Prompt: After a conversation about why they went into the police academy, Eddie admits her real reason for being a cop. It was partly because of her father, but he was not the sole reason. The main reason was her sister.
Eddie already knew that Jamie became a cop because of his brother Joe, but she had only told him part of the reason why she became a cop. While it was true that she became a cop to proof that she wasn't like her father, there was more to it.
"I have a sister." Eddie admitted to Jamie as they were sitting in the patrol car.
"Oh." Jamie uttered, turning his head to look at his partner.
Eddie gave a nod, "She's in foster care. I haven't seen her in six years."
"I'm sorry, Eddie."
"I was eighteen. She was seven. She was an oopsie baby. My mom left on my eighteenth birthday, two years after my dad was arrested. She said that she only stayed for me."" Eddie explained
Jamie sighed, "I'm so sorry."
"My sister's name is Judit...Jodie." Eddie said, "She's the reason I became a cop. I'm going to get her back."
Eddie's mind flashed back to the day her sister was taken away from her.
"Eddie! Eddie!" Seven year old Judit Janko cried and screamed as a police officer carried her away and then placed her in the backseat of a social worker's car.
Jodie looked out the window at the doorway of the house where her big sister Eddie stood. She saw Eddie talking, but she didn't know what she was saying. She didn't care though. All Jodie could think about was the promise that her big sister had made just three months ago when their mother left them and went back to Serbia.
Eddie's promise was that they always be together. She promised Jodie that she'd never leave her.
'But we're not together anymore.' Jodie thought, 'I'm leaving.'
Jodie didn't understand why she was being taken away. She didn't want to leave. She just wanted her big sister. They were supposed to be together.

"I was at social services immediately after they took Jodie from me. I begged them to give her back to me, but it didn't make a difference. They told me they took her away because I was too young for the responsibility." Eddie informed, "I still haven't been able to get her back."
Jamie took his partner's hand, "I'll help you get your sister back."
Eddie gave a small smile, "Thank you."
Hope you enjoy. Comments are greatly appreciated. In fact, they keep me going.
