Three years have passed, and the ex-commander of Nerv finds himself in a very unique situation. Based on events of JimmyWolk's story "The 2nd Try" and "Aki-Chan's Life" sequel comic. Also inspired in part by "Aki-Chan's Life Shorts" by B123.

Post-Rebuild 3.33 - Shinji goes back to the world in which he destroyed and is faced with new situations that do not one was expecting, a world of injustices and errors. Can they fix everything?.

Takes place over a 5 year period. Starts at the beginning of Neon Genesis (NG) but slowly deviates. It's a combination of the NG show, the rebuild movies 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 3.0 1.0 and the comics/manga. The characters start out like normal in NG but they're characteristics/personalities/behaviours will slowly evolve. There will be new characters, places and some events will be altered.

Shinji Is alone now. Did he fail? Why is everything so dirty and grimy? It wasnt his fault, was it? Shinji is alone. Did he kill everyone by getting in the machine? They told him they would die if he didn’t. But they are gone now. What happened?

Few get a second chance at living, let alone two or three. Rei Ayanami never knew what to do with the lives she had until it was too late. Getting another chance at living could mean a world of difference. After all, life is an ever changing thing and even the smallest of changes can reverberate across the world.

"It's shocking how simple it is to tear the world apart, but rebuilding it, that isn't so easy." the older man mused. "I know," the boy replied, that weight in his chest a bit too heavy "I can't remember the last time I wasn't trying to fix it." (Bridge between NGE - Rebuild)

Someone from a similar world enters the lives of Shinji and Asuka, how will this effect them and will it lead to even grander prospects? Inspired by Adam Kadmon's Substitute Invasion.

A comatose Asuka gets a chance to make amends with Shinji in a very saucy way. How will things go?

Genre likely subject to change later on. As we understand that not all things are set in stone, what if what we thought was supposed to happen never does? And what we didn't expect to happen at all begins to happen a lot? No one shows up when they're supposed to, events don't turn out like they're meant to, and the unknown may turn into the new normal for those that can't take it.

Post 3I. Following the Third Impact, Shinji and Asuka try to find a place to call home.
