It has now been five whole years since the end of the Second Aegis War. The people of Elysium have been slowly growing over that past few years and have lived in relative harmony over all of that time. There have been a couple of instances of discord between the people of the Uraya and Gormott regions with the Empress of Elysium but nothing too crazy.
Rex and Nia have lived in relative peace over the past five years in their quiet little house on the outskirts of Fonsett Village. They have simply been enjoying each others company and their love has grown even more in this time of peace. Rex still occasionally gets visitors who want to meet the hero of their great nation. Nia thinks it will inflate his ego but Rex thinks otherwise. Rex still goes around helping the village in any way he can. Rex also represents the people of Leftharia but its more of Nia's influence on Rex during council meetings. Rex has also grown a bit taller in the past five years now being taller than Nia but not as tall as her ears, he has also adopted a more lean look.
Tora is now the leading manufacturer for artificial blades and has been helping people who couldn't resonate with core crystals finally realize their dreams with the help of artificial blades. When the people of Gormott where looking for someone to represent them on the council, the people voted for Tora to represent them due to being a hero from the war and his help with the Gormott economy with the introduction of his artificial blade business. This has lead Tora to mature much more due to all these changes and even has a wifeypon with a littlepon on the way.
Morag has been leader of Elysium since its conception and has been at a struggle with gaining the trust of the Uraya and Gormott regions due to her being an Ardainian but has been trying her hardest to gain the admiration of the people of those regions so she can truly unite all the regions into making Elysium truly complete. She never liked the regal look so she just got her Inquisitor outfit in white instead to show her royalty, Her crown is also more on the simplistic side.
Zeke has been sent out on a special mission by Morag to go map and record the flora and fauna of the heart of Elysium as it was found out that the inner regions of Elysium are actually quite treacherous even for normal drivers, so Morag sent Zeke on this mission for almost four years by this point. Zeke would drop by every six months to report to Morag on his findings and to gain more supplies for his next round of discovery. Curiously enough two years into his expeditions Zeke began requesting for more supplies which made Morag wonder why Zeke suddenly requires double the supplies. Zeke has enjoyed his new job as it allowed him to discover new uncharted regions and go on his own adventures along with Pandoria to find even greater rewards. Over these adventures Zeke has gotten more buff and has even grown a goatee.
We now cut over to Rex to see that he is actually having lunch with Tora over in Torigoth as Rex and Nia wanted to go and visit their long time friend and right now Nia is out buying some new clothes for Rex alongside Hyo who is also buying new clothes for Tora, while he and Tora talk about the real reason Rex came over to Torigoth.
"Tora, there's actually a reason I wanted to come over and talk to you. It's something very important." As Rex says as he focuses in on his old time friend.
"Why friend Rex-Rex get serious all of a sudden? Tora not know there was ulterior motive." Tora looks over in confusion at this turn of events.
"Tora do you know how long me an Nia have been together?"
"Of course Tora know. Friend Rex-Rex and Nia have been together for five years now. Why friend ask?"
"Well, coming up in a few days it will be the five year anniversary of the end of the Second Aegis War and I want to do something very special for Nia on that day."
"What friend have in mind? Perhaps another date?"
"Well... I was actually thinking of Proposing to her on that day." Rex pulls out a small box and shows it to Tora before putting it back in his pocket.
"Meh Meh Meh! Friend Rex-Rex finally propose?! Took friend long enough! Tora so proud of you!" Tora gets up and pats Rex on the back as he is saying this. "But why friend come to Tora to tell?"
"Because I want advice on how you did your proposal a year ago since your the only friend I know who is married already."
"Well Tora propose to wifeypon Hyo many times before Hyo except so Tora not exactly best role model for proposal."
"Well what did you do right on the proposal that she did accept?" Rex questions with curiosity at this revelation.
"Tora had to take Hyo to all of favorite places and show all the memories we have together. Tora guess trick is to evoke emotions of time together increase chances of success."
"So I should bring Nia to places that evoke are times together. Thanks Tora I'll be sure to keep that in mind going forward." Rex nods his head while he thinks about where the best places to take Nia would be.
"Tora wish best of luck to Rex-Rex and hope that everything work out."
"Thanks Tora. By the way Tora is it true what I've heard about you and Hyo?"
"If friend referring to Tora becoming Dadapon then you would be right."
"So how far along is Hyo?"
"Hyo is along two months right now, ooohh Tora so excited to be Dadapon can barely contain myself!" Tora shows all the energy he has by flapping his wings.
"Have you thought of a name yet for your kid?"
"mmmmm, Tora and Hyo still not come up with name for littlepon. Still working on it."
"Well I just know you'll come up with something great Tora."
"Thanks friend."
Meanwhile in the shopping district Nia and Hyo are having a similar conversation.
"Haven't Nia and Rex been together for five years now?"
"Well yes but, I've just been thinking recently how we've been together for this long and even live in the same house and yet Rex still hasn't come out and proposed to me yet. What do you think he's waiting for?"
"Hyo think that Rex want to propose, just doesn't know how. Tora was the same way when he tried to propose for the first time and fail horribly."
"Do you think he's scared?"
"Knowing him he probably want to get right on first time and make special for Nia."
"Honestly at this point I don't think there would be any way for him to flop it y'know?"
"Hyo know. Hyo say just give Rex some time, I feel it will happen soon."
"What makes you say that?"
"Instinct I guess?"
"Instinct you say." Nia thinks about that for a moment before deciding to go back. "We should get back to lunch, we've been gone long enough."
"You buying anything for Rex? Hyo think of buying cool new jacket for Hubbypon."
"Yeah I think this will do quite nicely." Nia picked out a dark green outfit.
A few days pass and it is the morning of the five year anniversary of the Second Aegis War. Rex makes sure to wake up before Nia and quietly goes towards the kitchen to make breakfast for his lover. Their house was quite modest in design only being one floor with two bedrooms, theirs and a guest room, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room, and a closet. all in all it was quaint but home. Dromach was still sleeping in the living room when he was awoken by the sound of the oven.
"Master Rex, I wasn't expecting to see you up this early." Dromach yawns out as he walks over to the kitchen.
"Oh Dromarch you woke up I see, I hope I didn't disturb you." Rex has an apologetic look on his face.
"It is quite alright, I normally wake up at this time anyways."
"Thats good. And to answer your previous question I'm up early so I can make Nia an extra special breakfast this morning. You do know what today is after all right?"
"Why of course, today was the day that we defeated Malos and discovered Elysium five years ago."
"Exactly and I want to make today extra special for her."
"Do you perhaps have an ulterior motive Master Rex?" Dromarch implies with a narrowed stare.
"Perhaps. Do you want some breakfast to Dromarch?" Rex offers too Dromarch.
"Maybe when I get back from my daily walk, I'll be back in a little bit Master Rex." With that Dromarch leaves to go for a walk. Dromarch has been doing that everyday since they moved to Fonsett Village and Rex thinks he does it to think and Reminisce.
Ten minutes later Nia begins to stir and is awoken to the scent of food. She guesses Rex got up a bit before her and made breakfast. As she leaves their room she realizes just how much food is on the table.
"Jeez Rex it looks like you went a bit overkill on the breakfast this morning. Are you planning on feeding the entire village?" Nia says in mach smugness.
"A good morning to you Nia and this is all for us."
"So you got something planned today or something?"
"Well I'm glad you ask. As a matter of fact I do." Rex confidently says as he puffs out his chest and puts his hands on his hips.
While this is going on deep within the heart of Elysium a group of unauthorized researchers are searching through Elysium to find any new discoveries. While they look through the heart they discover an ancient temple in the very center of the entire continent. The temple looks older than Alrest itself and it looks like its on its last legs. Upon going inside the temple, the research team discover a giant crystal obelisk in the middle of the temple that appears to contain something.
"What do you think this thing could be?" One of the researchers announces.
"According to our readings this thing is at least two thousand years old." Another researcher with some sort of scanner reads off the information.
"Two Thousand years old?! That has to be during the times of the original Elysium at the very least." Another researcher exclaims in shock.
"What do you think that thing in the middle of the obelisk is?" The first one questions.
"My guess is the crystalized remains of a person from those times. He's probably been long dead." Another replies.
"What do you think we should do with him?"
"We should try mining him out of there. His body looks well reserved. This could be the discovery of the century if we can get a bit of his DNA and show the rest of the world the body of a human from so long ago in such good condition."
"Are you sure this is such a good idea? It looks like he was put there on purpose, do you think freeing him is such a great idea?" A worried researcher says.
"My hypothesis is that this was some sort of ancient preserving technique which was used on people of high social standing to keep them looking young even after death. I doubt this guys alive. For all we know he could've been the king of this land a long time ago. We're going to get so much recognition for this!"
"If you say so. Then we shall begin excavation." The lead researcher declares.
And so the researchers began the excavation of the mysterious man.
"Wow, sounds like you've got a lot planned for today aye Rex?" Nia excitedly responds.
"This would've never been possible before if it weren't for how close all the nations are now. So are first place to go is Torigoth in Gormott, Then Garfont Village and Fonsa Myma in Uraya, Then Alba Cavanich in Mor Ardain, Then the Spirit Crucible Elpys, Then the Cliffs of Morytha, Then Rumbletum Canteen in Argentum, then finally back home."
"You know I heard you the first time right?"
"Yeah I know I just said it again for my own sake. Any ways let's get going. today is going to be a packed day. Dromarch your in charge of the house while we're gone alright?"
"Of course, Master Rex."
As they head out Rex goes to their transportation and asks for their help.
"Hey gramps could you help me out today? I had this great idea to take Nia out to some places and was wondering if you could be our ride."
"Well as long as it's not too many places I should be fine."
Rex then tells Azurda all the places he wants to take her.
"That is a lot of places my boy are you sure we have to go all those places?" Azurda looks a bit stressed from hearing all those places in the same day.
Rex then leans in close and whispers to Azurda: "Please? I'm planning on proposing later and I need to show her around first."
Azurda whispers back: "So you're finally doing it my boy? I'm so proud of you." Azurda flashes Rex a grin upon hearing the news.
"Yeah so could you please do this for me just this once?" Rex pleads for Azurda's help.
"Oh alright, Just this once." Azurda responds tiredly.
With that Rex and Nia go all around Elysium and Reminisce on their journey they took all those years ago. They went to see Nia's old home in Torigoth and Rex got her some Cream Orange Paratha while they were there. They went to Garfront Village to see how big the Mercenaries have grown since the last time they were there. While they were in Uraya they went to the capital to see the play of Vandams life and and the last play that Cole ever produced called the Legend of Rex: Hero of Elysium. Unfortunately, Cole had passed away the year before but before his death he released his last play. Everyone noticed when Rex and Nia themselves were there watching the play and the whole theater got hysterical seeing the two of them as they had not expected their hero's to be there as well. After that Rex and Nia immediately fled after the play to avoid more paparazzi and went on their way to Alba Cavaninch to eat lunch and to look around. They noticed how many artificial blades were now around and were amazed at just how much influence Tora's company has. After that the two went to the Spirit Crucible Elpys and went to where the two confessed to each other. Then they went to the Cliffs of Morytha and remembered their stand against Jin and Malos and how it was almost their last stand. After that they went to the Rumbletum Canteen in Argentum where they would eat dinner then went to the place that the two of them first met. When they finally went back home it was night time and the two of them were exhausted from all that they did that day. As they were getting closer to their house Rex stopped Nia.
"Wait, before we go back can we go by the cliff at the edge of the Village real quick?" Rex jesters behind him.
"Sure I don't see why not."
Nia then suddenly thought to herself: 'Wait a minute. Is he gonna do it? O Architect I hope he does it. That would be the best way to end this perfect day.'
As they approached the cliff, Rex suddenly stop which made Nia stop as well. Rex then turned around and looked softly into her eyes.
"I hope you had a good day today, my love."
"I most certainly did."
"You know you've been by my side for so long now, and I've been by yours as well. You were my first friend and my first love. You mean the world to me and you are the best part about waking up every morning. I love those soft yellow eyes and those cute fangs, I love everything about you. I know the world has not treated you kindly in the past and you bore witness to some of the worst aspects of humanity but I am so happy that you chose to accept me as the one for you despite that. I know it's kind of funny how you confessed to me before I could to you, but I'm going to set things right. So I just have one question for you Nia..." Rex gets down on one knee and pulls out a box from his back pocket and opens it up to reveal a ring with a bright yellow gem in the middle. "...will you marry me?"
Nia is left speechless at hearing that question. She knew it was coming and yet she couldn't say anything. She simply couldn't believe he finally did it. She was filled with so much happiness that she began to cry. Rex has a look of concern on his face at seeing her tears but she wipes them away and shouts her answer.
"YES! YES of course I'll marry you!"
With that Nia wrapped her arms tightly around Rex and gave him a deep kiss. Rex reciprocated and put the ring on Nia's hand.
"I think our future is about to become even brighter." Rex says in a dreamy voice.
It has been several hours now that the researchers had been mining away at the obelisk and they are almost at a point where they can make contact with the mysterious mans flesh.
"I'd say we're almost to the specimen, we should make contact within the next few minutes." One of the researchers informs the lead researcher.
"I still don't think this is a good idea, I'm worried what will happen when we do make contact." The worried researcher tells the lead researcher.
"I already told you that nothing will happen, other than becoming famous from our discovery." The lead researcher assures.
"Sir! We've made contact with the specimen! He's ready for you to extract his DNA." One of the researchers excitedly informs.
"Then I shall get right to it then." With that the lead researcher walks up to the obelisk.
The researcher pulls out a small knife and aims for the piece of Arm that has been exposed to the outside world and begins to cut into the arm when he realizes something. His knife can't cut through the arm.
"Interesting. I swore they had already cleared the crystal out of the w-"
Suddenly the arm starts to twitch.
"What th-"
Suddenly the entire arm burst forth from the crystal destroying all of it with ease. The arm then starts to violently punch the area around the chest and head region and shatters the crystal from their as well while the research crew looks terrified and the man starts panting heavily. The man then demands from the researchers.
"Tell me... How long have I... been incased for?"
The researchers all look terrified and one of them throws up and another pisses himself. The head researcher responds very shakily.
"A-according to o-our research... A-about two th-thousand y-years?"
"Two thousand years huh? I guess Klaus is long dead then."
"W-who?"
"It matters not."
The mysterious man then punches the crystal incapsulating his other arm and shatters it instantly. He then smashes both arms down and frees his entire lower half.
"You all won't live to tell anyone any ways."
The Mysterious man then completely pulverizes nearly every single one of them in about five seconds.
"It looks like I've gotten weaker since I was sealed up. I would've been able to kill all of them in half a second if I had my strength back."
The mysterious man left one researcher alive, the worried one and talks to him.
"You, I've left you alive for one very important reason."
The researcher looks like he's about to faint from the sheer terror this man inflicts.
"A-and wh-what wo-would th-that b-be?"
"I want you to tell whoever the leader of you humans is that I declare the complete and utter annihilation of humanity."
"Wh-what is y-your n-name?"
The man begins to walk out of the temple and that is when the researcher gets a good look at the man. He was at least ten feet tall with a very muscular physic to him, he also had long white hair, White robes that almost give him a holy look, ten rings on his fingers each with empty gem slots, and his most prominent feature was his giant white core crystal that stretches in a cross shape along his entire upper torso. As he is leaving he simply gives the researcher a one word response.
"Exodus."

Authors Notes: I'm Back! I decided to take a break but it turns out that break was kind of long. So this is the beginning of Part 2 so I'm so excited! Initially I got burned out from writing part 1 but now I'm gonna go full force and write Part 2 full steam ahead. So what got me back to writing this fanfiction was after I beat Xenoblade 1 Definitive Edition I began to really miss Xenoblade 2 so I went back and played Xenoblade 2 for the second time and loved it just as much as the first time I played it. Because of that I got demotivated to write the long awaited chapter 29. Be expecting me to upload more soon, I have a lot planned out for this arc and I can't wait to share it with all of you. I hope you all will leave feedback as I always enjoy reading it and I hope to see all of you in chapter 30.
