Requested by starmienight: Hi again, well is it ok if you could do a Rinne X Kagome. What would happen if Rinne figures out Kagome is a priestess and he seems to see her as competition, but in the end he starts falling hard for her. I really can't wait for the second season coming this spring!

Anime: Kyoukai no Rinne x Inuyasha

Pairing: Rinne Rokudou x Kagome Higurashi

Red orbs blinked as the Shinigami was frozen on the ground with his hands and legs on all fours. The shadow of the female in front of him had him dead silent. That familiar clothing, that power, that hair!

"K-Kagome-san…?" Rinne whispered the name, almost hoping he was wrong that the female he had come to know had just saved his butt. His red eyes widened as he saw the girl turn around and blink her own blue orbs to him. It was her!

"Are you okay?" Kagome questioned, kneeling down in front of him as he put her bow down. "You didn't get hurt, did you?"

He could not believe what he had witnessed. Sakura's new friend was actually a priestess?! He thought having Sakura with her ghost followers was enough, but Sakura had made a friend that a was priestess? "Y-You're a miko!?" he exclaimed.

The miko sighed, knowing this was to be expected. Of course seeing a miko in this day and age was unusual. History had them written as "extinct". "Rokudo-kun, it's okay," she spoke. She hoped she could calm him down.

Rinne could not believe what he had witnessed. This girl was a miko…his rival in getting rid of these spirits! It was his only way of receiving income and if a miko stole his only job how else was he supposed acquire money!?

Gripping his scythe, he gave the miko a glare. "I won't be defeated by you, Kagome-san!"

The miko blinked - dumbfound.

The echo of the corrupted spirits caught the miko's and shinigami's attention. Looking over her shoulder, Kagome watched as few more of the dark spirits headed their way. Kagome turned back to face the red head. "Rokudo-kun, allow me to help you. I won't interfere in your fights; I will only assist you."

Rinne continued to stare at the miko.

"Allow me to purify these spirits!"

A pink tint dusted over the Rinne's cheeks as he saw the miko's sincerity in her eyes. She was being honest; she meant no ill to her intentions. Gulping, Rinne's fingers curled over his scythe before coming to a stand. He gave her a nod which he quickly received a smile to make his blush darken.

Damn his easy feelings.
