This chapter will be full of tensity and horror. fitting for this month. Consider it an early Halloween chapter. If anyone has seen Ducktales (which both Charm and I highly encourage). Then you know the original Halloween tradition emerged.

Sabine was lying down in her bed trying to find some rest next to Kanan who laid pale and unmoving in the bed. Her mind though could not find rest inside her mind. There she was plagued with images of Kanan being tortured right in front of her, unable to stop it. His scream seemed to echo in her mind as she for her inner eye saw him sitting on the ground crying out as the collar was used on him. The electricity piercing through him just because she would not tell. It was horrific to watch but it was far worse than the other memory that she tried to keep out of her mind. The problem though was no matter how much she tried to suppress that memory, somehow it would still resurface. 'choose' the Grand Inquisitor said to her as he held Kanan's hand. Sabine desperately tried to block the memory out. Instead she looked over at Kanan and saw how he laid quietly and still in pain. His face was pale as not enough was pumped through his body. It was painful to watch, her hand went to his torso which was just as bad, filled with cuts and bruises, small tremors were shown from time to time. Sabine tried to picture Kanan like when he had been playing with her in the mud. It was hard to believe it was only a few days ago and now … this.

Sabine couldn't help but feel guilt ridden as she looked at Kanan's broken fingers. At the moment she just wanted to protect Ezra, but Kanan was the one who suffered, because she had to make a choice.

Kanan's fingers were broken … because of her. Why? Why had she been so stupid to do this to him? Sabine had just felt she needed to do something and look how it had ended up, Kanan had been paying the price she should have paid. Sabine did not blame Kanan if he did not want to have anything to do with her again after what she had done to him.

Sabine stepped out of the bed and limped over to Kanan who was laying pale and unmoving on the bed. Sabine looked at the straps and her stomach turned at how wrong it was, so horribly wrong. They were supposed to be better than the empire and yet they restored to the same tactics binding him to a bed.

"Sabine, get back to bed! you are still injured and still need help" Hera's voice was heard.

Sabine could not say she was surprised that Hera was still awake, she suspected all of them were. How could anyone sleep right now?

Suddenly without warning did Kanan scream and pulled wildly on the restraints. In surprise Sabine took a step backward which only further made her guilty. How could she be scared of a man she considered as close as a father to her? Kanan desperately tried to get away from something they could not see. Sabine looked at him and wondered what he was experiencing this time.

"I … please no AAAARGGGHHH" Kanan screamed.

"Please I could not tell AAARRRGHHHHH" Kanan screamed over and over.

Everyone went up and walked over to him and Ahsoka went over and checked on him and made contact with him. They all waited until she removed her hand and looked at them with deep pain in her eyes. The doctors also came but nothing could really be done much about it.

"I …. I never knew" Ahsoka mumbled.

"Ahsoka what are you talking about?" Sabine asked.

"When … When he was held captive he told of a time where all three Inquisitor went after him at the same time. I never realised but they did it to punish him for lying about the base. You see the base he gave up is an old abandoned base he simply gave it to make them stop. I never knew it but he wanted to stop the waterboarding and gave it a useless base but it made the Inquisitor come for him in full force. Fifth Brother broke a rib on him, Seventh Sister was cutting him at first but then resorted to burning his sides with fire. The Grand Inquisitor first administered the drug and then attacked his mind. It … it was one of the things that Kanan struggled the most with" Ahsoka said before she took a deep breath and continued, she almost looked sick.

" The three Inquisitor's attacked Kanan's mind only to find they had pushed him too far. His mind was consumed with pain, they could not get anything out of it. That made them stop and leave the room. They .. they left him bleeding on the floor. The next morning the guards went in to give him a dose of surpressen and beat him. They found him on the floor barely alive. They called the Inquisitors and they reluctantly sent him to the medics. They worked hard to save his life but even so he barely survived. Kanan told that when he woke up the bandage was ripped from his body and he was carried back to the cell. This was despite the doctors protest as they did not have time to check if he was strong enough to take more torture with some rest" Ahsoka ended the tale.

Sabine looked at Ahsoka and nearly cried at the story how in the world had they left him to that? They had left Kanan to torture that was so bad he nearly had died of it. It made her wonder what else they had done to him, he clearly had not told Ahsoka everything.

"Please no" Kanan cried out.

Sabine looked at him in pain as Kanan continued to cry out weakly and struggle against the restraints. Sabine feared what kind of damage there would be to his broken wrist, fingers and shoulder.

"no, No, NO" Kanan screamed when he struggled and then his body collapsed.

They looked as Kanan as he laid still, he did not move and the equipment went off in alarm.

"Kanan" Hera sobbed as the doctors started to look at him.

Fear was evident in all of them, fearing this was too late. The doctors stood up.

"He is very weak. I am not sure he can survive another hallucination" the doctors said sadly.

Everyone looked at the doctor who sighted as he answered their silent question.

"Two hours"

"Oh Kanan" Hera mumbled.

Suddenly Kanan cracked his eyes open.

"Kanan?"

Being in such a confined space made Ezra feel claustrophobic, even more so being stuck in the same room as Kallus. It reminded him of all those times he had been punished by him often happening in a small space. Ezra didn't know how long they were going to be on this shuttle; he didn't want to know what they were gonna do to them. They said they wanted to have him alive, which was good in the moment. But it was bad because they wanted to hand him over to the Empire. Ezra could not get back in their hands again.

Ezra looked around for any way out but the only exit beside the door was a slight in the wall, and there was no way he could slip through that; not even with the dead weight attached to his arm.

Speaking of the villian, Ezra saw the man look at the doorway, like the two were having a staring contest.

"What are you doing?" Ezra questioned with irritation at the man.

Kallus sighed as he told the kid, "I am trying to find some way out.

Ezra told the man the sad truth, "There is none, not in here at least."

Kallus did not accept that answer, "They have to let us out eventually."

Ezra was very annoyed with this escape amatur, " How many people are out there?"

Kallus looked through the door hole and counted about several of their captors.

"Fair point," Kallus admitted, "But we can't do nothing."

"We just have to wait for our time," Ezra pointed out.

"Our time?" Kallus questioned, "that makes it sound like a team effort?"

Ezra held up his cuffed hand that showed the horrible reality that they were stuck together.

"Until these are taken off, I guess we have to work together.

"Until we get these off," Ezra reluctantly agreed. Truth was the idea of working with Kallus made his stomach turn. By the crash, at least all they had to do was wait until the rebels came to save him. Now with being captured by these...beings, it made their already crappy situation more pressing. Ezra's leg was broken, Kallus arm was as well, they were on a shuttle going who knows where. If Ezra wanted to get back to the crew, his family, then he had to do something that was unbearable.

Just then the shuttle jerked to a halt, causing the two prisoners to fall on their sides.

It took a moment for them to comprehend what had just occurred when two trandoshans came in, blasters in arm. WIth one at the door, another came behind Kallus and Ezra. Kicking Kallus the lizard man barked, "Move!"

With no other options, The two humans got up and walked out The two then were surrounded by two more guards as they exited the ship. As they got off the ship, the bright sun hurt their eyes. When their vision adjusted to their surroundings, they were welcomed with an unpleasant scenario.

A camp of tents and canopies littered the area as fellow trandoshans and droids cooked over open fires and mingled with one another. Some were going over weapons while others seemed to be looking over other beings. As Ezra got a closer look at a trandoshan man talking to a wookie, he noticed that the wookie was in a stuck position; like it was stuffed!"

"Dead! That wookie is dead!" Ezra shrieked in horror as he tried to scoot away from what he saw. Only to be butted in the head with a blaster from the guy behind. Ezra was too shocked by the dead being to feel it. As they kept going It took everything for Ezra not to gag as he saw to their horror more deceased beings. The heads of three Gammorean (with their mouths stuffed with apples), ugnaught pierced through poles like they were the meat on a shish-kabob, there was even a human who's limb where in jars, the man's eyes still opened in his jar. Ezra was sure he was going to throw up, but managed to keep any bile down.

"Completely barbaric," Kallus muttered in disgust as he saw the horror around him as well.

The trandoshan up front objected, "What we do is no worse than the slaughter the Empire does. We just embrace it instead of keeping quiet.

Kallus turned red at the accusation, "The Empire only harms though who stand in our way,"

"Keep telling yourself that mutton-chops,"Said the guard from behind them.

Finally the group came to the bigger of the tents in the center of the camp. It was huge, it almost looked like it could be a house. As they entered the red tent they saw many guards at the entrance follow the group in. As they entered the center of the tent, they saw a holo-map diplaye right in the center, and beyond that, a run down chair that seemed to be like a makeshift throne. There sat a rather large trandoshan. He was two times the size of Zeb, had grayish-green scales, with some showing raw skin underneath where scales had been ripped away. What made Ezra get rather nervous about being in front of them was that he had a robotic right arm; completely metallic and was as if someone placed a cannon in place of his arm. This gave Ezra an unpleasant reminder of Vader. The cold around him in the force was a bit less strong than Vader but it was just as bad.

"We found these two southwest of Kendenå. Pod is completely smashed, amazing they survived."

The being on the throne stood as he hissed, "Amazing for us. It is amazing how the universe works. How a boy with one of the largest bounties in the galaxy falls right at our door.

The being then approached the restrained duo and eyed Ezra with a wicked smile. It made Ezra feel very uncomfortable, as if he was a piece of meat being looked over before one bought it.

"So this is the boy that escaped the Empire, burned down an imperial fleet, and slaughtered twenty people...I must say I thought you would be taller.

Ezra seemed rather surprised by this statement. How did people think he would do all those things? Yeah he escaped the Empire, but no fleets burned down, and Ezra has never killed anyone.

"Um…" Ezra was about to correct the man when the leader continued.

"I suppose I should not be too surprised by this, After all your bounty is one of the highest in the galaxy."

Now this really surprised Ezra, "It is?"

The man smiled wickedly and it gave Ezra the creeps.

"Oh don't try to play naive with me. You should be quite proud of yourself really. 600,000 credits is not an easy bounty to achieve. You must be one hard to catch hellion.

Ezra almost lost his breath; how could it be worth that much to the Empire? Were the rest of the crew worth that much, did they know how much he was worth?"

"Commander Dekciw," Came in a fellow hunter who seemed like he just heard the best news in the world. The trandoshan whispered in his leader's ear, and his eyes widened in shock.

"800,000 credits?! Really?" The leader questioned, like he really doubted what he heard. As he stared at the man , who nodded with enthusiasm.

"800,000 credits for a youngling. I must say this day is getting better and better."

"Wait, Dekciw?" Kallus questioned?"

"LIVE DEKCIW THE HUNTER!" The man around them shouted in unison as they cheered their leader's name.

"Indeed," Dekciw confirmed as he smiled at his men cheering his name.

"I thought you looked familiar," Kallus revealed as an epiphany grew on his face, "You led a few raids on imperial fleets when they first came to Geonosis. Burned down a few bases!"

"The Empire tried to take over the Planet, but no one can take over us!" Dekciw roared, "When they wiped out everyone else, We survived. Now we own this planet. Those who come here we either sell for the bounty, or send them out for the hunt!"

"Yeah!" the men cheered, all raising their fist and weapons in the air.

"Hunt?" Ezra questioned, a littler nervous how that sounded.

"Don't worry boy, the hunt is for those who mean nothing to the Empire. Like this agent here."

Kallus sneered at him before being smacked in the head by a soldier. The man fell to the ground, Ezra with him before Dekciw knelt down and told him, " you seem rather stubborn. Perhaps you will live for a day or two before I take your head as my trophy."

Ezra felt his stomach drop. That image made him feel rather unwell. But far worse was the fact that they would collect his bounty. Ezra had no desire to go back to Vader and the Grand Inquisitor. If he was sent back he knew that the punishment of his lifetime would await him there. As bad as it had been he was very sure that Vader could cook up something far worse than anything he had seen. Not to mention he would send back to the people who had hurt his family so terribly. It was the last thing Ezra would want. All Ezra wanted was to see his parents, the crew, but most of all he wanted Kanan. He had to know that he was gonna be okay.

Dekciw stood and announced to his men, "Tell our fellow camps of our bountiful find, and that tomorrow, WE HUNT!"

They all cheered over Kallus and Ezra asd the chanted once more, "LIVE DEKCIW THE HUNT! LIVE DEKCIW THE HUNT!"

With that several of the soldiers left and before three more left, Dekciw ordered, "You three, take these two to the holding chamber. Keep guard of them tonight."

The three salute the man and they once more surround Kallus and Ezra as they lead them out of the camp. Ast they left, Ezra looked back and again saw that sickening grin. Ezra had a horrible feeling that this man was more saditic than how he seemed.

Mira looked through the window where the kind woman by the name Hera was looking at her partner Kanan. They had felt it unfitting to join them, this was a private matter; however, they could not help but feel horrible over how the poor man was dying in front of them. Ephraim was holding Mira as she leaned into her. Mira could feel her wrist and ankles stung where the cuts were, the long time in chains had done damage to her skin and nerves and Ephraim was not much better; she saw her husband try to be brave, but could not do it. Suddenly the door was opened making both of them jump in a fright before holding onto one another tightly, their eyes closed tighter. Doors opened rarely meant something good. Often it was the soldiers who would give them food or the bastard Kallus checking on them.

"Hello there. I am sorry did I scare you?" a male voice asked.

They turned around and saw the man who had introduced himself as Sato looking at them. Quietly they both nodded their heads even though they both knew they could speak freely, but the fear of payback for such was still there. Over the years they had tried to talk out, but every time they did so they would be beaten and/or punished. The first prison they had arrived to, Mira had an argument with the guards. That resulted in being forced in solitary confinement for a week and Ephraim had been beaten when he demanded to be told where she was. When she finally had been let out she had found a bruised and beaten Ephraim in her cell along with a few medical supplies and she had been forced to treat her own husband. They had both understood it was a signal to both of them about what happened when you went against the Empire.

"You can talk, you know that, right?" Sato said.

They both nodded but were still not sure if they could. The man sighed just as the door opened with a doctor rushing out and grabbing a few things and went back in. The sound of the door made them both jump before they saw it was the doctor and relaxed.

"That bad?" the man mumbled and looked at them with sympathy.

"That bad what?" Mira asked, careful and in a low voice.

"You are scared I will punish you for talking. Whenever the door opens you fear an enemy will come through. It is a classic sign of PTSD, You are not the first people we have seen from the Empire imprisonment. We will be able to help you two both physically and mentally" Sato said.

They both looked at him but did not reply, it was hard to talk of what happened to them, even though they did believe the man's words about helping them.

"It's okay you don't want to talk. I simply came to check if you are alright and hear if you had any questions" Sato said.

Mira and Ephraim looked at each other before they looked in through the window at their rescuers once more.

"Who are they? How do they know our son?" Mira asked rather quickly. Ezra had to know these people to light up so much when they had rescued him.

Sato looked at them before he looked at them.

"These people are members of the Ghost crew, a cell in our rebellion. The twi'lek is Hera Syndulla, the mandalorian is Sabine Wren, the lasat is Garazeb Orrelios and the poor man in the bed is Kanan Jarrus" Sato said while pointing to each member.

"We saw him earlier he was …. being tortured" Ephraim said sadly.

Sato looked surprised at them "You saw it?"

Borth Mira and Ephraim winced as they nodded.

"We were forced to watch while Ezra …." Mira began before she broke down and sobbed unable to form the words.

"I am sorry to hear that," Sato said sadly, his stomach turning at the thought of his little nephew being tortured.

"We could not stop it. I wish I could have stopped it. Seeing my son treated like that. Seeing them treat that poor man like that and then right in front of a child. It is sick" Ephraim mumbled.

"We can't always stop such things," Sato said sadly.

Mira and Ephraim held each other close before they were ready to talk again.

"Tell us how did you meet Ezra? How did he come to be here? How is he?" Mira asked as she had had time to collect her thoughts.

"Well the story of how we managed to help him is both sad, but also uplifting. You see the poor man in there named Kanan? Well he had been captured once before, almost a year ago and was sentenced to death. Ezra was meant to carry out the sentence" Sato said gently

"Oh dear force" Mira gasped while Ephraim nearly collapsed hearing that his son had been meant to do such a thing. Mira had to aid him back up.

"Yes, but he refused, When the two were on their way to Mustafar, Ezra helped Kanan escape, and the two got back to the Rebellion. Your son is a true hero" Sato hurried to continue.

Unfortunately it was too much for Mira and Ephraim to take it at once and both of them felt their legs give away under them. Suddenly Mira felt it like her heart was galloping away and she gasped making Sato call for a doctor. A woman entered and went over to them, getting them back to a chair before examining her.

"You were told to rest. We warned you that your heart is not completely stable. Now I want you to sit and then you can talk but nothing that strains you too much" the doctor warned them.

All three of them nodded before she finished her examination and left. They all took some deep breath before they were ready to continue.

"So he didn't do it?" Ephraim asked weakly with a relief in his voice.

"Ezra refused to do such a deed, he has been with us ever since. The kid has developed a strong bond with Kanan and we have all come to love him. We celebrated his birthday a little while back. Ezra had a great time," Sato said and smiled as he recalled such a happy time with the youngling.

That brought a little smile to them as well.

"Thank you for taking good care of him and celebrating his birthday. It must have been a painful day for him since we were taken" Mira said.

Sato shock his.

"Now our focus must be to find him and bring him back home. Ezra has called me uncle and I will be damned if I leave my nephew alone out there for long" Sato tried to reassure.

"He called you uncle?" Ephraim asked, surprised.

"Yes we have started to grow close as of late. In fact Ezra seems to have made every member of the rebellion a little happier with him around" Sato said with a fund smile.

"Well we are glad you have been taking good care of him," Mira expressed her gratitude, though something about her tone seemed to say something else was on her mind.

"Yes we have tried to make him more carefree. I am afraid he has changed much since you saw him. I'm guessing he was a smiling and energetic child when you had him?" Sato asked and they nodded.

"Well now he is timid and easy to scare. While some of his more energetic side has come out over his time with us, at times some of his past trauma does re emerge," Sato said sadly.

Both of the parents sighed before hugging each other.

"Thank you for telling us," Mira said.

"Now come with me. I am sure you could use a decent meal." Sato offered.

Mira and Ephraim stood slowly and gave him a small smile and followed him out the door.

Once the troops brought the two humans to the makeshift cell, (a transport shuttle that was no longer in use), The two were thrown in, with the door locked behind them.

Kallus once more got up and began banging on the door, "I refuse to be kept here against my will! I am an imperial officer and you will do as I say!"

"Yeah, that's going to get them to listen to you," Ezra remarked sarcastically.

"In case you didn't realize this boy, we are both in trouble here." Kallus roared with both fear and anger, "I go on this stupid 'hunt', whatever that is, and you'll be turned over to the Empire once more."

Ezra looked outside and saw two guards still at their post. Ezra whispered, "when they are gone we will talk."

"Don't…" Kallus was about to bark but then noticed what Ezra saw before. Kallus knew that if the boy did know of some way out of this stench hole, it was better to do it when they had some more privacy. So all Kallus could do was wait.

The two sat there for what felt like hours. Kallus felt infuriated about waiting around and doing nothing. The Empire may have taught him patience, but the cage did not help with that practice. Ezra looked at him and sent him a cold smile.

"Not liking to be caged in? Funny, considering what you did to me countless time" Ezra sneered.

"That was your doing. You chose to anger The Grand Inquisitor" Kallus snapped back.

"Because I didn't want to be a killer like you and him" Ezra sneered.

"We wouldn't be here if you had just killed the jedi all those months ago" Kallus said.

"Yeah well I didn't. Deal with it instead of whining about it," Ezra muted.

Kallus glared at him but felt silence as well once more. Finally after what felt like forever, the two guards had a discussion.

"Let's grab some dinner," One stated.

"But what of the prisoners?" the other questioned the other.

The other guard wrapped an arm around his allies shoulder, "They are locked up and we got to eat. Besides we can't let them starve. We grab them a plate and say we're working."

This convinced the other man, who followed his friend to the dining area.

"Finally," Ezra exasperated as he got a look at the lock on the door.

"What are you looking for?" Kallus questioned.

"Seeing if this is a basic lock," Ezra stated as a smile was painted on his face, "which it is."

"So?" Kallus questioned, not sure where this kid was going with basic locks.

"So I don't need high tech equipment to get the door unlocked, or the key. as long as I have…" Ezra then looked on the ground and found a tiny wire," This!"

"You can unlock the door with that?" Kallus questioned.

"Once everyone is asleep and we have time to unlock it yes."

Everyone stiffened when they saw Kanan's eyes who seemed to have trouble focusing on anything as he looked around and tried to make sense of what he saw.

"Kanan" Hera whispered.

Kanan slowly turned to her and looked at her before he closed his eyes and tried to curl together. When the restraints stopped it he opened his eyes and looked at him.

"Kanan we," Hera started.

"NO" Kanan gasped as he struggled to get free.

"Kanan please relax," Hera said.

"No no more," Kanan groaned weekly.

A doctor came over and Kanan's eyes widened in fear and anger.

"No, leave me alone. Stay away. I don't want you. You will take me back to them anyway" Kanan said, weakly fighting the restraint.

"Sir we …" the doctor began.

"No. I don't … pitch me up and send me back. ... Stop no stop" Kanan mumbled almost drifting out again.

Everyone in the room was stunned.

"Kanan please try to relax," Sabine said.

"No they will help me and you will take me back. I won't go back. It hurts when they waterboard. I don't want to" Kanan mumbled.

"He thinks he is back with the Inquisitors," Hera said.

Ahsoka walked over to Kanan and bent down to him and put her hand on his dome.

"Where are you?" Ahsoka asked.

"Medical room. Base. Inquisitor" Kanan mumbled back almost blacking out again.

"Kanan listen to me. You are safe. You are surrounded by your friends. The doctors are rebels like us and they will help you" Ahsoka said.

Kanan carefully moved his head to her and for the first time it seemed like he saw her.

"Ah .. so .. ka. Help. Images. Hurt" Kanan gasped out.

"I will just relax," Ahsoka said.

"Ahsoka. I … I can't my heart. It burns" Kanan groaned in a low pained voice while tears were shown in his eyes.

"Hang in there Kanan," Ahsoka said.

"Can't. Tell them I love them" Kanan said as his eyes closed and laid still.

"Kanan no" Hera screamed but before they could do anything the doctors pushed them away and checked Kanan over.

"He is alive, weak but alive but I fear he might not handle another hallucination" the doctor said.

They all looked worried at each other before Sabine asked with fear in her voice 'how long?' The doctor looked at them.

"two hours"

SWR

The wait was the worst part. Ezra and Kallus didn't think that it would take as long as they did. Ezra started to nod off a bit, but what had to slap himself to keep him from completely falling asleep. Kallus too seemed to be letting his eyes droop every now and again. Finally though after what seemed like forever, the lights were turning off, showing that most of the camp was asleep.

"Alright, now or never," Ezra stated as he got the wire he found earlier. Ezra maneuvered his good hand through the wire that was their cage and was soon picking at the lock. As Ezra got the first latch of the lock undone, it amazed him how even though he had not picked a lock in years, he still remembered how to do it. The only thing delaying the lock being done sooner was that he was doing this with one hand. Ezra could have asked Kallus to lift up his hand so he could use his other hand, but Ezra didn't want Kallus to take any credit for getting them out, and just as he was thinking that thought, the door unhinged.

"Yes!" Ezra whispered in triumph.

With that Kallus immediately tried to book it, only for Ezra to wince as he was being dragged along, the forced weight on his leg made the child cry.

"What is it?" Kallus questioned the boy when he saw the situation.

Kallus sighed and rolled his eyes and knelt down so Ezra could climb on his back, "Get on." Kallus barked.

Ezra gazed at him with frustration. Ezra did not want the monster's help in getting out of this crazy camp.

Kallus hissed at him in frustration, "The sooner we get out the better, and my legs are working."

Ezra rolled his eyes in annoyance as he hopped on Kallus back. With Kallus' hand back to hold Ezra up and as long as Ezra kept his restrained hand close to Kallu's, then it actually seemed to work. Even so Ezra hated he had to get help from Kallus.

With stealth and speed, the duo attempted to make their way through the camp. Sticking to the shadows was the easy part, but getting out of the maze of tents and fire pits was hard with the limited lighting.

"Recall how we got in here?" Kallus whispered to the boy in his back.

"No," Ezra whispered to the man as he looked up at the sky and saw that some of the stars seemed to be missing east of them. The kid then realized they weren't missing, but behind something.

"The mountain range is that way though," Ezra told Kallus happily, "We head that way we can hide in the mountains."

Kallus looked up in that direction, "Huh, not bad kid." With that Kallus maneuvered in the direction. As they passed by several tents and fire pits, one site got the attention of both Kallus and Ezra. This fire pit seemed to have a couple of blasters and grenades just lying around on mats and tables. Some looked like they were being taken apart for repairs, while others looked like they were just laying around by naive soldiers.

Kallus went up to one of them. After he examined it to make sure it was fully charged, Kallus put it on his hip. Ezra too snagged one while Kallus was busy with his own weapon. No way did Ezra want to be alone with Kallus and with no weapon. Kallus eyed a grenade on the table, but did not recognize what model it was.

"Must be a prototype they attempted to make." Kallus deduced.

Ezra rolled his eyes at kallus as he told him, "No that's imperial, the logo is on the other side."

Kallus turned it over and was shocked, "The design doesn't look familiar."

Ezra let out a fake laugh, "I have. These grenades let off a small explosion. It's huge impact though is from the gas inside, it's flammable and will spread fire from a klick around.

"How would you know of such a weapon?" Kallus debated. No way could the kid have been allowed such a powerful weapon on the base.

"Because I saw one used in Capitol city," Ezra said. Kallus heard the despair in his voice. The man admitted the kid was quite the actor.

Ezra continued. " Over a year ago, downtown was having a riot because you guys wanted to force everyone there out of their home. That grenade was thrown. Those who survived had serious burns."

As Kallus thought this he recalled an event that was similar. How a fire has broken out downtown, but it was caused by rooley citizens.

"I think you have some facts mixed up."

Ezra sighed, "Whatever. Let's just get going."

Kallus pocketed the blaster and grenade, though he did not fully know why he did with the projectile. They were almost to the edge of the camp when they heard quick moving feet.

Kallus with Ezra hid in the shadows of one of the tents.

Kallus peaked his head out enough to see a trandoshans kicking awake his comrade who fell asleep just outside his camp.

"Wake up," The alert soldier roared as he kicked his passed out comrade in the rib. Once the unconscious man woke up, and stood, the man once again spoke.

"I checked the prisoner cell, both are gone and the lock has been picked."

This got the others guard attention, "Alert Dekciw and sound the alarm then moron. We cannot let them escape,"

The two beings then headed towards the center of the camp. Kallus took the chance and headed in the opposite direction to get out. Relief washed over him as he saw the edge of camp. That was until Ezra patted began to frantically pat on his shoulder.

"We have to hide!" Ezra whispered with panic.

Kallus neary laughed, "We are almost there we are-,"

Just then Kallus felt a huge fist punched right into his cheek. The man just barely kept his feet on the ground. When Kallus looked up he saw one of the head men that was in the tent earlier.

"Nice try," roared the red scally being as he smiled , "We don't begin the hunt until sunrise.

The Transhon then took out an electric whip and smirked evilly. Once Ezra saw this, he felt his heart rate race as his breathing became exasperated from the fear of the whip. He keenly remembered how many times it had been used on him. Especially one time the Grand Inquisitor had come in the middle of a night from a mission that had failed. Ezra had been woken up and brought out to the courtyard. There they had tied his hands to a pole and the Grand Inquisitor asking if he would join the Empire. As soon as he had said no the whipping had begun. Ezra had lost count after whip number 30 and he had been left alone in the bitter cold night until the sun had risen and Kallus had come and fetched him for this day's training session. It took forever to heal, even the medics on the rebellion had to tend to them.

Kallus though blocked the child's tantrum out of the way as he eyed the man.

They stood in their stand for several moments when the soldier snapped the whip and aimed it right at the prisoners. Kallus dodged the projectile as he got his blaster out and aimed it at the man's shoulder. The blaster got the trash on right in the shoulder, sending the man to the ground with the whip still activated on the ground. Kallus bolted to the edge of camp, unaware he dropped the grenade from his holster; right next to the whip.

Just as the agent and padawan made it outside of the camp, the grenade activated, interacting with the bright heat of the electric whip to ignite the mass explosion.

Ezra could sense it right behind them, the mass destruction that was about to fall onto the camp, and that they were right on the edge of it. Ezra looked behind them and saw a small fire in the distance of where the cmap was and how in the matter of moments it had become larger, that it would soon be all gone. The kid knew that Kallus could not run far enough in the time it would take for the explosion to reach; Ezra knew he had to get them out of the way. So with all his might Ezra focused on the force and used the force to push him and Kallus as far away from the fire as possible. Just as Ezra did so the lard explosion of the comusting flames was felt on their skin. Ezra heard Kallus grunt at the sudden shock of being pushed over a kilometer away from the camp. Once the two hit the ground Ezra looked up in shock and saw a good potion of the camp now bursting into flames. It made Ezra feel anxiety as he saw the familiar scene of everything in flames.

"What in imperial sakes-, kallus was beginning to yell at Ezra when he saw the damage to the camp. Kallus was stunned by what had occured; his heart skipped a beat as he saw an array of orange and yellow spurt into the air and danced it way up it not the heavens before it disappeared into the night sky. The setting is similar to what the boy had described earlier. On a gut feeling, Kallus looked into the holster to find the grenade he had pocketed was not gone.

It gave Kallus an disturbed feeling in his gut at not only the Jedi boy being right, but that the Empire had created such a destructive weapon that could cause such mass chaos.

Ezra was eyeing the chaos when he felt it. His heart pierced with such anxiety and despair. It felt as though Ezra felt like he couldn't breath. Ezra was kneeling on the ground as he tried to get his breath but failed to do so.

Kallus saw this and assumed the boy was panicking from the scene they saw. Kallus rolled his eyes as he picked up the kid

"I Know, big explosion you were right, happy?" Kallus stated as he hauled Ezra back on his shoulder and climbed up the mountain range.

Ezra though did not hear the man speak at all (if Ezra had he would be rubbing it in the Agents face). All Ezra heard though was voices; distant and stressed.

"We're losing him!" shouted a woman's voice as it was strained.

Ezra felt a jolt onto his chest, it almost felt on fire as he still could not breath.

"Not yet we are not! We are almost at the Base! Get him a 20cc shot of adrenaline! ASAP!" cried an elder man's voice as the sound of droids became rather louder.

Ezra didn't know what was going on. It felt like this was all happening to him, but it couldn't be, he could not recognize any of these voices. That was until he heard the strained voice of a woman he missed so much at this moment.

"Kanan! NO!" cried Hera, choking back tears as heard in her voice.

Ezra desperately wanted to hug Hera desperately, he wanted to know what was going on, why was he feeling like something was horribly wrong and it all had to do with Kanan. It almost feels like he was dying and if he felt he was dying then …. oh no.

Hera looked at the pale, lifeless Kanan laying with all the medical support they could offer him. Since he passed out he had not moved or done anything. Hera looked at Zeb and Sabine who were noticeable as they had been since they got the message a while back of it still being 2 hours to the base. Hera was not sure how long since that had been she had looked at how Kanan became more and more pale like he slowly passed from the Galaxy.

Tell them I love them, those words seemed like going on a repeat in her mind. Love that exact word kept repeating. Kanan and her shared a deep love for one another but it hadn't always been like that. When they had met Hera had noticed Kanan seemed to have a crush on her but she assumed it would stop. Kanan would find another woman to run after and she had soon forgotten all about it, something she regretted. First with Zeb's arrival she had gotten the note that the crush turned out to be much more. At first she had not wanted to deal with it but when Kanan one evening had kissed her on the cheeks she had realised the interest was not one sited. Now she was in a relationship with him and therefore it was that much harder to see him slowly weathing away. Why? Why did Kanan suffer so much? Hera let her hand brush over his cheek but got no response.

"Can I have a moment with him?" Hera asked.

That question seemed to add a lot of tension to the room. They all knew Hera was a very private person. If she was asking for this it meant she was VERY pessimistic about Kanan's survival chance. She asked this because she wanted to say goodbye to Kanan in private. Even so Ahsoka, Zeb and Sabine looked at her and nodded as Zeb lifted Sabine up from the bed and left along with Ahsoka. Even so they all took a last look at Kanan. They now feared it could be the last time they saw him alive. The doctor however stayed but as in a chair a little away. Hera grabbed Kanan's hand and felt how cold it was.

"Kanan love?" Hera asked.

Kanan did not move and Hera leaned over and brushed his cheeks. Kanan this time gasped like he could not get enough air.

"No not the fire whip" Kanan mumbled all though it could barely be heard.

Kanan moved his hands like he wanted to use to block it but once more the restraints stopped him.

"Kanan no please stay calm? Listen to me your heart can't take it easy please" Hera said.

"Not the fire whip. No. Don't" Kanan mumbled, shaking his head in a panic.

An alarm went off and the doctor rushed over and looked at him while another one rushed in and joined them.

"We're losing him!" shouted the female doctor strained.

Kanan's chest jolted and Hera looked on scared.

"Not yet we are not! We are almost at the Base! Get him a 20cc shot of adrenaline! ASAP!" the male doctor said

Distressed, Hera moved past the doctors and bent down and kissed Kanan on his cheeks as tears pressed into her eyes. Why? Why did it have to be so unfair? Why could they not help Kanan who suffered so much?

No" Kanan mumbled.

Hera, unable to form the words sat down and kissed his lips.

Kanan let out a small gasp and then laid completely still, his hand fell out of hers and she stared at him. The silence was followed by the most horrifying sound ever. The sound of a flat line. The doctors pushed her aside and Hera felt over but all she could look at was Kanan laying still, unmoving. This could not be happening.

"Kanan NO!" Hera screamed as more doctors rushed in one of them started dragging her towards the door. But all Hera could think was to run to Kanan and somehow force him to be alive.

Alarmed by the commotion Zeb ran into the room with Sabine in his arms and Ahsoka following after. There they saw Kanan's limp form and Hera fighting against a doctor while hearing the alarm of the flatline.

"NO Kanan!" Hera screeched as she fell to her knees as her worst fear had finally come true. Her love, their leader, was gone.
