Louisiana, September 11th, 9:00 A.M
It's been three days since Hunter has been committed to Belle Reve. For the past two days, he's become familiar with the four walls of his cell. On his second day, they removed his shackles when Waller decided he wasn't going to try to escape. The guards asked if there were anything he could want to make him 'comfortable'. He asked for simple things, books, a pen, paper, a punching bag, and his father's dog tags.
Before he was about to go to sleep on his second night his entire cell filled up with smoke. It was a sedative that forced him into a dreamless slumber. When he came to he found a bookshelf and a desk with his father's dog tags. He also had a slight ache in the back of his neck. Getting up the first thing he did was put the chain around his neck.
Inspecting the room he approached the bookshelf. The books were varied, astronomy, history, literature, and fiction. The bookshelf was made of dark tan wood and four shelves tall. Hunter took a single book from the shelf and inspected it. It was a book about the heroes of Ancient Greece.
Flipping the pages he found the passage about Hercules. Skimming through the beginning he stopped when he reached what he was looking for. He read once, twice, he lost count after five times. He reread about Hercules' fit of madness induced by Hera. This leads to him killing his family and eventually leads him to perform his twelve labors.
Sitting down on his bed Hunter sighed, "Hercules performed twelve labors to redeem himself. I must do the same."
Laying down he closed his eyes before a deafening buzzing rang in his eyes. Opening his eyes he saw that his white cell had turned blood red. Shoot up from his bed he approached the glass. Looking across the hall he saw El Diablo sitting on his bed.
"What's happening?" He asked the criminal.
The tattooed man looked up at him for a moment, "A suicide mission."
Just then the hallway is flooded with guards in riot gear. Bulletproof vests, shields, riot sticks, and rifles. One by one they burst into the cells and forced the inhabitants out. They placed bags over their heads as they were guided to a different room.
"What's happening?" Hunter asked before was shoved forward, "What's happening?!"
The bag was ripped off his head revealing that he was in a far different room. Looking around he saw the rest of the members of the squad. To his left was Deadshot, Killer Croc, Copperhead, and to his right was Harley Quinn, El Diablo, and Captain Boomerang.
Before he could question his appearance Waller stood.
Besides her stood Rick Flag, Katana, and a woman in a lab robe. The warden approached them, "Be proud scum, your country needs you to covertly infiltrate one of the most remote facilities in the world."
"Oh, is it on a tropical island?" Harley asked jumping in excitement, "We could get some margaritas!"
Ignoring Harley's outburst Waller continued, "The base you're infiltrating is the Fortress of Solitude." She said before the darkness behind her illuminated into an image of Superman's base.
A pregnant silence filled the room before Captain Boomerang exclaimed, "You got to be shittin' me!"
"Ooohh skiing!" Harley exclaimed excitedly.
"I hate the cold." Croc mumbled.
"Dios Mio." Diablo muttered.
"What are we snatching?" Deadshot asked.
The image changed to a machine. It was a cubic object with a large circular lense and a handle. It vaguely looked like a camera. Hunter gave it an incredulous look, it didn't look particularly threatening.
"It's a machine." She answered, "That's all you need to know."
Hunter hummed in deep thought. It seemed familiar but he couldn't quite place his finger on it. Superman has multiple Kryptonian machines so it could be anything.
"Why would you want that thing?" Copperhead asked with her thick Mexican accent.
"That's irrelevant." Waller replied before nodding to Flag.
The team leader stepped forward, "Our intel has informed us that there's an aqueduct beneath the fortress. It leads right inside the inner sanctum."
"So we're going to the Arctic circle to swim through freezing water so we could get a machine for reasons we don't know?" Harley Quinn asked aloud and after a moment of silence, she began to laugh, "Woo! Let's go!"
Hunter didn't know whether or not Harley Quinn's fearless or just stupid or maybe even both.
"The voices are excited too!" She added hoping up and down.
On second thought she's just crazy.
"Suit up!" Waller ordered as briefcases were put in front of them.
Each of the briefcases brandished each of their logos. Everyone immediately opened their cases but Hunter. He slowly reached down and opened the metal case. He gasped as he saw his armor, sword, shield and lasso inside. How did they acquire his gear, Batman said that they would be returned to Themyscira.
Looking up at the others who are nearly ready he sighed, he could ask those questions later. Using his speed he spun around in a blur. The squad all paused as he finally stopped spinning revealing that has armored up. Hunter leaned over and strapped his weapons to his back before he hooked his lasso to his hip.
Smiling to himself he looked up to see everyone's questioning looks, "What?"
The squad stayed silent as they continued getting dressed. Shrill laughter broke the silence as Harley Quinn ran up to Hunter. The hero quickly took a step back as the clown stopped a few steps away from him. "Harley Quinn nice to meet ya!" She greeted thrusting an open hand forward.
Hunter didn't quite know how to react before he sighed, "Wonder Warrior." He greeted before taking her hand in his. As they shook hands Hunter took a moment to observe her.
Her outfit was different from the leotard he's seen on the news. This wasn't so far off from it though, she kept the color scheme of black, red, and white. Instead of the one-piece she usually wore she dawned black and red leather pants, a black Tootoo with white ruffles, a black and red corset, a quite revealing bra, and black gloves.
He noticed that she wielded a large mallet, a pair of pistols on her hips, and a metal baseball bat on her back. If she had any more weapons he didn't see any of them.
"Oh, I know, I'm a big fan of you and your ma!" She answered before placing the mallet on the floor, "I even tattooed your guys' logo on my butt wanna see?!" She asked quickly turned around and bent over.
Hunter quickly looked away, "I believe you!" He shrieks.
"Jesus, Quinn pull your pants up!" Deadshot exclaimed from behind his mask.
"Talk about a party pooper." Harley mutter with a chuckle.
Hunter waited a moment before he looked back to see Harley pulling up her pants, "Thank the gods." He sighed.
"So, how are we going to get there, a submarine?" Captain Boomerang asked.
"Anything but space." Croc announced.
"This ain't right Waller!" Croc exclaimed.
As it turned out Waller had access to spacefaring vehicles. They're currently orbiting the northern hemisphere waiting to reach the drop point. Each one of them was placed into pods designed to withstand the plummet down to earth. Hunter didn't have much of a problem with it he's always wanted to go to space.
"Hey look at my hair!" Harley squealed vigorously shaking her head as her hair moved out in zero gravity.
"I'm starting to feel sick." Croc groaned.
"Task Force X." Waller's voice rang through the pods, "Our source tells us that Superman is currently off-world with Green Lantern. This may be our only shot." She explained.
"What kind of security are we expecting?" Deadshot asked.
"The fortress is protected by six Kryptonian super androids. They may look like Superman and appear ro have his abilities but don't be fooled they are far weaker than the Man of Steel." She informed, "Take them out and it'll be a walk in the park."
"Alien killer robots, that's just bloody wonderful." Boomerang sighed.
"Reaching the drop point!" Flagg notified the team, "Launching in three. . .two. . .one!"
Right on the mark, the whole team dropped out of the ship at top speed. The amount of GeForce they had to endure made even Hunter a bit dizzy. The other experienced it a bit differently. Harley was laughing her pants off, Deadshot closed his eyes breathing deeply, Boomerang cursed aloud for everyone to hear, and Croc looked greener than usual.
"I'm going to vomit!" Croc groaned as they entered the atmosphere.
Hunter saw a bright orange outside of the pod before it became dark red. He felt GeForce pushing down on him as if someone was sitting on him. He easily braved through it with his strength the others however weren't as lucky.
"I'm gonna-" Croc tried to say before he began to vomit.
"Ew, his fuckin vomit is flooding his pod!" Boomerang said in disgust.
"Croc stop!" Flag ordered helplessly from his pod.
"Twenty seconds to landing!" Katana warned.
"Hold, your breath!" Diablo screamed hoping Croc would listen.
"Drowning in your own vomit, what a way to go." Harley commented, "I think I see chunks of pizza. Wait when the hell did you get pizza, Croc!?" She demanded forgetting that he was drowning.
"Fifteen seconds!" Katana continued to count down.
"He's a goner." Deadshot sighed.
"Wait, are you guys seriously going to let your teammate die?!" Hunter asked in disdain.
"Teammates around here are a dime a dozen, hero." Copperhead states carelessly.
"It's like a revolving door, mate." Boomerang added, "It happens, nothin' we can do about it."
"Ten seconds to target!" The samurai continued counting.
"Like hell, there isn't!" Hunter exclaimed before he lifted his leg.
Kicking the door to his pod out it flew upwards. Climbing out the first thing Hunter felt was the searing heat. His body could handle it but it stung like hell. Jumping out of his pod he saw it fly off course and drifted away from the others. Flying towards Croc's pod he punched his fist into the door before ripping it our unleashing a torrent of green vomit. Hunter cringed at the smell before reaching inside and grabbed Croc.
"Five seconds!"
Looking down Hunter saw the ice below come closer and closer. The others looked on nervously as the last few seconds headed to zero. Wonder Warrior quickly pulled Croc out of the pod and jumped.
"Arriving at the target!" Katana informed when the thrusters beneath the pods burned to life leaving Wonder Warrior and Croc to continue plummeting towards the ice below.
Hunter wrapped his arms as far as they could around Croc's large scaly body, acting as a human shield. Crashing into the ice they bounced over the white terrain leaving large craters in their wake before sliding into the frozen water carving it in their wake. Wonder Warrior silently thanked the gods for his shield cushioning his fall. Pushing the large man off of him he looked up at the sky in shock.
"Oh gods, that was madness." He said through panting breaths.
Looking over at Croc he noticed that the large man wasn't moving. His own pain forgotten, he quickly kneeled by the human crocodile's side flipping him over on his back. Hunter listened for a heartbeat but down none. He quickly straddled the man's stomach and placed his palms on his chest and began to rhythmically push his hands down.
After nearly a minute of nothing happening, Hunter groaned, "Come on!" He screamed before he reared his fists back before slamming them down causing Croc to cough out more vomit and gasp for air.
Croc looked around in shock before his eyes landed on Hunter, "You saved me?" He asked confused, "Why?"
Wonder Warrior looked at the villain with a confused expression, "Because you were in trouble, and whether you like it or not you're my teammate."
Waylon's confused look turned to one of appreciation, "Thanks." He said with his gravelly voice.
Wonder Warrior smiled and nodded his head, "Your welcome."
A whistle can't through the tundra catching their attention. Looking up they found the rest of the squad. Harley took a picture with her phone, "Brings a whole new meeting of beauty and the beast, ha!" She giggled, "In all seriousness you two are adorable."
Hunter's face turned a deep red and quickly flew off of Croc's torso and offered him a hand. The crocodile man took it encasing Hunter's small hand with his larger one. Despite the difference in size Hunter easily pulled Croc to his feet. This close Hunter just realized how tall Croc is. He must be seven feet tall at least. Climbing out of the crater they joined the rest of the squad.
"Good job, Wonder Warrior." Flag nodded to the prince who nodded in return before looking at Croc, "How are you doing, Jones?" He asked.
"Not dead, so good I guess." He replied with a thumbs up.
"The fortress is two miles north." Katana informed.
"We're going to trudge through this frozen shit hole for two miles!?" Boomerang exclaimed before everyone began to walk, ignoring him, "We're going to freeze to death out here!" He yelled following them.
"You do remember that we have a living flamethrower with us right?" Deadshot replied pointing his thumb at Diablo.
Digger glanced at Diablo blinked, "Oh. . .right. But still-"
"Shut. Up." Croc growled.
Themyscira, 3:43 PM
For the past three days, Diana pulled away from the world of man, from the Justice League. She turned off her communicator and left it at her villa in France. She took the Invisible Jet from Mount Justice and flew straight home. Themyscira, her childhood home, the island paradise always had a way to ease her mind and heart.
It didn't this time, she stood alone on this cliff overseeing the city for hours but her mind is still plagued with what horrors Hunter is facing. She informed her mother of what happened and the Queen had nearly started a war. Hippolyta wanted nothing more than to tear Belle Reve down and bring Hunter home. Diana narrowly stopped her by telling her it was Hunter's choice.
Still, the legions of the Amazons were prepared for war on the world if the queen has any second thoughts. Diana knew that war wasn't that answer to this but Hades if she wasn't tempted. This was a plot orchestrated by Ares, perhaps he wants to spark a war between the Amazons and the rest of the world. Most of the world believes them to be medieval warriors with primitive weaponry but are ignorant of the magic, monsters, and deities they have at their disposal.
She sighed before she lifted off the ground. She began to fly off before she heard the crackle of lightning. Turning around she found Hermes, the Messenger of the Gods standing where she once stood. Getting over the surprise she flew down and landed before him.
"Lord Hermes." She greeted before she bowed her head, "Have you come with a message?"
"I wouldn't be here if I didn't, sister." He replied with a somber look, "Zeus wishes to see you, alone. And I warn you he's in one of his moods."
Diana's eyes widened from shock. Perhaps war is imminent.
The squad had been walking for an hour and a half now. They would need to occasionally stop so Diablo could heat them otherwise they would freeze to death. Despite this Harkness continued to complain. His whining didn't last though as they arrived at their target.
"Fuckin hell," Digger said in awe.
"Didn't know the Big Guy was the grandiose type." Harley commented.
In the middle of the tundra stood a grand palace made of ice. The crystals were arranged to lean on each other into a pyramid like-shape. At the foot of it stood a large door with Superman's crest.
"Katana, take Diablo, Croc, and Warrior to the coordinates of the aquifer." Flag ordered, "The rest of us are going to knock on the door."
Katana nodded before walking away with Hunter, Diablo, and Croc in tow. The group of four walked for half an hour when Katana stopped. She looked around before walking down a hill of snow she kneeled and wiped the snow away revealing the ice below.
"Here." She said before standing up, "Diablo melt this sheet of ice."
She stepped back as Diablo replaced her position. Aiming his palms at the ice he unleashed two pillars of flame. The other three watched as the ice began to melt before cracking. It was a split-second reaction, Hunter dashed forward and caught Diablo by his underarms before the ice caves in.
The prince gently put Diablo down next to Katana and Croc, "Gracias."
"Don't mention it." Hunter replied looking down at the water.
"Croc, go down and look for a large pipe." Katana ordered, "It should be a hundred feet from here."
"I hate the cold." Croc grunted before diving in the water.
The other three waited a moment before Croc resurfaced, "Did you find it?" Katana asked.
Croc grunted, "I did but we got a problem. The pipe has bars on it, I tried to break it open but it won't budge."
Katana hummed, "Superman probably made it so only he could break them open." She concluded before she turned to Wonder Warrior, "Do you think you can break it open?"
"I can try." Hunter replied before he jumped into the and grunted at the freezing water, "Ugh I hate the cold." He shivered before he turned to Croc, "Lead the way."
Croc nodded before diving once again this time with Hunter in tow. Living on an island and lots of free time made Hunter an adept swimmer and with his strength, he could swim faster than most non-Atlantean people. Croc however swam faster than anyone he's ever seen, he could even give Kaldur a run for his money. At this speed, they arrived at the pipe in no time and it did indeed have bars at the mouth of it.
Approaching the pipe he noticed that it was quite large. Four people could enter side to side if they ao choose. He placed his hands on the bars and braced his feet against the pipe and began to pull. Initially, he didn't put all of his strength into the task but when it didn't budge he decided to put his all into it. Despite this, it still didn't budge.
Gritting his teeth he let out a groan, bubbles coming out of his mouth as he did. A white glow shined in his eyes as the bars began to groan at the stress. Croc watched in awe as Wonder Warrior ripped the bars off the mouth of the pipe letting it fall to the ocean floor.
Hunter tried to breathe in exhaustion before water filled his lungs causing him to grab at his neck. Croc quickly grabbed him by the waist and flew up towards the surface. Returning to the hole he threw Hunter out of the water before he surfaced.
Popping his head out of the water he saw Hunter coughing up water with Katana and Diablo at his side. The two helped him sit up, "Are you okay?" Diablo asked concerned.
Hunter nodded, "Relatively, with the bomb in my neck and all." He said before they aided him to his feet.
"Did you open the pipe?" Katana asked.
"Yeah." Hunter nodded and smirked, "Ripped it right off. Superman's got nothing on me." He bragged before looking at Croc, "Thanks for the save, guess we're even now."
"Don't mention it, teammates remember?" Croc replied giving him a thumbs up.
"Now what?" Diablo asked.
"Now we break into the Fortress of Solitude." Katana replied, "Croc and Warrior will swim the two of us up the pipe and into the Fortress."
"What will we do when we get inside?" Hunter asked, "That's one big door, even I don't think I can knock it down."
"You won't." Katana answered, "Our mission is the get the machine, they're mission is to distract the androids."
"They can't possibly take on the six super androids by themselves." Hunter replied, "They're going to need help."
"They've got it. She's already on her way." Katana replied before approaching the water.
"Who?" Croc asked.
"Enchantress." She replied before diving into the water with Croc close behind her.
"By the gods." Hunter muttered before he dived in the water with Diablo.
"My grandson confined to a mortal prison, a human prison, and you say that I shouldn't retaliate?!" Zeus demanded as thunder and lightning shook the throne room of Zeus' palace, "These humans need to be reminded of their place!"
Diana looked up at the god who sat upon his throne from her kneeled position, "Father, it was Hunter's decision. He willfully handed himself over. It was Ares and Circe they had Cheetah poison his mind with-"
"I have little care for your childish squabbles with your brother." Zeus replied as thunder boomed through the sky, "I want Hunter freed immediately unleash the armies of the Amazons if need be. If that doesn't work I'll settle the matter myself." He sneered as his eyes lit white like lightning.
"My lord-"
"Enough Diana!" Zeus snapped with a clap of thunder, "That is my decision and my decision is fin-"
The Allfather's declaration was cut short due to the groaning of the large doors of the room opening. Diana looked over her shoulder to see who came in unannounced. She gasped as three women entered the room, a young woman, a grown woman, and an old woman. The three walked side by side holding a golden thread between them. It was the Goddesses of Fate, the three sisters Clotho the youngest, Lachesis, and Atropos the eldest.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Zeus demanded before the three sisters met his gaze.
"Careful, Zeus!" The three sisters replied, "Before you attempt to show these mortals your place you should be reminded of yours. Everything in existence, even you, is a slave to fate!"
The god king's face contorted in objection before scoffing, "Why are you here?"
"The young Amazon prince is fated for greatness. A long and hard journey he must face." Clotho said as she continued to unroll the golden thread, "Graced by Adonis, Hestia, and Aphrodite. He's grown in beauty, raised by a loving family, and loved by all who have and will meet him. Graced by Hephaestus, Athena, and Nike. He has forged new bonds of friendship that will last lifetimes, battled hard and wisely fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves, he's tasted victory and triumph and hasn't allowed it to blind him."
"Stowing away from his home and to the world of man to become a hero. Locked away with the scum of the earth to become a savior" Lachesis then said, "Sword, shield, and lasso will no longer be his weapons but words, compassion, and understanding will be his greatest tools."
"Caution, for his words, kindness and heart will not be able to touch all. For a heart within hellfire will see him a contender." Atropos warned, "Only with the power of love and war, truth and justice will he be able to stand against this darkness. All whose hearts he's touched will declare themselves for him and together they will achieve great victories but lose many battles and lose many friends." Her withered hands raised the golden thread looking into it, "Once it is all said and done, his brood will take the mantle and lead this world to a long era of peace."
Diana mulled the entire prophecy over before speaking, "How soon will the prophecy come to fruition?" She asked.
"We cannot say." Atropos shook her withered head, "To reveal such information will alter fate down an even darker path."
Thunder pounded in the sky, "What does this prophecy mean?" He demanded, "What does this mean for Olympus?"
"If you change fate you would doom Olympus for the rest of eternity." Lachesis informed, "We cannot disclose anymore." She said before the trio of sisters disappeared.
Diana looked down and clenched his fist, "I presume our audience is over, father." She said before she began to walk away.
"Where are you going, Diana?" He asked.
Diana didn't reply but she knew exactly where she's going.
Inside of the Fortress of Solitude the icy floor began to crack. A single fist popped out of the ice before a second, larger and scaly, fist popped pit next to it. Suddenly Wonder Warrior flew out of the ice with his hand in Croc's who had Katana and Diablo held against his chest. Gently putting them down Hunter fell to his knees and panted. The others besides Croc panted for air as well.
"I need to take breathing exercises," Hunter said between deep breaths.
Katana got to her feet, "We're in." She said in disbelief before she quickly got back to the matter at hand, "We need to move quickly before-"
A green flash of light blinded them causing them to flinch. Once the light faded they looked up to see the rest of the squad battered, bloodied, and bruised. The first thing Hunter noticed was Enchantress as she to him. Her glowing green eyes glare daggers at him.
"Amazon!" She hissed raising her hands towards him.
Hunter glared at her but made no move to defend himself, "Go for it, Enchantress. Before you down however remind yourself of the bomb in your neck, even you with all your power can't survive that."
The two magical beings stood off against each other in anxious silence. Finally, Rick stepped between the two, "Stand down, Enchantress!" He ordered raising the tablet in his hands showing an image of her, "Now." He glared at her when she didn't move.
The witch finally relented lowering her hands with a scoff, "I'll settle with you one day, Amazon."
"Why the hell are you here?" Croc hissed.
"We were getting our asses handed to us." Boomer replied climbing to his feet, "Those Terminator knock-offs beat the livin' shit out of us!"
"We couldn't even take one of them down." Deadshot added, "We need heavy hitters up against those things."
Hunter looked over at Croc, "I'm pretty sure they're referring to us."
"No. We'll only waste time if we fight those things." Flag declared, "Imagine if Superman shows up because we wrecked his home."
"Flag waiver got a point." Harley added getting a surprised look from everyone, "Hey even I ain't crazy enough to fight Superman."
"Agreed." Copperhead nodded.
The squad broke into a sprint as they made their way further into the Fortress. Approaching a large door Hunter flew forward and quickly forced it open. Hunter gasped in shock at the sight. When the rest of the squad caught up they saw what he was looking at.
"Oh neat!" Harley said excitedly running into the zoo.
Behind the glass wall is a biome full of alien animals. These types of creatures were beyond anything any of them could imagine. Harley ran up to the glass and pressed her face against the glass. She eyed a pink, reptilian monkey-like creature and a tree and smiled.
"Can I have one?" Harley asked desperately as she pressed her face harder against the glass.
Hunter grabbed her by the collar and lifted her off the ground, "Harley, let's remain focused on the mission, please." He said politely before putting her back down.
"Oh alright but I'm coming back to get something later." She pouted before they dashed down the hallway.
Running down the hallway they saw ran by multiple doors. A kitchen, a break room, a few bedrooms, a sunroom, but stopped once they arrived at a large steel door. Hearing the sound of six objects piercing the air Hunter quickly got to work at prying it open. When it didn't budge Croc began to help him.
"This thing is impenetrable," Hunter grunted.
"Enchantress, can you get us to the other side?" Deadshot asked.
"Such a barrier is nothing compared to my-"
Enchantress's boasting was interrupted with a deep growl. One by one the squad turned around to see their new obstacle. Looking around they found nothing but down on the floor, they found it. It was a white dog with a yellow collar with a red cape on.
"Aww, what a cutie!" Harley gushed, "I'm definitely taking you home! Come here, baby! Bud and Lou are gonna love you!" She exclaimed approaching the dog.
The dog's eye began to shine crimson red as the clown approached. Harley stopped in her tracks as the dog slowly began to stalk at her.
"That ain't no regular dog." Boomer said backing way, "That mutt's Krypto the Superdog!" He cried out in terror.
"I thought that was made up." Croc replied, "You know for the kids and stuff."
"Easy there supey poochy." Harley carefully tried to calm the dog down. It didn't work as Krypto fired a laser blast from his eyes, "Hit the deck!"
Harley dived just in time to dodge the beams but they collided with Hunter's armor sending him flying at the vault door. He bounced off the steel and fell to the floor. Hunter looked up at the dog and smirked, "Challenge accepted dog." Slipping his shield and sword off his body, "The rest of you go, I've got this."
"You're going to kill a dog?" Diablo asked sickened.
"Even I ain't that evil." Harley added.
Hunter rolled his eyes, "I'm not going to kill him. As Hercules once did to the guard dog of the Underworld, Cerberus, I will wrestle him to the ground." He explained breaking away from the group facing off against the dog.
Krypto recognized the challenged and snarled at Hunter.
"We'll snatch the machine while Warrior distracts the dog." Flag ordered before turning to Copperhead, "Stay with him in case things get ugly."
The assassin nodded before the rest of the squad disappeared in a burst of green smoke. Copperhead stepped back and leaned against the wall as the boy and the dog circled each other, "Am I seriously going to watch a boy fight a dog?"
Krypto let out a ferocious bark sending Hunter down the hall. Copperhead looked at the canine in shock. The dog has a sonic bark. The dog then turned to snarl at her. His eyes glowed red as he bared his teeth.
"Rather watch you fight the boy." She said before Hunter flew down the hall and tackled the dog.
Keeping a vice grip on Krytpo, Wonder Warrior flew down the hall and through the icy wall. Flying into the sky he grabbed the dog's cape and spun him around. Throwing Krypto down into the ice. Knowing that this wasn't over Hunter grabbed his lasso.
"Come now, hound." He muttered before he saw the blue ice below shine red.
Two laser beams suddenly shot out of the sheet of ice. Hunter quickly used his bracers to block the beams. Bursting out of the ice Krypto continued his laser assault as he barreled towards Hunter. Wonder Warrior barely dodged the attack but the dog quickly turned before snapping his jaws on his bracer.
"You're fast." Hunter commented as the dog shook his head vigorously, "But not as strong."
The dog snarled before he violently began to shake Hunter like a rag doll. Slamming his bracers together a white wave of energy knocked the dog back. Not missing the opportunity Hunter quickly whipped his lasso around Krypto's snout. Pulling the dog into his arms they began to wrestle each other before they both fell on the ice.
Tightening his grip on the lasso he calmly said, "Calm down."
The lasso glowed as Krypto ceased to struggle. Sensing that the dog has calmed down Hunter began to carefully remove the lasso from the dog's snout. Krypto silently inspected Hunter before he began to sniff the prince. Recognizing Diana's sent he pounced on Hunter and quickly began to lick his face.
Hunter laughed joyfully before he gently nudged Krypto off of him, "You're just a little sweetheart aren't you?"
Krypto's tail wagged at a blinding speed before he rolled on his back presenting his belly. Hunter smiled before he began to scratch the white fur. He continued to scratch and rub the dog's underside before six shadows appeared around them.
Looking up Wonder Warrior saw the six Superman androids looming over him. He pulled away from Krypto and stood up. Closing his fists he waited for the androids to make the first move.
The eyes of the androids glowed gold as they scanned the Amazon, "Recognized. Wonder Warrior B-04. Threat status: Friendly."
The six androids landed around Hunter before approaching him, "Wonder Warrior, what business do you have to be here?"
"Warrior, we got the machine." Rick informed over the comlink, "Enchantress is on her way to teleport you."
"Tell her to do it remotely." He whispered, "I've got company." He replied before taking out the earpiece and crushed it, "I'm here on an inside mission for Batman." He informed as he felt pressure around his body, "By the way, please tell Superman I'm sorry for the mess." He quickly added before he disappeared in a puff of green smoke.
The androids and Krypto stared at where Hunter once stood for a moment before the androids looked at the Fortress, "Sensor alarm: Vault. Missing object: Phantom Zone Projector."
