Chapter Thirty-Eight

With a sigh Haley paused at the door, her eyes straying to her friend's front door, it was Friday again and Haley had been more than surprised when Brooke had requested their Friday dinner be at her own residence instead of the more often location of Haley and Nathan's. The Scott family had chosen to take the short stroll to Brooke's on foot, there were no cars in the driveway which for Haley didn't bode well.

Lucas should have picked Noah up from school today or he was picking him up tonight, Haley wasn't sure which yet assumed Lucas was dropping by to grab his son because usually it was the one who had Noah with them that always came on Friday's. And neither Haley or Nathan expected to see both Brooke and Lucas especially after last Friday, in fact Haley had half expected Lucas to ask for her to pick Noah up for him.

"Lucas isn't here" Nathan commented as they stood waiting to ring the door, their minds on the same thing.

"Did you expect him to show after last week?"

Nathan didn't reply, he went to ring the bell but paused, he turned to Haley "I don't get why Brooke chose her place tonight"

"Maybe she wanted to invite Clay" Haley rolled her eyes.

"What is your problem with Clay?" there was a little bite to Nathan's tone after hearing his wife's disdain for his newest friend.

With a sigh of his own Jamie walked between his parents and rang the doorbell himself.

Nathan and Haley were still having a friendly argument when Brooke opened the door, "hey, you guys made it, great" and grinning she threw her arms around a stunned Haley and Nathan.

Not to be ignored Jamie gave a fake cough and Brooke restrained herself from picking up Jamie who was starting to get a little heavy for her, choosing instead to bring him in for a tight hug, playfully rocking him a little too roughly, "I made your favourite"

"Yes!" Jamie pumped his fist, "taco's!"

They all walked inside and Haley noticed the formal dining room was set up for guests, though they all walked by it towards the door leading to the kitchen, "we're still cooking, come on through. Anyone want a drink?"

"Yes please" Haley was dying for a glass of wine, and as if psychic Brooke poured two glasses of wine for them and handed Nathan a beer, she took a sip from her own glass as she stirred the browning meat.

"Need any help?" Haley asked and was grateful when Brooke shook her head, her loose waves shaking over her face.

"Everything's covered" though Brooke didn't move closer to the knife and chopping board on the kitchen island, she took a leisurely sip of her own drink. Haley narrowed her eyes, something was different about Brooke, a little too smug.

It had been a quiet week, neither Haley or Nathan had heard much from Brooke and Lucas who had seemed to go from avoiding each other to avoiding the rest of the world. Haley sympathised with her friend though she wasn't currently impressed with Brooke's games or Lucas drinking his woes away. And this Brooke was too chirpy, too smug, and Haley was suspicious. Her mind frowned hoping it wasn't the reappearance of benefits in Brooke's relationship with Clay causing that confident smile on Brooke's lips and sway to her hips.

About to say something Haley opened her mouth only to stop when Lucas suddenly appeared from the walk-in pantry, "I found the onions!" and before anyone could really comprehend his presence Lucas was by Brooke's side, his arms casually wrapping around her waist as he pressed a quick kiss to the side of her mouth, and then he moved to start chopping the onion in his hand.

The glass in Haley's hand slipped from her fingers, smashing to the ground, dark wine spreading across the tiles, "shit" but her eyes didn't stay on the mess she made instead she stared at Brooke and Lucas, "what just happened?"

Her wide eyes couldn't decide which friend to look at, Lucas and Brooke briefly looked at each other before facing Haley, they didn't speak, they simply leant against each other as if it was the most natural thing in the world. And smiled.

"What is happening!" Haley's voice came again.

Looking up at the ceiling, hiding his smirk, Nathan took a sip of his own beer.

It was Jamie who answered, a cheeky grin on his face, "I believe Uncle Lucas kissed Aunt Brooke"

Haley's mouth parted more, Nathan chuckled, "I saw the same thing"

Appearing unnoticed Noah began to clean up the mess by Haley's feet, he sighed, "they do that a lot now that they are dating"

Suddenly Haley blinked, her shock disappearing as she looked at her nephew, "Noah, let me get that. I am so sorry" and she took over from the boy.

Watching the scene, the new couple tightened their hold on each other, Nathan wasn't surprised, he had known it was only a matter of time, "I'm really happy for you guys, we need more good news in this town"

Unlike his smiling father, Jamie stepped closer to his godparents, arms crossed, with his best serious face on though Lucas and Brooke knew he was holding in a smile waiting to burst. The small boy lifted his blonde brows at his uncle, blue eyes met blue, "so… you like Aunt Brooke?"

Lucas shook his head, "no" he gave his girlfriend another gentle kiss to the side of her mouth, "I love her"

And hands now empty Haley found herself giving a little clap, her voice filled with emotion and higher pitched than normal, "when did this happen?"

"About a week ago" Brooke shrugged, "you know how it goes, you fall in love, spend eight to nine years dancing around each other, one secret kid, a few weddings, car crashes, heart attacks, tabloid fonder, blah blah blah, and then one day you look at each other and it's like-" she gave a little sneer, shrugging one shoulder, "-you'll do" and then she grinned unable to keep her joy from her face, and she rubbed her nose against him.

"I'll do, huh?"

"There's definitely some perks for me in this" her playful tone turned husky as she replied quietly.

Nathan chuckled again, "at least we now know why you too haven't been around much lately"

"Ah the honeymoon phase" Haley sighed dreamily.

Jamie gasped, "you're married!"

"No, no, no" Brooke was quick to object, "let's not get ahead of ourselves"

"You've got a boyfriend" Jamie teased; the boy even blushed a bit.

Though Brooke cringed at the word, she looked around the adults, "are we too old for that now? Surely there's a different word? Something more… mature"

Noah answered, in all seriousness, "companion" and the adults all gave different smiles at the choice.

"Not that mature" Brooke said. She stepped away from Lucas and briefly told him with her eyes that he should continue his chopping, and she reached for her wine glass, "everything I think of seems so sl-uh-you know too inappropriate"

"Of course, it does" Haley rolled her eyes, "did you consider the term partner?"

Brooke's eyes sparkled, she put on an exaggerated voice, "hello, I'd like you to meet my partner, Lucas" she shrugged, "that's not too bad"

"Better half?" Lucas quipped.

"Oh, that's pushing it" it was Brooke's turn to roll her eyes. "Anyway" she turned away from Lucas, "let me get you a new glass"

"Oh my, Brooke, I really am sorry about that"

"That's okay" Brooke chuckled and quickly retrieved a new glass and filled it, "here you go"

Haley lifted the glass up, "a toast then" the others lifted their own drinks, Jamie and Noah met each other's eyes and both left the room, Haley grinned "to the happy couple finally putting themselves and the rest of us out of our misery"

"Here, here" Nathan cheered. The wine and beer glasses clinked; Lucas replaced his drink with the knife again "now out of my kitchen so I can finish dinner"

"Whose kitchen?"

"Yours, my love, but tonight it's mine and you are far too distracting" he pulled her in for another kiss, this one more intense, quickly escalating. Nathan cleared his throat and Lucas forced himself to pull himself away, "see what I mean" his husky voice croaked.

Nathan and Haley turned away from the couple and took their drinks with them, "they're disgusting" Haley mocked.

"I still can't believe you didn't say anything!" Haley hissed, still a little shocked, as the two women sat next to each other, "You have to tell me how it all happened"

"I'll pass on the details" Nathan huffed imagining they included mental pictures he did not want of his brother, and he'd already been scarred enough from Lucas' drunken confessions the week before.

Haley sent her husband a little look then smiled at Brooke, "coffee catch up this week?"

"I fly out to New York first thing Monday and well… I plan to be busy this weekend"

"How are things going with work?" Haley changed the subject, for Nathan's benefit who was looking more and more uncomfortable, though Haley smiled and sent Brooke a knowing look.

There was a pause, Brooke had some more wine, "Baby Brooke is doing well, we're working on expanding the line to boys' clothes" though the look on her face wasn't happy.

"You don't look happy?"

"One of the focus' next week will be restructuring the stores, the stock, staff, perhaps a few closures" Brooke sighed, "and now Victoria is talking about a cosmetics line"

"You have been on fire lately"

"Work's always a good distraction" Brooke agreed knowing that the last two years she had poured her breaking heart into her work as well as her son.

Fashion wasn't a subject Nathan was interested in though he tried to pay attention, "will you be going to New York more then?"

"Sometimes, a lot of stuff can be done online and over video conference, but I'm meant to be the face of the company so it's still important I'm there in person, reassure the board, let my presence be felt and seen…" and her mind went to her mother, she shook the thoughts away "but everything's really good, busy but good. How about you?"

Haley was silent, she brushed a piece of imaginary lint from her trousers and was unexpectantly quiet, Brooke simply kinked her brow and the two women each sook a sip of wine waiting for one to speak. Haley placed the glass down softly, "I've been talking to Peyton"

"Oh" Brooke gulped, "how is she?"

"Better, I think." she frowned, "In any case she's working more again, and well… she asked me if I wanted to be her partner, make it official"

"That's great!" Brooke was genuinely happy for both of the other women, "You've practically helped run the place ever since-" a painful twinge had Brooke stop herself from mentioning Peyton's pregnancy.

Knowing what Brooke meant Haley nodded, "Yes though I am still hesitant, I guess I always half expected for Peyton to return to Tree Hill but she's already set up another office out East, signed a couple of bands and wants me to run this side of things"

"You should do it, you've said you have loved getting back into your music, and we all know how you love bossing people around"

"Us Scott's love bossy women" Lucas reappeared, serving plates in hand, he stood next to Brooke and lowered them onto the table, before placing his hands onto Brooke's shoulders.

Brooke covered his left hand with her own, looking up over her shoulder, "well someone has to keep you inline" they shared another quick kiss and then Lucas left again, he returned a few more times as the others talked about Red Bedroom records. Lucas placed the meat and taco shells down, now the table resembled a buffet as he finally sat down on the other side of Brooke across from Haley.

"I'll get the boys" Nathan offered, leaving the other three alone.

There was a comfortable silence as Haley observed her two best friends, a warm smile on her face that grew and grew as she looked at them more, she almost squealed, "so, which one of you finally came to your senses and did the love declaration?"

"Me" they both replied simultaneously, Brooke and Lucas met each other's gaze, she kinked her brow, he lifted his, "you?" again they spoke together.

Brooke shook her head, turning her head to the other side of her where Haley was, "No, it was me, I went to his house, he was drunk as a skunk, and I-"

"Wait!" Lucas held up his hands, "a week before that it was me at your door, with one of my infamous I love you, Brooke, speeches"

"Yes but-"

"No buts, the only difference is when you declared your love, I had the good sense not to kick you out unlike you" Lucas' brow rose further.

Haley chuckled as their attention was only on each other and their playful banter.

Lucas shrugged, "so the love declaration point goes to me"

"Ever think I'm just better at it than you?" Brooke placed her elbow on the table, lifted her fist to rest her chin upon it as she eyed Lucas.

"Let's not rewrite history here"

"Me? Rewrite history? You're the one stealing my points, I declared my love and you succumbed to my irresistible charms-" she stopped when Lucas' laughter loudly interrupted her.

He pointed a finger at her, "I declared my love first and you held out on me" his brows lifted, "ergo, I was the one who came to their senses"

Their faces were leaning closer and closer as they argued, "should I give you a medal?"

"I do like gold"

"Perhaps bronze"

"That seems unfair"

"You're the one bragging about it taking you what-" she kinked her brow again, "eight years to come to your senses"

"And yet I still beat you"

Haley watch amused as her two smiling friends were focused on each other, Brooke was about to continue the banter when Lucas stopped her before she could say anything else, stealing her words with a kiss.

Returning to the group, Nathan rolled his eyes "guys, get a room" and he covered Jamie's eyes, the boy scrunched up his face.

Noah simply took his seat, "I told you it was a lot"

Once Nathan removed his hands from over his eyes, Jamie carefully watched his godparents, they had stopped kissing but the boy frowned at the look they were giving each other, he silently took the seat next to his mother.

"I think you've broken my son's heart" Nathan chuckled.

Jamie's eyes widened, "DAD!"

"Why's that?" Lucas looked at his nephew who was no longer looking so cheeky, "what's wrong Jimmy-Jam?"

"You stole his girlfriend" Nathan laughed, "Jamie had grand plans for Brooke to be the future Mrs James Lucas Scott"

The seven-year-old blushed, looking down at the table, and Brooke placed her hand over her heart aww, "that's so sweet"

"Dad" Jamie gritted his teeth, "you're embarrassing me!" he wouldn't look at his godmother, he kept his now angry eyes on his father "and I told you I'm going to marry Sam now"

"Well, he definitely has a type" Lucas laughed.

Noah was staring at Jamie aghast, he blinked then looked around the table, Noah shook his head, "can we eat now?" and he kept slightly shaking his head when Brooke gave the okay and he began to construct his dinner.

While the others focused on the food Brooke sent Lucas a sideways look and smiled, "looks like you have competition" she whispered.

He whispered back to her teasingly, "Mrs James Lucas Scott suits you" he moved his eyes away from her and reached out for a taco shell, adding casually "if you drop the James part of it" he didn't look at her to see her reaction.

Four pairs of adult hands drummed against the clear dining table, growing louder and faster, Jamie kneeled on his chair, his voice loudly exaggerated, "aaaaand tonight ladies and gentlemen we welcome you to Scott Family Games Night! And for the first time we have-" Jamie suddenly stopped, his face scrunching up as he turned to his cousin and sighed, "do I have to call it a pop quiz?"

"It sounds more entertaining than just quiz"

Jamie looked down at the ground, his eyes wide, "sounds more like homework" he muttered under his breath. After a brief pause the boy cleared his throat, returned to his showman voice, and opened his arms wide, "THE POP QUIZ!"

"Couples edition" Noah added with a nod from where he stood by Jamie's side, "The teams are…" he narrowed his eyes as he read "Brucas and Naley"

As Brooke smiled Haley sighed and lifted her eyes to the ceiling.

Noah continued, "we have compiled a list of personal questions and have with us your answers. Your team mate has to correctly guess what answer you wrote down to receive a point, if you guess incorrectly you lose a point-"

Jamie took over as Noah paused to take in a breath, "the other team can stop you getting a point if they correctly guess before you but they don't get a point, if they buzz in and get it wrong the other team gets two points if they get it right"

Brooke bounced in her seat, "how do we buzz in?"

"Hit the table and scream buzz" Jamie answered simply.

Next to Haley Nathan clapped his hands together, pumping himself up, "we've got this!"

"Game on" Brooke grinned, wrapping an arm around Lucas, her eyes trained on where Jamie and Noah waited.

The two boys did a quick game of paper, scissors, rock, Jamie winning, "Ladies first" he picked up the orange pile of cards, shuffled them messily, and looked at his mother, "First question, are you ready?"

"Yes" Brooke loudly proclaimed for Haley.

Jamie cleared his throat again, "what is Dad's favourite colour?"

Haley went to open her mouth when Lucas and Brooke both banged the table, Lucas saying buzz a moment before Brooke, "Black" Lucas proclaimed proudly.

Three pairs of eyes turned to him, Brooke shook her head, "black? Black?"

"What would you have said?"

"Red!" Haley and Brooke both answered at the same time.

Jamie exclaimed happily, "two points for Team Naley!"

Nathan and Haley high fived while Brooke gave Lucas a little glare. Noah picked up the yellow pile, shuffled it and lifted a card, "Mom, what is Dad's favourite breakfast?"

"FRENCH TOAST!" Brooke screamed and stood up, knocking her chair to the floor, she hugged Lucas without even knowing if she was correct.

Noah nodded, "one point to Team Brucas"

"Yes" Brooke hissed and she ignored her toppled chair, perching comfortably on Lucas' lap instead.

Next Jamie picked up from the green pile, "Dad, your turn" and then he started to speak slowly, "What. Was. Mom's. First. Pet?"

Nathan raised his hand as he proclaimed, "Bunny!"

"Bunny the bunny" Haley smiled kissing her husband.

"That brings Team Naley to three points!"

Not missing a beat Noah picked up from the white cards, "Dad" the attention turned to him, "who was Mom's first kiss?"

"Oh" Haley hit the table "BUZZ! Bradley Holt"

Noah shook his head.

Shocked Haley shook her head, mouth dropping, "No! the first boy she kissed was Bradley Holt" she turned to Brooke, "that's what you told me"

Nathan smirked, "ha, I know this one"

Flicking her hair over her shoulder Brooke kinked her brow at Haley, "that was the first boy I kissed" and then she looked at Lucas, staring into his eyes trying to communicate with him.

"OH!" his eyes widened, "really?" he let his head fall back and groaned, "Peyton?"

"Two more points for Team Brucas"

Three more rounds and they were still even, when a familiar question came up, Jamie looked at it and simply shook his head before saying, "okay. Who was Mum's first kiss?"

Excited when Nathan paused Brooke jumped up from Lucas' lap, "Skills! Skills! Antwon Taylor!"

"You didn't buzz" Jamie was smug as he turned away from Brooke and looked to his dad, "Dad?"

Nathan sent a surprised look at Haley, "Skills?"

Brooke stamped her foot, "that's not fair!" she pouted, "he didn't even know"

"Rules are rules" Noah said, "Naley are now on eight points"

"Skills?" Nathan repeated, his face cringing.

Meanwhile Brooke was looking at her own son, "whose side are you on?"

"Yours" Noah smiled, "however, I won't cheat. Remember to buzz"

"Yeah, remember to buzz" Jamie stuck his tongue out at Brooke and she stuck hers right back out at him.

Nathan still had his eye on his wife, she chuckled, "Mouth's thirteenth birthday party, it was spin the bottle"

"Hey Nathan" Lucas joked, "Skills has kissed both your wife and your mom"

"Dude, shut up!"

Lucas just laughed harder.

"Back to the game" Jamie's loud voice stopped Lucas' laughter and the blonde turned serious.

Noah grabbed a white card, "what was Mom's first job?"

Lucas' lips popped while Brooke stared intensely at him, she bit her lip as Lucas went to speak but paused. Haley and Nathan started whispering to each other. Nathan did the buzz, "Sales clerk. Do we need the store's name?"

"Yes" Noah replied.

Haley answered for them and Noah shook his head, Lucas slowly turned his face from Brooke to Noah, "her first job was CEO and founder of Brookies"

"Fu-uh-dge, I forgot about that. She made my Mom buy a dozen of those things, made my dog vomit" Nathan gave a shirt laugh.

"Even again, eight each" Noah added it to the score board.

"Okay Mom, you got this" Jamie picked up a card, "Dad's least favourite food?"

"Can I change my answer to Brookies?" Nathan raised his hand politely, a small smile on his face when Brooke threw one of the used cards at his face, "hey!" he threw it back at her.

Haley rolled her eyes, "he hates bananas"

"Nine points for Naley" Jamie did a little dance in celebration.

Ignoring Jamie Noah continued, "Mum, your turn. What does Dad's tattoo mean?"

Lucas smirked and looked at Brooke who sat in his lap, her eyes as big as they could be as she sucked in her lips and tried to look as innocent as possible, Lucas simply raised his brow and waited.

When Brooke didn't answer straight away Haley frowned, she softly banged the table, "buzz" the word lacked enthusiasm, "Lucas' tattoo means fun" her eyes narrowed, she turned her attention to her son "and Jamie if you ever come home with a tattoo you'll never leave the house again"

"Gee's" he shook his head, "okay, Naley blocks Brucas' point and take the lead"

"No" Noah kept his eyes on the card, "that's not right"

"Nuh, Uncle Luke's tattoo means fun, everyone knows that. Aunt Brooke took him to get it on their first date, she said it was because he's too broody and he needed a little fun in his life"

"That's not what is written here" Noah said confidently.

Lucas kept his blue eyes on Brooke, he smiled slowly, "anything to confess?"

"I have no idea what you mean" and she tried to contain her grin, she gave a little shrug, "are you saying it doesn't mean fun?"

"So that's your story, you're saying you don't know" his chin lifted, "remember if we get it wrong we lose a point, do you want to give them the lead?"

Brooke bit her lip, and then she let it go, her shoulder dropped, "fine" she rolled her eyes, "it means, to have, to like possess or whatever"

"I knew you knew!" Lucas jumped a little, excited he'd gotten it out of her, "you actually branded me"

With an exaggerated roll of the eyes, Brooke sighed, "no I didn't, please, you needed to have fun but you were so happy when they finished the symbol, trying to act so brave, I didn't have the heart to tell you there was more"

"That's your story?"

"Yes" she faced him but her eyes were looking to the side, "besides we all know the more you have the more fun you can have"

"Sure, sure" Lucas drawled.

The smile at his parent's win was small for Noah, his lips twitched and he quickly hid it to announce the new score, "Brucas' score stands at ten"

Jamie grumbled and reached for his last available card, "last round. Dad, your turn"

"Don't buzz" Brooke whispered into Lucas' ear and he nodded. There talking earned a glare from Jamie, who shushed them before turning his attention back to his father.

"Dad… what's Mom's favourite colour"

"Oh, come on" Brooke dropped her arms, "that's too easy for the last one"

"Nuh-huh, you guys already answered that one" Jamie sternly scolded his aunt,

"Rigged!" Brooke called out instead, "I demand a recount"

Haley scoffed, "let him answer"

They all looked at Nathan who shifted uncomfortably, Brooke's indignation disappeared and she began to smile, "oh my god, he doesn't know!"

Brooke bounced up and down, a little too much in her excitement and Lucas let out a rough breath, he groaned in pain "oof"

"Buzz" she banged the table three times for good measure, "it's pink, it's totally pink!" she stood up and grabbed Lucas' hand, pulling him up, "we win, we win, we in!"

"Not yet" Jamie bit out, "It's not pink"

Mid spin Brooke froze, "huh?"

"It's not pink" Jamie repeated. And everyone eyed Nathan again. He closed his eyes for a moment and opened them to see five pairs of eyes staring at him, Haley gave a laugh.

Nathan slowly, carefully, with no confidence in his tone at all, finally answered, "blue?"

With a look of utter disappointment Jamie closed his eyes, reluctantly saying "No"

"Is it red?" Lucas asked, "your bridesmaid dresses were red"

Haley sighed, shaking her head, "because it's Brooke and Peyton's favourite colour, and Nathan's"

"Mom doesn't have a favourite colour" Jamie slapped the card down.

There was silence, Brooke looked around, "they lose a point right? So… we won right?"

"But you also got it wrong" Nathan pointed out and the adults turned to the children.

Jamie and Noah span around so their backs were facing their parents, heads close together as they discussed the scenario. They each nodded and turned back around, "we've decided that because both teams guessed wrong the score for Team Naley doesn't change" Jamie let everyone know.

Noah added on, "Team Brucas is still in the lead by one point. If Naley buzzes in Brucas win, if Lucas answers correctly Brucas win, and if he answers incorrectly then they will draw the game".

There was silence as Noah picked up the last card, he looked up at his father, "how tall is Mom?"

"Oh, come on, who chose that question!" Brooke sighed forgetting that was the only one he had left from what she'd filled out, but before she could think anymore negatively Brooke pulled Lucas against her so he could measure her against his own height. Lucas chuckled as Brooke lifted his hand to the top of her head against his, she reached his eyes.

Brooke gave a little cuss and stepped back to take her heels off before fumbling again with Lucas' hand, "Brooke" he laughed as she tried to remain as still as possible and telling him to figure it out.

Watching them Nathan laughed, he relaxed back into the chair, "don't sweat it, Davis, you win either way"

"A tie is not winning when there's only one other team" she shot back, "come on, Luke, we have this in the bag!"

Lucas rolled his head back, "fine, 5 foot 5" he guessed.

From where he stood looking over his cousin's shoulder, Jamie grinned "close but not close. It's a tie"

Brooke's face fell but then she cheered up, "is there a prize? Ice cream?"

"I do have a prize but only one, I didn't take into account the possibility of a tie" Noah pursed his lips in thought, "you will have to share it" and he disappeared briefly, on his return Noah plopped the heavy book down on the table, equal distance between the two couples.

Haley frowned, "a Bible?"

The colour drained from Brooke's face, and Lucas reached for the book, a loud rough laugh escaping from deep inside his lungs.

-x-

An hour after Noah was in bed Lucas stood by Brooke's king bed, he turned down the duvet, smiling across at her, "does this mean I don't have to sneak away before sunrise?" he moved onto the bed, kneeling atop the mattress.

"I guess you could stay" Brooke sent him a playful look, slipping naked into bed. Neither one had bothered to dress after their shower, she lifted the sheet covering herself, it pooled below her breast as she stretched down on her back. Crawling on his knees Lucas made his way to her, reaching his destination and propping himself on all fours above her, a hand on each side of her face, "Imagine, the two of us sleeping in, a slow morning, nowhere to be, nowhere to go…" his eyes turned smoky.

"I guess you could stay for breakfast. French toast with maple syrup" her fingers danced a path up his arm, her eyes following their movement.

"And blueberries?" he leant down.

"Hmmm" Brooke made a sound of agreement as their lips met, a leisurely kiss, her fingers reached his blonde hair and Brooke pulled Lucas down, his legs sliding along hers, one slipping between hers unconsciously using his body to spread Brooke's thighs apart fitting himself more comfortably against her. Brooke gave a deep moan as Lucas changed the tempo of the kiss, she locked a leg around him, leaning up into the kiss and then Brooke flipped them straddling Lucas by the waist, palms spread on his chest keeping him in place.

Lucas grabbed Brooke's hips, his eyes straying down her body lingering over each inch before looking at where his skin met hers, his fingers clenched tighter. There was something in the way she rotated her hips, her belly giving a seductive sway, when he spoke his eyes were still low, his voice barely above a broken whisper, "you can't hide us away anymore" he trailed back up to meet the glossy hazel green of her eyes where she looked down at him, "you're stuck with me now"

"That's good" she grinned as she lifted her body up, "because I'm not planning on you going anywhere quite yet"

Lucas forgot what he was going to say after that, his mind and body not on the past or the future, only the here and now.
