Chapter 71

The Vault

Lily was still asleep when I opened my eyes. The sun was already up and felt like it might be around noon. I kissed her forehead softly.

"Lily? Lily we should get up."

She opened her eyes slowly and looked around. She smiled at me and kissed me softly before we got up. Potter was up talking to Ollivander.

"I don't suppose you know what sorts of things Bellatraix has in her vault?" Lily asked me.

"I'd tell you if I did."

Fleur dropped something in the kitchen and Lily went to go help.

"Draco."

I looked up at Granger as she came down the stairs.

"Harry wants you and Lily to come upstairs."

"She's in the kitchen."

"You go up I'll get her."

She didn't exactly give me time to answer either way. I went upstairs and Weasley didn't even acknowledge me. Potter looked at me.

"Do you know of anything valuable that Bellatraix could have in her vault?"

"Lily asked the same thing. If I knew anything I'd tell you. In all honesty my mother and I try not to acknowledge her as family."

"Well, then we're gonna have to find out ourselves."

My eyes went wide.

"What's going on?"

I didn't look at Lily as she came in, my eyes remained locked on Potter.

"Are you mental?"

"If you have a better idea I'm all for it." he said.

I walked over and leaned close.

"Do you know what they will do if they caught us? Gringotts... no one can break in there, you know that. We'd be taking an unnecessary risk."

"You and I both know he would never use any old thing for a horcrux. Your aunt went mental the second she saw the sword. There's something in there. And I'm pretty sure it's another horcrux."

I took a deep breath.

"If you make a deal with that goblin you need to make sure you are very precise. Goblins are not the most trustworthy and they're tricky."

"Oi! What're you two whispering about?"

I looked at Lily.

"I'm begging you to think twice about this one."

"I know you want to protect her. You think I don't?"

"I never said that."

"We have to do this. And I can't believe I'm saying this but I need your help too. You know Death Eaters. You can help us."

I crossed my arms.

"What does he want? The goblin?"

He looked at the sword and I growled.

"Of course. Potter that's the only thing that can destroy these bloody things."

"I'm hoping there's something in her vault he might want more."

"Fair point."

"Just stay with my sister and help us become death eaters. At least in appearance."

I smirked.

"Fine. But don't say I didn't warn you."

"Fine."

I explained everything to Lily

"Well, we've done crazier things before. I'm game."

I couldn't help but smile.

"So, what's the plan?"

"Well..."

Snape's POV

I'd heard that Potter had been captured and taken to Malfoy manor with Weasley and Granger. There was no mention of Draco and my daughter. I was relieved to hear they'd also escaped. No doubt Draco and Lily had something to do with it. I rarely left my office. I was trying to be involved as little as possible. Though I felt incredibly guilty, letting the Carrows do as they pleased to the students. I also knew that there was a group of them fighting back and hiding somewhere in the castle, most likely in the room of requirement. Every once in a while I would play my part and walk through the halls as though I were monitoring the staff and students. Those who weren't afraid always gave me hateful glares. I deserved every one of them.

Lily's POV

We decided to dress up as Death Eaters and turn Hermione into Bellatrix with Polyuice potion. Before we started this journey I'd made several potions. One of them thankfully was polyjuice. There was a strand of her hair caught on Hermione's jacket that we used.

"How'd you know we would Polyjuice?"

"I didn't. I just prepared. Dad always told me to be prepared."

Harry rubbed my arm.

"He taught you well. I don't know where we'd be without your potions and curses."

I smiled at my brother.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you about the letter sooner."

He shook his head.

"No, it's fine. I understand why you didn't. Listen, I know you hate dad for what he did to Snape. I wish I'd never seen that. Snape was a good father to you, and I'm sorry he did this to you."

I looked down at my potions.

"I know he had to have done it for a reason. He always told me everything he did was to protect me. I believe him."

He didn't argue. He just hugged me.

"I love you, Harry."

"I love you too."

Draco came in after he left the room.

"You ready?"

I took a deep breath and nodded.

"Make me look like a death eater." I said.

"I still think you should just turn into a weasel."

"We've gone over this already. I can't always just hide."

He grumbled something but nodded. He waved is wand and then nodded.

"Right, take a look. Just a simple glamour spell."

I turned to the mirror.

"Did you have to make me blond?"

"Oi!"

I smirked and turned to him.

"Darling, you're sexy as a blond. It's your natural color."

"True."

I kissed him softly but he wasn't letting me go just yet.

"Don't tell me you find me attractive as a blond."

He smirked.

"I find you attractive no matter what."

I rolled my eyes and kissed him passionately. He groaned softly when my hips pressed against his.

"We don't have time for this." He groaned.

"Make time." I growled.

I reached down and quickly unbuckled his belt.

"Lily..."

He was already fully hard.

"I need you."

He looked at me, his silver-blue eyes full of lust. I waved my wand at the door and spelled it locked. He grabbed me and lifted me into his arms. He held me against the wall while trying to free himself from his trousers. We managed to remove the cloths covering us and then he was sliding into me. He breathed heavily against my neck and wasted no time. I held him as tightly as I could while he pounded into me at an impressive speed. I started to moan and he kissed me to keep me quiet. I could hold back any longer and moaned loudly into the kiss as I came around his pulsing cock. He slammed into me once more and held my hips tightly as he spilled his load inside me. I didn't trust my legs to hold me if he set me down, thankfully he didn't, at least not right away. He breathed heavily against my neck.

"You're right, you can't be blond."

I chuckled and he set me down, using a few cleansing spells before fixing our cloths. He waved his wand and my hair turned red.

"That's... sort of better."

I smirked and waved my wand, making him unrecognizable as Draco Malfoy before we went outside. We waited by Dobby's grave while Hermione finished getting ready. When she came out I almost screamed. She looked miserable.

"How do I look?" she asked.

"Hideous." Ron said.

"Perfect replica." Draco said. "And... I really am sorry."

"You didn't do anything-"

"But my family! My aunt did that to you. And I haven't always been the nicest to you. I'm sorry."

I laid my hand on Draco's chest.

"I don't blame you, Draco."

I smiled at Hermione. She started to smile and I stopped her.

"Wait till you're yourself again."

"Yeah, good idea."

Harry looked at Griphook.

"You can give that to Hermione to hold."

He seemed reluctant but he put it in Hermione's bottomless bag.

"Is everyone ready?"

"Ready as we'll ever be I'm sure." Draco said.

I nodded and we all joined hands. We apparated to Knockturn Alley.

"Ah, morning Madam Lestrange."

"Good morning."

We all looked at Hermione.

"Good morning? You're Bellatrix Lestrange not some dewy-eyed school girl!" Griphook hissed.

"Easy!" Ron growled.

"Can we get on with this?" I asked. "I'd like to look like myself again."

We proceeded to the bank and walked inside. It was incredibly quiet and eerie. Hermione cleared her throat as we reached the goblin in the front.

"I wish to enter my vault."

The goblin didn't even look up.

"Identification."

"I hardly think that will be necessary."

The goblin looked up.

"Ah, Madam Lestrange."

He walked off and I looked at Draco nervously.

"I don't like to be kept waiting!" Hermione snapped.

He came back with another goblin. I could hear one of the guards approaching from behind.

"Madam Lestrange, would you mind presenting your wand?" asked the goblin.

"And why should I do that?"

"It's the bank's policy. I'm sure you understand given the current climate."

"No, I very well do not understand!" said Hermione.

"I'm afraid I must insist."

Draco moved closer to me, making me feel a little safer, but not much. The goblin sniffed and then sighed with a weird smile on his face. I smirked knowing Harry did something.

"Very well. Madam Lestrange if you would follow me."

I looked at Draco and he winked. We followed the goblin into the vaults. We got into a cart and took off. Draco put his arm around me and I smiled.

"I thought we were gonna be caught for sure." He said.

"We almost were. Good job Harry."

Our little victory was just that, little. We were approaching a little waterfall, but this was Gringotts. It couldn't just be a waterfall.

"Griphook! What is that?"

The second the water touched us, Draco's hair turned blond again and mine turned black. Hermione also looked like herself again. The cart stopped and then dumped us out. I screamed as we fell and Draco reached for my hand.

"Arresto momentum!"

Hermione's spell saved us just before hit the ground. Although, we could've been let down a little gentler. Draco helped me up and I looked up from where we'd fallen.

"The thief's downfall, washes away all enchantments." Griphook said.

"Rather fitting name." I growled.

"This way!" the goblin said.

We heard a roar somewhere deeper in the vaults. My eyes widened.

"Please tell me that's not what I think it is." I said.

Griphook didn't answer me, he just kept walking. The roars grew louder until we reached their source.

"Oh my god..."

Draco's silver-blue eyes were wide. Griphook went over to a box and picked something up before shaking it. The dragon immediately shrank back and made what I could only describe as a whimpering noise.

"It's been trained to expect pain when it hears the noise."

I glared at the goblin.

"That's barbaric." Hermione said.

She was right but we had no other choice. We got into the vault and looked around. I bumped into a cup and it fell to the ground with a clang. It started to multiply!

"They've added the gemini curse. Anything you touch will multiply." Griphook said.

One of them hit my ankle and I cried out in pain.

"It burns!"

"Give me the sword!"

Hermione tossed Harry the sword. He started to climb up a pile of gold towards what could only be the horcrux. Hermione and Ron started to bump into things and we were running out of room. Draco pulled me into his arms.

"Potter!"

He looked back but then kept going for the cup.

"Potter we have to go!"

He managed to get hold get hold of the cup with the tip of the sword. He swung the sword and the cup flew off. It was Griphook who caught it.

"We had a deal Griphook!"

"The cup for the sword!"

Harry glared at him but gave him the sword. Griphook gave him the cup but then smirked.

"I said I would get you in. I never said anything about getting you out."

I narrowed my eyes and waved my wand. I burned Griphook's face and tried to get the sword but he was faster than I expected. He cut my hand with the sword and I cried out.

"Lily!"

Draco grabbed me and lifted me onto his shoulders. The gold was piling up and if we didn't get out we'd be buried in it. I needed to get that door open.

Draco's POV

For once being so tall was paying off! I could keep Lily above the gold at least a little longer. I couldn't see Potter, Weasley or Granger anymore. Suddenly, I felt the gold pulling me down towards the left. I heard the door opening and we all tumbled out. I heard that damn goblin shouting 'thieves'!

"You little runt!" I snarled.

I got up but I stopped when I remembered the dragon.

"Well, we still have Bogrod!" Weasley said.

The dragon fried him and I looked at Weasley.

"That's unfortunate!"

There were guards firing at us and we had no way out.

"Right, I told you all this was suicide!" I shouted.

"I have an idea... but it's mad." Granger said.

"I'll take mad over dying!"

I saw her run and jump onto the dragon's back. My eyes widened and I smirked. We had Lily go next, then Potter, then Weasley and I was last. I held onto Lily tightly. Lily and Granger destroyed the chains holding the dragon. It started sniffing and looked up. It started climbing up the wall and I nearly fell off the damn thing. It broke through the roof but it didn't go anywhere.

"It's not moving!" I said.

Granger waved her wand, the dragon roared and then took off. I was surprised it still knew how to fly, who knows how long it had been down there. Apparently it was one of those things you just don't forget. It was actually quite fun, flying through the sky on a dragon. Lily looked at me with a big smile. I wrapped my arm around her and kissed her cheek.

"Now this is a story we can tell our children."

She smiled at me again and took my hand.
