Epilogue
Don't give up
You Still Have Us
A pink pony sat on a familiar hill, the one where she and her husband sat long ago. 5 years have passed since they both said their goodbyes. But she still came to this hill, that one day, every year, holding out hope for him. Today, she felt something special in the air. Maybe, it was finally the time she was hoping for. She sat, quiet and calm. The time was twilight. It looked like she haven't aged a day. Her friends, however, have changed quite a bit. One of them even grew a little bigger than she was. She was now 26. The breeze moved through her pink mane, Now in a big poofy ponytail. the hair gracefully dancing along the wind. On her hoof, she had the ring he had left her. As a testament to their love. She had held on and kept that ring. and she knew, she would hold it, until the day she died. Until the day he came back.
Life was lonelier now. Her friends had gone on to bigger things. She had the bakery of course, and a high profession job for all of Equestria. But, one thing that kept her from reaching full happiness was him. Her Shadow. Her husband. He had taken a piece of her as she had taken a piece of him. Now, she ached for him. She inhaled slowly, and exhaled. She smiled a small smile. "I will wait for you."
Meanwhile...
"Just a few more minutes!" Sonic, silver, and shadow raced through the city. People waved, and Sonic waved back. Sliver was behind both of them, trying to keep up. Shadow was behind Sonic, his mind deep in thought. It's been 5 years since he said goodbye. he was missing her. Every day and night he thought about her. Her blue eyes, her pink coat and mane, her sweet as candy personality... He was always missing her. He had never forgot the gift she had made him a long time ago. As of now, he wore that necklace around his neck, allowing it to move freely with the wind. Sonic had just got a call from tails that his machine was ready to be tested out. The trio ran, jumped, skated, and flew to their destination.
They soon stopped at Tails' workshop. "Tails!" Sonic greeted him in front of the shop.
"hey sonic!" The two high fived, and Tails directed them to his machine. It was a circular frame of metal, with the control panel on the right side.
"after 2 & a half years of trial and error, I present to you, my Dimension Hop machine!" Tails proudly presented it. "Pendent pending." Shadow stood in the middle of Silver and Sonic.
"you've really outdone yourself this time tails." Silver complemented.
"it was nothing." tails replied, a little embarrassed.
"so," sonic glanced at all of them. "I have a feeling who's going to test it first." He stared at shadow with a smirk on his face. Shadow blushed slightly.
"humph." He looked at the machine. He closed his eyes and breathed. A small smile crept onto his face as he opened his eyes. "let's do this."
…...
She herd it. The warping sound. She looked behind her, but no portal showed. She looked in front of her once again, and saw a spark of blue. "Could it be?..." Her eyes widened. The small spark turned into a oval of blue. She stood up abruptly. Then she saw it. She saw those hover shoes, those white gloves, the red streak in the black. Then, she saw the ring. The other hand had no ring, but she knew where it was. As the figure fully emerged, she gasped lightly. Shadow stood there, as the portal closed. Hedgehog and pony were now facing each other. the two rings, one on hoof, one on arm, shimmed from the start of the sunrise. Their smiles said it all. Pinkie Pie ran up and tackled him in a big hug. They both fell to the floor, crying happy tears. Shadow embraced her tightly.
"I told you." He whispered. He and pinkie kissed passionately, the most love they felt in a long time. After a couple of minutes, they stopped to breathe. They both were blushing a deep red, eyes lidded, holding one another.
"Welcome back." The two laid with each other, watching the rest of the sunrise. It's colors, seemingly pink, red, blue, and black.
Well, this is it. I've finished the best story I've written so far.(in my opinion.) I hope you all enjoyed it. And for those who have been there since the beginning, I thank you for wading through the fist couple chapters. But! Even though I have finished, I will be going back to the first chapters and redoing them, to make it look more presentable. But after that, my time here will be done. I mean I probably will still write ShadPie, but with different things. And no, I will not make a series about their family. (Though yes, in this universe they do decide to have a family.) Probably only a short story. I want to thank everyone once again for reading. without all of you, I would have given this up a long time ago. And I might have not wanted to become a writer. But now I am certain of it. So, thank you so much. (If you know the song reference in this chapter's name, and the start of it, you're awesome). Write you later!
