T-dog makes a different decision on the roof in Atlanta. He decides to risk his life for the man who threatened to kill him hours ago. This choice sets up a string of events that will result in death, life, love, and trust. As the Dixon brothers learn to trust, Shane must come to terms with his best friend being alive and losing the woman and child he loves.

Daryl and Carol say goodbye to their family and head for New Mexico and along the way they find love and meet a new group, but will they be a friend or foe? They also have run ins with walkers and a couple close calls, but ultimately a detour to The Grand Canyon becomes their downfall, but if Daryl's going down he's going down his way, but not before saying goodbye to their family.

Daryl and Morgan head back to Virginia with their new family. The two men must reunite with their friends and show them the men they have become and help their new and old family get to know each other and deal with new problems as they arise as they build their new home and try to save as many people as possible. Trust, will, and love will be put to the test as they return home.
