Chapter 28: Give It Your Best Shot

Thanks for reading, supporting, for the constructive criticism, and feedback! God gave me you for the ups and downs. God gave me you for the days of doubt. "Fly you fools!" (Gandalf v.)

Gale was strung up by his hands to a strong tree branch. The three guys took turns punching him for for fun. They stripped off his body armor, so he would feel the full impact of their blows. He could feel their envy and hatred everytime they hit him. He knew their type. They were the type to volunteer for the Hunger Games for sport. They loved their chance to inflict pain on others, and to be cruel.

"Is that it?" Gale asked, with a cackle.

"I think he wants more!" one of the boys yelled.

"Let's give him what he wants then!" the second boy yelled, taking out his dagger.

"Slice him up good!" the third boy howled.

The two girls walked into the clearing, their heads down, and frustrated looks on their faces.

"Don't come back without her! Why are you here?" the first boy screamed.

The girls flinched. Gale made a note of that.

"Where's Ruby?" the second boy demanded.

The two girls said nothing. They looked at eachother and then down at their feet.

"Stay here! Come on Adonis, and Rell. Let's show these girls how to do the job right. Don't let him out of your sight. Don't even talk to him." the first boy said, as he and the other boys headed into the darkness.
