Chapter 1 - A New Beginning
Up high in the sky, rays of sunlight stretched across the valley. On a hill resting above the valley lay a pink haired teenage boy with a blue cat sitting close by. He had a scaly looking scarf wrapped tightly around his neck as his right hand was slightly raised holding a flickering orange flame.
"Hey Happy." He spoke turning towards his companion.
"Aye?" The blue cat replied.
"You ready to head back to the guild?" He asked storing some supplies back into his backpack.
"Sure Natsu!" Happy responded with a wide smile as he started munching on a fish.
"Alrighty then buddy let's go!" The man, now identified as Natsu, smiled down at his partner with a large grin forming across his face as the two departed down the valley.
"Aye sir!" Happy cheered flying next to his friend.
Time Skip:
Two hours after a long walk back home, the dragon slayer and his cat companion arrived back at their home which is a magical guild known as FairyTail. As they reach the gates the two wizards recap their previous adventures. Finished reminiscing, Natsu pushed the guild's doors open as they enter a very lively atmosphere.
"Hey guys!" Natsu yelled to the guild grabbing their attention.
"Yo, what's up Natsu?" Most of them replied happy to see the heart of the guild back.
"Hey Flamebrain!" A voice called out to the dragon slayer.
"Huh? Oh... it's just you Gray." Natsu mutterd disappointedly.
"The hell you mean, 'just me?'" The boy responded back a little peeved.
"I was just saying, it gets boring to see your stupid face all the time." Natsu snickered at his joke.
"Shut up." Gray fired back at the pinkette his anger growing rather quickly with his rival.
"Make me." Natsu replied knowing its about to go down and tables are about to fly.
"You wanna go?!" Gray argued as he begins to drop the temperature around them to freezing.
"I'll gladly fight you stripper." Natsu responded with a grin flaring his own magic aura as it was a mix of freezing and boiling temperatures in the guild hall.
FIRE DRAGON's- Natsu began one of his magical spells.
ICE MAKE- Gray started to make a counter on Natsu's offensive move. Suddenly without warning, a scarlet haired girl comes in front of the two boys and smashes their heads together while glaring at them.
"I told you two not to fight anymore." She says to the two boys now laying on the floor clutching their heads in pain.
"Gray started it, Erza." Natsu replies seeing stars.
"I don't care who started it Natsu, I'm tired of you guys fighting so I finished it." Erza responded still glaring at them.
"Plus, you two should save your magic power. Master Makarov said a very important announcement will be coming soon." She added on instantly grabbing Natsu's attention.
"What do you mean?" Natsu asked with excitement in his voice always wanting to know what was next.
"Yeah, same." Gray also asked wanting to know what the redhead was trying to say.
"You will have to find out for yourself once master tells you." She smirked at the two boys enjoying the hidden secret she knew about that they didn't.
"Aww, cmon Erza. That's not being fair." Natsu whined like a little child.
"Who said I was being fair?" She questioned the pinkette with a smug grin growing on her face.
"Tell us." Natsu said.
"No." Erza replied.
"Yes, tell us." Natsu insisted.
"No, find out on your own." Erza hissed now becoming annoyed with him.
"Fine..." Natsu mumbled, giving up in defeat as he once again glared at Gray. Gray glared right back and the guild was waiting for the two of them to start throwing punches again.
"I am going to go get some strawberry cake, remember what I said. NO FIGHTING." Erza reminded them and walked away.
"I am gonna beat you at whatever event she is talking about." Gray challenged Natsu.
"Talkers like that are gonna be the first to lose, Gray." Natsu smirked also walking away thus leaving the ice-make wizard alone.
"Damn pinkie." Gray mumbled strolling out of the guild hall looking to find something to do that didn't involve bashing his rival's head in.
"Hey Erza!" A white-haired woman smiles at her from the bar while she washes a dirty plate in the sink.
"Hey Mira." Erza responds back while walking over to the bar and sitting down on a stool.
"So, did you tell Natsu and Gray about the event?" Mira asked.
"Somewhat yes and somewhat no. All I told them was just to save their magic and wait for the master to announce it."
"Who do you think will win the trials this year?"
"Hmm." Erza thought. "Well honestly it depends on whoever the candidates are, but I'd say if Natsu and Gray are both in it then I guarantee one of those two would be the best pick to win the S Class Trials." Erza replied.
"Yeah I see them being really competitive if they end up facing one another." Mira said. "So, between Natsu and Gray if they are the final two left, who wins the gold?"
"Well... both of them are very strong in power and Gray's ice make magic is strong...however I feel like Natsu's dragon slaying magic and being able to wield and dissolve fire while also being able to attack and defend with it is a great source of power to have. One even Gray might not be able to beat. Based on that match-up I think Natsu would come out on top."
"Hmm...are you saying that because you like him?" Mira teased with a grin. Erza didn't respond, but Mira knew she she was correct with how flustered her friend became after she brought it up.
"Earth to Erza come back to us I was just joking with you." Still no response as Mira huffed.
"Here is your strawberry cake." Mira handed the plate with the girl's favorite desert to her. "I have to go fetch more alcohol...ya know since Cana drinks all of ours."
"Thank you, Mira." Erza thanked the white-haired mage as she instantly unfroze and began to dig into her precious sweet.
"Anytime." She smiled heading out of the guild to run her errands.
A blonde-haired female sat in her apartment in the beautiful city of Magnolia. "Ah." She stretched her arms out as she got out of her comfy bed.
"What a wonderful day it is." She thought while smiling heading to the bathroom to brush her teeth and get dressed. I wonder what that special announcement Master told us last night is all about? She wondered while closing the door making sure absolutely sure a certain nosey guildmate wasn't in her apartment.
After taking a nice long warm bath and getting dressed the blonde grabbed the golden keys lying on her dresser and opened her apartment door. She made sure to re-lock it so no one could break in and rob her of all her goods. Even though Natsu breaks in all the time... She thought annoyingly. Leaving the building and walking through the town of Magnolia she quickly arrived at her destination pushing the large wide wooden doors open with her hands.
"Hello everyone!" Lucy smiled at her guild mates.
"Hi Lucy!" They all replied as nearly every guild member was present inside the guild hall. I've never seen this many people in here before.
"Yo, Luce." Natsu grinned as he walked over to his friend with a grin.
"Hi Natsu." Lucy replied happily seeing one of her best friends in the guild.
"So, what's with all the ruckus?" Lucy asked him curiously.
"Gramps is supposed to make an announcement soon or at least that's what Erza said. Dunno what it is about though." Natsu responded.
"Oh okay, thanks Natsu!" She thanked him with a smile at helping her get caught up to date.
"Yeah, no problem." He was about to ask something when suddenly they heard someone clear their throat.
"Everyone... please quiet down." A short man with white hair said, however the rowdy guild members continued to make noise. At the top of the second-floor staircase stood Erza Scarlet who was sporting a rather large glare.
"EVERYONE, THE MASTER HAS SOMETHING TO ANNOUNCE!" She yelled down at the noisy members. Everyone went silent instantly not wanting to fear the wrath of Erza and her swords.
"Thank you Erza." The short man said.
"No problem, Master Makarov" Erza replied.
"Listen up brats!" Makarov shouted. "Today I have an announcement to make! One week from now... the S Class Trials will begin!" Noise erupted within the guild hall as everyone suddenly was cheering. Once everyone quieted back down, he continued.
"I am happily excited to announce this year's candidates." Makarov smiled down on his guild. He coughed into his hand and read off his list; "First up...Natsu Dragneel!"
"Let's go!" Natsu grinned in excitement catching the eye of his blonde friend as she patted him on the back happy for him.
"Gray Fullbuster!"
"Hell yeah!" Gray shouted sending a smirk towards Natsu. I am so going to kick your ass this year.
"Elfman Strauss!"
"It's time to make S Class like a real man!" He yelled getting eye rolls from half the guild.
"Lucy Heartfilia!"
"Whoa, what me?" She asked surprised as suddenly Natsu was giving her a pat on the back.
"Way to go Luce I knew you had it in ya! Don't think this means I'm gonna be going easy on ya now though." He chuckled.
"I wouldn't dream of it..." Lucy mumbled still shocked she of all peoplewas picked to be a candidate to become an S Class wizard.
"Gajeel Redfox!"
"Gihihi." He grinned munching on a fork while Mira was trying to snatch it from him.
"And finally," Master Makarov began. "Wendy Marvell!"
"Yeah Wendy!" Most the guild cheered for the young dragon slayer.
"I'm in the competition?" Wendy asked for clarification timidly.
"Congratulations to those six contestants. The exams will take place on FairyTail's most sacred grounds, Tenrou Island. We will depart from Hargeon's port in one week, so you best prepare thoroughly." Master spoke. "Also, you six contestants may choose one partner to guide you on your quest to becoming a S Class wizard!"
"Natsu, who do you pick?" Master asked the fire dragon slayer.
"You already know who my partner is Gramps! I'm taking my little buddy Happy." He replied giving a thumbs up at his feline friend who gave him a thumbs up of his own with his paw.
"Alright not surprised you guys are an excellent duo. Up next, Gray?"
"Pick me my darling Gray!" A girl wearing with blue hair and a coat shouted at the ice-make wizard.
"Alright fine... I'll take Juvia." Gray responded trying to draw the attention away from him.
"Interesting choice, but could end up helping you win the trials. What about you, Elfman?"
Elfman looked over at his sister and said, "I choose Lisanna. Picking your family to help you be a better wizard is a real man!" He finished his statement with his signature man quote.
"Hmm teaming with a family member that will also be tough duo. Alright now Lucy who do you pick?" The master asked.
"I will pick Levy." She replied as she hugged her blue haired friend.
"I won't let you down Lu!" Levy smiled hugging her back.
"Gajeel, who do you pick?"
"I'll take Pantherlily." Gajeel responded smoothly as he finished the fork and began working on a spoon.
"Alright." The dark black cat smirked at his partner.
"Last but not least...Wendy, who do you choose to be your partner?" Master Makarov asked.
"I will choose..." She began to speak however was quickly interrupted by many voices in the guild.
"Pick me!" A random voice said.
"No, me!" Another shouted.
"You both are fools; she should pick me!" A third responded.
"I will choose, Carla." Wendy replied to the master.
"Alright brats! Like I said earlier, you have one week to train for the time of your lives. Get ready because this won't be easy! Which one of you six will make it as an S Class Wizard?" He spoke enthusiastically.
"Let's, go Happy!" Natsu shouted as he raced out the door.
"Aye sir!" The cat responded and quickly followed the dragon slayer.
"I can't let Natsu be S Class before me!" Gray said as he ran out of the guild closely behind them.
"Gray my darling, Juvia is coming." Juvia shouted as she chased after the three.
"Gihihi. My time to be S Class again!" Gajeel smirked as he walked out with Pantherlily following.
"Let's go Lu!" Levy said. "Best start training to try to beat those five."
"Right!" Lucy responded as they headed for Lucy's apartment.
"Let's go, child." Carla spoke. "We need to work on your offensive attacks if your going to be going up against those barbarians."
"Alright." Wendy replied to her and they as well left the guild hall.
"My oh my, this year is going to be interesting." Master Makarov thought to himself watching his children run off to train for the upcoming trials.
"Erza?" Mira asked returning with the restored alcohol.
"Yes?" She replied.
"What's on your mind? The barmaid questioned as it seemed like something was troubling the requip wizard.
"I'm debating on going to see Natsu." Erza slowly responded trying to choose her words carefully not wanting to let her guard down on the love fairy.
Mirajane Strauss' shipping skills tingled instantly when she heard what Erza said. Not wanting to mess anything up she casually responded; "Maybe you should go and visit him. I'm pretty sure him and Happy are most likely training at their house in the forest."
"Alright, I will. Thank you." Erza replied to her.
"You're welcome." Smiling, she watched her best friend get up and walk out to find the fire dragon slayer. You can do it Erza! She thought happily as she disappeared back into the kitchen.
"Alright Natsu!" Happy cheered, "You can do it!"

Natsu continuously fired off spells into the air or at the ground. Sometimes his quick maneuvers would catch a tree on fire or the surrounding grass to which he quickly put the flames out.
"Wow." Happy smiled up at his partner. "You have gotten a lot stronger Natsu!"
"You really think so lil buddy?" Natsu asked while he drank some water from his canteen.
"Yeah!"
"Thanks." Natsu smirked as he began to do combat skill training with his blue cat friend cheering him on.
"Where is he at?" Erza wondered to herself trucking through the forest. Suddenly, she heard FIRE DRAGON's WING ATTACK! Knowing she found her target a small grin appeared on her features as she followed the voice and hid behind a tree after arriving to her destination. She decided to watch the pinkette train from afar as he prepared to have his shot at becoming an S Class wizard.
"Alright, Natsu give me 500 push-ups!" Happy shouted at his partner.
"Yes sir!" Natsu responded as he began to exercise.
"498...499...500!" Natsu shouted as he finished his push-ups and waited for his next instructions by his drill sergeant Happy.
"Now we need to test your speed and see how fast you actually are." Happy instructed.
"Ok bring it! What's my course?"
"Run from this plain up to the top of that hill and back." Happy replied as he showed Natsu the course.
"Alright, let's do this!" Natsu smirked as he awaited Happy's signal.
"3...2...1...GO!" Happy yelled as Natsu raced off towards the top of the hill. After only eight seconds, Natsu was at the top and sprinting back down. As he ran back onto the plain fields, Happy said; "Fourteen seconds Natsu!"
"Hmm... I'' take it for the first day but I'm gonna need to be at least ten by the end of this week if I'm gonna smoke with Gray and Gajeel. " He laughed at the end.
"For the final test today Natsu, we shall test your magic again. Release spells and see how many you can get before your magic runs low." Happy said as he put a dummy on the plains while Natsu got in his stance.

Natsu shouted as he then fell on his back, exhausted using a little bit more magic then he planned on.
"Alright Natsu. That was good. You did three spells that round and got a fourteen second run. I think we should call it a day and go eat some food cause I'm starving!" Happy shouted.
"I agree let's go get some grub. Thanks for helping little buddy." Natsu smiled at his partner.
"It's what I do." The cat said as they began to walk to their home. Erza realizing she wasn't going to be able to talk to him if she stayed hidden finally stepped out from behind the tree.
"Natsu." A voice said as Natsu turned out to see who it was.
"Oh hey, Erza." Natsu replied as he looked at her through the fading sunlight.
"How did your training go?" She asked him.
"It went well. Happy here helped me a lot. Didn't you?" He glanced over at the blue cat that was drooling after thinking about fish. Hearing his name, however he snapped out of his day dream and answered the two.
"Aye sir!" The cat replied.
"Natsu?" Erza slowly began to speak, "Can I talk to you alone real quick?"
"Yeah sure." Natsu responded as he heard Happy say he was heading back to the house.
"What's on your mind Erza?" He asked after Happy's departing figure faded back into the forest.
"It is about the S Class trials." She spoke not knowing how to say what she wanted to say to him without making a fool out of herself. I am the Erza Scarlet, why am I getting so flustered about this? She berated herself annoyedly.
"Go on." He prompted.
"I hope you win." She blurted out rather quickly making her mind go crazy.
"Oh." He said a little stunned by her strange response. After an awkward silence he added; "Thanks."
"You have gotten a lot stronger and I think you can win this year." She continued looking at him seriously.
Her words continued to surprise the dragon slayer but he shook it off and got cocky thinking about the ones he gets to fight this year in the trials. "Yeah, I'm gonna destroy stripper and iron head." Natsu smirked as he heard her giggle at his statement. Her laugh is cute...WAIT WHAT DID I JUST SAY?
Quickly trying to derail his thoughts he added; "I can't forget though; Elfman, Lucy, and Wendy are also participating. I can't lose to them either or I'll never hear the end of it!" Natsu joked.
"Wendy is young, but I believe she will do well for her age." Erza replied honestly.
"Yeah, I wonder what Carla is putting her through right about now." He chuckled to himself.
"Alright well Natsu, I must be leaving now. Good luck with the rest of your training." She said beginning to walk away.
"Wait." Natsu said making her freeze.
Turning around, Erza said; "Yes Natsu?"
"Can you help train me tomorrow? Of course, just so I can get stronger and faster?" He asked her and rapidly adding the ladder statement while looking away a little flustered.
Erza definitely noticed it, but smiled at his embarrassment and responded with a simple, "Sure Natsu." before departing back to her home in Fairy Hills.
Time Skip: (The Next Day)
"What is it master?" Erza asked him after she and Mira had been called to his office.
"I would like for us four to have a talk before the trials." He replied.
"Four?" Erza said confused. Only three of us are here...
"Hey, Erza!" A man who appeared out from the corner shadows began to speak. "It's been awhile. You sure have grown up haven't ya." He smiled.
"Gildarts?" Erza asked the man.
"Yep the one and only!" He answered.
"It is nice to see you again Gildarts." Mira spoke out with a smile.
"Uh..." Gildarts looked at the women in front of him, with a blank face he said; "Who are you?"
Mira looked at him with a hurt expression, but then quickly removed it and said; "I'm Mirajane!"
"Mira?!" Gildarts shouted at the new she-devil's appearance.
"Yep." She laughed, "Have I frightened you?"
"No not really" He replied, "You just have changed."
"Ah." She said, "I'm not as reckless as my younger self."
"Is he still reckless?" Gildarts said as he thought to himself. I haven't seen Natsu in a while is he even still in the guild? Of course he would be, Natsu would never leave FairyTail.
"Do you mean Natsu?" Mira chuckled.
"Yeah, the fire breather." He smirked thinking about the dragon slayer he has become a father figure to.
"Yes, he is. Maybe even more than ever at this current time. He is highly destructive and his team is usually frustrated with him after coming back from a job." She finished still chuckling to herself.
"Alright you three. I am sending you to the island three hours before the rest of our guild arrives. Will that be a problem?"
"No master, that is fine with us." All three of them said in unison.
"Alright Juvia." Gray spoke to her. "Ready?"
"Ready." Juvia replied.
ICE-MAKE CANON!
WATER NEBULA! Magical particles of water and ice were seen as the hit each other and dissolved.
"Good job Gray." Juvia said to him.
"Thanks." He replied with a grin on his face.
ICE-MAKE DAGGERS! Gray shouted as he ran towards Juvia.
WATER SWORD! Juvia yelled as she summoned a watering sword that blocked Gray's ice daggers just in time and saw an opening.
WATER WHIP! Juvia shouted again as her whip smacked Gray in the face as he fell to the floor
"Oh, my darling!" She said, "I am so sorry! Are you okay?" Juvia dropped to the ground next to his body to check on him
ICE-MAKE TIGER! Gray shouted as the iced tiger jumped on top of the water mage before she could react fast enough. Juvia Lockser could feel the frost coming off the tiger's breath which was currently on top of her and about to nearly finish her off. Suddenly though, before she could blast the tiger away it disappeared.
"That was good Juvia, but you can't give up your guard like that." Gray spoke to her after destroying his creation.
"Right, sorry my love." She replied to him.
"It's fine just keep up those attacks though and we'll for sure give Natsu a run for his money." He said ignoring the love part. "Well let's call it a day, shall we?" He said to her as they finished up their training for the night.
OPEN GATE OF THE GOLDEN BULL, TAURUS! Lucy shouted.
SOLID SCRIPT: FIRE Before Taurus could say anything, he was burned away and disappeared back to the spirit world.
"Alright then." Lucy yelled, "I'm going to have to step this up if I want to stand any chance."
OPEN GATE OF THE LION, LEO!
"Hello gorgeous" Leo said becoming a little distracted not seeing the blue haired girl's face in deep concentration.
"Just stop..." Lucy mumbled already tired of his antics.
SOLID SCRIPT-RUNES MAKER
"Damn I should have been paying more attention!" Leo shouted as he had been confined in a runes box and then instantly returned to the spirit world.
"Haha." Levy smirked victoriously at her friend.
"Let's call it a day shall we?" Lucy asked her wanting to recharge her self.
"Sure." Levy responded while smiling as the duo walked back into town.
SKY DRAGON's WING ATTACK!
SKY DRAGON's ROAR!
Wendy Marvell shouted out her sky dragon attacks as its power crushed trees in a five mile radius.
"Wow Wendy. That was amazing." Her exceed complimented her.
"Thanks Carla, but Natsu's is way stronger." Wendy replied.
"That may be so." Carla said, "However, you have a brain and can heal yourself unlike he can. Dragneel will just run himself till he is empty on magic and after that is over, he will just use his brute force."
"That's why we all admire Natsu though, right?" Wendy asked.
"What do you mean, child?" Carla responded.
"I mean we all admire Natsu, because he never gives up. He would sacrifice himself to save FairyTail." Wendy said smiling.
"He is stubborn, I think." Carla huffed. "However, his bond with his family and friends as well with his magical power will keep his flame ignited." Carla replied to her as they began to walk home to Fairy Hills.
Time Skip: (One Day Before the Trials)
"Okay Natsu, hit me with some of your best fire attacks." Erza spoke requipping into her FLAME EMPRESS ARMOR.

Erza smiled as she watched her armor get slightly damaged by the dragon slayer as he began to pant a little from his exhaustion. "Now let us test your speed." Erza had Happy time her and she ran from the plains to the top of the hill and back in seven seconds.
"3...2...1...GO!" Erza yelled as Natsu blasted off towards the hill. As Natsu came to the finish, he was at eleven seconds.
"Eleven seconds Natsu." Erza said as Natsu smiled causing her to smile back. He's improving.
"That is three more then yesterday's!" He smirked.
"Indeed." She added, "Good job, we are finished." The sky had turned dark and the stars were out. Natsu watched as Erza had laid on the ground and was looking up at the stars. Deciding to follow her, he laid next to her and looked up too. She became a little flustered at Natsu's actions but luckily it was dark so he wasn't able to see her embarrassment.
"The stars are pretty aren't they Natsu?" She decided to ask him and try to strike up a conversation as it became a little awkward.
"Yeah." He said. "To bad I don't know any of them. Lucy tries to help me remember which one is which, but I always forget." Natsu said as he yawned.
"Say Erza, how exactly are we getting to Tenrou?" Natsu asked sitting up glancing over at her.
Instantly she knew what his reaction was going to be but none the less he asked so she had to tell him the truth. "We're going on a boat Natsu." Also sitting up she closely watched his lit up smile quickly retract into a frown before his eyes lit up again, this time in terror.
"TRANSPORTATION? NO!" He cried out before sighing in defeat and resting back down on the ground. Erza continued to look into the sky and not long after she heard the dragon slayer snoozing himself into slumber next to her. She turned her head and smiled at how peaceful he looked sleeping. Deciding it was late she lightly picked up the sleeping dragon slayer and carried him back to his cottage like old times back when they were children before departing back to her own dorm in Fairy Hills.
Time Skip: (With Natsu & Lucy)
Natsu thought he should get a lot of sleep before the big day however he found himself only getting an hour of sleep. Stupid hammock...Oh I know I'll go sleep in Lucy's bed! With his decision made he left his cottage and began making his journey out of the woods and into the town of Magnolia where he knew Lucy lived.
Turning onto Strawberry Street, where she lived, his eyes searched for the red and brown two story apartment belonging to the Celestial Spirit Summoner. Gotcha! Natsu thought to himself once he found it before sneaking over to the side of the house and began climbing up to her bedroom window. However once he made it to the window that was usually unlocked for whatever reason he noticed his friend was still up and pacing around in her room. Sliding the window up quietly as possible he snuck into her room without her even noticing his presence.
"Why would Master choose me?" Lucy sulked aloud as she thought about who she would have to fight tomorrow. "I have to go against Natsu, Gray, Gajeel, Elfman and Wendy..."
"What are you scared of me or something?" Natsu suddenly spoke startling her as she let out a little scream of terror.
"Who's there!" She demanded turning around, but quickly calmed down noticing who was sitting on the window sill. "N-Natsu! How long have you been here?"
"About an hour." He responded as her eyes went heavily wide thinking he was being serious. How did I miss seeing him?
"Relax Luce, I was just joking I've only been here for like two minutes." He saw the understanding dawn in her face as she sat on her bed.
Glancing up from her cupped hands in her lap she opened the doors that were troubling her. "I'm scared Natsu." She spoke looking up at the fire dragon slayer. Concern formed on his features as he got off the sill and walked over to her before sitting next to her.
"Why are you scared? If it's about getting seriously hurt during the trials, don't be afraid I doubt Gray and Gajeel would actually try to break your bones." He chuckled before menacingly adding "Because if they did then they would pay dearly."
Lucy was a little startled at the way his mood switched but before she could ask him about his cheery grin was back. His words played over in her mind, but they didn't seem to calm her nerves down much. "It's not that its just...are we gonna be okay on Tenrou Island?"
"What do you mean? Gramps told us Tenrou is FairyTail's most sacred grounds so its obviously safe right?" He tried reasoning with her.
"But what if something bad happens" She asked still having a bad feeling in her gut about this trip.
"Don't worry Luce, if something bad happens then I got your back alright?" He answered trying to restore her spirit while flashing his signature toothy grin at her.
"Yeah okay Natsu thank you. So anyways, what are you doing here so late?"
"Hehe. I can't really sleep for whatever reason back home so I decided to drop here and take a nap on this comfy cloud you own."
"..." Lucy just looked at her best friend before glaring at him. "Don't you even think about it mister you are NOT sleeping in my bed!"
"Too late." He teased as he relaxed onto the bed and instantly fell asleep leaving a shell shocked Lucy standing there looking at him. Well I guess it isn't that bad... She thought a little annoyed before she quietly got in with him. Flipping over so she could turn out the light on her night stand she flipped the switch and glanced back over at her best friend sleeping peacefully.
"Good night Natsu." She smiled before laying down and entering her own land of dreams.
Time Skip: (One Week Later)
It wasn't just another FairyTail day. Everyone who was present knew that. This was the moment, today was the day that one out of six contestants chosen had a shot of becoming a FairyTail S Class wizard.
"Alright brats." Master Makarov called out for his children to hush. "It is time for the S Class Trials!" Everyone began cheering. "We will be embarking on the Fairy Fleet in an hour and a half. Grab all of your essentials and meet us at Hargeon's Port by noon."
"Yes sir." They all replied.
