At first, welcome to the wedding ceremonies of KaiHil and TalaJulie! *Showers myrtles*
Okay, the marriages are included in this chapter with both seriousness and fun. Some of the rituals and vows are taken being inspired from those of Bangladesh (Specially, the ransom part though it happens in Russia too). The Christian style was also put here in the name of Roman style (Why? Because the timeline is before the birth of the Christ) but since it is medieval age, the "Kiss" thingy happened on hand instead of lips because it was public after all! Some traditional terms have also been used. If you fail to recognize any of them, please google it. Thank you!
The grandest wedding-Part 1

My golden-emerald pupils captured the view of Nippon, one of the most beautiful lands of the world as I remained standing on the peak of mount Fuji, folding my arms on my chest in the same way my master did. In front of me, there were the curves and waves of different hills of Japan. The farthest highlands were seeming two-dimensional in my eyes. Their peaks were green and blue in the first light of that day in the sky. Though the sun hadn't risen yet, the darkness was diminishing in the environment bit by bit. The Venus was still visible in the eastern blue, shining brightly in the light azure background. The verdant velvety surface of the ground was appearing slowly. Thousands of cataracts were flowing towards it together in a peaceful rhythm. Leaving this immense beauty, I myself didn't feel to return to Russia. What was the condition of the mind of princess Hilary then?
Yes, it was the day when my master, Kai Hiwatari, the valiant prince of Russia, was going to knot the tie of births and rebirths with Hilary Tachibana, the beautiful, brave, intelligent and righteous princess of Japan. After a few more moments, the people of Nippon would wake up. When they would realize that the very day for which they had been waiting eagerly finally arrived, what would they do? As a sacred beast, I myself was so hyper. So, the condition of the general people could easily be guessed. Already, the birds had started chirping, squirrels and rabbits had started hopping around the thick-rooted trees and the deer had reached the shore of the narrow streaming creek to drink water. Yet, there was no sign of the beginning of the day. O, the sun, why were you being so late to rise on that day? I couldn't wait more for the auspicious moment!
My silky blood tresses slightly blew away from my left ear as I felt tickled. The sudden breeze was soothing, fragrant, belonging to woods and the spring. Immediately, I identified the presence of the second person on mount Fuji without any hassle. Turning my head back, I saw him. The indigo-haired celestial man smiled at me, slightly surprised not seeing me astonished at his abrupt appearance before me. I smiled back at him; he decreased the distance between us getting my approval.
"It's time to leave," I didn't remove my eyes from the natural beauty of Nippon, "I'm returning to Russia."
"You're a sacred beast, Dranzer," He replied, "To you, physical distance is as mere as a rice grain. We can meet each other again whenever we want."
Hey, I'd told him that I would miss Japan! Why was he feeling that I was gonna miss him?
"Dragoon," I asked, "Have all the preparations begun?"
"Glad that you asked," He replied, giving a toothy smile, "My master has already woken up and everything is happening under his supervision."
"W…what?" My jaw dropped in awe, "Ty…Tyson woke up before the sunrise? Are you kidding with me, Dragoon?"
"I'm serious, Dranzer," Dragoon crossed his arms on his chest, "If you cannot believe, go and see it yourself before your own eyes."
"I'll obviously see it," I smirked, "After all, Dranzer's eyes can never avoid such a legendary moment."
"Well, the weddings are going to take place soon," The dragon stretched a hand towards me, "Shall we go?"
"Hm," I nodded, "Let's go."
The bluish white light of the new dawn was falling on the platform, washing the earthen yard of the palace. Sunflowers blooming in queues by the sides of the patch were waiting for the sun to rise so that they could open their eyes along with it. The fresh waft blowing in the beginning of the day was playing with their golden-yellow petals. Birds, kohl bumblebees and butterflies had already woken up. They were roaming around those flowers and rubbing their beaks against the trees on their branches, preparing to sing the welcoming song of a new day as well as the fresh starts of four new lives. So were the noblemen and noblewomen of Japan and America ready for the arrangements, gathering there. The blunette was advising them, keeping his hands on his waist and all other were listening to him very attentively.
"Max, Raul, Dew, Charlotte and Mariam," He spoke, "You five will wait for the wedding party at the gate. Make it sure, there should be no lack of hospitality and cordiality to receive them."
"There won't be," The female blunette shook her head, "But let us get the ransom at first!"
"Yes!" Everyone squealed, "Before ransom, we'll do nothing!"
"Ransom! Ransom!"
"Okay okay…." Tyson stopped them, "But don't force them excessively. As far as I know, Kai and Tala won't mind that much but their brothers are haughty sometimes."
"Yeah," The male Spaniard agreed, "If brother-in-law Kai weren't there, I would surely be doomed!"
"Hahaha….." Max slapped on his shoulder, "But lucky you are to land on a soft and comfortable place, Raul. You should thank brother-in-law Tala for it."
"Max…" Raul gave him a nasty look, "If you were in my shoes, you could understand."
"You're so naïve, Raul," The blonde tittered, "You need to have the knowledge of managing the circumstances. Just look at me, how stealthily I prevented one of them from flirting with my lover!"
Mariam blushed brightly as others mustered around him, "Hey! What did you do?"
"I thought you were innocent!"
"Woah, that's called, 'The smaller, the spicier.'"
"I-I…." Max scratched his head, finding no word to utter all of a sudden, "Uh…I did…."
"Will you all shut up for a while?" The orange-haired girl was annoyed, "We gathered here to arrange the plans, didn't we?"
"Emily!" The female blunette squealed, suddenly recalling something, "Where did my earring vanish from the maidens' night?"
"Huh?" The American girl gulped, stuttering, "Well…...h...how should I know that?"
"You don't know it?" Mariam frowned, "Last night, you came to dance beside me. After it, my earring seemed missing."
"I noticed it!" The purplette leapt, "Everyone was absorbed in enjoying the dance. But I followed every move of Emily and Mari ni-chan. Emily lifted the earring and threw it somewhere!"
"And you were silent?" Everybody shouted, making the purple-haired girl sweatdrop nervously.
"Well…I thought it wouldn't be nice to interrupt the beautiful dance of my sisters…." Dew bit her lips, "So…."
"Hmph!" Mariam grouched, "You'll also get punishment for it, Dew. It is…"
"Dancing with Tyson!" Charlotte clapped, "Again!"
The dragoon-wielder and the mauve-haired flushed equally and gasped as others joined the applause. I couldn't help appreciating the princess of America more for her legendary idea. Behind the bush, the blue dragon was making dreamy eyes which were absolutely funny. But I understood his feelings. After all, both our emotions regarding our masters and their partners were same.
"Ah!" Dragoon imagined, "When will master and mistress Dew get married? I cannot wait anymore!"
"Be patient, Dragoon," I muttered, "They're still babies."
"Whaaat?" I had to bite my tongue after the reaction of my co-spirit, "They are babies? What are prince Hiwatari and princess Hilary then? Old couple?"
"They're ageless, ever-young," I narrowed my eyes at him, "You worry only of Tyson and princess Dew, Dragoon."
"I'm doing it…." He hung his face but at the next moment, it flashed, "But see, how skillfully my master is managing everything and directing everyone!"
"Why not?" I snickered, "After all, he's the bestman of my master! Hehehe…."
"Whatever…" He made a side-pout.
"But…if I don't admit this, it'll be a grave sin. Tyson has surely grown up and become mature during these days," I remarked to cheer him up, eyeing the navy-haired guy who was enthusiastically giving directives to everyone like a true leader, "Now, he understands everything. Princess Dew is lucky enough, right?"
"Not luckier than I," Dragoon spoke, "I myself am a storm, he's another storm."
"Together, you both will ravage everything!" I laughed.
"If needs be."
Not speaking more, I paid attention to the conversation of the boys and girls. Emily and Mariam were still fighting about the earring, totally forgetting actually who the real culprit had been. Charlotte and Dew were giggling quietly, covering their mouths under their palms. Nervous, Tyson and Raul were watching the quarrelling duo. Mariam's tone was earsplitting but the orange-haired was calm in this case. The fight could take a serious form soon. Specially, the blunette was looking more aggressive. The person for whom the chaos took place could also be seen nearby, goofily smiling and trying to avoid the situation cleverly.
"Wait!" Emily huffed, "We are fighting between ourselves without any reason. Why not to capture the actual criminal and punish him?"
Max glowered at his childhood friend. Nah, Emily couldn't be believed easily. She was so clever in these cased. How did Max forget it?
"Yes!" Mariam jumped, "I agree with you, Mily! Let's punish Max!"
"Umm…." The hyperactive blonde swallowed, "What should I do?"
"Well…I have a plan!" Tyson hit it upon, "Wanna listen?"
"Sure!" Everyone agreed as they gathered around a circle together. After Tyson had completed his whisperings, most of them burst out laughter. The face of the blonde American turned red. He was so shocked that he forgot to protest against this plan of the blunette.
"Max will look so good!" Emily pressed her mouth, "We're experienced, ah?"
"If oni-chan gets to know it once," Dew rubbed her palms together, "You'll be doomed, Max ni-san."
"He deserves it," Mariam winked at her lover, "Don't worry much about him, Dew-chan."
"Besides, it's a culture of Japan which we will modify a bit," Tyson added, "So, I don't think that Tala and Kai will mind much if we do it. But the problem is…"
"Their fiery cousins," Max gulped, "They are scarier than ghosts!"
"Hey!" Raul objected, "Don't say like that!"
"Why?" Max blinked, "Oh sorry, I forgot. Okay, let me rephrase: One of them is as fierce as Goddess Athena. Now alright?"
Again, another storm of laughter passed across the young people as the twin-haired male pouted simply, "Hmph!"
"Let it go, everyone," Tyson waved his hand, "So Max, have you understood what you have to do?"
"Is it a question of asking?" The blonde sighed, seeing no other way except accepting the punishment given by his friends, "I have, Tyson. You can count on me."
"Okay, good luck then," Chuckling, the dragoon-wielder showed his thumb to his friend, "So, team, have you all received and understood your duties?"
"Yes leader!" Everyone chorused.
"Hm," Tyson nodded satisfactorily, "Emily, you have to sing today in the post-wedding ceremony. It's a request."
"I've already prepared the lyrics, Tyson," The orange-haired girl popped out a scroll, "Now, I have only to set the tunes. I was thinking to sing it duet with Max. Mariam, do you have any objection?"
"Yes, I have!" The female blunette shrieked, "Max sings like a donkey. Emily, you had better choose any other male partner for it."
"What?" Max wrinkled his brows, seeing his childhood friend tittering, "I sing like a donkey? And how do you sing? Do you sing like a nightingale? Or is it the revenge?"
"Mariam, stop teasing him," Emily ceased grinning, "He sings quite good. Moreover, the lyrics of the song is humorous. So, his voice will suit better."
"Okay then," Mariam spoke, "But don't cough or sneeze while singing."
"Thanks." Max sarcastically said.
"Alright, team," Tyson stepped back and clapped above, "Get engaged!"
When the boys and girls were returning to the rooms, we came out of the bushes only for meeting another bunch of ageless men and women. They all were looking at us suspiciously as if we had been emerging from the woods after committing any serious crime. Though they were much familiar to both of us, don't know why but we were also getting the vibes of being arrested or caught. Dragoon quickly hid behind me, whispering, "Dranzer, save my day, darling."
Darling? Was he pouring oil in a pyre? Control your tongue, Dragoon!
"So, you both were loving each other here," The silver-haired girl fumed, "And we were searching for you almost rummaging through the entire Japan."
"We? Loving each other?" Both I and Dragoon frowned as if we both had been born only at that moment, knowing nothing of the cruel world. Since when had I started being fond of the azure dragon of the east? No idea.
"Okay, don't need to pretend as saints," Draciel grinned, "The sun is about to rise, have you both noticed it?"
"So, what should we do?" Dragoon crossed his arms on his chest, "We aren't the morning birds to sing and wake the Japanese up. If Dranzer wants, she can do it but I don't think she'll be able to do it because her songs are more effective than lullabies."
"Dragoon!" I snapped, "Will you stop mocking me for a while?"
"Told ya," The peacock whispered, "They both fight like an old couple."
Nah, they all were driving me mad. I'd never known that these sacred beasts could be so wicked at times. Believe me, hadn't it been the wedding ceremony of my master, I would surely have turned all of them into piles of ashes with the flows of my lava. Yes, including Dragoon. Hmph!
"You'll get blown away, Dranzer," Dragoon whispered in my ear, "Don't try to be cunning with me."
Shit! He read my mind! I couldn't help biting my tongue again.
"Well, we cannot stay here idly without doing anything," The wolf spoke, "We have to also help them in the tasks and arrangements. Dragoon and Draciel, disguise yourselves as workers and help Tyson and other boys decorate the alter and other places. Pavoria, Thunder Pegasus-you both go to the pantry and help the chefs cook the dishes. Thunder Pegasus will take care of the appetizers and the spicy foods and Pavoria will manage the desserts and drinks. Dranzer and I will perform the crowning ritual of the grooms and dress-up the brides."
"Sounds interesting." I supported Wolvia and sighed in relief secretively. Thank goodness, Wolvia's company was better than that of someone else. At least, these beasts wouldn't taunt me to the end of this world if I stayed with Wolvia instead of him. Phew….
"Okay then," Dragoon nodded, "Everyone, let's get busy."
Chortling once, all the beasts left the place except me. I kept my eyes in the east. The sun of the new day was rising bit by bit. It was pouring the beads of blood in the bluish light of the dawn, turning it into morning. The gentle crimson glow was spreading all over the sky, coloring the spongy cotton clouds scattered there. The petals of the sunflowers spread all around the stems, squinting at the risen star of daylight. Bumblebees and butterflies became busier to gather honey from them. Finally, the morning birds opened their mouths and activated their vocal cords as seven heavens streamed down from their throats, enlightening the day. Soon, the people of Japan would wake up and celebrate the largest festival in their kingdom ever.
I took a sharp breath. These marriages weren't only for cherishing the love between my master and princess Hilary or prince Tala and princess Julia. They had deep meanings and greater significance. The auspicious event wouldn't only compose a new life for these couples but also change the whole world. These nuptials would play a vital role which would enlighten the future. Maybe, a lot of struggles and conflicts would block the ways of the couples. Yet, they would have to stay strong. At any cost, under any circumstance, they shouldn't leave the side of their partners. To the general people, they were festivals. To me and other spirits, these weddings were the sunrise of the new day of a new world. They were the beginning point of a bright future.
"Dranzer…." Wolvia kept a hand on my shoulder, "Let's go. We're getting late."
"Hm…" I broke the silence, nodding, "Let's go."
The gypsum walls of the vast cabana had large windows, touching the floor from the roof and having Moroccan gaps through which the morning sunlight seeped in. Fragrant wax-lights melted in the quartz chalices; their tiny flames added luminosity to the daylight smearing the marble floor; kettles produced aromatic smokes. The sticks of gladiola were nicely arranged in golden vases on the tables. There, both the would-be brides were taking shower. Maids and other girls were applying turmeric and sandalwood paste on their slim fair arms, slightly rosy cheeks, pitcher-like necks, slender legs and smooth feet. The blunette brushed their silky, thick and long hair with the mixture of lemon juice and soap-nut powder gently and the purple-haired girl smeared their lips with pasted rose petals.
"Rub those lips well, sister Dew," Charlotte winked, "They should look beautiful in the eyes of our brothers-in-law. Am I right, Mariam?"
"Absolutely!" The American and the Japanese shared a hi-five as the brides veered their eyes down, blushing. The girls became busy in singing and the maid poured rose petal-mixed warm milk, then scented tepid water on the princesses. It washed the streaks of the pastes from their skins and made them glow brighter than the sunlight. The drenched strapless robe clung to their bodies, wet locks hugged their cheeks, jaws and half-open backs. Feminine beauty stunned all over them, they blossomed like camellias and marigolds getting watered. The fragrant liquid washing them lost its aroma to their fragrance. Surrounding them, the rest of the royal girls stood up and danced, keeping them at the center.
Get dressed up, my dear friend,
You have to go with your groom,
For you both, the marital home is the same,
You both have to go there soon….
After completing the bath and applying sweet-smelling serums on their faces, arms and legs, both the girls got dressed in plain sleeveless light-pink and light-yellow robes, wiping their wet bodies with cotton towels. Still, water beads were oozing from their unbound hair and tresses. The maids approached the princesses with silver steamers from which hot vapors were coming out. Placing them under their hair, the servants started drying them. Other beauticians started brushing the chocolate, orange and coffee locks with the combs made of the tusks of elephants. The brides kept trudging towards their dressing room, trampling the red and yellow cotton runners. Suddenly, they stopped as an orange-haired girl stopped in front them, rushing and panting as if she'd been in such a hurry. The brides exchanged confused stares, understanding nothing.
"Emily?" The chocolate-haired girl asked, "What happened? Why're you panting?"
"Hilary…." Still, her breaths were unstable, "Pardon me…but you both must know this news before stepping in the alter."
The enthusiasm of the girls lessened slightly as the brides frowned. But Emily's face was still holding a stern appearance. She wouldn't let the princesses go anywhere before announcing the information in front of them.
"What's it, Emily?" Julia put her hands on her hips, "We have taken bath just now and we have to get ready. Soon, the wedding party will arrive here. Why are you stopping us?"
"Because…" The American bit her lips, "Well, you mayn't want to go to the alter if you learn this once, Hilary and Julia. Besides, the news is so terrible that I don't think you will be able to accept it."
Both the hearts of the brides jerked, they gulped. Other girls also gasped, covering their mouths and looking at one another surprisingly.
"What's wrong, Emily?" Hilary managed it somehow, "Why're you hesitating to tell us?"
"Well…" The orangette coughed, "Together with lady Kincaid, I studied the scriptures which possess the positions of the stars and planets, composed on the occasion of your births. According to them…"
"What according to them?" The Spaniard felt restless.
"You…you both…" Emily stammered to utter the truth, "You both won't…be happy…in your married lives!"
Abruptly, a tiny bolt of thunder boomed above everyone's head there with the harsh announcement. Both the would-be brides stepped back, flinching badly. The joyous environment became gloomy within no moment with the declaration of a bitter truth. Emily bent her head down, feeling that only she was responsible for it. But too late it had been, her words had been shot at the hearts of the brides like arrows. Now, they couldn't be brought back.
"Hey…." Mariam protested at first, "What the hell are you saying, Emily? Such an ominous news on an auspicious occasion like this?"
"The truth doesn't know the difference between good moments and bad moments, Mari," The orangette conversed, "I'm so sorry if it's hurtful but believe me, I had no other way because hiding the truth is a sin. The truth should be exposed as soon as possible."
"Emily…" Hilary nonchalantly asked, "What does your counting say about me?"
"Hilary, I hate to say this…." The American astrologer replied, "But according to my studies, you'll have separation from your husband after your marriage. More than once."
Folding her lips in, the brunette bent her head down as all the girls crimped together, "Oh no!"
"Julia…." Emily continued, "You'll also have to tolerate a lot of hassles and miseries but in the end, the thrones of the queen and queen-mother of Russia will be waiting for you."
"What?"
The twin-haired Spanish girl's eyes went wide-open. Astonishment glimmered in her jades more than happiness or satisfaction. Her brunette cousin gave her a congratulating smile but the rest of the ladies couldn't digest the fact easily.
"But…." Julia herself remonstrated, "Brother-in-law Kai is the crown-prince of Russia, isn't he? He's also the future king of that kingdom too. Then, Hilary should be the future empress and the queen-mother. Why me, Emily?"
"Julia, the curvy paths of the destiny are mysterious," The orangette sadly sneered, "We don't know where they lead us."
"But…." The dual-haired girl sighed. Soon, she looked at her cousin whose hand was right on her shoulder. She gave her an assuring look, nodding.
"Julia, neither I have the greed for a kingdom, nor do I crave for the crown and the throne of the empress," She spoke, "I just wanted the company of Hiwatarian in my life. But…."
Stopping for a while, she restarted, "Still, it's alright, Emily. The fate may separate us physically but our souls are bound to each other forever. Let alone fate, the deaths and rebirths won't be able to detach us. I know…I know that I'll reside in his heart no matter how far I go from him. Same goes for me regarding his presence in my heart, Emily. We both have each other right by the side of each other always. That's enough for us."
"Maybe in the next life too….." The orangette stopped, not completing her words.
"I don't bother," Hilary's garnet pools beamed with tears but she clenched her teeth so that they couldn't fall down, "Emily, true love gives us freedom. It doesn't bind our hands and feet. If our love is true, we'll reconcile again, somewhere down the lane."
"I agree with, Hilary, Emily," Julia nodded furiously, "No matter what happens, now, we cannot retreat. We both have loved the princes of Russia. Now, it's impossible for us to sacrifice that love only for our better future and safety. Whatever will happen to us will heartily be accepted by us."
Emily stared at the girls for a few moments. Then, her eyes got filled with the waterworks as she sniffed.
"Julia, Hilary," She breathed, "The brave aren't those who can kill one thousand warriors at a time. The brave are those who can accept the truth wholeheartedly even after knowing the consequences. You both are very courageous and determined. Never have I seen such courage and determination in any other woman in my life. May girls like you be born everywhere in this world. After knowing your decision, I don't have the right to stop you. So, step forward and bravely confront whatever the destiny has prepared for you."
"Thanks for wishing us, Emily," Hilary smiled with tearful eyes, "We're ready. We will receive all the offerings of the fate that will be showered on us."
All the Russian young men were in the guest chamber, getting dressed for the wedding ceremony. In front of the parabolic mirror of the elephant-tusk dressing table, my master and prince Tala were sitting on round tools. They had already completed their bath. Still, the smell of rose water was coming from the body of the phoenix-prince. Like pearl beads, water globules were still sticking to his slate-blue bangs, slightly covering his forehead. The redhead wasn't caring much, brushing his hair with a linear wooden comb and drying his beloved hair with the help of a metal steamer which was held by a Japanese slave near his head. The rest of the Russian princes were fighting among themselves about what they should wear. I had never seen any man so conscious about his attires since the beginning of this world. Man, sometimes they could be so childish!
"What? Yukata top?" The loud screams of Ian gave me a headache, "Are you crazy, Bry? The farmers of Japan wear them! Do you want me to look like a Japanese farmer?"
"C'mon Ian, it will suit you," The falcon-prince forcefully slid the hand of his cousin in the sleeve of the Japanese costume, "The color is also better on your skin."
"Keep your stupid fashion senses to yourself!" The carrot-nosed yelled, "I am not going to wear this thing! Hmph!"
"Poor Ian…." Spencer mocked, "No matter how nicely he dresses up, he will always look like a joker. Leave it, Bry."
"Whaaat?!" I wished I could have slapped Ian twice for this level of extremity of his voice, "What do you think of yourself? Have you looked at your reflection on the mirror ever? You're a giant! A big giant!"
"These boors…." Kai muttered under his breaths.
"As if they were going to get married…" Tala cursed, "Not us."
"Hmm….." The slate-haired prince cleared his throat, "Someone is seeming so eager to get married."
"Kai!" Tala went red, "Look, my marriage was fixed after yours! So, it's my right to tease you, not yours to me. Got it?"
Hahaha….the depth of the bond between my master and prince Tala was something beyond imaginations. They were more than brothers and best friends to each other. Tala left no stone unturned to tease my master. Whenever the hot-headedness of the redhead fumed up, prince Kai had to cool it down. That's why, Wolvia was my best friend. Thanks to the unbreakable bond between our masters, only to her, I could turn myself open and share everything.
Pushing the door open, an aged redhead entered the chamber as everyone stood up, bowing before him. Tala approached him as he placed his hands on the shoulders of the younger.
"Cannot believe!" The nobleman exclaimed, "Whenever I close my eyes, I can only see that son of me whom I used to give back-rides. Today, he's going to get married. And what else should I say about you, Kai? In my eyes, you're still the same toddler who used to run after your aunt for sweets."
Really, how time does fly! I could still remember how I had stopped the meeting of my master and princess Hilary in their childhood and erased their memories. So what? Who has been successful to change the fate in this world after all?
"Before dressing up, the crowning ceremony will begin," Tala's father spoke, "For it, we have hired two unmarried young priestesses. They both will crown you for the wedding ceremony and bless you. Honorable ladies, you may come in."
We both entered the compartment with slow and steady footsteps. We were wearing yellow kimonos with maroon belts around our waists under sleeveless long brown cotton jackets like the traditional Japanese nuns. Olive-green veils covered our hair which was tied into high buns and decorated with some wild flowers. Both our hands had the bamboo baskets of florets. Stepping in, we bowed to the grooms as they bent their heads down to us back. Seeing it, my heart shivered. What a sinner I was! The man under whose feet I should have offered the whole world me lowered his head before me! Where should I have kept all my embarrassment then?
"Stay blessed, princes," Wolvia raised a hand and told them to sit, "Actually, crowning you both before your wedding ceremonies is really a matter of fortune for both of us."
We approached the grooms and took the golden and silver coronets studded with sapphires and rubies from the nearest table. After sprinkling the flowers on them, when we placed them on the heads of our masters, brushing their hair properly with wooden combs, the chains and tassels fell on their foreheads, playing with their red and slate-blue bangs. Kneeling down, we took the nuptial wristbands weaved with blue and golden, red and silver threads from the golden plate and tied them around the left wrists of the princes. Closing my eyes, I lifted the same hand of my master and leaned my forehead against it respectfully. My tears touched his skin which covered his arteries. He became surprised a bit at this act of me but I didn't care.
"O, the prince of Russia," I spoke, "Have a successful and happy married life. Without this, I couldn't give anything to you as your wedding gift. Please, pardon me."
"Consider us as your obedient servants," The wolf added, standing up, "We'll always be there for you whenever you need. Now bid us farewell."
"May your blissful eyes remain always fixed at us." My master also stood up, bowing again which embarrassed me for the second time. Smiling faintly back at them, we greeted them and left the chamber. The princes stared at our departure for a while blankly as if a sudden storm had ravaged everything in the compartment.
"Ugh…." Their meditation broke as the dragoon-wielder came there at the right time, carrying two large and heavy trays of attires and ornaments in his two hands, "I'm extremely sorry for being so late. The arrangements in the wedding hall were so hectic…hey! What happened? Why are you all staring at me in this way?"
"Nothing…." Kai moved back at the dressing table and looked at his wrist which had been soaked in my tears, 'Don't know why but I think it is the purest of all water in this world….'
The girls' chamber was hotter than the boys', fiery and lively with the chit-chat of the young ladies. Everyone was in front of the round mirrors of the metal dressing tables, getting dressed and adorned. All were tweeting like cheerful birds and having friendly banters. Since princess Dew and princess Charlotte were younger, the others were making them work and bring this and that. They didn't mind, enjoying the unofficial duties of being the younger siblings. The fragrant steams of the silver kettles filled the environment. But Hilary Tachibana, the princess of Japan, one of the brides, was working hard to help her cousins and friends, not able to concentrate on her own adornments. With jewelries and cosmetics, she was running here and there, leaving her hair half-bound, still in her light-pink robe.
"Hilary!" Julia called, "I cannot find another earring! Where's it?"
"Wait…" Reaching the golden jewelry-box of the Spanish princess, the brunette rummaged through it and found the earring out within no moment.
"Hehehe…." The Spaniard nervously smiled, "Thanks."
"Hilary!" The female blunette yelled, "Where're the orange roses that I plucked today to dress my hair?"
"They're at the right side, kept in the comb-pot." Hilary replied.
"Thanks!"
The chocolate-haired princess of Japan was about to go back to her table but the youngest brunette held her hand, "Sister Hilary, please braid my hair. The maids cannot do it as perfectly as you."
"Okay, Charlotte-chan…" Not protesting or refuting her cousin, she took Charlotte to her desk and intertwined her velvety coffee hair perfectly, pinning pearl beads in it. Checking her appearance on the mirror, the American princess squealed, "Thank you so much, sister Hilary!"
"You're welcome…." No sooner had the Japanese finished her words than someone blurted surprisingly, "Hilary! Haven't you got ready yet?"
Looking back at the door, she discovered her mother and aunts standing with their hands on their hips. Gulping, she smiled, "Mother, aunt Fumika, aunt Judy-you all are here?"
"The wedding party has already left for the alter," The queen slapped on her shoulder, "What were you doing?"
"So sorry, mother…." Dew held her ears, "Oni-chan has no fault in this. We all were pestering her to get us ready. That's why…."
"Holy lord!" Fumika laughed, "Despite the presence of all you girls here, Hilary hasn't been adorned yet? Such an irony!"
"Our Hilary is always like that," Judy remarked, "Since her childhood, I saw her preferring her cousins and friends to herself always. Why are you being so surprised?"
"Well….two nuns came here to meet you," Sayoko stepped aside as I entered the room with Wolvia, bowing at the young noblewomen. When princess Hilary returned the bow, I again felt ashamed. Princess, you were going to be my mistress. You didn't need to do it!
"Don't worry," Wolvia assured the queen, "We both will adorn the brides. You all can count on us; we'll be fast but perfect."
"Thanks a lot, dear ladies," The queen huffed, "Please be quick. Soon, the ceremonies will take place."
Taking the comb, I started brushing the silky brown hair of princess Hilary. Dressing neatly, the girls again chorused:
O, the brides! Offering turmeric and scented oil,
We color your palms and feet with red soil.
Decorating the temples so the grooms can't blink,
We'll make the kohl in your eyes fink,
The love you have. It will get exposed soon,
After all, you both have to go with your groom.
The procession came out with utmost gorgeousness. The luminosity of the party almost defeated the sun blistering in the sky. The drummers were banging their drums hard in two rows by the flower-adorned road and series of tall trees, trying white and red cloths around their foreheads. Musicians were playing flutes and other instruments. Their harmony chimed together in the ears of the young people leading the wedding party. Priests were sprinkling holy water with the tip of mango leaves at them so that their journey could be auspicious. The elders were behind it, calm and cool. Two horses were there too, adorned with golden reins and silver blinkers. On one of their faces, red phoenixes were painted and another was decorated with the tattoos of silver wolves.
On the backs of those stallions, the grooms were sitting, holding the harnesses. The phoenix-prince wore a sleeveless dark blue kosovortka coat where golden quatrefoils were embroidered with four-petaled flowers at the centers and gold-rimmed blue buttons on the chest, reaching his knees, over the full-sleeved white shirt with cream damask patterns. The tops fitted his mesomorphic chest and diaphragm perfectly, displaying his brawny biceps a bit. Light gold pants were tucked in navy-blue boots. The white cape covered his shoulders, using an aquamarine as the chestpin at the collars. Auric wristcuffs bound his wrists which had also navy fingerless gloves, exposing his well-built fingers, not letting the auspicious thread become invisible. The waistbelt was made of pure gold. Aureate coronet studded with a sapphire fastened his slate bangs and indigo backside hair crossing his neck, the chains falling on his smooth temple and the circlet made of blue topaz. Golden earrings stuck to his ears, not large at all. The contrast of white and dark blue made his milky tone blossom like a jasmine in a forest, tranquil, aromatic, yet, resplendent. Amethyst orbs were peaceful like the fresh mint perfume of his cloths. Under the unfolded mauve umbrella held by the dragoon-wielder, he was looking like a deity.
Suddenly, don't know why, I started feeling jealous of princess Hilary a bit. Damn, why hadn't I been born on the earth as a human being like her?
"Dranzer!" Wolvia pinched me, "Come back to senses! He's your master, not your beloved!"
"Opps…sorry…." I bit my tongue, "But…where are your eyes, Via?"
The wolf blushed madly. Yeah, prince Tala was also looking very striking in the sleeveless dark-orange Russian coat, silver-rimmed dark blue buttons on the chest-line, imprinted with silver quatrefoils over the white shirt streaked with violet matelassé designs. Knee-length orange boots covered some parts of his glimmering gray pants. Lustrous white waistband bound his midriff and broad pewter bracelets seized his wrists. Flint earrings hugged his ears, silver coronate studded with rubies bound his crimson bangs, letting the tussocks of chains fall on his forehead which was holding another coin-colored circlet, embellished with a fire opal. The bright colors like orange and red were making his snowflake complexion shimmer, giving fiery vibes. Icy orbs gleamed, spreading the perfume of mountain mists. Under the white Japanese umbrella held by Spencer and riding the wolf-painted stallion, he wasn't looking less charming than any other guy, frankly speaking. But in the end, my master was my master, shining like the sun and outshining everyone else skillfully.
"Dranzer," She didn't remove her gapes, "Have you ever seen roses blossoming from the snow-covered ground?"
"Yeah," I nodded, "What about you, Via? Have jasmines ever bloomed in the sky with golden leaflets?"
"Why not?" The wolf snickered, "In front of our eyes, of course!"
We kept laughing and following the joyful wedding party as it reached the wedding gates. The hyperactive American, his little sister, the purple-haired princess, the female blunette and the dual-haired Spaniard were guarding it. The orange-haired American was decorating the wooden round table with a square-shaped silver tray and the bowls of sweets. On the tray, there were at least four or five crystal goblets, having different-colored liquids. As the chief bridesmaid, Dew was holding the golden veneration platter with flowers and lamp. Mariam held the circular glass salver filled with water and a Japanese bamboo fan. In Raul's hand, there was a copper bottle of rose water. All the arrangements of welcoming the grooms were done accurately. But when the wedding party was about to pass through the entrance, the American boy and the female blunette obstructed them, stretching their palms.
"Halt!" Max blurted.
The Russian princes screwed their brows and noses at it. Nonetheless, getting the motive of the brides' party, Kai and Tala simply smirked and got down from their stallions.
"Huh?" The falcon-prince cocked a brow, "Is it a way to welcome the groom party in Japan?"
"Let's assume that we have forgotten our culture," Dew shrugged, "Maybe or not in Nippon, but according to the Russian rules, it's a tradition for the groom party to pay a ransom in order to enter the wedding hall."
"O, purple-haired beauty," Ian dreamily spoke which literally put fire in Tyson's blood as the latter gritted his grips, "You think that we'll measure the price of our precious sisters-in-law in the scale of coins?"
"Not at all, buddy," Max shook his head, "Our brothers-in-law will only bless their brothers and sisters-in-law with these tokens of love and affection."
"Look boy," Spencer put his hands by the sides of his waist, still unable to forget the defeat of the last night to the younger blonde, "We're hungry. Let us go."
"We're also saying the same thing, prince," Charlotte retorted, "Let us receive the money and yourselves enter the hall. Why're you troubling both of us in this way?"
"You cannot make a woman stand here like this!" The only sister of the Russian princes pouted, getting tired.
"Sure thing, my lady," Max agreed with her, "I'll bring a chair here for you so that you can keep sitting here but nope! You aren't going anywhere else. Raul! Bring a chair for the beautiful princess of Russia!"
"Yes leader!" Saluting, the twin-haired Spaniard vanished inside the palace and returned with a chair after a while. Placing it before the Russian princess, he offered, dramatically pointing at the seat, "Bless me by receiving it, princess."
Her brothers growled in unison but strangely, the red-haired princess didn't mind. Blushing and smiling gently at Raul, she sat on the chair in a royal pose which sent jolts to the heart of the matador prince.
"So," Dew demanded, "First bribe, then bride."
"No!" Bryan opposed, "First bride, then bribe."
"First bribe, then bride!" The bride's party squealed.
"First bride, then bribe!" The cousins of the grooms also didn't give up.
"Enough!"
With this one word of the phoenix-prince, everyone completely shut up. Glancing all over the environment, the son-in-law of Japan slid his hand in the pocket of his coat and took it out with a small jute sack filled with gold coins. Keeping it on the hand of the blonde, he gave a small smile. Since the bride's party received the token, a small storm of exultation rose among them as they leapt, trying to snatch the coins from Max's hands.
"Hey, calm down!" Max almost threw the bag to Tyson who caught it effortlessly, "Tyson will divide it equally among us. Since he's the bestman, it will remain to him. Okay?"
"Understood," Mariam nodded, "But we thought that two weddings would take place today here. So, there should be two grooms, right?"
Getting the point, everyone turned the eyes at the redhead who was completely clueless. He thought that his cousin would save him. But destroying his hopes within no moment, nearing him, Kai whispered in his ear, "Satisfy your brothers and sisters-in-law, Tala."
"Well…." He scratched his hair, "I wasn't prepared for it...you know…"
"Then, I have nothing to do." Shrugging, the phoenix-prince moved away. All the members from the bride's party burst out laughing together at the foolishness of the wolf-prince. With annoyed eyes, the Russian princes looked at Tala, silently chiding him, 'What the hell have you done?'
"I knew that you would surely do something like it, brother Tala," Natasha left the chair, "That's why, I was prepared."
Untying the sack of gold coins from her waistbelt, she handed it to the twin-haired Spanish prince, "Take it, prince. On the behalf of my brother it is."
"You're such an intelligent and caring princess," Stupidly smiling, Raul accepted the bag. Sighing in relief, Bryan asked, "Now we can surely enter, right?"
"Nope, not now," Mariam refuted the falcon-prince, directing at the tray of drinks and sweets, "At first, the grooms have to accept the light refreshments kept here. Specially, the drinks."
"But," Max added, "The grooms themselves have to choose the drinks."
"Kai, Tala, be careful," Tyson muttered, "They are the tricks of these brats."
"Hey!" Dew snarled, "Whom are you supporting actually, you imposter?"
"Oops…sorry…." Tyson bit his tongue, getting red and rebuked by his girlfriend.
Kai carefully checked all the glasses and colors. Closing his eyes, he sniffed, trying to take the scent of the beverages. Then, lifting a green one, he took a sip. It tasted sweet, sour and spicy at the same time, making the mouth of the phoenix-prince water and satisfying his tongue. Giving a smile, he put down the drink.
"Looks like brother-in-law Kai has enjoyed his drink," Max announced, "But what about brother-in-law Tala? Let him choose one!"
Again, the redhead gave a baffled look at his dual-haired cousin who simply shot him with his infamous death glares. Bryan nudged the wolf-prince, "Hey, will you look at Kai in the same way in the middle of your wedding vows?"
Laughter stormed around the environment again as sighing, the redhead became attentive to find out the correct drink. Poking at his shoulder, the phoenix-prince showed him a chalice containing a crystal red liquid.
"Thanks." Taking the drinking pot, no sooner had the redhead took a sip than his face turned redder than his hair. He felt as if someone had put fire on the taste buds of his tongue. Unexpectedly, hot smokes started coming out through his nostrils and ears. Pointing his tongue out, he quickly kept the goblet on the same table and panted. Tears trickled on his cheeks seeing which everyone laughed including the members of the groom party. Even the phoenix-prince also tried to hide his amusement, coughing twice. With fiery icy orbs, Tala glared at his cousin.
"What?" Kai shrugged, "I just told you not to drink from that but you didn't listen to me."
"Oh my….." Max clutched his stomach, "Brother-in-law Kai is savage! He's really the best!"
"Hah…I'll…hah… remember it…hah…" Giving a side-pout, Tala huffed for fresh air.
"Anyways," Max spoke, "Enough with these things. Girls, welcome the grooms and let them in."
Holding the veneration platter, Dew approached her brothers-in-law and sprinkled the rose petals on them as Mariam showered the rose water beads from the silver plate, flapping the Japanese fan. The sounds of the instruments became louder but it soothed the ears of the people instead of giving them a headache. All the maids threw myrtles on the grooms. Making them sip sweetened Sakura tea, she fed them Sakura mochis from wooden bowls and cups with dark ligneous spoons. Then, the grooms and the members of the grooms' party entered the hall. Natasha was behind them. Utilizing the chance, the Spanish prince stood before her, not letting her go.
"What now?" The Russian princess furrowed her brows, annoyed at his recurrent antiques, "Your thirst of disturbing me hasn't fulfilled yet, right?"
"Princess, actually..." He lowered his gazes embarrassedly, "I'm extremely sorry for my deeds yesterday. I should've been more careful."
"Hm…I see…." Natasha folded her arms, "But I won't forgive you easily. You have to pay for it."
"What?" Raul gulped, "What…what do you want to do with me, princess?"
Looking here and there, the redhead snatched the kettle of rose water from the hands of the Matador prince and poured it all on the head of the Spaniard, not giving him a chance to realize. Dropping it, she giggled, "Now, I'm satisfied. Thanks!"
Leaving him baffled, she ran through the lobbies to enter the wedding hall. Raul wiped his hair and face which were smelling like roses then. He was so confused that he didn't know how he should react after it. Unknowingly, he guessed why Tyson had been spreading the aroma of lavender perfume. Scratching his head and blushing fifty shades of red, he followed the female redhead.
Though it was the hall of the grandest wedding happened ever in Japan, it was not looking less gorgeous than heaven's court. Bunches of white and red roses were attached to the marble composite pillars and the vines of white marigolds were wrapped around them with georgette ribbons. The walls were painted with ancient Japanese artworks. Red velvet runners with golden fringes were laid on the way to the pewter podium which was decorated with silver candle-stands, holding lit fragrant candles. Different-colored gerberas covered the four sides of the rectangular stage, keeping two blue soft-textured golden couches at the center. The background of the pedestal, painted in white and golden, was adorned with silk curtains and wall-torches. Metal lamp-stands were organized in two straight chains, occupying the crystal hurricane lamps. Flamboyant wooden bowls on the dais had translucent water having the images of the quartz chandeliers and the colorful origami artworks hanging from the dome-shaped roof, containing pink-white lotuses and aromatic floating candles. Chairs made of the noble metals were kept between every two of the hurricane-stands.
The seats for the elder men and women were arranged upstairs from where they could easily view the ceremonies. At a corner, the musicians were ready with drums, kotos, biwas, flutes and other instruments. Female dancers in red, blue, green and yellow kimonos were giving the last demonstration. Male dancers were checking the sharpness of their swords and spears. At another side, the large quadrangular ligneous tables of foods and beverages were there, covered with white and red velvet sheets and served in golden and silver bowls, plates, knives, spoons, trays and goblets. The traditional foods of Japan, Russia, America and Spain were present there. Roasted duck, yoghurt salad, dumplings, grilled chicken, three or four types of rice, bread and noodles, beef and mutton gravy, vegetables, fruit juice, smoothies, pies, steam-made cakes, different-flavored puddings, sweet porridge-what was absent there? All those staples were crushing the tables. Though the serving hadn't started yet, the smoky, buttery and sugary aroma of those foods were activating the salivary glands of the guests a lot.
"Ah!" Tyson eyed them like a predator, licking his lips, "Why don't wedding ceremonies take place everyday in this palace?"
"Hush!" The purple-haired girl muttered, "Are you the bestman or an elephant? Have some manners."
"Uh…as you say….." The dragoon-wielder didn't protest but I knew that he'd surely have bitten back if someone else had been in the shoes of princess Dew.
The sun-moon-like grooms entered the wedding hall, followed by their cousins and elders. The guards knelt down and tapped the ground with their spears. Drums banged and other instruments played. Maids sprinkled another round of flowers at them. Walking straightly, the phoenix-prince and the wolf-prince went towards the stage and received their seats gently. The elders went upstairs and took their chairs. The younger people encircled their cousins. Soon, the elder members from the brides' party entered the hall as everyone stood up again, greeting them respectfully. Bowing back, they went upstairs. Sharing greetings and hugs with the members of the grooms' party, they seated themselves. Seeing the Russian bridegrooms, the eyes of the Japanese and Spanish emperors got filled with tears immediately. Everyone chorused:
"Hail prince Kai Hiwatari and prince Tala Valkov!"
"Hail prince Kai Hiwatari and prince Tala Valkov!"
You're dearer to us than our lives,
We welcome you here.
You've arrived with the grooms' procession,
Now, to the celestial bonds, we're so near.
Good deeds of the past lives have given,
Us the fortune of meeting you.
Now, we're in the seventh heaven,
By forming alliances with you.
"Honorable guests!" Hayashi Tachibana stood up, "Today, my brother-in-law Sebastian Fernandez, the emperor of Spain and I, Hayashi Tachibana, the emperor of Japan, are the luckiest men on the earth. Today, we're going to give the hands of our daughters to the hands of the worthiest men in this world. Today, it's not only the greatest of all days in our lives for both of us but also for Japan and Spain. After a long time, both the kingdoms have seen the sunrise of a new era."
"I agree with my brother-in-law," The emperor of Spain added, permitted by the Japanese king, "Our daughters are very fortunate that they have got the princes of Russia as their life-partners. We know that the husbands of our daughters will keep them very happy and love them like the crowns around their foreheads. Honorable guests, we welcome you all to the wedding ceremonies of our daughters as fathers, not as the kings in the marriages of the princesses."
"The ceremony should be started quickly," Turning to his prime-minister, the brown-haired man ordered, "Granger-san, have the brides called here."
"Sure, your Majesty." Ryu nodded.
After a few moments, the guards again kowtowed, hitting the floor with their javelins as the group of girls entered the wedding hall, being led by the brides and holding the oil-paper umbrellas over their heads. The eyes of the grooms remained stuck at the Japanese and Spanish princesses. Smiles rose in the lips and faces of all the guests as they saw the brides.
The chocolate-haired princess of Japan presented herself in a white Russian ball-gown having the embroidered quatrefoils stitched in golden threads. The surcoat over it had laguna peacock-feathers imprinted. Choirboy drapery under-sleeves and puffy-angel over-sleeves were possessing temple-peaks and Sakuras. Coffee hair was neatly tied into a low bun, half-braided at the sides of the forehead. Sticking to it, the pearl-specked georgette veil was sliding against the ground. Her top was fastened to her upper torso with the help of three separate golden breast-chain, waistband and midriff-cuff. The aureate chocker had a moonstone, tying her neck and keeping the shoulder-chains pinned to her sleeves. The same lockets were dangling from her earlobes as chandelier earrings, containing the white gemstones. Made of pearls and white zircons, the coronate was binding half of her head and the golden circlet capturing a white topaz encircled her forehead. Bosra pearl hairclips grabbed her coffee hair, a white rose accompanied them tucked over the left ear. Kohl-painted ruby orbs were at her feet and the coral lips held a bashful smile.
The gown of the same structure was worn by the Spanish princess but her fabric designs were olive-colored which was a uniqueness. The under-kirtle was also column-styled. Twin orange tresses fell by her cheeks and the auburn loose bun occupied the white georgette veil which had trinkets. The silver chocker necklace studded with an emerald embraced her neck, the same gemstones swung from her ears in the forms of coin temple-bell earrings. Clinging to her puffy over-sleeves, there was the shoulder-chain, the pendant falling on her chest. Two-layered pewter waistband hugged her midriff and hips. Silver and jade-made tiara covered half of her head and her temple was bound in the territory of a flint head-chain, embellished with a green tourmaline. Her emerald orbs, streaked with kohl, were outstretched proudly and orange-smeared lips were curved into a confident smile. Her left ear also had another white rose tucked over it with the silver hairclips ornamenting her front orange hair. Again, the jubilations filled the ambiances:
"Hail princess Hilary Tachibana and princess Julia Fernandez!"
"Hail princess Hilary Tachibana and princess Julia Fernandez!"
Cultured, full of values and gifted, the brides were walking ahead, spreading light all over in the wedding hall. Their luminosity darkened the flames of the candles and metal torches of the room. Their unmatched beauty and grace were so enchanting that their future life-partners couldn't remove their eyes from them. The daintiness of hundreds of goddesses was no match to them. Once again, the jaws of all the invited guests dropped in awe. Their parents felt proud of giving births to such heavenly daughters. Kai's lips held a satisfying smile of winning all the three worlds while Tala was thinking, folding his lips in, "Oh no, whose life am I going to destroy?"
The brunette princess, considered as the goddess of good fortune in Japan, was striding elegantly to get bound in the bond of births and rebirths with the guardian of the sacred vermilion bird of the south, along with her dual-haired cousin who was following her footsteps. Their feet adorned with the color made of red soil looked adorable like red lotuses growing on the surface of a crystal pond. Flowers underneath their feet blossomed beautifully when they kissed their flower-like toes.
Coming to the stage, the brides bowed before everyone for blessings and occupied their seats beside the grooms. The priests arrived there soon for conducting the rituals. After the welcoming speeches which contained the values and importance of marriage in the life of a man and a woman with additional concepts and stories, Stanley Dickenson stood at the right of the alter and Lady Kincaid remained at the left. The decision was taken that Tala and Julia's wedding would happen in Roman style and the marriage of Kai and Hilary would take place according to the Shinto traditions. All the guests were pleased hearing this. Nobody had any objection.
"Prince Tala Valkov," One of the conductors asked the groom who was standing, facing the dual-haired princess, "Do you accept princess Julia Fernandez as your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"
Tala gaped at his bride. Surprisingly, her eyes were lowered. She wasn't looking back at him. Seeing her face, it couldn't be understood whether she was shying away or feeling tensed. Taking a sharp breath and closing his eyes, Tala declared:
"I do."
Julia rose her eyes immediately at him. Her emeralds glowed more brightly with the tears of happiness and peace. Shutting her eyelids, she let them fall on her cheeks.
"Princess Julia Fernandez," The priest asked, "Do you accept prince Tala Valkov as your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"
Without removing her eyes from her groom, keeping her jades fixed on him, sternly, not hesitating a bit, with a bold tone, the Spanish princess answered:
"I do."
"In front of all the guests and deities, since you both have given your consent," The pastor announced, "You are husband and wife from now onwards. Prince Valkov, you may kiss your bride now."
Lifting the right hand of the dual-haired princess, Tala lowered his face and placed a simple kiss on her palm, letting her tears shower in double speed. As they exchanged the wedding rings, everyone squealed:
"Hail prince Tala Valkov and princess Julia Fernandez Valkov!"
"Hair prince Tala Valkov and princess Julia Fernandez Valkov!"
The wolf-prince and the Pegasus-princess hardly believed that they were husband and wife. They kept gazing at each other without blinking, holding each other's hands. Julia's eyes were sharp but even the sharpness had love for him. They had the untold promises of staying by his side forever and trying her best to protect him from all dangers.
Is it a dream? Or the reality?
Or a magic? Don't know what it is,
For a moment, the flowing time,
Has stopped right here.
Looks like you were written for me,
And I had to be only yours….
Tala and Julia returned to their seats as their friends and cousins congratulated them warmly. Now, it was the turn of my master and princess Hilary Tachibana. After being purified by lady Kincaid with holy water, standing up, they slowly reached the center of the podium. Dew was standing there with a round porcelain tray on which there were three wooden cups of three different sizes. All of them contained traditional Japanese rice wine. As the bestman, Tyson had the diamond wedding rings studded with sapphires on another platter, covered with dark blue velvet handkerchief. The aventurine pupils of the phoenix-prince were glued to the appearance of the Japanese princess while her rubies were bent down. Dew handed the smaller cup to the groom as he took a sip from it:
"I, Kai Hiwatari, keeping the guests and deities as witnesses, am taking a vow that, I'll be responsible for providing nourishment, welfare and happiness to my wife and our children."
As he handed the cup to his bride, she drank from it:
"I, Hilary Tachibana, keeping the guests and deities as witnesses, am taking a vow that, I'll take care of his and his family and household which are mine from now onwards and share the responsibilities of my husband as my own."
It was the turn of the middle-sized cup. Enchanted, everyone was listening to their vows. Their tones were bold, fearless and determined.
"I promise, I'll remain loyal and faithful to my wife and will stand by her throughout the thick and thins of life. I'll be with her providing mental, physical and financial stability and security to her and her family."
"I promise, I'll willingly share the duties of my husband by helping him in every possible way. I'll be ready to endure all with courage and strength."
The large cup was handed to the groom. Everyone's breaths were getting stopped at this phase. However, my master and mistress weren't nervous at all. The vows went like:
"I thank my bride that through this sacred affair of marriage, she has made my life beautiful and complete. I vow to respect both sets of families. I'll respect all her wishes and include hers in all my major and minor decisions. I'll protect her life and honor from all kinds of dangers and negative circumstances, no matter what happens, even if it costs my life, wealth and honor.
"I promise, I will stand by the side of my husband in all rituals, family and religious commitments and will walk by his side respecting and giving my consent for his decisions. I'll respect and regard his decisions and include his say in all my decisions. In case danger intercepts his way, it has to confront me at first as I'll stand before him to save him."
Max gave them the scroll of the final vows which would be taken together and Mariam stood there with a silver ink-pot and peacock-feather pen on a wooden tray for the signatures. The priest unfolded it as both announced, reciting:
"We, Kai Hiwatari and Hilary Tachibana, are delighted to be able to make our vows on this great day and to become husband and wife through the blessing of the deities.
We swear before the Kamis to love and respect each other forever,
and to strive to bring our family prosperity.
Moreover, we swear never to veer from the true path of matrimony, and to work to share the divine grace of Kamis by helping people and society."
Now, our eyes have met,
Let us never be apart,
I won't exchange you,
Even for the entire world….
Dipping the tip of the colorful feather pen into the ink-pot, Kai put his signature at the proper place and the brunette did the same thing like her husband. With a bright smile on his face, Stanley Dickenson announced, "Congratulations! You both are husband and wife now."
The silent guests burst out wild applause. They all blurted in unison:
"Hail Kai Hiwatari and Hilary Tachibana Hiwatari!"
"Hail Kai Hiwatari and Hilary Tachibana Hiwatari!"
While exchanging the rings, the slate-haired prince gazed at the ruby orbs of his bride which were filled with love, devotion and admiration for him. He silently thanked the deities for letting her be his life-partner. The rosy cheeks of the princess became red in bashfulness and euphoria when he held her hand to make her wear the ring. She felt as if she'd got all the treasures in her life that she'd ever wanted. All her dreams became true on the very day. They both were feeling afraid to close their eyes, struggling hard to believe whether it was a beautiful dream or the sweet reality. The joys of the emperor and the empress of Japan knew no bound. The sages, the young people and all other guests were too elated to describe their feelings.
Than the Fuji and the Volga,
Purer is our bond,
Your love is a flower plant,
And my heart is a fertile land,
We'll be together for multiple births.
We're life partners just like the lamp and the wick…
Wasting no moment, flower and petals rained on the couple from all the directions. Jubilations went louder, the drummers bet the drums and the seven tunes like seven heavens escaped from the instruments of the musicians. Florets were being showered from the sky on the divine pair too by the deities and sacred beasts. Their amethysts and rubies were caressing each other. The fair complexion of both were reddening gradually but they didn't mind. Hands were in hands, distance ceased. Finally, their love became purified in front of the whole world. Even in the bond, they were independent. They didn't care of birth and death. They didn't bother about the upcoming struggles, hassles and dangers in their life. They'd already been prepared for all of them. There was no gap between them anymore. They'd already started belonging to each other. They'd already became each other's.
Forever.
The princess of Japan and the prince of Russia,
Tied the bond of births and rebirths together, in euphoria,
In each other's heart, there're each other's names,
They'll keep it intact, they won't extinguish the flames,
Belonging to love. Their divineness will spread glory,
Two lives became one soul, they're each other's Kai-Hilary.
Yay! Finally a KaiHil wedding is here in this site! You know, I have read so many KaiHils here but unfortunately, I hardly found any KaiHil wedding in this site. Writing one, I'm feeling so proud! *Cries in happiness*
So...how was it? Have you enjoyed the weddings? ;D
What's the punishment of Max btw? What are the dangers that Emily found out? Will Tyson really divide the ransom money among his friends or will he loot it completely? XD
Dear Simy, I hope you have liked it :D
