Hm, it's a been a while hasn't it? Welp, this story is finally back! Just in time for it's rather late 2nd birthday! (I first posted the original story on here August 22nd 2018) Welp, with that said enjoy the chapter!

HEADS UP: This chapter calls back to the previous two Power fanfics, being The Power and The Change. If you haven't seen those yet I highly suggest you catch up quickly so no confusion occurs. Alright now onto the chapter for real.

So far at the moment, everything was pretty much chaotic.

Elizabeth was still on her rampage, Gumball ran off, the town's citizens were getting struck by magic and getting 'killed', you name it. Misty red fire was seen all over the street.

Darwin and Anais were unfortunately still trapped, much to their dismay. They struggled in the witch's grip, trying to escape.

"What do we do now?!" Darwin questioned in fright and worry.

"I don't know! Elizabeth's grip is too strong!" Anais shouted, still trying to get out.

The evil witch cackled, using her powers to strike a nearby citizen, who then collapsed onto the sidewalk and went unconscious. People screamed with fright by this scene, as Elizabeth continued to do this to other bystanders.

Anais then scowled. "We probably would of been saved by now if Gumball didn't run off like a coward."

"Hey don't say that! He was just.. Scared. I mean, you'd probably be freaking out too if you had to defeat some witch that's threatening to destroy your town." Darwin said, earning an angry glare from his sister.

"That's just it! He basically left us to die here!"

"Anais it's not-"

She didn't hear the fish, letting out her frustrations. "Because of him, all these bad situations keep happening! If it weren't for him overreacting about that whole birthday thing, none of this would of been!"

"Anais stop!"

The pink rabbit quickly ducked with alarm, as red misty light was blasted towards her. She looked surprised by the reaction, slightly widening her eyes.

"W-Wait what?..." Darwin was horrified, realizing what had happened. His effected eye soon flickered a shade of red.

"Hold on.." Anais paused, briefly thinking. "If you did that, it means.. Somehow you have those powers!"

Darwin nearly shrieked, moving slightly in the grip. "So what I have to go against that witch now?!"

"Wait Darwin calm down, there's probably a better solution!" Anais said, trying to reassure him. "For one, we got the powers back, which is helpful in our case. Perhaps the powers could somehow be transferred to Gumball!"

"And.. Then he can stop Elizabeth and save Elmore!" Darwin finished, still freaked out, but more or less relieved.

"Wait what?!"

Darwin and Anais flinched, fear in their eyes as they realized they had just said all that out loud.

"Um.. Nothing we didn't say anything.." Darwin said, pretty worried about what was going to happen. "Just um, go back to destroying stuff.."

Elizabeth only scowled, the dragon's eyes narrowing with hers. "Lies." Her hand lit up with red misty fire, as the dragon's fist came closer to her. She soon almost grinned seeing the two panic.

"Darwin!" Anais shouted, as they struggled in the witch's grip. "Go get Gumball, now!"

"But we're stuck!" Darwin shouted back, which made the bunny face palm with frustration.

The two soon paused, hearing faint shouting from down below. Looking down, they spotted Penny amongst the crowd. She looked about ready to shape shift into something out of anger, her form changing every few seconds. "Put them down you witch!"

"And what are you going to do about it?" Elizabeth questioned, looking rather furious herself.

Penny then turned into some kind of bird, flying up and quickly lowering towards Darwin and Anais, pulling them out with the strength her form gave her. "Hang on!"

They obeyed and held onto her talons, as she flew for safety. Elizabeth tried to throw her powers at them, Penny dodging the attacks as best as she could. The witch scowled once more, her attention back to the town.

"Thanks Penny!" Darwin said.

"No problem. So where did Gumball go?" Penny asked, shapeshifting into her orange-red dragon form so Darwin and Anais could be on properly. The two climbed onto her back, holding on tightly in order not to fall off.

"We don't know yet," Anais replied. "He just ran off."

"There's not much places to run off to.. Maybe the forest?" Penny landed gracefully towards the ground, the three now near the Forest of Doom. "It wouldn't hurt to look in there."

They stepped inside, Penny now back to normal, being pretty wary of what creatures could be in here.

"Gumball are you in here?" Darwin called, his words echoing through the trees.

"Yeah."

He flinched, startled by the response, but relieved. Darwin looked up, seeing Gumball sitting up in a tree, his red glowing eyes easy to pinpoint. "Oh there are you are."

"Gumball what the heck was that?!" Anais cut in angrily, clenching her fists. "You left us with that witch!"

Gumball rested his head on his knees, avoiding her glare, almost afraid to see it. "I'm sorry Anais.. I just.. I didn't know what else to do.."

"Well you could of helped-"

"Anais please," Darwin cut his little sister off, giving a sorrowful look. She then fell silent, regretting her words. "Gumball, um.. Can you come down? I think we found out how to stop Elizabeth." The fish soon looked back up at his brother.

However, Gumball didn't climb down. "How are we supposed to stop her? I don't have my powers.."

"But I do."

"Wait what?" The cat was surprised, and rather shocked. "How?!"

"When Elizabeth hit him with that red mist and gave him that um.. Eye.. She must've gave him those powers by accident without realizing it." Anais explained.

"Which means, you can get your powers back, and save the town!" Darwin concluded.

"Are you sure?.. What if it doesn't work?.." Gumball asked, now concerned.

"There's a likely chance it may or may not work, but it's worth a shot. You two have to somehow transfer it back." Anais said.

Reluctant, Gumball climbed down the tree, only to shriek when he noticed Penny standing there. "Wait you brought Penny?!" He quickly hid behind the said tree.

"Gumball it's alright, I'm not afraid of you." Penny reassured.

"You aren't?" The cat slightly revealed his face from behind the wood, worried as he saw her quietly gasp by his appearance. "But.. Why did look at me like that at school before?.."

Penny sighed. "I'm sorry I hurt you, I just.. I kind of wanted to give you a little space after all that happened.. I really didn't know what else to do.."

Gumball finally came out from behind the tree, reluctantly coming towards her. He soon stopped, the two now face to face. "So you don't think I'm a freak?"

"Of course not," Penny replied, as she held the red cat's hands. "And you never were one in the first place."

"Okay, so.. What do we do?" Darwin asked, interrupting the moment.

"I take it.. We do that thing Elizabeth did before with me." Gumball responded, letting go of Penny. He was now standing in front of his brother. "I'm not sure if this will work but I guess we better try.. So.. Close your eyes, okay?"

Darwin nodded, and closed them.

"Alright, here goes nothing.." Gumball shut his eyes as well, lifting his hand up. Red light glowed around Darwin, and began heading towards the red cat, the mist going into him. Sudden winds picked up speed, leaves blowing around them, as Gumball opened his eyes, which began to glow a bright red, brighter than what his eyes were shown before at the moment. Penny and Anais gasped watching the sight, stepping back in caution. Darwin struggled to stay standing, as the power was taken out of him.

Meanwhile, a group of men wandered the woods, being police officers. "Come on men," One of them, the leader, said. "They're around here somewhere."

The men stopped, seeing the sight before them behind some bushes. Some of them gasped with shock, while the others looked horrified. The main man, showed anger. "You!"

Gumball blinked rather quickly in surprise, as he dropped his hand, ending the "spell". Darwin blinked unsteadily, and fell to the ground with a thump. The cat's eyes widened in fear, as he bent down at his brother's side. "Darwin!"

He shook him back and forth, as the officers drew near, but nothing happened. Tears appeared in Gumball's eyes, as he tried desperately to wake him up. "No please Darwin wake up! Wake up!" His brother did not stir.

It felt as if the atmosphere had changed cold and dark. Distraught, Gumball held Darwin close, as tears streamed down his face. This was all his fault.

"You monster!" The leader of the cops shouted angrily, pointing at the red cat with rage. "First Westly, and now that poor kid! You should be the one dead!"

Gumball's fear returned, as he began scooting back, only to scream when he saw other cops behind him. "N-No I didn't mean to.. I'm not a monster.."

The officers circled around him, closing in. His emotions were in a frenzy, as he tried to block out their harsh words, which rang through his ears. He was nearly petrified. This was all practically what he had feared of before he sort of revealed his powers, what he desperately didn't want to happen. But here he was, scared out of his mind.

"Gumball!" Penny and Anais tried to intervene, but the policemen wouldn't stop.

It was all too much to bear, and he couldn't take it.

Gumball let out a loud blood curdling scream, as a huge wave of red light blasted out of him. Nobody around him had time to react, as everything turned bright red. Gumball took stuttered breaths, as he opened his eyes, hearing a faint sound of crackling fire.

He gasped, seeing the sight. The forest around him was on fire, most of it burned off to a charred black, all except the patch of grass that he was on. Frightened, he stood up. The policemen were on the ground, their faces burned pretty badly. Seeing that, Gumball quickly turned to Anais and Penny. They didn't suffer as bad as the men did, only showing a few burn marks, as they were face first on the charred grass.

"W-What did I do?..."

Gumball was more or less shocked that he had the energy to do such thing. He thought it wasn't actual fire, fire. He bent down, trying to get the two girls to wake up. "Please don't be dead.."

They didn't wake. "Come on.." Gumball tried to do the same thing he did before to get Rob awake back at the hospital, hoping it would work for multiple people. After a few minutes of bringing out light, he heard a few coughs from Anais.

"What just happened?..." She questioned, sitting up tiredly. Feeling the burn marks, and seeing the scene before her, a look of shock appeared on her face. "Wait.. Gumball? What did you do?"

"I.. Don't exactly know.." Gumball replied, just as confused as her. He soon noticed Penny had woken up as well. "So.. You guys okay?.." He really hoped it didn't hurt them. Both girls nodded, which eased his worries. However, he still remembered that Darwin might still be dead. His fear soon came back. "I screwed up bad didn't I?.."

"No you didn't screw anything up," Anais answered quickly, trying to reassure him. "We don't know for certain if he's really, well, you know. It might just be taking a long time for him to wake up."

The red feline glanced over at Darwin, who had been placed facedown into the charred grass. 'Please don't be dead dude..' He thought to himself, mostly out of fear.

Gumball is that you?

Gumball almost lost his balance, surprised by the sudden voice, scarily sounding like his brother's. "Wait what Darwin how are you-"

"Um.. Gumball? He isn't awake yet." Anais raised an eyebrow, confused by his behavior. "Are you okay?.."

"But I thought I just heard him-" He cut off, hearing it again.

Where are you?! It's so dark in here I can't see anything!

The cat grew horrified, his eyes widening as he heard the voice. "Darwin's in my head."

"Wait what how?" Penny questioned, just as confused as him.

Anais soon connected the dots to what had happened. "I think you accidently put Darwin's conscience in your mind when you tried to get your powers back!"

WAIT WHAT?!

"What are we going to do?! I don't know how to fix it!" Gumball was panicking, not noticing Anais and Penny's surprised looks.

"Uh.. What just happened?.."

He looked up, now earning the same reaction. There in front of him was an almost ghost looking Darwin made of red misty light, glancing around in confusion at the environment.

"Why's the woods on fire? And how am I like this?.."

"Ok so maybe I had a little teeny tiny breakdown 'cuz some police guys were here, but it doesn't matter! We need a way to fix this before stuff gets worse!" Gumball reached his hand out, feeling it phase through the goldfish, now absolutely panicking.

"Well you got your powers back right? We have to get going." Anais said, catching his attention. "I'm sure we'll figure out how to get Darwin back to normal too afterward."

"Wait we can't just leave these police officers here!" Darwin quickly cut in, pointing towards the men that were still facedown in the dirt. "We can deal with them later there's not that much time!" Anais replied. "Gumball, are you ready now?"

The cat took a sharp inhale, letting it out as he slightly gained more confidence. "Okay, let's do this."

In determination, the four began heading back into Elmore, taking Darwin's actual body with them. They, but mostly Gumball, was finally ready to take Elizabeth on.
