It is T.A. 1200 and Raven and Legolas have been courting for a year when they decide that it is time for them to get married. When they tell this to Thranduil he goes to his study to write a letter to her father informing him of the wedding. Eight days later Lord Elrond arrives at the gates, and is admitted into the halls of the Elven King. A maid shows him to a room to freshen up, and after he is done Lord Elrond goes to see Thranduil about their children's marriage. When he arrives into his friends study he says.
"Why wasn't I informed that my daughter has found her soul-mate before now?" Elrond
"They had determined the terms of their courtship before I learned of their desire to court." Thranduil
"What were the terms? You did not mention them in your letter." Elrond
"They began their courtship in the manner of InuYokai and finish it according to elvish traditions." Thranduil
"What exactly does that look like?" Elrond
"I asked Raven the same thing when she told me, and she said "The couple pick out one meaningful and thoughtful gift for one another." After that she borrowed an item, and she left to commission the present for Legolas." Thranduil
"Where did she go to commission the gift?" Elrond
"She went to Earth to commission the sword smith that has served her birth family for centuries to make her present for Legolas." Thranduil
Elrond nods, and says.
"I am glad that our children are able to find happiness in each other." Elrond
"I am too my friend. Let us go and see if there is anymore last minute wedding preparations that we can help with." Thranduil
Elrond nods, and follows his friend out the with a smile on his face.
Raven and Legolas watch as the entire palace prepares for their wedding feast. To say that Thranduil is going all out would be a significant understatement. Raven and Legolas go to their favorite garden to wait for the feast to begin so that they will not be underfoot. After awhile a servant comes up to them, and says.
"A strange spirit is at the gate demanding entrance, and the guards do not know what to do." servant
"What does this spirit look like?" Raven
"He looks like an elf with golden eyes, but he has claws and a fur pelt on his shoulder." servant
"He is a wedding guest. Let him in immediately." Raven
"Yes Lady Raven." servant
The servant leaves to do as he was told. A little while later the servant comes back with the guest in tow. Raven smiles, goes up to him, and says.
"Sesshomaru-papa there is someone I would like you to meet." Raven
Raven pulls Sesshomaru over to Legolas, and says.
"Sesshomaru-papa this Legolas my betrothed." Raven
Sesshomaru looks Legolas over, and is not unimpressed.
A few minutes later Thranduil comes into the garden, sees his son and his friend talking with a stranger, and says.
"I had heard that there is a last minute guest here for the wedding feast." Thranduil
Raven smiles, and says.
"Thranduil I would like you to meet Sesshomaru." Raven
"Sesshomaru-papa I would like you to Thranduil my oldest friend in Middle-Earth." Raven
The two of them look at each other, and Thranduil says.
"So you are the spirit of my dear friends birth father." Thranduil
"I am." Sesshomaru
"I see that you have met Raven's betrothed. Tell me what do you think of my son?" Thranduil
Sesshomaru's eyebrow raises into his hairline, and he says.
"I am not unimpressed." Sesshomaru
Thranduil raises an eyebrow demanding an answer. Sesshomaru sees this, and says.
"While he is not as well built as an InuYokai his baring shows him to be a warrior. Therefore I will have to reserve further judgment until later." Sesshomaru
Thranduil and Legolas are offended to varying degrees, Sesshomaru leaves the room, and Raven says.
"Well that went better than I expected." Raven
"Explain." Thranduil
"Well Legolas is still alive isn't he." Raven
"Are you saying that he..." Legolas
"Yes he has killed unworthy suitors." Raven
Legolas clears his throat, and his father says.
"Was it always that way?" Thranduil
"No it started when the council tried to force him to agree to a breeding contract for me." Raven
"Why would they do that?" Thranduil
"To produce a male heir." Raven
"Why you were the heir?" Thranduil
"The council was very displeased by the fact that the heir is female; So they tried to take matters into their own hands." Raven
"And killing the suitors that they provided was how Sesshomaru chose to punish them." Thranduil
"Them, and the families who chose to participate in the scheme." Raven
Thranduil and Legolas sit on the bench, and think over everything they just learned about Raven's past.
Sesshomaru finds himself walking through one of the gardens in the Woodland Realm. He has spent much time in conversation with his daughters soul-mate. It saddens him to realize that she is not his daughter any longer; Not Kagome who he has cared for since she was a pup. Kagome has told him time and again that she is still the same person, but different at the same time. It is the noticeable difference that gets to him every time he notices it. It is becoming increasingly obvious that he no longer has a place in her life anymore. He is a vestige of her past that she is clinging to. For the first time in his life he has no idea what he should do next. It occurs to him that Lord Elrond would be able to give him some sound advise. Sesshomaru resolves to talk to him about it after the wedding feast is over.
The wedding feast is now in full swing, and everyone is having a great time. Raven and Legolas are happy to be celebrating their union with friends and family. They have already received their gold rings from Thranduil signifying that they are married by the custom of the Elves. The only thing that they have left to do is consummate their union so their marriage will be recognized by Iluvatar. When the feast is close to winding down Raven and Legolas leave to finish getting married. The next morning Kagome moves the things she brought with her into Legolas' room. The two of them decide to go on a trip to celebrate their union. They decide that they will go to Lothlorien for their vacation. Raven is puzzled as to why Sesshomaru-papa is no where to be seen, and has not been since the wedding feast ended. Raven is saddened by his disappearance, but she knows that life goes on even without him here. It made Raven really happy to have Sesshomaru-papa there to celebrate finding her soul mate. Life will go back to the way it he made his presence known. Raven knows that she will be fine, and her happiness will continue with the family that has come to mean as much to her as her original one. Having Sesshomaru-papa here has allowed her to get the closure that she was never able to get before; Her life will be happier and more full now that she has been able to put the past behind her. It is Ravens hope that she will be able to look upon those precious memories with fondness instead of pain. Raven knows that it is natural to miss loved ones that you have lost, but now she can remember the ones she has lost with the joy that was hers when they were alive. Raven wishes that she could thank Sesshomaru-papa for the wonderful wedding gift that he has given her, but since she can not find him she will show her appreciation living her life with the fullest joy that she can possibly have.
