Infirmary - 7th October
"Good morning, Kaneki," Aisha greets quietly as she enters his screen. She opens the curtain closest to his bed and only that as there were other patients fast asleep on the other beds. "It's a great day today, nice and sunny," Aisha glanced to Kaneki who stared at the ceiling with unblinking eyes. She helps Kaneki sit up, propping his pillow to support his back.
"Morning Aisha," Faith yawns rubbing his eye.
"I'm sorry if I woke you up," Aisha apologises. "It seems I came earlier than usual but I couldn't wait to see you."
Faith assures her that it was alright and flies out from his bed. He lifts his arms above his head and stretches, groaning as his bones sort themselves out before looking around. He deflates as the same face he has been praying to see has once again alluded the visit.
"Glim still scared?" Faith questions despondently.
"You can't blame her," Aisha responds softly. "The incident at the hospital. It's too much for her right now. She lost one of her mothers, her other mother passed temporary custody to you and has barely been apart of her life afterwards, she was kidnapped away from Pixie Village and watched numerous other pixies fade away by Darkar's hand and now she's stuck at Alfea with no way to return home not until we're all safe."
"We've all been through a lot, but Glim... my Glim... she's just a baby," Faith mutters before turning to Aisha, his brows furrowed and his mouth turned into a frown. "Aisha, our duties as pixies is to stay by our respective fairy's side and help them grow into guardian fairy they are meant to be. Kenny needs me but Glim doesn't have a bonded fairy. She needs her mother. I want to send her home."
"You heard what Faragonda said," Aisha reminds but that only served to irate Faith who explodes.
"To hell with what she said! That woman is the headmistress of the greatest fairy educational institution in all of the Magic Dimension and a Fairy Godmother yet she can't cast a simple teleportation to send a baby back home?!"
"Faith!" Aisha was scandalised.
"No, I'm not staying quiet! I stayed quiet when hiding in the bushes from the shadow monsters while they picked up my brethren. I stayed quiet when Darkar tortured and drained the magic and life from our friends. I stayed quiet when those three Winx members started to get suspicious of Kaneki. Well not anymore! I'm flying straight to Faragonda and getting her to send Glim home."
Aisha seizes Faith before he could zoom off and cradles him close much to his frustration. He demands her to let him go, kicking and biting at her hand even resorting to cursing until finally slumps in exhaustion.
"Is Kenny ever going to get better?" Unable to hold his heartbreak any longer, hot torrents of woe course down his blotchy cheeks while wailing with the force of a newborn.
There was some muttering in the background before the screen is pulled back by a girl with worry in her eyes and behind her shoulder, Aisha could see a couple of patients grumpy from being awoken so abruptly. The girl who pulled the screen glanced at Faith and mouthed, "Is he okay?"
"I'm sorry," Faith hiccups rubbing his bloodshot before wiping away the snot dripping from his nose. Aisha just holds him close as this is all she could do for him right now. Neither of them notices the slight twitch of fingers from their bedridden companion.
Alfea Courtyard
These past few days have been tough. The atmosphere is heavy, tensions are high and spirits low. This year is shaping out to be the worst year of Alfea history.
With the actions of Tecna, Musa and Stella, now dubbed as the Winx Trix, the school has never been more divided than it is this year though there's one thing they are coming together for and that's to make Musa and Stella suffer.
While they do need to understand the consequences of their actions, Bloom knows that the other girls are going too far with their horrible treatment. Homework torn, pins on chairs, shoving near the top of the stairs, rooms being vandalised, the occasional dead rodent in their drawers.
The bullying even managed to spread to Bloom and Flora but not to the extent that Musa and Stella received.
Eventually, Flora found it necessary to inform a teacher after Chatta and Lockette found a half-dead mouse in Bloom's bed. Poor Lockette cried herself to sleep that night and continued on for the next day.
Griselda promised to keep an eye out and that she did, having cast a spell on their dorm that would inform her when students other than the usual occupants entered. 2 students have been expelled while another has her magic banned for a month while taking a 3-hour anti-bullying lecture by Wizgiz every day until her magic ban expires.
That was enough of a deterrent for others to quit although it wouldn't stop the shoulder checks and occasional tripping. Small things that they couldn't be caught for doing.
The only ones spared from this is Aisha who was essentially Kaneki's best friend and Tecna who is no longer an Alfea student though Bloom couldn't testify that Tecna was safe online.
Bloom's most recent session with Avalon didn't focus on her past or parents. Learning about her past is what she desperately wanted but she didn't believe it to be appropriate in such and depressing time. Avalon understood this and instead helped her deal with her grief and guilt by assuring the actions of Tecna, Musa and Stella were not her fault. By the end, Bloom's shoulders felt as light as a feather and she no longer had a brick digesting in her stomach.
Having entered his office in lumber and now leaving with a bounce in her gait, Bloom heads to her self-defence class but there was still a heaviness to her heart which could be soothed by only one person. Phone in hand, she dials for Sky to inform him of today's events.
Initially ecstatic with the call, Sky listens attentively until the first gush of Avalon had his mind distorting the rest of the conversation.
"You won't believe how incredible he is! All he did was take one look into my eyes and he knew that it wasn't my parents that I wanted to talk about today! We sat down and he spent the whole session listening to me and-Sky? Are you listening to me?" Bloom inquires after hearing Sky repeat the words, 'yes' and 'uh-huh'.
"Uh-huh."
"What do you mean 'uhh-huhh'?" Bloom questions irked.
"Avalon, Avalon, Avalon, it's always about Avalon. Y'know, you never ask me how I'm doing anymore," Sky informs full of spite.
"Why? Are you sick?" Bloom gasps, gripping the phone tightly, abandoning all trace of anger from before.
"No, I'm fine," Sky assures not noticing the worry in her voice due to his own jealousy, "but you could at least ask and it would be nice if you'd quit hanging up on me when I call."
"I'm sorry but I was with Professor Avalon, I couldn't talk then," Bloom attempts to explain but Sky wasn't having it.
"But you always take calls from him," Sky contends scoffing.
"Well Avalon doesn't go 'uh-huh' when I talk," Bloom retorts heatedly.
"He must be your true soul mate then," Sky counters patronisingly.
"One of these days you should try to be my soul mate."
"I don't know, I wouldn't want to come on between you and Avalon."
"Listen, Sky, the point is I trust him," Bloom snaps.
"Well, you shouldn't. I find it odd that he helps you and no one else." While listening to Sky ramble on, Bloom wasn't paying attention to her surroundings and crashed straight into a wall, dropping all her books as she lands on her behind.
"After everything that's happened these past few days, this is how you react? " Bloom repartees rubbing her aching head. "Now actually do something I would like and hang up the phone," Bloom growls then gasps when Sky actually hangs up on her so she hurls her phone to the ground before stuffing her books back in her arm and walking to her next class dejected unaware that Flora had witnessed the entire spectacle.
Classroom
Flora glanced at Bloom for the umpteenth time as the latter chats with Aisha and Mirta before looking down at the phone in her hand contemplating whether to return it to Bloom or not.
Musa nips down the hall while chatting with Tecna over video chat.
"Have you found a new school yet?" Musa inquires.
"No, not yet," Tecna replies shaking her head, "my dad thinks he can convince Faragonda to give me another chance."
"Does Timmy know you've been expelled?"
"Not yet," Tecna admits. "I plan to visit Red Fountain tomorrow to tell him in person. For something as important as this I think I have to tell him in person. That's the most logical choice."
Immersed in their conversation, Musa didn't notice the outstretched foot until it was too late. Musa shrieks as she tumbles to the ground, her phone skidding far across the floor.
Her friends rush over to help her out, pulling her to her feet, brushing the dirt off her clothes and picking her phone from the floor.
"Are you alright?" Aisha inquires her lips pursed into a frown.
"Just fine," Musa huffs before glaring at a classmate who turns her head away like she had nothing to do with tripping Musa. "Tecna? You still there?"
"Yes, but I should go. I'll talk to you later," Tecna promises before hanging up. The group is left in an awkward state of silence when Musa and Aisha's gaze meet.
"Well, I think it's best if I wait inside," Aisha murmurs before shuffling past the group and entering the class. Mirta gives the group a once over before deciding to follow Aisha.
Class was about to begin in a few minutes anyway so the rest of the class choose to head inside as well. The remaining Winx, however, stood outside waiting impatiently for Stella who, to no one's surprise, was once again late.
Musa spots Stella darting from around the corner and cups her hands around her mouth, "Come on, Stella, our first self-defence class is about to start."
"Hold on," Stella pleads as she picks up pace almost trampling on a poor crab fairy animal who was trying to impress a fairy cat only to fail miserably as she swings her tail in his face before sashaying away. Stella skids in front of the door preventing the others from entering and waggle her eyebrows, "I'm going in first. The professor could be a looker like Avalon and we're about to get physical." Stella peeks then yelps in horror as she slams the door shut.
"What's wrong?" Flora inquires tilting her head. "You look as if you've seen something horrible."
The door swings open to reveal, "Griselda?" The girls gasp in unison.
"Honestly, will you girls ever learn to get to class on time?" Griselda scolds placing her hands on her hips as she harshly stares down the girls.
The girls flinch before slowly shuffling to their seats.
"If this is our magic self-defence class, shouldn't our teacher be here?" Stella inquires taking a seat besides Bloom.
"I am here, and consider yourself lucky, without a teacher of my calibre you don't stand a chance against the Trix," Griselda huffs pushing her glasses up.
Darkar's Castle
"At your service, Master Darkar," the Trix was down on one knee with their heads bowed down to show respect.
Darkar ignored the witch sisters as he heads towards his throne, "The state of alert has been lowered in Red Fountain," Darkar announces, "now is the time to strike."
"We will go and claim the Codex Master and will eradicate whoever stands in our way," Icy replies keeping her head down.
"Go and don't disappoint me," Darkar demands, his tone promising pain and torture if they fail him once again.
Griselda's Class
"Now you are up against an enemy much more powerful than you and this enemy has just passed a terribly destructive spell. What do you do?" Griselda questions as she walks between the desks.
"Hmm, well, we just combine powers," Musa answers confidently then yelps when Griselda gets right into her face.
"Too late, Musa. You've just been pulverised into oblivion," Griselda retorts before looking around as she addresses the rest of the students. "Anyone else? No? What you must do is dodge the attack," Griselda sighs when no one answers her.
"Good thing she just told us otherwise I would have just stood there till I'd finally get hit," Stella remarks to herself but it was still a smidge too loud.
"Well since you're such an expert on the subject, Miss Stella, then I guess you'd be willing to give everyone a demonstration. Let's show the others how it can be done, you try to attack me if you can," Griselda challenges with a smirk.
The class stand outside in the courtyard waiting patiently in their Winx form for the lesson to begin.
"Okay, girls your classmate Stella will demonstrate how to launch a successful attack. Stella, Francis, get in line." Griselda waves the two girls out of the crowd for their battle but they backtrack quicker than you could say 'Winx'.
"Who does Griselda think she is?" Stella grumbles as she lurches out the crowd. "I mean all we need is some tacky green uniforms and we'd be ready for the army. An Alfea fairy deserves a little more respect."
"Oh really?" Griselda suddenly pops up right in front of Stella who yelps and takes refuge behind Flora who really didn't want to be used as a human shield. Stella opens her mouth to defend herself but closes it just as quickly upon realising that whatever she says would only further anger her teacher. "You think a student who fought against an undead army once deserve more respect than the soldiers who put their lives at risk every day for the safety of their respective planet?"
Stella apologises, understanding where she was coming from. Griselda turns around and walks away, she gestures Francis to return to the class.
"Alright then. Show me what you got," Griselda challenges as she saunters away from the group. The confidence exhibited by the teacher only served to irritate Stella who believed Griselda was looking down on her.
"Sunup Attack," Stella casts and throws an orange sphere.
"Barrier absorb." A green barrier encases Griselda and nullifies the attack much to the bewilderment of the class.
Stella falters due to bafflement, but it doesn't keep her down for long. She summons her staff and shoots up into the sky and tries again. "Full Power Sundown."
"Reflect Shield." The spell bounces off the shield and strikes Stella who plummets to the ground.
"You should've dodged that Miss Stella," Griselda taunts with a smirk before pointing to the rest of the class. "Now attack altogether."
"Floral Whirlpool."
"Devouring Beam."
All their attacks prove futile.
"That was no ordinary barrier," Amaryl states.
"Bloom, it's our turn," Musa announces but notices that redhead wasn't paying attention so calls out to her once again. Bloom snaps out of her stupor and they attack but they fail as well.
"Sonic Boom." Griselda cancels it out.
"Incandescent Sphere." Griselda simply catches Bloom's sphere in her hands while shaking her head.
"Bloom, is that the best you can do?" The class land back onto the ground upon realising that they'd never get a hit on Griselda. "Now I want you to think very seriously about what you learned today and save any questions for the next lesson," Griselda informs before walking off.
"Bloom, are you alright?" Flora inquires as she helps her up.
"I don't know," Bloom admits.
Nightfall
Lights out has long since passed, the remaining teachers who had been strolling the halls looking for any curfew breakers are now back in their own beds safely snoozing in dreamland.
Bloom tossed and turn, yanking and shoving her covers until finally, she sits up with an exasperated groan.
"Bloom?" Flora yawns rubbing her eyes after sitting up. "What's wrong? Is something bothering you?"
"It's nothing," Bloom mumbles as she turns away from Flora. "I was just thinking about Sky and well... ever since Avalon came along, Sky's been acting weird like he's suspicious of me. I'm starting to think he doesn't like me anymore. Every time he calls he sounds so angry and he becomes so critical. I don't get it, how can boys be so selfish?" Bloom questions with anger laced into her voice before plucking Kiko from his bed, waking the rabbit from his slumber. "Sky can't stand Avalon even though he's the only one who can find a link to my birth parents. I don't want to see Sky anymore."
"Don't you think Sky's a little jealous?" Flora suggests.
"Flora I have no idea what you're talking about. Really. What's there to be jealous of?" Bloom questions as she sets Kiko on her stomach. The rabbit yawns before making himself comfortable.
Outside Red Fountain - 8th October
Three figures emerged from the fog, sauntering closer to the property of the college.
"At last, the moment we've all been waiting for," Icy states gleefully as her sisters follow right behind her. "Let's do some real damage. Ready?" Icy asks her sisters and the trio cackles as they combine their powers to make a magical orb to distract those at Red Fountain.
Red Fountain - Sky's and Brandon's Room
"She says she doesn't want to talk to you?" Brandon reiterates grunting each time he lifts his hand weight.
Sky spares him a fleeting glance before trying to call Bloom again only to be met with a new voice mail encouraging to leave a message except if it's from Sky.
"Magic makes automated message system so frustrating." Sky chucks his phone over his shoulder and it clatters to the ground before he gets up and walks out to the balcony so he could rant in peace. "Bloom only wants to talk to me when she needs something. Girls can be so selfish."
"Uh, Sky?" Brandon followed Sky, the latter who turned around to rant to his friend thus missed the giant floating purple sphere flying towards them.
"If she thinks I'll let her push me around then-"
"Sky!" Brandon grabs Sky's shoulders and spun him around to see the upcoming danger. The sphere blasts a bolt of lightning but the duo leap away in time. Sky hauls Brandon to his feet and the two scramble back inside to inform Codatorta.
Magix Bus Terminal
"Are you sure this okay?" Bloom asks Flora as they wait for the bus that'll take them to Red Fountain.
"You and Sky need to talk this out face-to-face. Your relationship will come out stronger," Flora assures.
Bloom was about to respond when a familiar voice calls out to them. "Bloom, Flora." Tecna waves to them as she jogs down the pavement. The duo gasps before running up to meet her, they envelop in a group hug while squealing.
"Tecna, what are you doing here?" Bloom questions barely able to hide her excitement.
"I'm going to see Timmy. He still doesn't know that I've been expelled. I thought an explanation face to face would be most appropriate," Tecna clarifies fiddling with the zipper of her top.
"Since we're all here, why don't we go together?" Flora proposes and Tecna agrees wholeheartedly. The trio boards the bus and make their way to Red Fountain, gossiping and chatting like the normal schoolgirls they are. Eventually, the subject changed to the night of the attack.
"I have to ask, Tecna. What was going through your mind in the days leading up to the of your ambush?"
Tecna eyes are focused on watching her feet move as she carefully constructs a sensible reason for her actions. "Truth be told, I really don't know," Tecna admits much to the bewilderment of Bloom and Flora. "I've been analysing my previous actions and, now that I'm calm, I can see that my accusations were completely illogical. My aversion of Kaneki, I don't know where it came from."
"It was out of character for you," Bloom acknowledges.
"Yes. You're the type to think things through before acting upon your thoughts," Flora advocates.
"I swear that I'll right the wrongs I've done. What I did was wrong and I'm not looking for forgiveness that would be too easy. But when Kaneki wakes I will apologise and I will make amends," Tecna attests, clenching her fists.
A loud explosion garners the attention of the trio which leads to them sprinting ahead where they see a large purplish orb striking bolts of lightning at the school.
"The Trix are behind this, I just know it," Flora declares.
"Come on, we gotta help." The trio sprint towards the school hoping to help before its too late.
Red Fountain Control Room
"Specialists, alpha alert! An unidentified object has launched an attack on Red Fountain. I repeat, an unidentified object has launched an attack on Red Fountain," Codatorta reports over the intercom. The Specialists react immediately by piloting their aircrafts.
"Squadron, in formation," Sky orders and the aircrafts all follow suit before firing at the orb but it dodges all their attacks.
"Sky, if it's looking for a fight then I'm taking it on." Riven breaks formation to chase after the orb on his own. His teammates call out to him in exasperation when he decides to go but that wasn't unusual for him. However, their ire soon turns to worry when the orb zaps at his ship leading it to crash into the forest. Riven assures them he's fine but his ship is busted so he'll be returning to the school.
Receiving the news, Codatorta gives another set of orders while he and Timmy work furiously at the computer to activate the school's defence system. "Sky, Brandon, draw the enemy's fire away from the school."
"Roger that."
"Analysis of the sphere shows massive potential but it's holding back electromagnetic power," Timmy relays.
The doors to the elevator open and Riven comes storming out with his fists clenched. "Codatorta, I recognise Darcy's style anywhere. That sphere is just a ploy to divert our attention."
"I should've known the Trix would be back. They'll be trying to get to the basement level, they're after the Codex," Codatorta growls before activating his mic to relay orders. "All senior guards to the Codex room ready for battle. First-year specialists mount your dragons and protect the lower levels."
"Codatorta, the sphere stopped attacking. What should we do?" Sky inquires as he and Brandon continue to chase the orb over the forest area and far from the school.
"Position yourself over the lake, the Trix might strike from there."
The doors to the elevator open once again but this Helia exited while escorting Bloom, Flora and Tecna to the control room. "Codatorta, Bloom, Flora and Tecna are here to help," Helia informs.
"Hi girls," Timmy greets amicably spinning on his chair to face them.
"Thank you for the offer, but please sit tight and let us specialists handle it," Codatorta requests, not once looking up from the screen as his focus was on the computer. "Dragon riders, radio formation. Begin reconnaissance."
Timmy's screen begins flashing so he spins back to his keyboard to discover why he accesses the security camera and gasps at what he sees. "There's a gaping hole in the roof of the arena," Timmy alerts while pointing to the hole with a thick layer of frost around the edges.
"It's the Trix. Everyone go, use whatever means necessary. They must be stopped," Codatorta demands slamming his fist onto the desk. The Winx, Riven and Helia head to the elevator to do just that but Tecna stops upon realising that Timmy wasn't following.
"Hey Timmy, aren't you coming to fight with us?" Tecna inquires hopefully.
"No, Tecna, my place is here."
Just before they could leave the command centre, the elevator opens to reveal Sky who falters when he spots Bloom.
"Sky, we don't have time for a lovers spat," Riven reminds.
"You're right, Riven, let's go."
The group managed to reach the outside where they meet up with another squadron of specialists. They see the Trix fly by thus gave chase. Riven and another specialist, Spencer, run on ahead up the stairs but see no one when they reach the top. Icy ambushes them, knocking out Spencer. This jolts Riven into action who grabs the sword he dropped only to be attacked by Stormy and meet the same fate as his partner.
The others manage to reach the top just in time to see the Trix heading for an open hangar so Sky quick radios Brandon to notify him of the development and request back up.
"It would be my pleasure, lover boy," Brandon responds before flying his aircraft to the G4 Hangar. He switches his plane to autopilot and leaps into battle with the Trix, but not before letting out one more quip. "Welcome to Red Fountain ladies."
Darcy duplicates herself and each clone cast Sphere of Midnight. Brandon manages to slash 4 of them but the 5th smacked into him from behind.
"Hold it," Sky rushes in the room with the Winx and Helia.
"Well, who's my next little hero?" Icy coos, fluttering her lashes as her sisters snicker at the patronising action. "Okay, Stormy, have a little fun. Don't get carried away." Stormy chuckles at the chance of beating these pesky fairies on her own while Icy and Darcy take their leave.
Tecna acts first, firing a spell at Stormy, but the witch dodges and counters with her own attack which sends Tecna crashing to the ground. Helia takes his own shot with his string glove but that proved futile as well.
"I'll take care of her. You guys go after Icy and Darcy," Helia instructs while he checks up on the disorientated Tecna. The others agree and go after Icy and Darcy. As they run down the hall, Timmy informs them that the Trix are getting close to the Codex room and the only possible way for them to beat the Trix is to head straight.
Sky informs the girls of a shortcut before opening an elevator shaft, he grabs the cable and slides down while the girls fly with Tecna rejoining them after informing them that Helia was defeated by Stormy who flew on ahead.
They spot Stormy and Flora attempts to attack only for Stormy to overpower her. Bloom and Tecna check up on her but she tells that the Trix are top priority and she'll catch up.
At the Codex room, the senior guards guard the entrance to the Codex when frost and ice slowly encase the room and snow suddenly falls from nowhere
The Trix saunter into the room like they belong there and freeze all of the guards when they attempt to fulfil their duty. The Trix titter at the pathetic display, openly mocking the guards for their weakness before focusing on the huge golden scale.
"These scales are the key that will give us access to the Codex," Icy explains, hands on her hips as she examines the scales closely.
"Shall we do this my way?" Stormy offers, sparks of lightning dancing between her fingertips.
"Go ahead. Smash stuff. It always works," Darcy bolsters despite knowing what would happen.
"Mega Lightning Storm." The lightning is absorbed and reflected back at Stormy who, despite being the witch of storms, was not insulated against strikes of lightning.
"Stormy brilliant as always." Darcy snickers.
"Anyone could have guessed it was booby-trapped," Icy adds, rolling her eyes.
"I'd say it some kind of balancing act. Find the right weight and the door opens," Darcy hums, hand on her chin.
"The balance must be achieved using one of these items," Icy guesses as she examines the items laying before the scale.
"I bet they all trigger lethal traps except one."
"That was too close for comfort," Stormy groans as she soothes her sore behind.
"The counterweight looks pretty heavy so the stone would be the most logical choice, but that's too obvious so it must be it's opposite the feather." Darcy picks up the feather and examines it before handing it to Icy. "Oh, Icy, I'm sorry, this is your show and anyway I'm sure you want to be the one to unlock the Codex."
"Aw, you're a backstabbing coward Darcy and I love you for that," Icy coos as a proud elder sister before shoving the feather back into Darcy's hands. "Go ahead put the feather in or I'll cut you into tiny ice cubes."
A boomerang slices through the air and is embedded into a stone pillar. The Trix spin on their heels to see Sky and the Winx ready for battle.
"Icy. Stop it, witch," Sky demands.
"Ooh, you again. I'm scared now," Icy taunts before dodging a swing from Sky and countering which sends Bloom and Flora crashing to the ground. Darcy saunters to the fallen Sky and casts an attack only for Bloom to intercept and counter.
"Leave her to me." The second the words came out of Stormy's mouth, something is launched at her head, barely giving her any time to duck. It was Timmy as backup.
"Alright, way to go, Timmy," Tecna cheers.
"That's enough. Tornado Thunder." Fed up, Stormy summons a tornado which blows away her and her sisters' enemies except for Sky who is fatally struck by Icy.
"The power of Gloomix makes this almost boring," Darcy comments bored while inspecting her nails.
"The weight of Red Fountain. Physical weight, moral weight, magical weight, weightlessness, economic weight, social weight, military weight, weight of knowledge and the weight of communication." Having put down the feather, Icy tries to gauge what each object represents. She glances to the boomerang still in the wall. "Hmm, the specialists are masters of weapons, it must be the sword, but that would be too easy. Now Saladin is a wizard so it could be the crystal but wait that pompous Red Fountain attitude. The moral weight! Unreal, I have to follow the path of morality, well I guess, the ends justify the means."
Icy places a stone doll into the scale and the floor opens up to reveal a spiral staircase leading to the depths. The Trix stroll down the steps where they see the Codex encased in a glass box.
"It's ours. The first quadrant of the Codex." Icy freezes the glass, making it frigid enough for shattering, but suddenly falls to her knees much to the shock of her sisters. She screams and covers her ears while shaking her head and begging for the noise to end.
Sensing another form of life, Darcy disappears then reappears behind Athena and grabs the pixie. Athena squeaks as Darcy tightens her grip, slowly crushing the pixie.
The pain causes Athena to lose hold of her spell thus freeing Icy who is left heaving on the floor. Regaining her sanity, Icy gingerly removes her hands from her ears only to see her skin stained with a red liquid which sent her anger skyrocketing.
"Where is it?!" Icy shrieks in utter rage and, knowing not to get on her bad side, Darcy throws Athena to Icy who freezes the poor guardian pixie into a block of ice.
"Are you bleeding?" Stormy tentatively reaches out to Icy's ear but her hand is smacked away.
"Let's just get the Codex," Icy growls as she kicks the glass and snatches the Codex. The Trix make their way up the stairs only to be shot at by Timmy.
"Don't move. Stay right there," Timmy demands.
"Come on, Timmy, you got the drop on them." Tecna encourages Timmy to shoot again and restrain them. Bloom wakes up and sees Sky unmoving and runs to his fallen body.
"Well, what do we have here? Another boy playing hero?" In any other case, Icy would be amused by such a feeble attempt of chivalry, but after dealing with Athena's spell, she was in no mood to deal with wannabe heroes.
"Come on Timmy stop them."
'With their new powers, the Trix can't be beaten.' The hand holding the gun begins to shake. 'I could sacrifice myself but it wouldn't help anybody... All we can do is find a way to beat them before the next battle.' Timmy lowers his gun after realising that he is not enough against the Trix. The Trix walk passed him, Darcy even pats his cheek while complimenting his choice.
'Oh, Timmy, how could you. Why?' Tecna desperately tries to keep the tears at bay and snaps at Timmy. "You're a coward!" Tecna goes after the Trix herself but Stormy knocks her aside easily as the fairy is blinded by her rage.
"No, I don't believe it. Sky, please say something," Bloom pleads as she shakes his shoulders hoping to wake him up.
Flora kneels by his body and checks his pulse before putting her head on his chest. "His pulse is weak. His heart is slowing down," Flora informs.
"Please, Sky, don't do this to me. Open your eyes. Please don't leave me," Bloom begs, tears streaming down her cheeks as she cradles Sky's face. "This cannot be the end, I love you. It's not the end," Bloom declares before her hair starts to float and her body glows a soft orange.
"It's from within Bloom. I never felt such powerful magic," Tecna states as she and the others watch the orange glow transfers to Sky and pulse. Sky opens his eyes before slowly sitting up, he clutches his head from the throbbing pain before looking around.
Bloom jumps into Sky's arms and hugs him tight while sobbing into his shoulder. Sky falters at the action but wraps an arm around Bloom's waist while running his other hand through her hair, whispering sweet comforts.
They separate and Sky finds the need to apologise for his jealousy. "Thank you, Bloom. I've been stupid." The two hug again.
"I hate to interrupt this touching moment, but could I get some help?" Helia requests hobbling into the room clutching his side.
"Helia!" Flora rushes over and manages to catch him just as he collapses. She helps situate him to the floor and Bloom gets to work on healing him with her new powers.
"What happened?" Timmy inquires.
"I got a full blast of lightning," Helia responds pulling the torn part of his uniform to reveal his blackened skin. His breath stutters at the movement and he winces before letting go of the fabric.
"Specialists, report in."
"Codatorta, the Trix got away with the Codex-"
"All because Timmy was a coward and let them!" Tecna interjects harshly.
"And Helia was injured by Stormy's lightning," Flora adds after elbowing Tecna for her rude comment.
"On the plus side, I can taste barbeque," Helia jokes chuckling before his laughter breaks into a wet, painful hack.
"That's not too bad. Everyone likes barbeque," Riven comments before being snapped at by Codatorta.
"What about Athena?" Codatorta demands.
"Who?" The group questions.
"Athena. She's Red Fountain's Guardian Pixie and the protector of the Codex. What happened to her?"
Sky heads down the stairs and runs back up with a block of ice that contains a pixie.
"Bloom, I'll be fine, help her," Helia tells her and Bloom does just that. It took 10 minutes to melt the cube, Bloom had to be extra careful with her fire since she didn't want to burn the little pixie.
"Thank you." Athena's teeth chatters, her body wracked with shivers as she rubs her arms to warm up her body.
"Athena, are you alright?"
"Yes, but the Codex was taken," Athena sniffles, whether it was from the cold or failing in her duty as guardian of the Codex, is unknown to the rest.
"It's fine as long as you're alright," Codatorta responds. "Sky, Timmy, get Helia to the medical bay then escort the girls back to Alfea."
"Yes, sir."
Sky and Timmy help carry Helia to the medical bay which was jam-packed with injured specialists. Bloom and Flora offered their assistance but they were shot down.
Despite the formers newfound healing powers and the latter's mastery of potions, it is illegal for civilians to treat any injured person with magic if they are not students of medicine or medical personnel so the trio resolved to help clean up the fallen debris. With their magic, cleanup went smoothly with little to no hitches although their magic wasn't enough to clean everything up.
Eventually, Saladin told the girls to return to Alfea assuring them that they have done enough for Red Fountain. Sky, Timmy and Riven bring out their wind riders and extra helmets for the girls.
Timmy glances at Tecna who was immersed in a conversation with Flora and Riven. Should he approach her? She seemed pretty mad at his actions. He should explain, Tecna was always one for reason and logic. He picks up the extra helmet and walks to her with purpose.
Tecna sees Timmy coming towards them and her lips curl into a sneer, she grabs Riven by his arm and drags him to his bike while thanking him for the ride. Riven stumbles at the unexpected action before regaining his footing, he turns to Timmy before throwing his hands into the air with a shrug of his shoulders as if saying 'I don't know'.
Flora shakes her head at the blatant show of impudence before going over to Timmy and placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Just give her some time." Flora smiles kindly before reaching for her own helmet.
"Please take me to the station," Tecna requests clipping on her helmet. The others stop themselves from turning on their bikes to stare incredulously at her.
"No way. We were told to take you, girls, straight to Alfea, no pit stops," Riven elucidates firmly.
"Actually, Tecna isn't a student at Alfea anymore," Bloom reveals.
"What?! Why?"
"Remember those theories I kept sending you?" Tecna reminds Timmy.
"About Kaneki being some kind of monster?" Timmy replies adjusting his glasses before the implications caught up with him. "Tecna, you didn't."
"Yeah, I tried to prove my hypothesis by attacking Kaneki," Tecna reveals watching how she scuffs the ground with her foot. "The next morning, Kaneki was sent to the hospital and when he came back, he didn't."
"Even I don't understand it, the gap between my assault that night and the incident the next morning..." Tecna trails off as her thoughts wander but she shakes her head and continues. "But nonetheless it's my fault for Kaneki's catatonia. I was the one who caused his injuries thus I shall accept my punishment without argument so Riven please take me to the station. I will return to my home planet, Zenith."
The guys couldn't find anything to say after that confession so they start up their bikes and take the girls where they had to go before returning to Red Fountain. Bloom and Flora met with Faragonda to warn her of the Trix stealing the Codex only for Faragonda to reveal that Saladin informed her of the matter.
Darkar's Castle
The Trix fly swift through the air, their glee apparent by their teeth-baring grins as they rush into the Darkar's throne room.
The Phoenix sat languidly at his throne, watching through an orb which he quickly vanquishes upon their arrival. Darcy saw a glimpse of white and she knew it to be the fairy boy whose name eludes her. It couldn't be anyone else, her lord is obsessed with that boy for whatever reasons her sisters fail to comprehend.
Darcy wasn't stupid, quite the contrary, she was the most intelligent of her sisters. Unlike her sisters who prefer to shot first then ask questions, Darcy prefers to observe her surroundings. Knowledge is power, after all.
This infatuation that Darkar has, it's reserved solely for that guy. Whatever extra powers her sisters think they can seduce from Darkar is futile. He'll sell them down the river them at the drop of a hat.
That's something Darcy hopes they would soon understand.
Darkar appears disinterested at their arrival, almost expecting them to have failed once again, but beckons them closer nonetheless.
"Master, we have captured Red Fountain's Codex," Icy gleefully offers up the Codex to him.
Darkar grins evilly as he has the Codex drift towards his outstretched talon hand. "Excellent. It appears you three are not as useless as I thought."
Stormy growls at the slander and was about to lash out when Darcy seizes her shoulder. Stormy throws a look of disbelief, but Darcy shakes her head as a warning not to act rashly so she backed down for now.
At this rate convincing Stormy might be a walk in the park. All that is left is Icy.
