Hiya everyone~! And happy pride month!

I know this year's pride month isn't exactly what most of us are used to, but I hope you find a way to celebrate in your own way.

I hope you all can be proud of who you are. Because no matter who you are and what your gender, sexuality and romantic attraction is you are valid. Don't let anyone tell you you're not. You. Are. Valid.

So yeah, I skipped the Trailmon vs. Trailmon episode, because honestly… nothing would change. Maybe Sophia or Rosalie could take the Kettle Trailmon, but Takuya would still win, so nothing would be different.

Also, it's been 18 chapters and I just realized that Koichi in this story should be wearing his hat! He was wearing it while following Koji and lost it during the fall, but here he never fell and so he should be wearing it.

(I never claimed to be good at remembering stuff….)

Anyway, hope you enjoy this chapter.

Disclaimer: It's nearly 4AM, I'm too tired to own anything other than Sophia, Sonamon, Vibramon, Rosalie, her Spirits and any and all changes to the original plot. Now if you'll excuse me... My bed is calling me, so I'm gonna go knock myself out cold. See ya.

As the gang boarded the Trailmon that would bring them to Hamburger Village, they waved goodbye to Biyomon once more. While riding the Rose Morning Express, they'd made an unexpected stop in Trail Race Town, because the Trailmon they were riding was taking part in the Great Trailmon Race. After deciding they might as well watch the race, they unexpectedly met up with the pink bird digimon again. Trail Race Town was apparently her home. Now that Takuya had won the race, earning him the prize of a trip for 10 to Hamburger Village, it was time to say goodbye again.

"I'm warning you, goggles. Next time you and I take part in the GTR, I'm winning!" Biyomon cried out.

Takuya grinned as he leaned out the door. "Sure you will. If you don't pick Kettle the next time."

"You partnered with all the other Trailmon!" she barked.

The doors closed, cutting their goodbye short. The Worm Trailmon, the same one that won the race along with Takuya, began driving towards Hamburger Village. According to Worm, the ride should be about 30-40 minutes.

"So what's the story on this Hamburger Village?" Takuya asked, curious about the place and why a trip to it was a first place prize.

"It's a hamburger-lover's paradise." Was Bokomon's unhelpful response.

Rosalie rose an eyebrow. "That's all? You have no other information about the place?"

Bokomon shrugged. "There isn't much else to say." he told the younger girl. "It's simply a tourist location. Not much history to the place. It's just a simple village that's known for making the best hamburgers."

Zoe clasped her hands in a little cheer. "Sounds great!" Her rumbling tummy sure agreed.

"Bring on the beef, baby!" Takuya exclaimed.

"Yeah!" JP was excited about the idea of a village full of hamburgers. "I'm gonna eat my body-weight, maybe even all of ours, in burgers." He happily dreamed away thinking about Hamburger Village.

Sophia shook her head in disbelieve. "JP, pick up your drool. It's becoming an ocean here." she told the plump boy. Then she noticed Zoe… "You too, Zoe."

Her sister giggled. "They seem excited about some burgers."

"Like you can talk." Sophia teased the other brunette. "You've been bouncing on the edge of your seat since we left the station."

Rosalie grinned sheepishly. "Well, it's just… If Hamburger Village is the place I think it is, I have some friends to visit."

"Do you mean the Burgermon?" Both girls turned to Koichi in the seat across to them. "Sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop."

Rosalie smiled kindly at him. "It's okay. I'm guessing you're the guy I called back then?" Koichi nodded. "I really hope Hamburger Village is the place where I met those Burgermon. I don't think I've thanked them enough for what they did for me."

Bokomon looked up thoughtfully. "Well, if memory serves, Burgermon do make their homes in Hamburger Village quite often." he commented.

"Well then. If we do meet up with them, I'll have to give them one huge thank you for helping you out." Sophia smiled.

Time flew by during the rest of the ride and before they knew it, they arrived in Hamburger Village. Unfortunately they arrived in a sandstorm. Just from looking around the station, the place seemed abandoned.

Rosalie froze, recognizing the place. "I don't understand…" she muttered.

Tommy looked at her. "Don't understand what?"

"This place… The station was bustling with digimon when I was here. And… And that!" she pointed at the few broken down buildings she could see. "The place looks like there's been a raid… It didn't look like this!" She gasped. "Mama Burgermon!"

She ran ahead, but Takuya quickly grabbed her arm and held her back. "Hold on. We can't just run in like that." he said. "We don't know if whoever did this is still here." he reasoned with her. He let her go when he was sure she wouldn't run again and turned to his team. "Be on the look-out guys."

Keeping their eyes and ears sharp, the warriors went into the deserted-looking village. They walked passed houses and stores, all with bits and pieces destroyed. Some had the patio's smashed, others had the doors and windows broken, support beams for the balconies were smashed and signs were ripped to pieces. Just what went down here?

The sandstorm died down after a while and the warriors took notice of the sound of someone crying. The sandstorm had covered the noise earlier, but now it was clear as day. It came from one of the restaurants, one called D-Burger according to the intact sign.

Takuya moved his goggles back on his head and stared at the digimon crying on the table. "What's up with them?" he wondered.

Rosalie recognized the digimon immediately and ran towards her, quickly followed by Zoe. "Mama Burgermon!" The younger girl cried.

The crying Burgermon looked up from the table. "Rosalie, you're back!" she sounded relieved.

"Yeah… What happened here?" Rosalie immediately jumped to the point. "Did the village get attacked? And why were you crying?" Mama Burgermon looked down at the table again, saddened by the reminder.

Zoe stepped in here. "Are you alright?"

"Oh no, dear." Mama Burgermon sighed. "A giant digimon raided our village. He said something about the three moons making him hungry, so my husband gave him a big plate of our best burgers."

"Now I'm hungry." Takuya commented.

Koichi bumped him lightly with his elbow. "Takuya, be mindful." he scolded.

Rosalie ignored them in favor of something else. "Wait… where's Papa Burgermon?"

Tears welled up in Mama Burgermon's eyes. "The giant digimon liked the burgers so much that he took my husband away to cook for him in his mansion."

"Wow…" Tommy was at a loss for words.

Koji was frowning the whole way through the story. "That's really messed up."

"Yeah!" JP cried. "How are we supposed to get our hamburgers now?!"

Sophia sighed. "Priorities, JP."

Bokomon was equally disappointed in that comment. "Your compassion is astounding."

Rosalie…wasn't as calm with her response. She marched up to JP and grabbed him by the collar of his jumpsuit. "There's a digimon kidnapped here and all you think about it how you're gonna get your burgers?! What is wrong with you?!"

"Daddy's coming back, isn't he mama?" one of Mama Burgermon's babies asked. The other five echoed him.

Mama made up her mind as she stared at the humans in front of her. The lst time humans came to the digital world, they helped save it according to legends. Those legends also said that a boy with goggles had been the leader. So she looked the goggle wearing boy in the eyes as she stood up. "Please young man. Would you and your friends be able to help me find my husband?"

Takuya, not knowing why she asked him and not the girl she clearly knew, hesitated. "I suppose…"

"What do you mean 'I suppose'?!" Rosalie exclaimed, finally done calling JP out. "Of course we'll help!"

Takuya held her back once more. "But we don't even know where to begin looking for him."

Rosalie huffed. She snuck a glance at Sophia, who just shrugged with an apologetic look on her face.

"The monster will bring daddy back if we make a begger burger." one of the baby Burgermon replied helpfully.

"He means a better burger." Mama corrected him. "But I'm afraid that's impossible. My husband makes the best burgers around." she said ruefully. "There's no way anyone could make a better hamburger than my husband… Oh dear, what are we going to do…" Mama started crying in her hands.

"The monster said that to get daddy back we have to have the begger burger ready before he moved three times." "No silly! He said before the three moons align." "That's soon." three baby Burgermon told the group.

Mama Burgermon nodded. "He's right. We must do something! The three moons will align by nightfall and the Chamelemon will be back for their master's burger."

Zoe made up her mind. "Then it's up to us! We can make a better burger!" she said as she turned to her friends.

"Yeah! Papa Burgermon is the best around, but we're not from around!" Rosalie chimed in.

Though the wavy-haired brunette was the only one as enthusiastic to jump aboard Zoe's plan. Noticing the disbelieving faces of her friends, Zoe called them out on it. "Come on! I think we've scarfed enough burgers in our time to be able to come up with something that at least looks right. And when the Chamelemon take it to the mansion we'll follow them."

"Nice plan." JP was impressed. Like genuinely, not the usual I-am-so-in-love-that-everything-you-say-is-great impressed.

Koji was looking a little uneasy, though. "Except that I've never cooked before…"

"I've had some cooking classes at school, but we never made hamburgers…" Sophia said.

Koichi stepped up to Zoe. "It's a great plan in theory. But making a burger that only looks right won't really help if we need to make one that tastes better than Burgermon's." he told her in the kindest way possible.

Zoe still looked disheartened, though. Something in Takuya couldn't stand to see her like that. "I've never cooked either, but I'm willing to try."

"Me too." Tommy chimed in. "Hey, I always used to watch my mom cook back home." He knelt down to baby Burgermon's eye level. "Don't worry, we'll make the best burger and get your daddy back." he reassured them.

"I think this will be a good experience for us." Zoe smiled.

Rosalie rose an eyebrow. "How will cooking be a good experience exactly?"

"Anything with food will be a good experience for me!" JP beamed.

Tommy nodded in agreement. "Yeah! Especially when it's burgers!"

"I don't even know what's in them." Takuya said, grinning sheepishly. "I guess I'll have to make it up."

"That's the whole idea." Tommy said. "We can each make one and have judges taste them."

Zoe frowned. That wasn't exactly the idea, but now that Tommy said it… "Takuya." she called the boy. "This will be a friendly competition, right?" Now that Tommy put the idea into everyone's head, there was no way she could stop them now. All she could do was warn him to not go into one of his competitive fights with Koji.

"You worry too much, Zoe." Takuya told the blonde, brushing her off.

Sophia shook her head. "I think she doesn't worry enough." she muttered.

"Yeah, no problem." Koji reassured Zoe.

Rosalie observed the duo from the side. "This isn't gonna end well, is it?" she asked Koichi who was standing next to her.

"Knowing my brother… it isn't." Koichi sighed.

With Zoe declaring everyone ready to cook and Bokomon appointing himself judge, they were ready to head inside. Mama Burgermon led them to the kitchen which was, just like she said, stocked full of all kinds of ingredients. There were fruits, vegetables, meat, different kinds of cheese in the fridge, you name it. The fruits and vegetables looked the same as in the human world, but they weren't sure. Mama Burgermon gave the children an apron to wear and the girls had to tie their hair in a ponytail. Luckily Rosalie had some extra scrunchies with her.

JP immediately made his way to the closest counter with food, which was the fruit counter. He took a red and green fruit that looked like an apple and bit into it, to taste test it as he told himself. Surprisingly it did taste like the apples in the human world.

"Hey, save some ingredients for cooking." Zoe scolded him.

The baby Burgermon watched the humans move around the kitchen. They were a little worried. Some of them looked like they'd never been in a kitchen before. One of them walked around with a plate full of only seafood, which they knew wasn't a good combination on a burger. Another human stuffed his plate full with only meat, again not a good combination if that was all you were gonna put on a burger. Those two needed something else to balance out the flavor. The blonde girl seemed to know what she was doing, but the youngest didn't even know what to put in the middle yet.

Sophia looked a little lost around the kitchen too. "I've never even had a burger…." she muttered. She looked towards her sister, who seemed to be just at home in the kitchen. 'She seems to know what she's doing…'

Meanwhile Rosalie just grabbed whatever looked good. 'I have no idea what I'm doing!'

With a sigh, Sophia started gathering her ingredients. Some chicken for the patty, some cheese, tomatoes, onions and lettuce and let's not forget the buns.

She took a place next to Rosalie. "So… Do you know what to do?" she asked.

"Nope… You?" The younger asked. Sophia shook her head. "Well… As long as we don't burn them, we can't go wrong I guess."

Rosalie's plate was similar to Sophia's. Since both never had burgers before their only knowledge of burgers came from cartoons and TV-shows. Though, where Sophia had chicken, Rosalie had beef and left out the onions, opting for cucumber instead.

So the two of them got started. First grinding the beef and chicken and forming them into patties. While doing to, Koichi had to point out that they forgot to add spices to their meat. When the girls stared at him in confusion the elder twin took time away from his own burgers to help them get the right spices for theirs. After that slight embarrassment it was time to cook the patties.

While Sophia's chicken patties cooked, she decided to wash and slice the tomatoes. Rosalie did the same with her tomatoes and cucumber.

While Sophia was grating the cheese, Koichi again had to give the sisters a warning about their burgers. They were burning. Rosalie's were okay after turning them, but Sophia's were charred. With a sigh, she threw them away and placed a few other patties in the pan, throwing her grated cheese in a separate pan.

Now all that was left was to wait, so she decided to look around and see how the others were doing. Zoe seemed to be nearly done with her batch of burgers. JP had half a plate full, so he was close as well. Tommy was still cooking the ground beef. Koji and Takuya were doing…whatever they were doing…. And Koichi had just finished cooking the bacon and was already finishing up his burgers.

'As long as my burgers aren't as bad as Takuya and Koji's I'll be happy…'

Soon it was time for the judging. Everyone brought their burgers out to the dining room and put them on display for Bokomon and Neemon to judge.

JP proudly held up one of his burgers. "Meat loaf! And yakisoba noodles!" he called out the main ingredients of his burger. "Ladies and gentlemen, an exotic combination for a new generation!"

Bokomon took a bite and was happily surprised. "Well JP, I'm surprised. It's actually eatable." And quite tasty too.

Next up was Zoe. "Here. Try my burger Italiano with cheese tomato sauce and lots of fresh chopped mushrooms."

Neemon scarfed down three of them, happily telling her it tasted like chicken, which was odd since she didn't use any chicken…

Next up was Sophia, who fidgeted nervously. "I'm not well known in the kitchen, so I hope these are at least eatable." she admitted sheepishly.

Bokomon nodded approvingly. "They are not bad. Not bad at all."

Meanwhile Neemon already scarfed down one of Rosalie's burgers before she could tell him anything about it. At least he thought it tasted good.

Koichi's burgers were up next. "I used one of my mom's recipes with beef, bacon and her own special sauce." he told the judges. "I hope I did it justice."

"I'm sure you did, young man. It is very tasty." Bokomon told him.

Next up were Koji and Takuya's dreadful looking burgers. Bokomon and Neemon were scared just by looking at them. They'd been there in the kitchen while the children made their burgers and, oh boy if Takuya and Koji didn't leave a wrong impression by how they cooked.

"Are those supposed to be hamburgers?" "I think I saw one of them move!" "Are you going to take a bite?" "If they don't bite first."

Takuya and Koji were happily unaware of their comments, or otherwise chose to ignore them as they introduced their burgers.

"Mine's a meaty meat burger. Steak pork, cutlet and ground beef." Takuya grinned proudly. "I was going for volume."

"My deep sea burger has lobster, scallops and shrimp." Koji told them, equally proud of his creation.

The two rookies grabbed a burger each and reluctantly took a bite. Both immediately regretted it, especially after Takuya told them about the peanut butter and sardine topping and Koji talked about his puréed squid and white chocolate sauce.

It was in one word… "Disgusting!"

Huh? The boys were really confused. There had to be some mistake! They grabbed one of their own burgers, stubbornly wanting to prove the digimon wrong. One bite and their expressions fell.

'At least it can't be worse than Koji's.'

'Mine can't be worse than Takuya's.'

The ever stubborn duo shared one glance and then had the other take a bite of each other's burger. Immediate regret.

Snap!

Sophia lowered her new camera with a happy grin. "I love this thing!" She showed the photo to Rosalie and the sisters shared a laugh over the expressions the boys had.

Last but not least were Tommy's burgers. Unfortunately judging on them had to wait as Bokomon and Neemon had to take a break after tasting the disaster burgers of Takuya and Koji.

Mama Burgermon, who'd come in to check on the children, saw Tommy's downhearted expression and decided to step in. "Would you like some fresh tea?" she asked the boy.

Tommy nodded. "Yeah."

"Why don't we all take a short break?" she suggested, trying to lift Tommy's spirits. "I'll bring your drinks outside for you in a minute." She walked back to the kitchen after seeing the confirming nods of the children. She just hoped one of their burgers was good enough to satisfy the giant digimon.

Well if Bokomon and Neemon weren't going to judge Tommy's burgers, Zoe supposed she and the others could. She went over to Tommy's table when the smell of his burgers hit her. "These smell good, Tommy." she complimented the young chef. Tommy gave her a smile as thanks, which turned to confusion when Zoe picked up the plate. "Let's give them a try."

Zoe walked towards the door with Tommy's plate, quickly followed by Tommy, as well as JP, who also wanted to try the burgers (but mostly because Zoe). Koichi also followed closely behind.

Rosalie and Sophia shot each other a knowing look. This was the moment they'd been talking about during the Great Trailmon Race, in Dutch of course. No need to tip Bokomon off.

"H-hey wait you guys!" Rosalie called out. The four warriors stopped by the door, turning to the younger girl. "Don't you remember what Mama Burgermon said?"

The warrior of wind looked a little confused. "You mean that she would bring our drinks outside?"

"No! About the giant digimon!" Rosalie exclaimed. "She said the Chamelemon would come back tonight, remember? When the three moons align? Look outside!" she pointed out the window.

The children by the door looked outside. It was already dark.

"The three moons will align at nightfall." Koichi suddenly remembered Mama Burgermon saying that. "They could be back any minute."

"That means we'll need a plan!" Zoe said, turning to her friends with a determined expression on her face.

"What do you mean? We already have one, remember?" Sophia said, walking to her blonde friend. "Or did you forget we weren't making these burgers for the fun of it?"

"Huh?"

Sophia shot the Italian a smirk. "It was your plan, remember? Make a better burger and follow the Chamelemon when they take it back to their master."

The younger brunette happily chimed in. "We just need to work out the details and we'll have a genuine plan."

Zoe nodded. "Right." She put the plate of burgers back on another table which everyone gathered around. "Okay, so we need to follow them to the mansion. That should be easy, right? We'll just leave our burgers out on the table, hope they're good enough for the Chamelemon and follow them back."

"That might not be so easy, Zoe." Sophia told her. "Chamelemon are like chameleons, except a hundred times better at camouflaging themselves. If they notice us following they can literally turn invisible."

"Okay, so straight up following isn't going to work." JP concluded from that. "Than what? Put a tracker on them?"

Rosalie rose an eyebrow at that suggestion. "Where are we supposed to get trackers from?"

"Our D-Tectors are sort of like trackers." Koichi mused. "Maybe we can use those somehow?"

Sophia frowned. "Koichi, not to burst your bubble, but I don't think anyone wants to lose their D-Tectors again. Especially to someone we know is an enemy."

"But he does have a point." Tommy said. "We can track each other's D-Tectors."

Rosalie held a hand to her chin in thought. "Maybe… Maybe fake being held hostage?" Sophia quickly bumped her elbow against her arm. That was the situation they were trying to avoid!

But it was too late. The others heard her suggestion and were contemplating it.

"You know… It's not a bad idea." Zoe drawled. "Half of us could fake being held hostage and then the other half can track those D-Tectors back to the mansion."

And so it was decided. Zoe, JP and Tommy would go as hostage. Three of them because, they reasoned, they had no idea who or what they were up against. It was decidedly better to have three of them go to the mansion for extra defense purposes. MetalKabuterimon and Korikakumon were definitely among the more tanky warriors of the group, where Kazemon and Zephyrmon were definitely the most agile. They'd have good coverage to fight unknown enemies.

Sophia, Rosalie and Koichi were gonna stay behind and track them down later. Or well, Sophia and Koichi were, Rosalie was gonna stay behind since she didn't have her Spirits. It was decided on them because Lowemon and JagerLowemon were better camouflaged in the dark and the Beast Spirit in particular was the best tracker after KendoGarurumon (when it comes to smell). And Vibramon could practically see with her ears. They would be the best to track the trio down if the D-Tector option failed. And if all else failed they could go back and get Rosalie, who they learned could sense her surroundings by touching plants.

Now that they had a decent plan, it was time to put it n action. JP, Tommy and Zoe grabbed a few samples of all their burgers, except Koji and Takuya's which were promptly thrown in the closest trashcan and their trays were used for the good burgers. The trio brought them outside and put them on the table. Now it was time to wait.

They didn't have to wait long, though. Just a few minutes passed when a sandstorm whipped up and the clouds disappeared, showing the three moons aligned.

"The Chamelemon are coming!" the baby Burgermon warned them, seeing the familiar shapes appear at the village's border.

"Time's up kiddies. The master's very hungry!" The Chamelemon in charge stepped up to the human children, who were ushering the baby Burgermon inside. "I hope for your sake you've build a better burger."

Zoe stepped away from the door, taking charge and motioning to the trays of burgers. "These are the best burgers we've build today." she told them with confidence. 'I hope…' Okay…faking confidence. "Go ahead and try them."

The lead Chamelemon helped himself to the burgers, taking each pile separately. Most of them were just mediocre, few were even plain, though there was one pile of burgers that was… "Delicious." And these children at least proved they could cook. "Impressive… The master will be pleased." They would be a great help to that useless Burgermon.

Zoe hadn't missed the disgusted faces they pulled when they tasted everyone's burgers, or how they only complimented Tommy's. So Tommy made the best burger, huh? "Well, we've built you a better burger. The deal was that you'd let the Burgermon go."

Then three of the Chamelemon lashed out with their tails, wrapping them around the warrior trio. Rosalie, who'd been watching the exchange from the window since the baby Burgermon were brought inside, gasped and quickly duck away for cover. She motioned for the other two to stay low behind the counter.

As quietly as she could, Rosalie snuck towards the door. Since they were saloon doors, she didn't have to open them to spy on the Chamelemon, thus not giving away her position.

When she stuck her head out the doors and saw the Chamelemon as mere shadows leaving town, she sounded the alarm. "Guys! Spirit evolve, or they'll get away!"

"Got it!" Koichi and Sophia sprinted outside, ready to Spirit evolve.

"EXECUTE! BEAST SPIRIT EVOLUTION! …JAGERLOWEMON!"

"EXECUTE! SPIRIT EVOLUTION! …SONAMON!"

JagerLowemon ran ahead to keep the Chamelemon in his sight, while Sonamon hung back. "You keep an eye on the baby Burgermon. We can't have them follow us and become bait." she told her. "We'll call you if we need back-up. Take care of Mama Burgermon."

With that said and done, she flew after JagerLowemon with her D-Tector pulled out to follow her friends' D-Tector signal. Turns out the D-Tector was unnecessary. The Chamelemon moved pretty slowly, so Sonamon and JagerLowemon fell back and followed from the shadows. It didn't take long before they reached the gate to the mansion. Now that they've found the mansion, JagerLowemon and Sonamon fell back and let the Chamelemon take their friends inside. If they attacked now, they would lose the chance of finding Papa Burgermon. Zoe, JP and Tommy could do the inside job themselves.

Once the Chamelemon were out of view JagerLowemon turned to Sonamon to speak, but was quickly shushed. Taking the hint, the duo moved away from the entrance.

When they were far enough away he tried again. "I'm sure Zoe, JP and Tommy can take care of the Chamelemon inside the mansion. How about we take care of the ones outside now?"

In response, Sonamon checked her D-Tector. Tommy, Zoe and JP's D-Tectors were all in one place, not moving. "They're not moving, so I'm guessing they got locked up or something. I'm guessing that means they found Papa Burgermon." she nodded. "Let's g-"

"Sophia! Koichi! We have a problem!" Zoe's voice came from the D-Tector. Inside the mansion's prison, Zoe kept an eye on the retreading Chamelemon, every now and then shifting her focus to Tommy and JP who were preparing Tommy's burger. "The Chamelemon say they've captured the baby Burgermon. We haven't seen them, but we can't take the risk. We'll need to make that burger."

Sonamon nodded. "You do that Zoe. Koichi and I are gonna see if the baby Burgermon really are here and get them to safety if they are. We'll call you later." With a press of a button she'd hung up. "SONAMON! SLIDE EVOLUTION! …VIBRAMON!" She was going to need Vibramon's hearing if they were going to enter that gate. "No time to call Rose. If they really do have the baby Burgermon every second counts. Let's go, Koichi."

The two of them ran towards the gate, fully prepared for a surprise attack from some invisible Chamelemon. Once they entered the short tunnel of a gate, JagerLowemon stopped.

Vibramon noticed and stopped too. "What is it?"

JagerLowemon didn't immediately answer. He looked around at his surroundings. "I sense them…" he told her. There were dark shadows at certain spots. It seems Spirit evolving enhanced his odd sensing ability.

He lunged at the closest misty shadow, knocking a camouflaged Chamelemon to the ground who, upon hitting the ground, lost his camouflage. The other Chamelemon took that as their cue to attack, lashing out with their tongues and tails.

JagerLowemon and Vibramon jumped aside to dodge them, JagerLowemon slide evolving to Lowemon for better defense with his shield and lance. Since they were caught now anyways, there was no more need for JagerLowemon's darker and less yellow armor to camouflage him.

Before the warrior duo could launch an attack at the Chamelemon, they disappeared again, only to appear somewhere else entirely. Whenever Lowemon threw his shadow lance at a spot where he saw a misty shadow, it fizzled out before it hit. And every time Vibramon was about to claw one that she heard breathing, it disappeared as well.

Lowemon growled lowly. "We can't fight them if they keep turning invisible!"

"Or prevent them from moving." Vibramon smirked. "I have an idea, but you're gonna have to step back a little." Lowemon did as she told, wondering just what this girl was about to do. She'd never actually fought in her Beast form before.

Vibramon suddenly began beating her wings at such fast speed that they nearly became nothing but blurs. "SONIC SCREECH!" And one hell of a sharp pitched noise burst from them.

Lowemon watched the shadowy forms of the Chamelemon. None of them seemed to be moving. In fact, some of them were flickering between invisible and visible. The short moments they were visible, he could see them covering their ears in pain.

"Lowe…" Vibramon groaned out. "Y-you go -hhnngg! Attack them!" She panted heavily. "Gotta -nngg! k-keep this attack up!"

"Won't it effect me as well?" Lowemon asked his female companion.

Vibramon shook her head. "I control the soundwaves of my attacks. -Hhngg!" She strained to keep the attack up. "You won't get effected! Hurry!"

With a nod, Lowemon took his lance and jumped into Vibramon's attack. She was right, it didn't hurt him as it did the Chamelemon. But there was no time to dawdle on that now. With his shadow lance he knocked each Chamelemon off the walls and ceiling, throwing them into a pile on the ground. It was only five of them.

Seeing Lowemon giving her the okay sign, Vibramon seized her sonic screech attack and flew over next to Lowemon in front of the exit to the mansion. "Last one together?"

"I don't see why not." Lowemon gave a small grin under his mask. "SHADOW METEOR!"

Vibramon took her tail and screeched into the built in microphone. "VOICE OF THE BEAST!"

Both attacks mixed as soundwaves surrounding the shadow meteor. The still immobilized Chamelemon were hit dead on and defeated, their Fractal Code ready for scanning.

"You take care of them." Vibramon told Lowemon, flying ahead towards the mansion. "I'm going to see if the baby Burgermon really are here!"

Vibramon quickly flew out of the tunnel and into the courtyard of the mansion. What she found surprised her. Kazemon, Beetlemon and Kumamon were already fighting the Chamelemon. There were no baby Burgermon in sight. That seemed to cause a bit of an issue. Now that there were no Burgermon to be their eyes in the sky, the warriors were having a tougher time battling the ever-disappearing Chamelemon.

"SHADOW LANCE!" Lowemon's lance flew over her head into, what she assumed was an oncoming Chamelemon right in front of her. "You might wanna pay more attention, Sophia."

Vibramon smiled sheepishly. "My bad." She had to quickly dodge the strike of Chamelemon's tongue. If they didn't know backup was there already, they did now.

"Koichi! Sophia!" Kazemon was relieved to see the two of them here. They could really use the extra help.

Vibramon flew up next to her. "Hey, how are you guys holding up?"

Kazemon shook her head. "Not great. They keep vanishing every time we get a lock on them." she frowned. "The only luck we've had was that the baby Burgermon are still home safe. They bluffed."

"Figured…" Vibramon muttered. Their little conversation was cut short when another tongue lashed out between them. "I might know how to get them to stay still, but it'll take a lot out of me and leave me open for anyone's attack." she told the fairy digimon.

"Try it, it's our best option right now." Kazemon flew down to try and hit some visible Chamelemon with her hurricane wave. It failed…

Vibramon landed on the ground next to Lowemon. "I'm gonna try what we did in the tunnel. Chamelemon check?"

Scanning his surroundings, Lowemon concluded where the Chamelemon were located, pointing them out for the warrior od sound. Vibramon gulped. To get every Chamelemon, she'd have to do a sweep of the entire left side of the courtyard.

"…Alright… Here goes nothing." Vibramon began flapping her wings again, making her wings appear like mere blurs again. "SONIC SCREECH!"

The effect was immediate. The visible Chamelemon were seen covering their ears in pain, same was assumed for the invisible ones. Lowemon ran around the yard, pointing out Chamelemon to his friends, which Beetlemon and Kazemon more than happily launched their lightning blitz and hurricane wave at. Lowemon took down one of them with his shadow lance, throwing him onto the pile the others had created.

Now that they were all gathered in one place, it was Kumamon's turn. "CRYSTAL FREEZE!" Blowing his icy cold wind at the Chamelemon pile, he covered them in a nice layer of ice, immobilizing them.

They had won!

"We did it!" Kazemon cheered.

"Now the Burgermon don't have to worry about those Chamelemon anymore!" Tommy chimed in happily. Then he saw the Fractal Code appear from his ice pile. He grabbed his D-Tector. "Like you kept telling us; Time's up!" he pressed the button on the side. "Now to send you bullied back where you belong! FRACTAL CODE DIGITIZE!"

The Chamelemon turned back into Armadillomon instead of digi-eggs, but they seemed incredibly confused about their surroundings. Lowemon could see they had no darkness inside them anymore. Seeing the five warriors in front of them scared the small Armadillomon, though, who quickly scampered off to wherever they came from.

"What about the big digimon?" Kazemon wondered out loud.

Papa Burgermon, who'd been watching silently from his broken prison, gasped as he remembered. "Oh my, I almost forgot. I still need to feed him!" he ran back inside to his cell-kitchen. "I need to finish that hamburger!"

As Burgermon was preparing his burger, the warriors could hear loud footsteps and a booming voice from the other side of the mansion. They couldn't hear what was being said exactly, but they did know this was most likely the big digimon the Burgermon were all talking about.

"Better hurry." Beetlemon told Burgermon. "I think the big guy's awake."

Burgermon didn't look away from what he was cooking. "I'm almost finished."

Too late if the footsteps were any indication! "Where's my burger?! I'm wasting away here!" That was an awfully familiar voice! Only then the digimon seemed to notice the warriors. "Hey, haven't I seen you guys somewhere before?"

Sure enough, when they turned around to face the giant digimon, it was exactly who it sounded like.

"The giant digimon…" "-was Petaldramon?"

Yeah, and he was not happy to see the five other warriors. "What are you doing here?!"

"Let's show him!" Fractal code surrounded the four human warriors. "SLIDE EVOLUTION!"

"ZEPHYRMON!"

"METALKABUTERIMON!"

"KORIKAKUMON!"

"JAGERLOWEMON!"

To say Petaldramon was not happy would be an understatement. He was hungry! These pesky kids were not gonna get in between him and his burgers! He lashed out with his tail and tongue, just like the Chamelemon earlier. The warriors dodged each attack he threw at them, which broke a few trees here and there, but rather the trees than their backs.

"Let's clean up the yard!" Zephyrmon flew up, gathering as much wind as she could. "HURRICANE GALE!"

While it was a direct hit, it didn't seem to hurt Petaldramon too much. He was more annoyed than anything, charging at Zephyrmon immediately after fire seized. Luckily the girl was agile and knew how to dodge.

Now it was Petaldramon's turn. "LEAF CYCLONE!"

MetalKabuterimon got hit, but luckily with his armor it was barely a scratch. Korikakumon got some stray leafs stuck in his fur, which annoyed him greatly. Who knew what those leafs alone could do?

After shaking himself clean, Korikakumon attacked. "FROZEN ARROWHEADS!" He wrapped his braids around Petaldramon's neck, pulling him down. Or well... he tried, but the Beast of wood was too strong. Even when MetalKabuterimon came to his aid, he couldn't keep the bigger beast in place.

JagerLowemon took this as his best chance to attack. "EBONY BLAST!" He shot several blasts at Petaldramon, hitting him in the chest and face.

Vibramon slammed her tail against the ground, causing her microphone to pick up its sound frequency. "VOICE OF THE BEAST!" The soundwaves emerged from her mouth, hard enough to give that last push that made Petaldramon lose his balance.

Feeling him falling backwards, Korikakumon released Petaldramon's neck and let him fall. After a beat of silence, Petaldramon growled and got up again, standing on his hind legs. "I didn't think so!" he growled down at the smaller Beast warriors.

"Wait, Petaldramon! I have your burger!" Luckily they were saved just in time by Papa Burgermon, who threw Petaldramon one of his freshly made burgers. The giant warrior happily munched down on it. Burgermon threw another one. "A dash of ketchup on top and you've go the ultimate burger!"

The second one tasted just as great! "You've done it! I want more!" Petaldramon stared down at the Burgermon intensely. "I want all of them!"

"They are in the kitchen."

That was all Burgermon had to say to get Petaldramon moving. Completely ignoring his opponents, Petaldramon waltzed over to the kitchen where he saw a big plate of burgers. Just for him. All of them for him! Burgers!

The warriors took this as their cue to leave. Zephyrmon grabbed Papa Burgermon and sped off to the gate, JagerLowemon and Vibramon close behind her.

As soon as Korikakumon made it passed the gate and through the tunnel, MetalKabuterimon turned back to the mansion. "BOLO THUNDER!" He shot his attack at the tower right above the kitchen, causing it to collapse with on top of a sleeping Petaldramon.

It wasn't long before they were all back at D-Burger, where a relieved Mama Burgermon awaited them on the patio. She didn't waste a second before she hugged her husband tight, before fainting from the relief she felt.

"Oh dear." Papa Burgermon seated his wife on the closest chair. Not a moment later, he was tackled to the ground by six very relieved children. "Oh, my babies!" He was so happy he could cry.

The warriors watched the exchange from the sidelines. It felt good to see a family getting back together. It made them wonder about their own parents' reaction once they got home…

"I don't know how to thank you for all you've done for me and my family." Papa Burgermon addressed the children after his children let his get back up. "As much as I love a good burger, I never thought my life would be saved by one. In honor of you, I'm naming our new creation 'The Little Tommy'."

Wow, Tommy was getting a burger named after him. Did that mean Burgermon was going to sell them? Nice going, Tommy! As adorable as it was watching Tommy be all bashful about his burger, it felt like something was missing…

Zoe gasped. "Hey, where are the guys?"

Right on cue, Rosalie burst out the saloon doors. "We might have a problem…" she panted.

As Zoe, Sophia and the boys entered Burgermon's kitchen, they were met by two terrified rookie digimon running away in fear. The cause of this? Two glaring boys with big glares who did not understand the term 'friendly competition'.

"Takuya! Koji! What did I say about friendly competition?!" Zoe yelled at them. "You two went too far in this!"

Sophia got a good look at their burgers. "Geez, how many ingredients did you waste? You know Burgermon will have to replace all of that now, right?"

"Well I'm not quitting until Koji admits my burger is better!" Takuya growled.

Koji shot him a menacing glare. "Why would I tell you such a lie?"

"Time to be blunt…" Sophia sighed, stepping up to the hotheaded duo. "Guys… You are both dreadful cooks. Get the hell out of the kitchen."

With Zoe's help, Sophia got the struggling boys out of the kitchen, if only by pulling their ears. The children decided Takuya and Koji were from now on banned from the kitchen.

They spend the remainder of the night in Burgermon's two guest bedrooms. Somehow they managed to keep Takuya and Koji from the kitchen in the morning, mostly thanks to Koichi being an early riser and surprisingly grumpy in the morning. When the other kids got downstairs that morning and found Koichi dragging Takuya out of the kitchen by the ear, he could almost be confused for Koji.

It was a shocker, but it wore off by the time they had breakfast. Now all they had to worry about was an overly-worried Mama Burgermon.

"-and I packed you some hamburgers for when you get hungry. I kept the ones you made warm yesterday, so they should still be good." she gave each of them a small bag with an assortment of different hamburgers. She even packed a bottle of tea in there. "Oh, do be careful, alright?"

Rosalie gave her a reassuring smile. "We'll be okay Mama Burgermon. These guys can more than protect themselves, and I'll stay out of trouble until I have my Spirits back."

Mama Burgermon sighed. "I know you will, dear. But I just can't help but worry."

Sophia giggled. "Well, you're a mom. You're supposed to worry about children."

"Thank you for letting us stay the night." Zoe smiled politely. "And for the yummy burgers. I promise we'll be as careful as we can be."

While it didn't seen too reassuring, Mama Burgermon let it go. She learned last night that she'd had the Legendary Warriors under her roof. Of course they couldn't stay out of danger. That would be too much to ask for.

"Good luck with whatever you need to do, then." she finally settled on saying as she and her husband watched the children leave towards the Trailmon station.

"Alright then." Takuya said. "Let's see which Trailmon can take us to the Rose Morning Star!"

I CAN'T COOK! Do you have any idea how much of Rosalie and Sophia burger cooking bits I had to look up?! A lot! T^T

I hope to never write a cooking bit again xD

Also, I know the baby Burgermon are actually called TorikaraBallmon, but throughout the anime that name isn't mentioned once, so I'm sticking with calling them baby Burgermon!
