Hello, again!
I know this is on the short side, but there are reasons for it. Morgana is angry about Bakura, so she's not in the mood for something drawn out, while Lily somewhat diverted attention to a seemingly random conversation before the key moments. Unless it more a spar between friends, people generally 'dislike' their opponents not seemingly paying attention to the fight.
Don't own Harry Potter or anything from DC Comics/Studios. Or anywhere else for that matter.
For Whom the Bell Tolls
XXBatmanXX
Batman, despite his transport, was quite capable in dodging his current pursuers, even if their rides were huge and they were shooting lasers at him.
Eventually, though, one did manage to hit his pack, mildly damaging it. "Great."
He noticed a series of uniquely designed arches in a row, and flew under them with a boost of speed. When he got close enough, he took out a Batarang and threw it to the side. "Okay, boys, chew on this."
The Apokoliptian soldiers were under the last arch when the Batarang explode, burying them in rubble.
Batman's pack finally gave out, breaking and sending him tumbling a bit, but nothing he couldn't shrug off.
Picking up his tracker, he turned until it pointed dead ahead at one building.
Upon arriving, he broke down the door, and found a room full of egg-like objects. "Bingo. Hellspores. Like she said."
He checked a quick scan. "Enough power here to blow a hole straight to the planet's core. Yet Desaad used three Mother Boxes to threaten ours. Must've been desparate."
His attention was caught by a wall breaking behind him, letting in another of the beasts that promptly closed its mouth around him.
XXSuperman and MorganaXX
"DARKSEID!"
Morgana's magic flared, swirling up a storm that didn't effect Superman, but practically everything else in the room. "You will regret what you have done."
"Kara's coming with us." Superman added, somehow being heard despite the wind.
Darkseid stood up. "She's free to leave, if that is what she d-"
He was cut off by his throne suddenly being knocked into him. The unexpected hit sent him tumbling down the stairs between them as Kara, who turned out to be right behind the throne, was pulled helplessly towards Morgana.
"Got taste in some outfits, I'll give you that." Morgana noted as she took in Kara's new look, "Think you can knock some sense into her, or should I just knock her out?"
Superman simply pinched the blonde's neck, knocking her out himself.
Darkseid glared at them as he recovered, only to find twin bolts of lightning blasting him directly in the eyes.
"How does it feel, Darkseid? To finally be the victim? To suffer as countless others suffered because of you, yet received no mercy?" Morgana said as she continued the attack, increasing the power with her anger, "You may have ways to counter and cheat death, but know this. Your godly status won't always be able to save you. And in case you get the idea of trying to get revenge for this, there are worse things than death. Some of which you'll find out the hard way."
Superman had to shudder at the sudden images now in his head, only to find Kara waking up earlier than he expected and attempt to fight. "That's enough, Kara. I thought you wanted to live your life, or was it just a lie? Are you really okay will obeying someone like a naive dog?"
"I can make that decision quite easy." Batman's voice declared, getting Morgana to momentarily stop.
XXWonder Woman, Barda, and LilyXX
Lily was now glad for actual hand-to-hand combat, as a wand would've done more to kill her against her current foes, even with a female copy of Doomsday's body.
Specialists of different styles, yet a smooth team.
"Moody would've loved you, Barda, if this is the kind of ability that can be expected under you." Lily remarked out loud as she grappled the wrestler of the four away, "Paranoid as hell, but loves effective results like this."
"I think I've heard of him." Barda replied as she countered the sword-wielder, "Doesn't he have a thing for shouting 'Constant vigilance' when you least expect it or something?"
"That, and a habit of training with 'pop quizes' instead of controlled environments and lectures." Lily admitted, punctuated with a red-glowing punch that sent the claw user flying and out cold, "That's what James told me when he trained under Alaster 'Mad-Eye' Moody."
Wonder Woman then added a comment of her own as she deflected the wrestler. "Artemis at least would probably consider talking shop with him if that's true."
The wrestler growled. "Stop talking like we-grk!"
She was cut off by Barda's spear stabbing clean through her and killing her.
However, anything further was stopped by the lady that was originally watching the fight walking towards them with a pair of chains. "Surrender, Amazon."
Why her, specifically? Lily thought until two people at the ends of said chains came into view. "Shit!"
"I recall Vanessa from the Missing report, but who's the..." Barda trailed off when she noticed Wonder Woman's expression darken, "Diana?"
"Barda," Lily explained, "the other is Steve Trevor. Her first friend outside of Themyscira-!"
Diana's bracelet's fell from her arms.
Yep. Vanessa, aka Silver Swan, of Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, and Steve Trevor. Both stuck on Apokolips since their respective disappearances. Wonder how Diana's gonna react (hint: Death Battle meets Aang when he loses Appa in the desert)?
As for the spot of Batman in Superman and Morgana's part, that's well after the actual Batman part, so of his solo action will still be in the next chapter.
And again, Morgana's treatment of Darkseid is simply because of Bakura. She wanted him to have a taste of what he so willingly heaped upon others as the Embodiment of Tyranny.
Until next time. Please let me know what you think.
