Chapter 73

Ravenclaw Horcrux

Draco's POV

If I were to be honest with myself, I was proud to be a so called 'blood traitor'. Longbottom started telling us about the Carrows and the changes around Hogwarts.

"And what about dad?" Lily asked.

"Hardly ever see him."

"So he hasn't done anything? To anyone?"

Longbottom looked sympathetic.

"No. He hasn't done anything I promise."

I gave him a grateful look and he seemed surprised. He went through the portrait hole first.

"Listen up you lot. I've brought you a surprise."

"No more of Aberforth's cooking I hope. I'd be surprised if we can digest it."

I knew Finnigan's voice. Longbottom moved so Potter could go forward. Everyone clapped as their Golden Trio went forward. I was a bit scared but with Lily holding my hand I as able to go forward. The only ones who seemed alright with me were Lovegood and Potter's old girlfriend, Cho. Some kid I didn't recognize ran over and started speaking into a machine saying lightning has struck.

"So, what's the plan Harry?" Longbottom asked.

"Okay, there's something we need to find. Something hidden here in the castle. And it might help us defeat You-Know-Who." Potter told them.

"Right, what is it?" Longbottom asked.

Lily wasn't paying attention which wasn't like her.

"Lily?"

She looked at me. I knew exactly what she was thinking. I sighed before pulling her into my arms.

"Go. Just be careful." I whispered.

"I love you." she told me.

I kissed her hard and she walked off.

"Lily?"

"Let her go."

For once he didn't argue with me.

"And we don't know what it is."

"Where is it?"

"We don't know that either. I know that's not much to go on."

'That's nothing to go on." Finnigan said.

"We think it might have something to do with Ravenclaw."

"What about Rowena Ravenclaw's lost diadem?"

"Oh bloody hell here we go." Weasely groaned.

"The lost diadem of Ravenclaw? It's quite famous."

"Yes but Luna, it's lost. There's not a person alive who's seen it."

Before anyone could discuss further, Potter's girlfriend came in.

"Harry."

"Hi."

I looked at him in disbelief. I leaned in.

"You haven't seen her in how long? You say 'hi'?"

He scowled at me.

"Snape knows. He knows Harry's here."

I had to find Lily, but Potter told me to go with Weasley and Granger.

Lily's POV

Students were heading for the great hall. I found my brother and climbed into his hood. Everyone filed into the great hall and dad came in.

"Many of you are surely wondering why I have summoned you at this hour. It's come to my attention that earlier this evening... Harry Potter was sighted in Hogsmead."

No one moved.

"Now... should anyone, student or staff, attempt to hide Mr. Potter they will be punished. In a manner consistent with with severity of their transgression. Furthermore, any person found to have knowledge of these events, who fails to come forward, will be treated as equally guilty." dad said.

Still no one moved or spoke.

"Now then," he moved forward slowly. "If anyone here, has knowledge of Mr. Potter's movements this evening, I invite them to step forward. Now."

Harry walked out to face my dad.

"It seems you have a security problem, headmaster. And from the looks of it, its quite extensive."

Everyone walked in behind us.

Snape's POV

I couldn't see Lily, but I knew without a doubt she was close by.

"How dare you stand where he stood! Tell them how it happened that night! Tell them how you looked him in the eye, a man who trusted you! And killed him!" Potter shouted.

I raised my wand and then Minerva came forward to stand in front of Potter.

Lily's POV

I couldn't stop myself from jumping forward. I returned to myself midair and got between dad and McGonagell.

"Lillian!"

I turned to dad and raised my wand.

"Surrender." I said.

He had lowered his wand immediately.

"Please, daddy." I said.

He didn't say anything but I could see the pain in his dark eyes.

"Please. Surrender and we can end this. We can go home. Be a proper family. Please, I'm begging you." I said.

Before he could say anything, I was moved aside and McGonagall started to fire spells at my dad. Draco ran to me and helped me up. The death eaters behind dad were taken down during the fight and then dad disapparated. I closed my eyes and leaned into Draco.

"I'm sorry, darling." he said.

McGonagall lit the braziers in the hall and everyone cheered. When I looked for my brother I saw him sinking to the ground.

"Harry?"

I ran over and McGonagall knelt down next to him. I heard a young girl start screaming and Harry jumped up to go find her. Another girl started screaming and then we heard it. We heard his voice. I grabbed Draco's hand.

"I know that some of you will wish to fight. Some of you may even think that to fight is wise. But this is folly. Give me Harry Potter. Do this and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter and I shall leave Hogwarts untouched. Give me Harry Potter and you will be rewarded. You have one hour."

Everyone looked around but no one moved.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Someone grab him!"

Draco raised his wand and stepped in front of my brother.

"Lay a finger on Potter and I'll remove it." He snarled.

I smiled and squeezed his hand. Ginny was next and soon everyone but the Slytherins were standing in front of my brother.

"STUDENTS OUT OF BED!"

We all turned as Flich came running in with a lantern and his cat.

"STUDENTS IN THE CORRIDOR!"

"They are supposed to be out of bed you blithering idiot!" McGonagall snapped.

Draco and I looked at each other and smiled.

"Oh... sorry ma'am."

"As it happens, Mr. Filch, your timing is most opportune." she walked down to us. "I would like you, if you please, to lead Miss Parkinson and the rest of Slytherin House-"

"No! I'm helping."

Blaise ran over to us and winked.

"And where is it I'll be leading them to, ma'am?"

"The dungeons will do."

I couldn't stop myself from laughing. Draco put his hand around my waist. Filch took them away and I nodded.

"I wish I could see Pansy locked away."

Draco kissed my temple and McGonagall came over.

"Potter, what is it that you need?"

"Time, professor! As much as you can give me!" Harry told her.

She told us she would secure the castle.

"Potter, Miss Snape... it's good to see you." She said.

We smiled at her and Harry looked at me.

"You and Malfoy stay here. Help them fight."

"What about you?"

"I'm going to Ravenclaw common room. Hopefully there'll be something there."

I hugged him tightly before he left. I looked at Draco.

"Ready?"

He kissed me hard.

"Now I'm ready."

I laughed a bit and we went to find McGonagall.
