Pairing: Genos x Kagome Higurashi

"How can a Class S hero not ask out the girl he likes?"

Saitama raised a brow with crossed arms as he saw the cyborg hero looking down at the wooden table inside his home. It was ironic, really. With so much fanmail that Genos received from other girls - and boys - the one girl he had set his eyes on he had a hard time talking to.

But the teenage cyborg was ready - or felt like he was - to ask her out. Of course his fears were getting in the way of actually doing it.

"Sensei…what if she doesn't like me back?" Genos whispered, worry lacing his tone.

"Why wouldn't she like you?"

"Well," Genos raised his hand up to his face before his fingers curled into his palm, "she is a human and I am…not."

"What does that have to do with anything?" Saitama questioned. Sure he was aware of Genos' dilemma with his identity, but he was overthinking it. Genos was the oblivious one if he thought Kagome would care about such little things. She dealt with demons for Kami's sake. Uncrossing his arms, Saitama rested his elbows over the table as his expression hardened. "Genos-kun, she is not a judgmental person. Kagome-chan will like you for who you are in the inside."

The cyborg's eyes widened at his master's words. Watching the C Rank hero scratch the back of his head, he could not help but smile as Saitama whispered that his own advice sounded "too cheesy". "Sensei…".

The sound of a door opening caught their attention. Bringing their eyes to the entrance, both blinked at the sight of the named miko coming in as she held a few groceries. "Ah, gomen," she chuckled, "there was a line at the supermarket and traffic was a bit packed in the other city. Saitama-san, you should really think of relocating in another city."

Saitama nodded with a blank blink before he coughed to catch Genos's attention. With the cyborg's eyes on him, Saitama nudged his head forward. "Go," he whispered, "go ask her out. It is better to try than never knowing what could have been."

Hesitant, Genos nodded slowly as he came onto his feet and made his way towards the miko. "Here, I can help you, Kagome-san." Grabbing three bags into his hands, Genos's cheeks reddened at her smile.

"Arigatou, Genos-kun."

He watched her place a few of the things inside the pantry as he set the things on the counter. Taking a glance towards the silent Saitama, he gulped at the sight of him gesturing with his fingers to go on with the plan. "Um, Kagome-san?"

"What is it, Genos-kun?" She blinked, turning away from the pantry. Noticing his head having bowed down, Kagome slowly lowered her hands from the shelf as she held the bottle of soy sauce.

"I was wondering if…you would like to go," he gulped, "on a date with me?"

The small living space was covered in silence, making the cyborg grip the brown bags in his hands as he stared at the contents inside. The light source inside his chest sparked as wires all over his body made him fidget with nerves.

Kagome's lips curved into a smile, seeing the blonde cyborg gripping the bags. How could she saw 'no' to the hero that had saved her and come to bond with? Placing the soy sauce on the shelf, she slowly closed the pantry door. "I would love to."

Genos' eyes widened as he turned his head towards the smiling miko. Watching her grab the things from inside the bags, he could not help the smile forming on his lips. He turned his head towards his master, seeing him looking into a magazine. His master was definitely a wise man.
