Chapter 80
Snape-Malfoy Apothecary
The next morning we contacted the shop keeper. He was happy to let us run the shop. We promised to give him twenty percent of the profits, but he said he would only need ten.
"You plan to start a family? You'll need it much more than I do. I have enough saved." he told us.
We spent an entire week cleaning up and organizing. When we were done, I'd never been so proud in my life. Draco wrapped his arms around me from behind.
"Snape would be proud of you. So proud."
I leaned into him with a smile.
"I hope so."
"Have you thought of a name?"
"Snape-Malfoy Apothecary? I know it's rather basic but-"
"It's perfect."
I looked up and kissed him softly. The bell on the door rang and we turned. Harry and Ginny walked in.
"Looks great. Name?"
"Snape-Malfoy Apothecary." we said.
Ginny smiled and Harry rolled his eyes. She smacked him and I smirked.
"Heard about your dad."
Draco sighed and I gave Harry a warning look.
"He hit you?"
The cut was gone but the bruise was still there. Draco just nodded.
"I'm sorry."
"He cut me off, I was worried I wouldn't be able to support Lily and the family we hope to have. I have money but not enough. That's when Lily came up with this brilliant idea."
"You would run an apothecary." he said.
"Technically Draco is running it. I'm the one making the merchandise." I told them.
"Yeah that makes more sense. We came to invite you to dinner." Ginny said.
"Not tonight. We're both exhausted, but tomorrow would be better."
"That works. Malfoy does look tired. Dark circles and pale... looks like a vampire."
"Then he's the world's sexiest vampire."
I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him hard.
"Oh for Merlin's sake!"
I felt Draco smile into the kiss. When we separated Harry had gone outside. Ginny smirked and told us a time before leaving.
We officially opened the shop the next week. I'd hung a picture of my dad on the wall behind the counter. Next to it I hung up another picture of my dad and myself. I heard the door ring. I smiled and went out but the smile fell right off my face.
"Miss Snape. We need to talk."
"I have nothing to say to you."
He smirked.
"How much?"
I narrowed my eyes.
"Excuse me?"
"How much do you want? For you to leave my son."
I glared at him and drew my wand.
"GET OUT!"
"Think about what you're doing. I can give you enough money to set you up for a comfortable life."
"This is your last warning." I snarled.
"You'll see things my way... soon enough."
"Don't threaten me. You know who my father was. You do anything to me, my family, my home or my shop and I will hunt you down."
I saw a brief flicker of fear but it quickly disappeared.
"You'd best think about my offer."
I waved my wand and threw him out the door.
"Who the bloody hell do you think you are!? Offering me money to leave the love of my life! You hit your son! I love your son. And I will never let you hurt him again!"
People had started to come out of other shops to see what was going on.
"The only thing you'll be known for, Lucius Malfoy, is being Voldemort's little man bitch! I swear on my father's grave, if you ever both me or my family again I will make you wish you were never born!"
He stood up and glared at me.
"You'll regret this."
"The only regret I have is that I couldn't save my father. GO!"
He disapparated and I fell to my knees. Several people came and asked if I was alright.
"Lily? LILY!"
It was Ron and Hermione. Ron was demanding to know what was going while Hermione knelt down beside me.
"Lily?"
I looked at Hermione and told her everything. Ron looked beyond angry. Draco was gonna go mental.
