Chapter 9 - Lightning Fire Dragon

She could see the flaring anger, the refusal of defeat and a burning passion of survival in his eyes as he fought against the ice binding him to his grave marker, a blaze doused in a thunder storm.
He could see the fading hope, the acceptance of failure and the desire of victory in her eyes as she hung in the air by the chains binding her to a new life, a life she was unwilling to enter.
"Don't you dare give up Wendy! You hear me? FairyTail never turns its back on one of our own, we will be rescued!"
Those were the last words the sky dragon slayer had heard before he was instantly gone like a forgotten memory.
When are they going to let me out of here?
Following her question, the door opened allowing Hades, Ultear, and Zancrow entry.
"Hello dragon girl." Zancrow smiled which made a shiver run down her spine as her eyes instantly ignited with anger.
"Enough Zancrow." Hades ordered Zancrow. When his master had turned back around to face his captive, he glared bullets into Hades while Ultear merely chuckled into her hand.
"Wendy Marvell, I am here to tell you that your guild was wiped out by a dragon." Hades began.
Wendy shifted into a more comfortable position, as comfortable as she could at least get, before releasing a timid, "What?"
"The black dragon, Acnologia, completely demolished Tenrou Island. All of FairyTail were killed and their bodies never found. However, we did get word that your friend was enveloped into the destructive blast and suffered the same fate as his guild members." He laughed at the end.
"No...that can't be." She spoke disbelievingly trying to wrap her mind around the new information. "You're lying!"
"No my dear, I certainly am not. However, for you it gets even better." He said with a smirk growing upon his face as he waved Ultear over.
"Give her the news Ultear."
"According to the destruction of your former guild and your new upcoming journey, Wendy Marvell you are now hereby a member of Grimoire Heart!" She finished pulling out a magical stamp and instantly her FairyTail guild mark was replaced. Now on her right shoulder, where a former blue fairy resided, now lay a black Grimoire Heart insignia.
Her shock was evident as she hung speechless in her chains with wide eyes while the three captors laughed aloud in amusement.
"You best prepare for your new life Miss Marvel, because once we arrive you will have no collections of your former identity." He concluded as he began walking to the door to exit.
"Maybe once your memory has been erased we could become good accomplices." Ultear told the girl as she too went through the door.
Wendy's body refused to cooperate as her brain had been completely shutdown from the breaking news. Zancrow looked at the chained girl and walked closely up to her as his eyes bore into her failing ones.
"I won the war with pinky and I just want you to know something dragon girl, once we arrive and your mind is wiped...you will be mine." He darkly chuckled before leaving the former Fairy to her broken thoughts exiting the chamber.
Farther back in the forests a blonde spike haired man with a scar running down on his face lay on his back unconscious. After a short while, a curly and wild blonde haired girl appeared and began dragging him to safety. Reaching her destination, she stopped and placed him next to a pink also spike haired man who also laid unconscious. Looking at both a frown appeared on her features after seeing their conditions. The blonde's right side of his chest was punctured with a still sparking electric spear.
"Oh!" She shouted in surprise finally noticing the weapon and quickly pulled it out, instantly putting the light out as she now held an empty spear. Spreading her hands over the wound, she began to lightly hum to herself as a white glow appeared in her palm before enveloping the injured mage. Not long after her humming had stopped, the man's wound looked to be nearly completely healed.
"There, all better!" She clapped her hands happily at her work. "You'll have a scar there but I'm sure you won't mind considering you already have one on your face." She lightly chuckled to herself before frowning once more. Her eyes fell upon the mage she saved from drowning and unlike the blonde she had just fixed up, the pinky was a different story.
His body was heavily bruised and his cuts bled open, his right eye was black, and he had a small scar on the same side right near the eye, a lucky break Zancrow's spell had missed nearly blinding him permanently. Like she did with the blonde, her palms began to glow again as she gingerly healed as much as she could. His swollen eye reduced back to its normal size, but the scar that nearly took his eye out remained there.
"What is it with men and scars?" She chuckled again to herself before noticing the man next to her beginning to stir.
"It is okay. You may awake now." Her gentle voice said as the man rose up from his slumber and looked around.
He was a little started by the sight, but then asked, "Who are you?"
The girl smiled and said, "Mavis Vermillion, FairyTail's first master."
First Master?!
Suddenly, before Laxus could speak again, he noticed Mavis frowning.
"You have no guild mark and don't seem to have a connection to the guild." Her expression darkened. "Why are you on the island?"
"Chill First," the man spoke. "I am Laxus Dreyar, the grandson of Makarov."
"Oh." She simply stated. "You were kicked." Mavis added with a darkening look towards him which quickly turned saddened.
"Yeah, however I heard some losers were messing with my old guild so I came out to help and glad I did. First, how exactly am I here and where are the others?"
"No wonder you can't recall anything." Mavis began, "You have been asleep for six years Laxus Dreyar."
"Six Years!" He shouted in astonishment.
"Yes, now keep your voice down." She scolded at him as she looked down towards the pinkette still in her arms, which seemed to have gone unnoticed originally by Laxus. Glancing now at her lap he became aware of the unconscious wizard.
"Natsu?" Laxus asked after seeing his fellow dragon slayer's defeated state.
"Yes, this is Natsu Dragneel. He has been through a quite lot recently. Thankfully since I rescued him from the sea, he has been healing and will soon be recovered." She answered.
"That's good to hear." Laxus said. "However, what happen to him?" He added as he was confused to see the fire dragon slayer so beat up.
"Natsu had been through a lot since the guild arrived. He fought S-Class member Gildarts and advanced to the second round of the trials... then Grimoire Heart attacked." Her expression darkened once more as Laxus noticed the anger from the girl.
"Grimorie Heart?" Laxus asked trying to take her mind away from the pinkette. "Aren't they a dark guild?"
"Yes, they are a dark guild. Natsu fought two of their members...however in the end he and the other slayer, Wendy Marvell, were both captured. After the battle came to a near with a rude interruption by Acnologia, the black dragon, the two dragon slayers were separated."
"Acnologia attacked too?" Laxus asked and was given a simple nod by the first master who continued rambling.
"I managed to save his life and have been resting with him since I casted Fairy Sphere on the guild to protect them and they are currently resting still on the island, however if you do return... you may not tell the others about Natsu Dragneel. He is a work in progress and I am not one hundred percent certain that I can restore him to as he once was. His reckless actions could have cost him his own life had I not stepped in at that right time." She finished.
"Wow." Laxus spoke nearly dazed from all the information he was given from FairyTail's first master. "Don't worry First, I won't tell them about Natsu." He looked down and noticed his spear was dislodged and his wound had been healed up leaving behind only a scar.
"Did you do this?" He asked in amazement wondering how she had not been fried as he began to stand up.
"Yes I did, now hang on Laxus." Mavis perked up from the ground where she was sitting. Since you don't have anything to do right now...do you think you could help me by giving Natsu your lightning?" She looked at him in the eyes waiting to hear his answer.
"You want me to do what?" Laxus asked the first master in order to make sure he heard her right.
"I need your help in getting lightning to Natsu." She repeated.
Laxus was shocked at first and then recovered. "Why the hell are we going to do that and how the hell are we gonna do that?" He asked.
"To answer the first part, Natsu is trapped in a frozen like trance, that's the best way I can put it for you. I can continue to heal him but he will never wake up. However, I believe if you strike him with your magic you may be able to break through and we can save him." She stated firmly.
"Anything you need First, I gotcha." Laxus agreed.
"Are you sure you can do this Laxus?" Mavis questioned as they locked eyes.
"Why wouldn't I?" He asked.
"I need you to give him the strongest shock you can manage." She revealed as recognition dawned in his eyes.
"I am willing to do it, but are you positive this is the right thing to do? What if it kills him!" Laxus challenged.
His challenge was accepted by Mavis instantly as her soft eyes narrowed into a steel gaze. "It's a risk we'll just have to take, their is no other way."
Wendy rounded the top of the apartment complex stairs and walked into her room. Shutting the door with a tired sigh, she slid into her bed and looked to the right at the picture that laid against the wall. In the picture was a pink haired boy, Wendy, and two cats which were blue and white colored. Wendy began to tear up as she remembered her friend, but that was all she could remember. The two cats in the photo were unfamiliar and whenever she tried to think of anything outside the pink haired mage, she would get a headache as if she had no other memories besides her best friend.
Flashback:
Her head banged into the wall behind her as she felt the ship come to a stop and right on timing as she became awake, Hades and his Seven Kin followed into the chamber.
"Rise and shine princess, your castle awaits." Zancrow said aloud causing the rest of the members to snicker while Ultear went and placed something around the girl's neck.
"I won't go!" Wendy refused as she glared Hades down waiting for a chance to free herself.
"You will go, and not only will you go, you will go obeyingly with a smile on your face as you are given a second chance at life."
"You can't force me and I like my first life!" Wendy shook her head disobediently trying to figure a way out.
"That was the wrong answer girl." Hades growled as he pressed a button and the collar around her neck electrocuted her. Her struggles went limp while her eyes became dazed.
"Release her from the binds Zancrow." Hades ordered as the yellow haired sadistic man took the key and removed the padlocks on her chains letting her drop to the floor roughly. "And since you were the one to call her princess you can also be the one to carry her to the laboratory." He cast an evil glance at Zancrow who now happened to be the one glaring at the dark guild master. With no other words, Hades turned his back to the chamber and the entire ship fleet as well as a captive dragon slayer disembarked the damaged vessel and headed toward the guildhall.
On the way to Grimoire Heart's base, Wendy Marvell had awoken in the arms of Zancrow who continued to glare down at her. Noticing she was awake he gave her a sadistic smirk which did not make the girl any better. Finally ignoring his antics, she looked around at the surroundings and indeed they were coming upon a castle.
"Welcome to Castle Hades." The pink haired girl known as Meredy, spoke as she drifted next to Zancrow.
"Yep dragon girl, this is your new home." Zancrow added enjoying seeing the girl in his arms hopes begin to shatter like glass.
"We are almost there, Miss Marvel. Everything you know of your former life make sure to go through it all one last time clearly, because that will be the last you ever experience it." Hades announced from the front not even bothering to turn around to face her.
"I don't need your pity Hades!" Wendy shouted out as she leaped from Zancrow's arms attempting to try a spell before she heard a beeping noise and was once again electrocuted.
"Gosh, I can't wait until she has her mind erased, she is such a pain." Rustyrose said causing laughter to ring out across the group.
"Right you are Rusty, but there is one thing you're forgetting. Unlike the rest of you lot who are members of my guild, Miss Marvel will not be just a member...she is a weapon." Hades declared making everyone go quiet as they continued to march to the castle dragging a dazed dragon slayer along with them.
Castle Hades boomed in size as its magnificent glory illuminated under the darkened sky.
"Night time sure is the right time isn't it?" Zancrow spoke to the rather quiet guild. His joke went unnoticed which surprised him. "Oh come on, that wasn't that bad."
"Hush you annoying brat, we have arrived." Hades ordered as the castle guards began to lift the gate and the gigantic Grimoire Heart banner was visible.
Wendy, who had awakened earlier and was feigning being asleep, cautiously opened her eyes slightly and the sight horrified her. Her eyesight landed directly on the Grimoire Heart crimson colored flag as she understood her fate had been sealed. They were in the middle of nowhere, FairyTail was gone and Natsu was not coming to save her. Her fate indeed truly was sealed.
Hades halted the group as he walked to the back and glanced down at the bruised dragon slayer.
"I know you're awake Miss Marvel and would like not to have to electrocute you to get you down those steps." He stated.
The thought of anymore electrocution caused her eyes to instantly open and make contact with his as she let out a low curse.
"Ah there she is! Come now dear, it is time to enter a new world."
Wendy wanted to lash out, to tear his eyes out, anything that would damage him and get her to safety...but there was nothing she could do. Her magic was locked away out of use and disobeying would only lead to more punishment. She simply nodded and trudged next to Hades as they reached the steps and began to descend.
She looked around seeing Ultear, Meredy, Zancrow, and Rustyrose with the two of them. The more they descended, the more her heart raced knowing this was truly it. Everything she had known, everyone she had met, everything she had accomplished...would be all but gone in a matter of seconds. They entered the laboratory as Hades ordered Ultear to restrain her while he went to the controls. Without a single word, Wendy was pulled along by the woman and felt herself be placed on a table as her limbs were tied and a circular laser machine rest above her head.
"This is for the best." Ultear lowly spoke feeling an odd small bit of regret for the young girl about to have her entire civilization change without her want. She backed up from the table and gave a thumbs up to Hades as she rejoined the Seven Kin group off to the side behind a wall of glass.
"Any last words Miss Marvel? You will keep your basic life knowledge, your magic and your identity, but everything else will be gone." Hades asked.
Wendy continued to refuse to respond as she lay under the machinery that would change her life forever. Her first ever guild Cait Shelter played through her mind, Erza's invitation to FairyTail, all the successful jobs she completed, the teams she worked with and accompanied, and Natsu. The bright fiery dragon slayer who could summon flames from his fists at will and deliver a bashing against his opponent in a heart beat if provoked, the kind person she admired who never gave up on a friend and the one who promised she would be rescued. His pink hair, his onyx eyes, his grin that could make anyone smile...
"WAIT!" Wendy shouted so loud that everyone in the room went quiet.
"Yes?" Hades questioned as he was mere moments from beginning the memory wipe process.
"Please...Please Hades. I will do everything you tell me and more in my new life, be the obedient mage you want to be, and all those things...just please...let me keep my memories of Natsu Dragneel." She pleaded not wanting to forget her best friend forever.
Hades was shocked at her declaration and almost scoffed it off, almost. Then again he saw no danger in giving her the desired wish she wanted. The fire dragon slayer was obliterated by Acnologia, memories of him would do no harm to his guild. He really wanted to deny her request and leave her to suffer, because it wouldn't matter if he memory wiped her right now she would not even know who the pinkette had been and would have no recollections of anything in her FairyTail life. However, somewhere deep down inside something spoke to Hades.
"Alright, I will let you keep your memories and past adventures with the fire dragon slayer. You will not recall any other guild members or events without him. Anything or anyone who also was involved in these memories with you both will cease to exist and you will never remember any of it again. Your mind will be filled with past Grimoire Heart stories blurred so you're unable to decipher any of it and when you awaken you will think you were truly a dark guild mage all along. Enjoy your peaceful eternal slumber Makarov's child." Hades accepted her request, before powering the machine on and instantly putting the girl to sleep as his Seven Kin watched on in the new creation of Grimoire Heart's strongest weapon. The sky dragon slayer, Wendy Marvell.
"Laxus once Natsu awakens, whatever you do, do not mention Wendy anywhere around him." Mavis ordered.
"What, why?"
"Remember how I said he and Wendy had been captured?" She began.
"Yeah I recall you mentioning it, but what about it?" Laxus questioned.
"I do not one hundred percent know all the details, so listen well. In your eyes the battle with Grimoire Heart and Acnologia was only a couple days, however in reality time it has been six years since anyone heard of any trace from you all."
"Alright, so how does that refrain to Wendy?"
"Let me finish and if you stop interrupting me then you can find out." She lightheartedly chuckled at her joke which didn't come across as if Laxus thought it was one so he closed up pretty quickly.
"As I was saying, it has been six years. Six years ago, there was a disturbance within the guild's magical aura. Without warning, I lost contact with Wendy Marvell and I fear may she may no longer carry the guild's emblem."
"WHAT!" Laxus said incredulously.
"That is why I don't want you to mention her around him, or anywhere at all. I have no idea what happened with the young dragon, but I can't help but think the worst. She is quite possibly under Grimoire Heart rule now."
"I get it now. If Pyro here gets word of that he will go off looking for her and who knows what would happen."
"Exactly."
"I can't help but be curious though First, are you just going to leave the little runt behind then?" He asked.
"Laxus Dreyar, you of all people should know FairyTail never turns its back on own of its own." She stated.
"Yeah alright, well you ready to do this?" He spoke looking down to her.
"Yeah, let's do it!" She happily cheered as they surrounded the unconscious pinkette. She sat back down and pulled his head up into her lap as she looked up at Laxus.
"Ready when you are."
"Are you sure you'll okay be right there First, you wanted me to use the strongest lightning I can muster, its bound to hit you." He questioned uncertainly.
"Oh please, your magic can't even hurt me." She laughed as she adjusted the dragon slayer's scarf and gave Laxus a thumbs up. She spread her arms around him as his entire body began to glow in a light blue haze while Mavis seemed to be concentrating while she hummed to herself.
I will not fail you Natsu Dragneel, you still have a devious adventure ahead of you.
"Alright, here goes nothing hope this doesn't kill you Natsu!" Laxus shouted as he raised his fist high into the sky. Electricity began to explode off his muscled figure as his opened glowing with a yellow intensity like none other.
RAGING BOLT!
The massive lightning charged attack slammed into the dragon wizard as sparks flew in all directions causing Laxus to have to shield even his own eyes.
Seconds went by, and seconds quickly turned into minutes as Laxus looked upon the shielded spot where he knew FairyTail's first master and his fellow dragon slayer were located. Finally after a little while the shield exploded and revealed the two once more.
"Did it work?" He asked.
"Yes, I feel his presence, he has been freed and will awaken shortly. Remember what I said Laxus, no her mentions alright?" Despite not actually clarifying what she meant, Laxus easily figured it out.
"Right you got it, not a word."
Mavis moved Natsu under a tree and continued to watch over him while he rested before Laxus sat down next to her. Before he could speak though he noticed a small grin appearing on her face.
"He's awakened." She simply revealed and on que the dark onyx eyes opened. Immediately the pink haired mage sat up and started holding his head while shouting loud curses to the sky.
"Oww, my head..." Natsu mumbled after the pain seemed to have calm down a bit.
"Glad to see you're still alive Natsu!" Laxus called out with his own grin as he knew he was the last expecting person for Natsu to see.
At the call of his name, Natsu turned his head around as he reworked his balance standing up, although painfully.
"Laxus?!" He shouted in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
"Same as you I suppose. Was trying to save our guild." Laxus replied.
The mention of FairyTail made the last couple of days come flying into Natsu like a train.
"The others! Are they okay? Where's Wendy!" He asked worriedly.
"Calm down Natsu Dragneel, first lets introduce ourselves." Mavis suggested. At the sound of her voice, Natsu finally seemed to notice the blonde sitting across from him. He glanced at the girl and his nose twitched trying to recognize a scent. Not knowing who she was he tilted his head questioningly.
"Uh, who are you?"
She stood up with a bright smile as she walked over to the confused mage and engulfed him in a small hug which took even Laxus by surprise.
"Natsu it is a pleasure to meet you, I am Mavis Vermillion, FairyTail's first master." Mavis revealed to him.
"FIRST MASTER?!" Natsu exclaimed in shock as he recoiled and fell over a fallen tree log. Banging his head on the hard ground yet again, he cursed and lifted himself to look at the girl using his hands.
"Yes, I am the founder of your guild, FairyTail." She added while lightly laughing at his antics.
Natsu rubbed the back of his head while sheepishly muttering, "Hehe sorry there first master, you just caught me off guard."
Continuing to laugh Mavis extended her hand towards the fallen young man and helped pull him to his feet. "It is quite alright Natsu come now, you too Laxus, we have much to discuss about." She turned her back on them and began to walk into the forest. The two dragon slayers eyed one another before shrugging their shoulders and following after the founder of FairyTail.
Shifting through the controls, Hades lifted the laser upwards before moving it away from the table. He motioned to Ultear access, as the dark purple haired woman entered the room once more. Looking down at the figure shocked her. The bluenette looked identically the same, but her magic aura seemed to have changed. Her thoughts were shut down as Hades' voice boomed across the laboratory.
"Rise, Wendy Marvell for you have a new adventure to go on." At his command, Ultear released the binds that had been restraining the girl as she sat up and looked around confused. After a couple minutes of silence, Wendy swung her legs over the table and hopped down onto the marble floor. She noticed the man at the controls and immediately bowed which amazed even the Seven Kin.
"I am so sorry for oversleeping Master Hades." She eeked out in apology fearing the worst. However to everyone's shock, Hades walked over and placed a hand on her shoulder forcing her to look up into his green eyes.
"Don't worry about that Wendy, take all the time you need." He spoke before adding, "Not too much though you need to meet the rest of your guild!"
With those words, Hades called for the rest of the Seven Kin entry and they stood all before their new member. Hades began to point to each one as he listed off their names and magic.
"Ultear, a time mage including the Arc of Time."
"Meredy, uses Maguilty Sense."
"Zancrow is the fire god slayer."
"Rustyrose specials in the Arc of Embodiment."
"They are all known as the Seven Kin of Purgatory. As you may see, their are only four of them here as three are currently missing, one presumed to be gone forever. Wendy, once you turn eighteen you will be promoted to join this elite group." Hades declared.
"Eighteen?" Wendy asked, "But I'm only twelve."
"Exactly, so until then you will be training hard and quickly so you can become even more powerful." He explained. He noticed the girl nod her head in understanding as he swept his arms across the room.
"We're done here, it's time to go meet the rest of Grimoire Heart!" The Seven Kin as well as Wendy followed their guild master up the stairs and up into the dark as the laboratory doors were sealed shut locking away valuable memories, forever.
"Six years...it's been six years!" Natsu asked a little skeptical.
"Yeah pyro, Acnologia really did a number on us." Laxus answered as he and Mavis sat watching Natsu carefully.
"The guilds okay?"
"Yes, Natsu FairyTail is okay, but similar to how you were, they are in comatose.
"Coma-what?"
"Comatose, it means their sleeping idiot." Laxus annoyedly answered his question ignoring the dragon slayer's glare.
"Ok, what about We-" he had begun before Mavis jumped up interrupting him.
"Natsu, how about you battle Laxus?" She curiously asked hoping to stall his young mind just a little longer.
"A battle? Hell yeah! What do you say Laxus or are you too scared to fight me." Natsu challenged. Laxus who was about to refuse caught the blonde's forceful look at him and assumed she had another meaning for this tactic. He glanced at the pinkette before smugly smiling.
"You're on." He accepted the challenge as the two began to walk away from the camp to a battleground area. Before he could get far though, he felt his right shoulder get tugged as he was then facing Mavis.
"Laxus I need your help in my goal here." Mavis said.
"What's up First?" Laxus questioned.
"I would like for you to use your lightning again on Natsu, but this time during your battle."
"What...why?" He asked.
"If my theory is correct then this should work. When you struck him I had put a shield around him, and while that shield was up I saw something amazing. The lightning broke through the shield and somehow someway awoke his own flames. If my assumption is correct, I want to use your electricity from your lightning dragon slaying magic as a power source for Natsu's fire dragon slaying magic so it can fuse them together and enhance the power of his flames."
Laxus just stood there taking in her words as he stared at her wide eyed. "You want me to give Natsu a power boost?"
"Yes, if he can manage to dual wield his fire and your lightning he could become an unstoppable force."
"You know you have a lot of faith in him First." Laxus spoke.
"The whole guild does, you should too." Mavis finished as she turned leaving him behind and followed after the fire wizard.
The group entered the noisy guildhall as members played games, ate food, drank beverages and even sparred one another to see whos magic was the strongest. However, all these events came to an abrupt halt once Hades rang a rather large bell releasing a heavy clangor through the building.
"Sorry to interrupt all you were doing, but I have an important announcement to make." He began as anyone who hadn't quieted down already due to his presence instantly closed up.
"As most of you know, the Seven Kin and I took a little vacation to Tenrou Island to look for something. We were unsuccessful in our goal there, but I have come across a new project." He continued as he waved someone to the front of the crowd to stand next to him. The members gasped as they saw the unfamiliar small bluenette who kept looking around at her surroundings curiously.
"She currently is twelve, but when she turns eighteen she will join the elite squad of the Seven Kin. Everyone, here is the sky dragon slayer, Wendy Marvell!" Hades ceased his speech as the members began to clap with excitement.
"Hi its nice to me-" Wendy began before being cut off by a high pitch.
"Twelve? Did you say twelve!" The voice called out as they reached the front of the line. Wendy turned her head to see a black haired boy with brown eyes slide to the front of their group dragging a orange haired girl who sported green eyes next to him. His eyes grew wider as he examined the small girl before him before chucking and eagerly sticking his hand out toward her.
"My name is Ash, nice to meet ya! I train in the electric field." He spoke while shaking her hand in greeting, "That over there is my best friend Misty. She specializes in water magic."
"Pleased to make your acquaintance Wendy." Misty added while she too shook the dragon slayer's hand before turning around and whacking the back of her friend's head. "Ash! What did I say about your behavior, I'm not a freaking ragdoll!" She chastised him crossing her arms while he just rubbed his now sore head.
"Alright move out of the way Ash." Another voice spoke as she bulldozed the boy back into the crowd so she could see the newbie.
"It's nice to see other young ones here too for a change." A brunette haired girl smiled warmly at Wendy. "I am Jenny Alexander, I work with plant magic, one moment." She used her right arm and pulled someone close to her.
"Wendy, meet Alice Woodson. Alice meet Wendy." Jenny continued. "Her magic is...well its unknown currently, but Master Hades says she has a very strong magical core and once she's able to tap into her abilities she could be a real threat for the good guys haha." She finished laughing into her hand.
"I hope I am able to fit in with you all." Wendy shyly revealed while Jenny pulled her in next to her with Alice on the other side.
"Don't you worry, we're going to become the best of friends!" She cheered as the rest of the guild looked on curious to see how the new recruit would end up doing.
"Alright this is a one on one match, no killing blows you hear!" Mavis called out as the two dragon slayers sized each other up before nodding.
"You ready for a beatdown Laxus?" Natsu taunted as his fists burst into flames.
"I guess we'll just have to see whether or not your stamina can keep up." He retaliated.
"Haha, I've been waiting for so long to fight you again." Natsu exclaimed as he began to rush towards his fellow dragon slayer.
FIRE DRAGON's IRON FIST! The flames flared furiously at the lightning mage who raised his arm and blocked the attack easily.
"Gonna have to do better then that, Natsu...or are you seriously that weak?" Laxus now was the one taunting. That taunting indeed did work as he began to rile the pinkette up.
"Shut up you, you know I'm stronger then you!"
FIRE DRAGON's BRILLIANT FLAME! The ball of orange fire rapidly raced towards the S-Class mage who his began to use his own magic and shielded himself from the attack.
"That's better but you're still way behind kid. Now it's my turn." Laxus leaned back slightly before grinning.
LIGHTNING DRAGON's ROAR! On instinct, Natsu prepared his own in retaliation deciding to counter the attack rather then blocking it.
FIRE DRAGON's ROAR! The two behemoth spells slammed into one another instantly canceling the other out. Before Natsu could even blink he saw lightning crackle around Laxus before the yellow haired man disappeared.
What the-
His thoughts were overrun as suddenly a lightning bolt struck the ground and his opponent reappeared right before him.
LIGHTNING DRAGON's BREAKDOWN FIST! The pinkette murmured a curse before he was blasted in the jaw from the powerful electric attack. He was unable to fire back though as he was once again being drilled from all directions before being hit at point blank range.
LIGHTNING DRAGON's JAW! Laxus opened his hands releasing a massive ball of lightning that battered on the dragon slayer's last second summoned flames acting like a shield wall.
"Dammit I won't lose to you again!" He roared in frustration as he leaped back up although heavy damage had been done.
"You sure you don't want to surrender Natsu?" Laxus offered knowing he had this won.
"Hell no, give me everything ya got!" Natsu challenged with a smirk as his magic aura began to flare out of control most noticeably to Mavis.
"Here it goes!" LIGHTNING DRAGON's IRON HAMMER! The energy of the spell grew to maximize sizes as Laxus punched the ground sending shockwaves in every direction and a ferocious bolt of lightning directly at his target. Come on this has to work.
As the ground crumbled around him, Natsu began to run into the onrushing piercing bolt.
"Dragon Slayer's Secret Art..." Natsu chanted as crimson flames ignited wildly off his figure.
CRIMSON LOTUS: PHOENIX BLADE! The bolt hit its directed mark and struck its target, however to Laxus' amazement the fire dragon slayer shattered the weapon as it exploded upon impact. He had no time to react watching his foe suck in the explosion including the lightning as his eyes turned into slits and scales appeared on his face.
"You're done Laxus!" Natsu's new mysterious voice called out as he bum rushed the man and threw him high into the sky following after him and headbutting him back down as Laxus careened into a tree the force nearly knocking him unconscious. Natsu dropped back onto the surface before his flames died down and he lost his balance falling onto his back. The scales on his face disappeared as his breathing slowed signaling he had fallen asleep.
Mavis walked out onto the battlefield as she summarized the damage done to the forest. She sighed at their destructiveness before smiling widely as her wish had been answered.
"What's the happy look for First?" Laxus asked as he stood next to her using her shoulder to support himself for the moment. She turned and beamed up at him as her eyes lit up with gratitude.
"Not only did we merge his flames with your lightning, it also looks like we unlocked another level of dragon force." She concluded as she began to walk over to the unconscious mage. She lifted him up into a sitting position before dragging him over to lay against a tree letting him rest.
"He hasn't used his magic in six years, I'm astonished he was able to fight that long." Mavis said as she began to fix Laxus' head up.
"Yeah, that kid sure is something."
"Laxus now that my suspicions have been confirmed would you help me train him for the next year so he can use these powers in later duels?" She asked finishing bandaging the back of his neck.
"Sure First, now you've got me curious to see how far Natsu can go." He answered popping his fingers and replaying that battle in his mind. Damn kid you sure have gotten strong.
After two weeks of Natsu's duel power awakening, the two 'friends' Mavis and Laxus had began to develop Natsu's new fighting style. Laxus would aid Natsu if he needed more lightning to accomplish something. Mavis was unsure of what had been damaged in Natsu exactly, or if there was any damage to his core, but just to be safe she did not want to break his physical magic if he used a large spell. In order to make sure of that she had Natsu begin with his easier cast spells first to build up for a far more challenging one.
"Alright here I go!" Natsu smirked as he smacked his fists together and flames rolled out from behind him.
FIRE DRAGON's IRON FIST! The pinkette yelled as he slammed a fiery fist towards a tree they were using for a target.
"Good job Natsu." Mavis smiled as she applauded his work.
"You ain't seen nothing yet, First!" He did his signature grin and began to escalate more power while closing his eyes. Mavis was confused at first due to his actions, but then quickly understood what he was planning to do as he opened them back up and yelled,
FIRE DRAGON's ROAR! A typhoon of fire rocketed into the forest as it lit ablaze a tree and charring it before turning it into ashes.
"Whoops." Natsu chuckled with smoke rolling out from his mouth. "Guess I shouldn't have gone that far."
"No it's okay." Master Mavis looked after him. "Continue. Let's step up the power Natsu." She told him confidence growing in herself after witnessing his overwhelming power. The pink haired fire breather began to shout spells off left and right.
FIRE DRAGON's SWORD HORN!

FIRE DRAGON's CRUSHING FANG!
As Natsu gasped for a breather, they all decided to take one. After a few hours of rest which Natsu was appreciatively for, Mavis asked the dragon slayer to attempt his new found lightning power.
"Don't worry Natsu, Laxus is here if you need a recharge and I am here for you if anything goes wrong."
The fun mood that the trio had been sharing now turned into seriousness as Natsu stood still beginning to spawn a tornado around him shadowed by flames. As the intensity of the fiery tornado increased, small sparks of electricity could be seen within the vortex.
You can do it, Natsu. Just let it all come to you. Mavis thought to herself as she watched Natsu began to move around.
LIGHTNING FIRE DRAGON MODE! Natsu casted as the electric sparks became more substantial, the flames burning fiercely as they glowed orange and red with the small tints of yellow merged between.
"Great Natsu! Now call out a spell." Laxus and Mavis said in union.
LIGHTNING FIRE DRAGON's...ROAR! The fire dragon slayer roared thunderously as half the forest was devastated and incinerated while other unlucky trees caught fire thanks to the lightning strikes causing it all to go up in flames. As he cut off his power conserving his energy, he laughed and grinned at his new potential. "I can't wait to take down stripper with this."
A/N: I know its been a little bit since I released Ch 8 and I wanted to apologize for that, was busy to start June off and then went on vacation for a couple weeks and life is getting busy. I sat down though and finally got this chapter completed and am very happy with how it came out, by far the longest chapter so far coming out at over 7k words. If you hadn't already gotten the hint, for the next chapter or two the story will split into a past and present. It will be between Wendy six years ago in her beginnings with Grimoire Heart and alternate with Natsu six years later with his training of his new form. I hope to have Ch 10 out sooner rather then later, but if I fall behind again you know the reasons why. Always happy to see the new reviews, favorites and followers of this story hope you all are enjoying it as much as I am!
