The story begins on Coronation day in the Kingdom of Ninjago. The whole Kingdom is full of colored-flag with elemental symbols. The streets are full with people, dressed in colorful kimonos. Stores are full with customers coming to eat and buy stuff and souvenirs.
Not only is the coronation of the 100th generation of the Ninja Knights, it is also the coronation day for the prince of the Kingdom, Prince Lloyd Garmadon, to become the emperor of Ninjago. The day before the coronation, the Palace of Garmadon's Family is decorated in colorful flags and prepared to welcome Nobles and Knights of other Kingdoms.
And today, the day of coronation has arrived.
In the west side of the palace, which is a place for the knights to live and practice, the girl with long crimson hair, reddish-brown eyes is sitting at the front of the mirror, braiding her hair while thinking back to the day that she and her sisters have become the knight apprentices.
It was 10 years ago, when the crimson hair girl was around 8. She was just an ordinary girl, playing with her sisters. As the girls were having fun, the galloping sound caught their attention from the backyard of the orphanage.
The girls are confused, because not many galloping sounds are heard at the front of the orphanage before. Most of the time, there are only one or two galloping sounds that can be heard at the front of the orphanage.
With their curiosity, they decided to take a peek at the mysterious guests that came to their orphanage. They cannot see the faces of the guests, because of the stairs and the back of their adoptive mother. So, they decided to lean more to see. But they suddenly fall, because of the weight that they push on each other, causing a loud noise that caught the guests and their adoptive mother's attention.
"Iiiiii…ttettettetteeeeeee…"
"Oh dear! Are you girls alright?"
"We're fine, Mother..." The girls looked up and finally saw their guests. The girl then suddenly stands up in a fast movement and bows.
"We… We're sorry for disturbing your talk with our mother, O' Great Knights of Ninjago!"
"Nonono, It's okay. No need to be so formal. Cause' actually..." The guy with brown spiky hair in long-sleeves, red-black ninja suit with white cape and a flame pattern at the bottom then went on one knee to face the kids. He puts his hand on the oldest sister's shoulder.
"We actually come here to talk to you."
"Huh?" The sisters are confused, except for the two youngest with the former only 3 and the latter is 2. The young woman with black bob hair in a no sleeves, crimson and light blue ninja suit (Crimson pants), light pastel blue haori with a water pattern at the bottom, then comes and bends her knees to talk with them.
"We're actually coming here to take you girls in, to train you girls to become a Ninja Knights, like us." That shocked the sisters. Most of the kids dream in the Ninjago Kingdom is to become a Ninja Knight. Being scouted by Ninja Knights is like a miracle to them.
But becoming ones wasn't easy. The only way to become Ninja Knights is to be chosen by Garmadon's family, which is blood-related to the first spinjitzu master, by their Elemental vision.
"A-Are you sure it's us? It could be other kids inside this Kingdom." The Second Oldest asks with unsureness in her voice. The other sisters all nodded their heads in unison. This caused a smile to appear on the Knights faces. A young man with reddish-brown hair in long sleeves, blue-black ninja suit with dark blue no-sleeve haori and neon lightning pattern at the bottom, walks around the group to speak to them.
"Yes, it could. But because the prince and our friend, Lloyd, found out that you are the next generation of the Ninja Knights."
"Eh!?" This made the sisters, once again, shocked. As far as they could remember, they haven't met a prince before, let alone meeting him personally. But before they can say anything else, the same Knight revealed how they met with the prince.
It was around 4 days ago, at the central market. Their mother and three youngest sisters went to buy some groceries. Then, the youngest just wanders off, curious of her surrounding, unaware that there's a carriage coming at high speed. Lloyd, in disguise, jumped in to pull the girl out of the way. That's when he used his elemental vision, and he saw that the youngest holds the power of ice.
"After returning your sister to your mother, Lloyd puts a spell on your youngest sister. This allowed him to use Elemental Vision in distance. He then sees that all of you 9 girls each have elemental power inside you." The woman knight then explains, which makes the sisters understand more. Then the young man with long shaggy black hair in a no sleeves, black-orange ninja suit, and short-sleeves, light brown jinbei-styled haori with earth pattern at the bottom then kneels down in front of the girls.
"But, we're not gonna force you to become what you don't want to become. We'll give you girls time to think about it. And if you're interested-"
"We're in, sir." The Oldest says with confidence, which shocked the knights. The sisters all nodded their heads. The woman knight sits down to their eyes level and asks.
"Are you girls sure? Don't you want time to think first?"
"We're sure, ma'am. Ninjago is our home and we want to protect this Kingdom like you did. The chance has come, so we'll accept it." This makes the knights smile and their mother cries in happiness and proud. But the next sentence from the 4th sister confused them.
"But… on one condition."
"And what would that be?" The titanium cyborg in short sleeves, white and a tint of light blue ninja suit, covered with white cape and pale blue snowflakes pattern then asks. The 4th sister then signaled them and their mother to come closer and whispered to them, leaving the youngest in confusion.
"Can it be next week that you pick us up?"
"Hm?" This confused the knights, but not their sisters and their mother. The oldest then decided to explain more.
"It's just that… Next week is Mei Li's birthday. We want to give her a present for her 3rd birthday. And… We also want to spend our time with our mother before we parted."
Misaki, their adoptive mother, is impressed with the oldest and pulls the sisters into a warm hug. This warms the knight's hearts. So, wanting to keep this as one of their precious memories, the titanium ninja then secretly took a picture with his optical camera. And before the knights return to the palace, they make a promise with the sisters that they will come to the party, and telling their youngest that she will become a Ninja Knight as a present.
And, of course, This warms Lloyd's heart, and he also asks the Knights to come to the party, too.
A week later, on the youngest sister's birthday, the knights did keep their promise. Not only that, they even shocked the sisters with the arrival of the prince. But the news of becoming the Ninja Knight did surprise the youngest most. On that day, they were having so much fun and it was time for them to part with their mother on the next day. Before parting, their mother pulls them in an embrace and tell them:
"You girls are my pride and joy. Become a great knight that protects the people of this kingdom. I'm proud of you girls."
And that's basically how it became today. Thinking back to the day that their youngest were saved by the prince, who knew that they would become the knights that will protect the people of the kingdom and the empire.
The knock on the Shogi (Japanese style door) caught her attention. Looking to the source, a girl with short dark blue, almost black hair with lapis lazuli's blue eyes, in a short-sleeves, blue with light blue lining jinbei-styled kimono shirt, wrapped with white obi, with black knife pleated, above the knees skirt, underneath, she wears shorts that reach to her thighs only, cover with no-sleeves, dark blue, long jacket that cover her entire attire, light blue arms guards with black rope tied in two cross shapes, and black tabi socks.
"You're finished, Liella?"
"Yeah. The others are done. They're waiting for guests and our friends from other kingdoms that are arriving today, so I decided to pick you up and see you sitting still, looking to the horizon, again." The crimson hair girl laughs with the blue hair girl's remark before looking to the horizon again. In their sight is a red energy dome that is so big that it can be seen even from afar.
"You think we can bring it back? The lost Star Constel Kingdom?"
"Our previous generation might not. But our generation will. I'm sure of it." The crimson hair girl looks at her sister, confusion on her face and asks.
"How can you be so sure?"
"I don't know. Just have this feeling. Anyway, you better dress up. Don't want to be late for coronation, right? Jihyo Onee-chan?" Liella playfully speaks with a wink before walking off. Jihyo then laughs softly with her sister's cockiness.
"Mou… As cocky as always, eh?" She then changes into her coronation uniform, which is the same for Liella but with different colors on her shirt, jacket and arm guards. Her shirt is black and orange, while her jacket is dark gray with an earth pattern at the bottom. Her arm guards are orange. Jihyo took one last look at the mirror then walked out of her room.
Two sisters slip on the Japanese style slippers, then walk along the path to reach the entrance of the palace. Along the way, they are met with congratulations from the servants in the palace, some have given the gifts to them, but they declined. It took a while for them to reach the entrance due to the crowd.
"Onee-channnnnnn!" The loud, cheerful sound can be heard from the entrance. The two sisters smile as they see their youngest waving her hands excitedly to beacon them to come over. The youngest, Mei Li, runs to them and gives them a big hug, which they gladly accept.
Mei Li is a girl with chinese buns hairstyles, with pale blue eyes. Her uniform is in white and pale blue colors. Her arm guards are white and her jacket is white with a pale blue snowflakes pattern.
"Sorry we're late. We met a little traffic along the way."
"I can understand. Today is a big day, after all." Said a girl in black long hair with amber eyes as she looked around. Her uniform is in amber and white in color. Her arm guards and jacket are amber. At the bottom of the jacket is in white color to symbolize her element; Light.
"Or maybe that you're late, because our big sis' here had looked into the horizon, lost in her thoughts again, eh?" Said a brunette in a side ponytail with fiery red eyes. Her uniform is in vermilion and black colors. Her arm guards are vermilion while her jacket is in black and has a fire pattern at the bottom.
"Pin-Pon!"
"Asuka! Liella! Mou..." Jihyo then drops her head in shame while her sisters laugh. Suddenly, the sound of carriage reached their hearing range. A tomboyish girl with messy black hair and white streak on her right side of her hair with gray eyes then see the incoming white and pink carriage.
Her uniform is in dark gray-almost black-and light gray colors. Her arm guards are light gray, while her jacket is in slightly dark gray and the pattern is in black color to symbolize her elements; Shadow.
"Here comes the first kingdom."
The carriage then stops at the entrance of the palace, and it is the same time that the sister's masters come. The carriage door is opened by anthropomorphic tall dogs to reveal two anthropomorphic mice; one male, one female.
The male one is in short sleeves, black hooded jacket that is unzipped, with silver buttons and a checkered pattern at the hem, covering the V-neck grey shirt. He wears red cropped trousers that are hemmed with checkered patterns like his jacket, and yellow and grey shoes.
The female has long eyelashes, wearing a gold tiara with a ruby in the middle, an elegant ball gown with short, ball-shaped sleeves. The top part is in pink with red lining, with the pink section sports a flower-like pattern inside circles that line the bottom. The salmon-colored layer and a third, pleated, red layer are worn under the ball gown, white opera-length gloves that cover her whole arms and a large, red bow on the back of her dress.
"We welcomed you, King Mickey and Queen Minnie of Kingdom Hearts, to Ninjago." Cole, the master of earth, then bows, along with other knights and their apprentices.
"No need to be formal, Fellas."
"We won't want to miss an important day like this. Thank you so much for inviting us, Cole." Queen Minnie said to the shaggy black hair ninja, in which he rises with a smile. The sisters also raise their heads, to be met with a hug from a girl with two anthropomorphics animals, one duck, one dog.
"Congratulations, girls!"
"Sora! Donald! Goofy!" The girl with dark brown-almost black-hair with purple headband and a pair of light gray eyes exclaimed in happiness as. Her uniform contains purple and light gray colors. Her arm guards are purple, while her jacket is light gray with a gray wind pattern.
Sora has spiky brown hair which reaches to her mid-back. Her attire is a black v-neck t-shirt with white hemming, black shorts that reach to her knees with gray pockets that are held by red straps, a long black hooded jacket with red hemming, gray pocket with white hemming, and flannel flaps that are held with yellow buttons. Her shoes are black and yellow colors, with the ankle and tongue folded down. A pair of gray with red hemming, a yellow strap on the wrist, with silver circle plates, fingerless gloves. A crown necklace hanging on her neck.
The girl then gets off. That's when the mechanical whirling can be heard from distance. Upon seeing who's coming, the girl in amber smiled happily and waved.
"Eli-kun!" Coming in are 5 animal mechas. The front is the protector of Slugterra Kingdom, Eli Shane. Eli is in long sleeves, black, long, standing collar suit that was folded to his elbows and acts as a cape over a no sleeves, black, v-neck shirt, blue and black pants with metal-like boots, a pair of gloves that reached to his elbows, a bandoleer crossed over his chest with a few slug barrels and a tool belt which attached his signature blaster and over his left forearm is a wrist blaster.
Slugterra is different from other Kingdom, because they don't have a monarch ruling them. Instead, they will have a protector in each capitals. The 99 caverns protectors are under Shane's command.
But the position was left for 5 years due to Eli's father, Will Shane, who had gone missing during the duel with his rival, Dr. Thaddius Blakk. Without Shane protecting is when Slugterra turned downfall. The entire street is full of gangsters and Blakk's henchmen, running amok around the cavern.
Until Eli become protector of the 99 caverns, along with the help of others Knights from other Kingdoms, Dr. Blakk has defeated and Slugterra has returned to peace again.
The 5 animal mechas then stop at the front of the palace. The riders of the mechas come down and let the mechas in auto mode. Eli is then met with a big hug from the girl that called him earlier.
"You really come!"
"Haha. Why would I miss my girlfriend's big day like this? Congrats on becoming an official knight, Kanade." Said Eli as he strokes a girl in his arms. Eli and Kanade have been in a relationship for a year now. They met when Kanade was around 9 and Eli was 10 during the Ninja Knights visit in Slugterra. Their first encounter was around 3 months before Will Shane went missing.
While resting, Kanade was practicing with her light power by creating an orb of light, which is a basic power for the light user. At that time, all she can make is a little orb like a firefly. But that was more than enough to astonish young Eli at that time. They then soon become best friends/pen pal, with a special feeling budding in their heart.
And last year, during the coronation for Eli to be the head of the protector of the 99 caverns, Eli decided to reveal his feelings for the girl that he fell in love with, in which she accepted.
The chirping sounds can be heard from Eli's left shoulder. The familiar orange with fire pattern and white lining slug is waving its little hand to greet the girl, along with a light blue slug with white hair covering its face, and a green with white lining and a star symbol on its head. Kanade then smiles brightly.
"Hi there, Burpy, Chiller, Doc. So nice to see you again." Kanade raises her hand to catch the Slug, but it raises its little hand to stop the Ninja Knights of Lights, which causes her to be confused, and whistles.
Coming out of Eli's backpack, many types of slugs are carrying a flower crown which is made with different types of flowers and leaves; Roses, Carnation, you named them, tied along the back is a ribbon in amber color which gradients into white. This makes Kanade smile brightly and sits down to face the slugs, along with Eli, who also kneels down, too.
"You guys made this for me?" This caused the slugs to smile and they all nod their little heads, while some also blobbing with excitement. Eli breaths a small laugh as he explains.
"They want to make a gift to congratulate you for becoming a Knight. They really did their best in this one. Took them about 1 week to finish it."
"Awwwwww. Thank you, you guys." Kanade says as she rubs her finger on the Vinedrill slugs which it coos in response. Eli reaches his hand to the flower crown.
"Guys. May I?" The Slugs chirp in excitement as Eli's hand picks up a flower crown. He faces the girl of his heart and asks,
"May I wear this crown for you, my princess?" Kanade giggles with her nickname, but plays along anyway.
"Of course, your majesty." Eli laughs as he puts the flower crown on Kanade's head. The crown fits perfectly on the girl's head and it makes the girl look more like a princess more than a knight. Eli takes Kanade's hand and they both stand up with a smile on their faces.
"It seems like we're going to prepare a wedding after coronation after all~."
"Urusai yo! (Shut up!) Karina!" Kanade turns to the girls in brown ponytail hair, with green eyes. Her uniform is in green and yellow. Her arm guards are green, while her jacket is in yellow with a leaf pattern at the bottom.
Kanade's shout causes her sisters and the Shane gang, along with the Keyblade bearers, to laugh. Then, a girl with black mid-back length hair, with a pair of aquamarine orbs, in a blue uniform, with her hand guards in blue and her jacket in light blue with a water pattern at the bottom, then sees a guy who she is familiar with.
"Junjie-san."
"Xiao Ming-san." Junjie responds as he sees a girl who called him walk toward him. Junjie is wearing a Chinese, no sleeves black, side-button shirt, tied with a yellow cloth, a belt with a diamond shape buckle, a teal pair of Kung fu trousers, and a pair of ankle guards, which cover his silver color, metal-like boots. Covering his attire is a gray with yellow and white lining chinese side-buttons long sleeves jacket that reach to his waist. The sleeves reach to his elbows. He, like Eli, has a bandoleer across his chest and on his forearms are a pair of yellow wrist blasters with black gloves.
Unlike the current Shane Gang and the upcoming Knights meeting event, their encounter with Junjie didn't begin so well. Junjie was a bad guy which was called 'The Dark Slinger' at that time. He invaded the 99 caverns along with his dark servants. But he didn't want to do it. That was because the ghoul version of the Boon Doc controlled his mind. After he was saved, a few months later, he and the Shane Gang then returned to his hometown, The Eastern Cavern.
He was ashamed for letting the Goon control him for 20 years, so he determined to atone his sins by defeating the Emperor that took control of him, and he succeeded. But still feeling ashamed of what he did to the 99 caverns, he leaves his protector job to his brother-in-arm, Hamengku, and his mentor, Lian, and protects Slugterra as one of the Shane Gang.
"Welcome to Ninjago, Junjie-san."
"Thank you." Then, a small sound can be heard from Junjie's shoulder. There, a small slug that's the same as Burpy, but with lighter color is waving its hand to the girl. Junjie smiles as he puts his hand to let the slug jump on.
"Looks like someone wants to meet you."
"JooJoo-Kun. Hey there, little guy." Xiao Ming uses her finger to rub a little slugs head, in which it's coos. JooJoo then looks at its slinger and signals something for Junjie. He then gets something out. It's a hairpin which is carved. At the head of the Hairpin is a Dragon's head, with a chain of Aquamarine and an emblem of the Yang part of Yin-Yang hanging from the Dragon's mouth.
"Junjie-san? This is..."
"It's… Actually… It's my mother's. She said that my dad gave it to her when he asked her to be his girlfriend. And she said before she passed away to let me give it to someone who I loved." Junjie says as he looks at the hairpin in his hand. He then turns to Xiao Ming and gives the hairpin to her.
"And I want to give it to you."
"Junjie-san..." Xiao Ming starts to blush and her heart starts to flutter. Unknown to her, Junjie is the same as her. He takes Xiao Ming's hand and puts a hairpin in them.
"I want you to know that in my life, I want you to be my yang. Can you please… at least give me a chance… to protect you?" Junjie asks shyly as he averts his eyes away. Xiao Ming then becomes speechless then smiles and puts her hand on top of Junjie's.
"You know, you can be obvious to something like this." Junjie then looks up with a surprised look, to see Xiao Ming's smiling.
"Wait… You mean… Ah, man." Junjie then closes his face in embarrassment, upon knowing that a girl of his heart has already known his feelings for her. The Shane Gang says to make it a surprise for Xiao Ming, so he decided to give his only memoria of his mother to her.
In Junjie's idea, Xiao Ming is like his mother; brave, strong, but is also kind and soft. He always admired his mother, and Xiao Ming reminded her of that. So he falls in love with the girl for the first time that he was comforted, due to his guilt and nightmare, despite him trying to kill her in their first encounter.
The other laughs at his miserable attempts to make a sentimental confession. Xiao Ming then reaches to his hands which are closing his face and gives him a small smile,
"But, Arigatou, Junjie-san. It makes me really happy." Junjie then gives her a smile before says,
"Just 'Junjie' is fine." He then reaches his hand to Xiao Ming's hair and strokes it, "And in return, Can I just call you 'Xiao Ming'?"
"Un!" Xiao Ming responses with a smile. Xiao Ming then tied her strand of hair into a small bun, and used the hairpin to hold her hair. This causes a smile to appear on their face.
"Looks like we have to prepare another wedding." A tomboyish girl then speaks up in amusement, causing Xiao Ming to furiously shout at her second youngest sister in embarrassment.
"Amy!" This caused the others to laugh in delight. Then the blue, friendly cave troll in a black no sleeves jacket that is over the short sleeve white t-shirt, a pair of blue pants, black helmet with horn and a black boots, a bandoleer across his chest named Kord, then speaks up, "Speaking of a gift..."
The blue cave troll picks up the box, then opens it. Inside, 9 wrist blasters can be seen with each of them having different colors, matching with the girls uniforms colors. Coming in a girl in red pigtail hair's hands, in a green long sleeves hooded jacket that is zipped, the collar covers her chin, covering a black t-shirt, light gray leggings, and a pair of black boots, a tool belt with slug barrels attached, is a cage full of slugs. The sight of blasters and slugs causes the upcoming Knights to watch in astonishment.
"Wow."
"Thanks to Redhook, we use the model based on Junjie's blaster, combined with Eli's. It should be light enough for you girls to use along with your golden weapon." Kord explains as the girls pick up the blasters to take a look.
"And These Slugs, they would be your starter ammo. Of course, if you girls are free from mission, we'll take you to Slug hunt to find some more." The red pigtails girl, named Trixie, says.
"And I, Pronto, will guide you all to find the best slugs that no one won't be able to beat!" The only molenoid of the Shane Gang then boastes with confidence, which makes the Shane Gang to groan in annoyance, while the others just smile awkwardly. Then, they heard the sound of dragon roaring (With Pronto then cowering in fear).
As seeing a hoard of Dragon flying above them, The girls in purple then says,
"Here comes the last Kingdom."
"Hiccup-san! Sonic!" Mei Li exclaimed as she waved excitedly. On the black, green eyes dragon, a young viking in a bell shaped auburn hair, in a black and white musketeer shirt, a pair of dark, greyish-green pants, and a boot on his right foot. On his left leg, up to his shin, a metal prosthetic leg, with a spring system and an adapter stirrup, which also act as Multi-tool is replaced.
The other guy is an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog, wearing a blue with light blue button musketeer shirt, a white gloves and socks with red and white sneakers and gold buckles, waving from the back of the dragon.
The Jet-Black, Green eyes dragon, along with White, blue eyes dragon and a bunch of other dragons, along with their riders and other anthropomorphic animals then come down. Carried by two dragons with four wings, dexterous claws and a huge frill behind its head, a carriage in a shape of acorn has then landed.
Four anthropomorphics then came out. One is a male squirrel. He has two-toned brown colored fur, blue eyes and auburn hair, bushy eyebrows and long tail. His uniform is a blue royal ceremonial robes with gray pants, boots and red cape, all trimmed in yellow, carrying an emerald-topped scepter and the crown of the Acorn family. This is Elias Acorn, an heir to the throne of the Acorn Family.
The second is a brown squirrel with green eyes and wavy dark brown hair and a long bushy tail. Her attire is a regal dress in light blue, with a small gold tiara and pearls. In her arm is a baby anthropomorphic female squirrel. These are Megan Acorn and Alexis Acorn, Elias's wife and step-daugther.
Last but not least, a female squirrel/chipmunk with tan and light-brown fur, short dark auburn hair, blue eyes and short tail. Her royal attire is an azure dress with white trimming that reaches to her knees, azure knee-high boots and a golden tiara. On her wrists is a pair of blue bracelets around her gloves. This is Sally Acorn, Elias's Sister and the Leader of Freedom Fighters, team Freedom.
"Your Majesty." The girl in purple then says and curtsey to the male squirrel. Elias then raises his hand to stop and said,
"No need to be formal, Proud. On behalf of the royal family of Acorn, we congratulated you to become a knight."
"Thank you, Your Majes-, I mean, Elias-san." The Squirrel Prince then smiles. Then the Squirrel/Chipmunk princess tackles the girl in Purple that makes her stumble.
"Congrats, Girls!"
"Thanks, Sal! Thanks for coming, you guys."
"Why would we miss it? It's a big day for you girls, after all." A blond, braided hair viking, wearing a red and white musketeer shirt, black shorts and black boots says as she dismounted her dragon, Stormfly. Then a muscular, black hair viking, wearing a green and blue musketeer shirt with black pants and black boots, walks from behind and wraps his arm around her shoulder.
"Well, Maybe after this, it will be our big day. You and Me, eternal love~" It's not obvious that the viking might have a crush on the upcoming Ninja Knight of Wind, or he just wants to show off. But the girl doesn't approve of his feelings.
"In your dream, Snothead." Proud then ducks from his arm as she twisted it to his back, causing the Viking to cry in agony. Then, using all her strength, kicks the viking butt that causes him to fall down. This makes the others laugh at his unfortunate attempt to flirt. Then, Asuka sees something shiny on both Hiccup and the blond viking left ring finger.
"Wait. Is that…? Is that what I think it is?" The Dragon Riders then smiles, except for Snotlout, who's still on the floor. The girl with two small braids and three long braids wearing a yellowish-brown and white musketeer shirt with brown legging and leather boots then says in singing-song voice,
"That's right. They're engaged~."
"No way!"
"Kekkon Omedetou! Hiccup-san, Astrid-san." Everyone then surrounds the upcoming bride and groom, in which they smile shyly for their congratulations.
"Thanks, Everyone."
