Chapter 29: Fearless

Thanks for reading, for the feedback, for supporting, and the constructive criticism. Why does kindness seem so revolutionary? "Expecto PATRONUM!" (Harry Potter v.) Enjoy!

"I don't see anything man." Adonis said, stating the obvious.

"She's hiding, moron. Look on the ground, and in those leaves. She can't have gone far, especially not with Prince Charming back there." Rell said, using his torch to light the way in front of him.

"Shh!" the first boy put his finger to his lips.

He crept though the forest, and caught an animal by surprise. He saw what it was eating. It was Ruby! The first boy stumbled back, and the wolf snarled because he'd had his dinner interrupted. Then he lifted up his head, and howled mournfully.

The boy made a run for it, as yellow eyes lit up the surrounding darkness of the forest. Adonis and Rell followed him back to their campsite. They never made it the whole way though. The wolves overtook them and had a feast until nothing was left of them but their bones.

Katniss, meanwhile, stayed in the shadows. She had followed the girls to their campsite. She saw them sitting on a log, shaken up from being yelled at from the first boy. She also saw Gale strung up by his hands. She felt smug, and pity at the same time. She put an arrow in her hand, and then took aim. She only had to fire twice, and they both fell.
