I left the hospital a long while ago and tomorrow is going to be my first day at work. Of course, I told Castle about my pregnancy in our swing. He was so thrilled but also worried. I don't know how did I manage to avoid getting imprisoned in the loft until labour. Well, maybe it's, because I threaten to shoot him. I know that there are higher chances of miscarriage than to a normal pregnancy, but I'm really careful, and at work I will be chained to the desk if not by Castle then definitely by Lanie and boys. Speaking of them today we are throwing a small party for our family and friends at Old Haunt. We are doing it to celebrate my tomorrow's first day at work, but it's also a cover because we want to tell to them who don't know that I'm pregnant.
At the Old Haunt we waited for all guests to come. Surprisingly, the first one who wanted to have a longer conversation with me was Victoria Gates. It's still strange to call her by her first name, but this is how she wants us to call her now.
"Hello, Kate! Nice to see you two are OK. I need to say that since you are a captain, I thought you won't get in trouble that often. Guess I was wrong."
"Well, believe me or not, but I thought that being a captain means only paper work and taking care of the detectives. Guess I was wrong either."
"I just want you to trust me and ask for help if you need it. You don't have to use me as an excuse when your life is in danger. Plus I really like working at 12, but not exactly as your replacement."
"Yeah sorry for this excuse. Next time, which I hope will never happen, I will call you for help and thank you for being a temporary Capitan."
"No problem I just hope that I won't have to be a Capitan of 12 while you are in the hospital."
"Me too, but there is going to be one exception." said Castle.
I look around and saw that everyone is here.
"OK since everyone is here we want to say what is a real reason why you are all here." I continued.
"So we are going to have a baby." We spoke together.
