Jay's POV

They didn't talk much going to the ship, it was about half a mile away from the cave. She simply told him that she had found him and got attacked after, which resulted in them hiding out here for the past week. But she kept quiet about what caused the attack. She had stolen a crown from a King, it was a job given to her by the locals pleading to save some of the girls that he had chosen to take as wives. She had done her part, bringing the girls back to their family, but she did take some compensation. The crown looked nice and J'luban wanted to feel like royalty. She even wore it around the ship before they were attacked. She had found Shiro while running from the army sent by the king. Honestly, she didn't want to help him at first. She wasn't the kind of person to help people so easily, usually came at a price. A very high price. But she noticed it was Shiro from the mechanical arm. The one person she could trust in this world, since her mother. She had picked him up and nursed him back to stable health. His body was damaged from what looked like a combination of battle and staying out in space for so long without proper gear. It may have been a week or more when they were caught by the army. It was a fierce battle, but they got away alive. Sadly, her ship wasn't as lucky. She had a bumpy landing, basically crashing into this planet. She had gotten in during a storm, and took Shiro to a cave to stay warm. The storm lasted until Shiro woke up, it was like the world was shining because he had woken. She didn't mind the storm; it gave her a place to hide, but now with it gone. She knew she would have to fix her ship as soon as possible. She didn't know if they would come back and she just couldn't take the chance. Shiro had come along and kept on pushing her for questions, though she would have usually punched someone, in his case, she answered some.

There was the question about how they knew each other, Matt, and Dr. Holt; but J'Luban quickly avoided them with her excuse of needing to focus on her task. She could tell Shiro's frustration with his movement stopping. He soon excused himself retreating into the decimated machine. She tried not to think too much about it. It was for his own good, in the end, she wished she could forget about her time in those camps. In that arena. At some point, the sun was high in the sky burning up the air around them. It became dry, but her sweat kept her relatively cool. She stepped back looking up at the large being blaring its heat at her. She lifted her dirty white shirt to wipe the sweat from her forehead. She wished for a second she had a better pair of pants instead of the black space pants. She pulled the pants slightly to allow some airflow to hit her heated legs. She slipped off her weapons belt letting it fall near her tool case as she sighed wondering if she gives herself some time to rest. She had a lot of work to do already, but her body was feeling overheated. She turned taking herself into the ship to grab something to cool herself. She entered the ship seeing the wires hanging from open panels. She took a deep breath trying to keep herself from bursting into a rage. She would need weeks maybe even months to do this on her own. J'Luban remembered then that she had someone staying with her. She wandered the ship looking for Shiro when she found him laying on her bed. His face was buried in the pillows and sheets as he slept. She felt a badum in her heart as she was brought back to the first time they had met. She thought he was handsome asleep, even when he tried to kill her for waking him up. She shook her head stopping the memory from going further as she left her room. She decided that she would ask for help once he awoke. Instead, she simply went to her kitchen grabbing a tiny blue capsule that contained water. She swallows it feeling her body cool down as she left the ship to go back to work.

Hours went on and the heat was still there when out of nowhere she heard a few roars from the sky. She looked up first to see a black and white mechanical creature coming down. She realized then it was the Black Lion of Voltron. Soon two other lions sprouted from the atmosphere: The Red and Blue lion. She was at this point working on the top of her ship when all three landed in front of her. She tightens the grip of her wretch wondering how she would go about this. She foolishly was reminded that her weapon belt was left down near the tools. She had let the heat get too into her head. She pulled her goggles down to shade her eyes from the harsh sun as she decided she would allow them to do the first move. She waited for a while until The Red lion opened up. Someone came shooting out with a paladin sword. She was surprised by the head-on attack. He was quick reaching her, but she was quicker. She smiled at the rush of her ancestors' blood spreading out to take a position. She jumped dodging the attack, sadly it resulted in him hitting her ship. She cursed under her breath as she slides down her ship trying to make it to her belt. She was stopped as the paladin jumped in front of her. He swung again missing her. She swung her wretch hitting him in the stomach. He grunted swinging again, but this time he hit air. J'Luban was already behind him reaching her belt. She swung the wretch backward toward the Red paladin to distract him as she threw the belt on. She grabbed two-cylinder pods which quickly took shape into two jagged blades. They formed in time for the Red Paladin's next assault. The contact between both blades sent them both back. She landed on her feet reading herself for her offense, she ran toward the boy starting their fierce battle. She needed to kill them. She knew what those lions were and their users. For most, they were protectors. To her, they were destroyers. She would kill them for her Ancestors, she kept on chanting within her thoughts. She knew it was stupid to take the paladin on, but she didn't care at the moment. She wanted revenge.

J'Luban then noticed another rider coming out of the Blue Lion and making his way toward her ship. Her revenge simmered as she was reminded about Shiro. She swung one sward knocking the Red Paladin. She let go of one sword letting it form back into a cylinder. She used the moment to quickly pull another cylinder off her belt and towards the Blue Paladin. The cylinder changed into a net latching onto the Blue Paladin and then latching to the ground. She turned her focus onto the Red Paladin again who was in front of her. He swung the sword barely missing her as he cut a piece of her shirt. She kicked him on the side before she swung at him. Both were sweaty and barely able to breathe as the Blue Paladin said, "Keith come on a little help here!"

The Red Paladin yelled back as he lunged at her, "I am busy call Pidge or Hunk."

J'Luban kept her calm fighting him. She could tell he was getting tired. She just needed to do another big blow. She moved with ease around kicking him in the back before she dislodged his blade from his hands, throwing it out of reach. She kicked him on the ground taking a breath in, he was about to scramble for his weapon, but she stopped him by placing her foot on his back. She held her blade up about to strike him, "Stop!"

J'Luban looked up to see Shiro walking toward the Blue Paladin. He kept switching his attention between all three of them as he moved toward her and the Red Paladin. He looked at J'Luban with pleading eyes, "These are my friends. Don't hurt them."

She sighed looking at the Red Paladin, who was glaring up at her. She thought for a second before deciding to trust Shiro. She had faith in him and he hadn't done anything to betray it. But her hand was still tight on her sword as she stepped off the boy. The Red Paladin stood quickly ready to punch her as Shiro grabbed his hand. The boy looked at Shiro confused as he said, "She saved me."

Keith took a second before he moved his arm to his side. Shiro patted the boy's arm as he looked to J'Luban, "Can you take Lance out of his restraints I need to talk to Keith."

J'Luban nodded walking away as she still listened in on them. She made her way to the one they call Lance, looked like a fish squirming within the net. She heard them talking about what happen and it was odd, she also heard Shiro defending her. She felt the damn badum again. Once she got to Lance, she growled to him, "Hold still."

Lance froze worried as he looked at her to see what she would do, she knelt down grabbing the net that formed back into the cylinder. She placed it against her belt standing up as Lance also stood up running to Shiro, "Shiro you're alive thank GOD!"

Shiro smiled saying, "Yeah, I am thanks to her."

J'Luban stared at them from her spot for a second feeling the space between her and Shiro. They weren't the type to associate with each other and in this moment it was clear. She watched Lance look over, and then run behind the other two boys. She sighed knowing that she was most likely on bad terms with them, but she wasn't the one to attack first. It was then her mother's words passed through her conscious, "It will not matter who started it first. Because of our people, you will always be seen as the bad guy.". Shiro looked at J'Luban pulling her out of her thoughts as he said, "Thank you, again."

J'Luban felt the goodbye in her heart. She could feel herself yearning for him to stay, but he would need to leave. And she would be alone again. The way it was supposed to be. She nodded as she said, "No problem. Seems your friends are here to take you home. I guess I will see you another time Shiro."

She turned around ready to get back to her task, when Shiro grabbed her wrist, "Wait, I owe you. What can I do for you?"

"No, you don't Shiro," J'Luban said not looking at him. She couldn't see the face he was making her heart was already growing heavy with the loss of her friend again. Silence coated the air as she felt a breath on her neck. She turned to notice how close Shiro was now. He looked interested in something, but their eyes meeting caused him to lean back. He must have noticed the raised skin, she wondered if he remembered what it was. But her answer was clear as Shiro said, "Come on, let me do something for you. Maybe we can help fix your ship."

J'Luban stopped for a second contemplating the offer. Her mother would consider her foolish for taking this offer, especially with the way Keith was ready to kill her. But she would also be foolish staying here. She knew where she would be going with them, in the end though, it would be safer than staying down here. She looked at the two other boys, "And I won't need to fear your comrades killing me?"

Shiro looked back seeing Lance and Keith looking at her just as suspicious as she was looking at them. Shiro sighed as he said, "I will make sure they won't hurt you."

J'Luban sighed really considering the decision. She decided she would rather take her chances with this group than with the army. She nodded not knowing this was going to be the start of a very new adventure.
