Brianna let out a tired sigh as she dried her long brunette hair with a fluffy red towel while she tip toed back into her bedroom after she had taken a shower and changed into a pair of burgundy Mystic Falls Timberwolves shorts that belonged to an ex girlfriend and her number seven soccer t-shirt. The Gilbert girl didn't realize how much that she needed that shower as she took a seat at the edge of her bed with a relieved sigh with how relaxed her body felt.

It was the perfect way to end a long and busy day and now all Brianna wanted to do was eat a quick snack for dinner before heading to sleep in her comfortable bed. However, though, when Brianna got up from the edge of the bed, she heard her cell phone begin to vibrate on the wooden desk in the corner of her bedroom. The human girl figured it was just Marcel checking up on her, so Brianna got up and grabbed her device to tell her God father that she was safe at home. The text message, though, wasn't from Marcel like Brianna thought once she grabbed her cell phone. It, instead, was a text message from the brunette beauty down at the book store in the French Quarter.

DEE 💖📚 : Do you want to come over and hang out?

Brianna bit down on her bottom lip as she read over the text message more than once. The human girl honestly didn't want to do anything as she was so exhausted from the long day that she had. However, Brianna did want to hang out with Davina since she enjoyed the brunette's company, so Brianna sent a quick text message back to Davina with the address of the apartment. Brianna figured it would be the only way that she could hang out without being all grumpy.

The Gilbert girl waited for Davina to text back - which she did by saying that she would be there soon - before Brianna headed out of her bedroom and downstairs. Brianna decided that she would fix something to eat while she waited for Davina to show up, so the human girl headed straight to the kitchen. The human girl wasn't sure what she wanted to eat, so she dug around for a few minutes until she found some leftover gumbo from the other night.

Thank you, Sophie, Brianna thought to herself with a grin while she heated up the delicious food in the microwave. The Gilbert girl could honestly live off of Sophie's gumbo, so she was glad that she had some left over. Brianna couldn't help but moan as she took out the container of food before she took a seat at the kitchen table and began to chow down. Perfect night, the human girl thought to herself, for the second time since she's been back at the apartment, as she just felt at home.

It only took about twelve minutes for the Princess of New Orleans to eat most of the leftover gumbo from the bar before there was the sound of a timid knock on the front door. Brianna knew it could only be Davina since Diego or her other vampire bodyguards usually just walks straight in when they need something, so Brianna placed the plastic container back into the refrigerator before she headed to the front door to greet her guest.

"Hey!" The Gilbert girl exclaimed with a grin when she saw the brunette beauty standing outside under a bright lamppost. "That was quick," Brianna commented with a small chuckle as she knew it takes at least twenty minutes or so to get to the apartment from the Claire family's bookstore.

Davina nervously brushed her brunette hair behind her ears while she cautiously glanced around the French Quarter out of nervousness before she shot Brianna a small smile. "I was close by," the Claire girl murmured with a light blush on her cheeks to explain how she got to the apartment so quickly.

Brianna nodded her head in understanding as she knew how close everything in the French Quarter is before she widely opened the door to let the brunette girl inside of the apartment. "Please, come in," the Gilbert girl murmured with a grin still shining on her face as she always felt calm, relaxed, and child-like with the innocent Claire girl.

Davina nervously bit down on her bottom lip while she continued to glance around again before she anxiously asked, "u-um, are you sure? Would Marcel be okay with this?" The Claire girl had always been nervous around the King of New Orleans ever since she found out about the supernatural world when she was a child. Davina remembered all the horrible stories her mother always told her, so Davina was quite nervous to be in the den of the King of New Orleans.

Brianna couldn't help but let out a small chuckle as she realized that Davina was nervous about her God father being home. "Marcel will be at the compound for awhile," the Gilbert girl told the Claire girl to convince Davina that there was nothing to worry about. Brianna figured it was because Davina's a witch and witches and vampires apparently don't really get along with each other.

Thankfully, it only took a minute or so of the two teenagers standing in threshold of the apartment before Brianna noticed Davina's body slowly lose its tension and become relaxed. Once Brianna knew that the Claire girl wasn't going to leave over her nervousness about Marcel, the Gilbert girl grabbed ahold of Davina's hand and exclaimed, "now, come on." Brianna then began to pull Davina through the apartment by her hand as she uttered, "I thought we could go enjoy the fresh air out on the balcony for a while." The human girl figured this way she wouldn't get too cranky from her sleepiness and she could still spend time with the brunette beauty.

Davina lightly squeezed Brianna's hand as the Gilbert girl pulled her upstairs before she murmured with a small smile playing on her lips, "that sounds great."

Brianna turned her back and shot the Claire girl a quick smile as she squeezed her hand before she pulled Davina into her bedroom. "Excuse the mess," the Gilbert girl mumbled as she realized that she had clothes strolled all over her floor and desk from trying to pick something to wear. Brianna walked the Claire girl straight to the glass doors before she opened them up and led Davina out onto the balcony - where they could instantly hear the smooth Jazz music playing through the streets of the French Quarter.

"Wow," Davina mumbled, mostly to herself, as she leaned over the balcony railing and noticed all of the bright lights from the city's night sky. "This is the best view in the city," the Claire girl commented as she had never, in her whole life, seen anything more breathtaking than their current horizon. "It's beautiful," Davina gushed as she felt herself fall in love with her hometown all over again.

Brianna stood next to the Claire girl on the balcony as she looked out at the night sky of New Orleans with Davina and murmured in agreement, "it is." The Gilbert girl then playfully bumped her hip into Davina's side before she added with a small smirk playing on her lips, "but it's not as beautiful as you are."

The Claire girl couldn't help but immediately blush beet red at the compliment from the brunette beside her. Davina hated how nervous and red that she would always get around the brunette girl, so she decided to look for a distraction to get the attention off of her. The brunette girl pushed a portion of her hair behind her ear and awkwardly cleared her throat before she quickly moved her brown irises around the balcony for some help.

"Oh, look!" Davina hurriedly exclaimed to change the conversation away from her as she pointed at the two metal chairs against the glass doors. "You have chairs!" The Claire girl cheered before she quickly murmured and rushed to sit down while she prayed that her blush would go away, "we should have a seat."

Brianna watched the young witch with a wide smirk playing across her lips as she knew that she was making Davina nervous and flustered like she usually does. Ah, my favorite pastime, the Gilbert girl thought in amusement before she slowly joined the blushing teenager as she took a seat on the empty chair.

Davina didn't want to get even more embarrassed than she already was with her red face after only being at the King of New Orleans's apartment for a couple of minutes, so she decided to focus on anything but herself. The Claire girl took a deep breath before she finally spoke as she commented, "it feels like I haven't seen you in forever... even though I saw you yesterday afternoon." Davina let out a small chuckle as she realized how clingy that sounded before she shook her head and awkwardly mumbled, "anyways..."

The Claire girl nervously played with her fingers for a moment as she tried to calm her nerves before she looked over towards Brianna with a small smile and continued as she wondered, "how was your day?" Davina remembered that the Gilbert girl mentioned over text that she was going to start working soon, so she wondered to see if she was correct, "it was your first day of work at the library, right?"

Brianna reached across her chair and gently grabbed ahold of the Claire girl's hand before she assured the young witch in a teasing whisper, "I missed you too." The Gilbert girl shot the brunette next to her a quick wink before she decided to answer Davina's question after the brunette began to blush again as she affirmed, "yeah, it was my first day." Brianna lightly shrugged her shoulders before commented on her first day at work, "it wasn't too bad. I finally made some friends around my age besides you and Lucas."

Davina nodded her head in understanding as she listened to the brunette girl before she curiously wondered, "why did you choose that library, anyway?" The Claire girl never really got the reason for why Brianna picked a library out of everything in the city, so she continued as she asked, "was it just because of your interest in history or was it something else?"

Brianna knew that she couldn't tell the Claire girl that she was working at the library because of her parents since Marcel didn't want anyone to know that she was a Labonair. The Gilbert girl did trust Davina but she knew it was safer to keep that secret between her and her God father, so Brianna decided to agree with what Davina already thought. "Yeah, they have a large history section," Brianna affirmed, which wasn't a complete lie, before she stated, "I read that it's one of the best libraries in New Orleans, so I thought it would be perfect for me."

The Claire girl bit down on her bottom lip for a moment before she released a silent sigh and mumbled, "oh." Davina nervously played with her fingers before she added as she stared straight across at the night sky of New Orleans, "it would have been fun to work together." The young witch couldn't help but feel sad or disappointed, she wasn't sure which one, as she knew it was going to be harder to see Brianna now that she was working as well.

Brianna had immediately recognized the Claire girl's disheartened attitude by the way the young witch avoided her gaze and began to play with her fingers. The Gilbert girl wanted to make Davina feel relaxed, so she reached over her chair and squeezed the young witch's thigh with a small smile before she joked, "if I would have worked with you at the store, you would have gotten tired of me in a weeks time."

Davina moved her brown irises over to the Gilbert girl beside her before she slowly shook her head and murmured truthfully, "I don't think I could ever get tired of you."

"Oh?" The Gilbert girl inquired with a wide smirk on her face. Brianna was honestly surprised at how easy the words flew out of the usually nervous witch. It was usually Brianna making comments like that, so she wasn't going to take it for granted. The Gilbert girl twisted herself in her seat so she could look directly at Davina before she wondered with a raised eyebrow, "is that so?"

Davina didn't know where the confidence was coming from as she nodded her head while she stared right into Brianna's hazel eyes. The Claire girl felt more relaxed and calm for a reason that she didn't understand as she confessed in murmur with a small blush playing on her cheeks, "there's no one like you, Bee."

The Gilbert girl couldn't help but shoot Davina one of her real and true smiles instead of her usual smirks before she softly murmured, "right back at you, sweetheart." Brianna, despite all the teasing that she does, was being completely truthful as she loved spending her time with Davina. However, Brianna wasn't going to voice her feelings since she didn't like spilling her guts like some love-sick fool, so she decided to focus on something else as she asked the young witch, "so, how what about you, Dee? How was your day?"

Davina lightly shrugged her shoulders as she focused her brown irises back onto the bright night sky of New Orleans before she answered about her boring day of working at her family's bookstore, "it was alright. It was like any other day at the office with nothing interesting going on."

Brianna hummed as she slowly nodded her head in understanding before she wondered with a teasing smirk playing on her face, "is that why you wanted me to work with you?" The Gilbert girl playfully bumped her bare foot with Davina's calf before she continued, "do I keep you entertained?"

The Claire girl released a small chuckle before she confessed, "truthfully, yes." Davina lightly shrugged her shoulders as she glanced over to the grinning brunette before she explained why she liked Brianna's company, "you make going to work fun - even if it's just an hour during lunch when we hang out."

Brianna widely grinned over to the Claire girl before she jokingly cooed, "awe, Davina is so soft for me." The Gilbert girl also liked going to the bookstore to hang out with the young witch as well. It was just that innocence that Davina had that ultimately pulled Brianna in. It was just so refreshing that Brianna couldn't help but want to experience it everyday.

Davina couldn't help but blush beet red at the truthfulness in the Gilbert girl's words that she had never voiced out loud before. However, the Claire girl felt too shy to voice those words to the grinning brunette beside her, so instead Davina murmured as she avoided looking into Brianna's hazel eyes, "maybe."

The Gilbert girl gave the young witch a wide smirk and opened her mouth to playfully tease Davina so she could change that maybe into a yes. However, though, before she could utter a single word, Brianna noticed a large shiver run down the brunette girl's body, so she changed the direction of the conversation. "Hey, are you cold?" Brianna inquired with her brows slightly furrowed.

Davina gave the Gilbert girl a sheepish smile when she was caught before she murmured with a small nod of her head, "maybe a little bit." The Claire girl had been feeling a little chilly ever since they walked out on the balcony but she didn't want to ruin their time together by complaining about the weather. Davina had thought she had been great at hiding her shivering but, apparently, she had not.

Brianna's hazel eyes widened before she quickly uttered, "well, why didn't you say so." The Gilbert girl didn't want Davina to feel uncomfortable or like she couldn't enjoy herself, so Brianna swiftly stood up from her chair before she grabbed ahold of Davina's hands to pull her up. Brianna then wrapped an arm around Davina's bare shoulder before she led the young witch back into her much warmer bedroom.

The Gilbert girl held onto Davina until they were a few feet into her bedroom before she released the young witch's shoulder and headed to her balcony doors. "You can get underneath the covers if you need to get warm," Brianna suggested to the Claire girl while she closed the glass doors and locked up the balcony for the night.

Davina watched the Gilbert girl from her position in the center of the large bedroom with her arms crossed over her chest before she nervously asked, "are you sure?" The Claire girl glanced over to the bed and noticed it looked quite warm but she didn't want to step over any boundaries. The young witch slowly shook her head, even though Brianna couldn't see her, before she mumbled, "I don't want to intrude."

Brianna playfully rolled her hazel eyes before she assured the young witch with a small chuckle, "I wouldn't have offered if I wasn't, Dee." The Gilbert girl knew that Davina wouldn't get into the bed herself, so Brianna walked over to her bed and lifted up the cover before she looked over to Davina with a raised eyebrow to silently invite her in.

It only took about half of a minute before the young witch fast walked to the bed and slipped right underneath Brianna's arm once she knew that she was sure that the Gilbert girl was okay with it. Brianna shot the Claire girl a small, amused smile after Davina jumped into the bed before she pulled the cover around Davina's cold body. "I'm thinking hot chocolate," Brianna exclaimed once she knew Davina would be warm in the bed before she asked, "what do you think?"

Davina slowly nodded her head as she nervously played with her fingers underneath the navy blue cover before she quietly murmured, "I could go for some hot chocolate." The Claire girl hated that she was getting shy again. It wasn't like it was her first time in a girl's bed before but Davina couldn't help but to get nervous whenever she was around the Gilbert girl.

Brianna grinned widely when the young witch agreed before she murmured a small, "good." The Gilbert girl then turned around to walk out of her bedroom before she quickly paused and faced Davina once more. "Wait," Brianna muttered before she asked the Claire girl, "marshmallows or no marshmallows?"

A large smile immediately pulled onto the Claire girl's lips at the simple and easy question before she answered in a, thankfully, relaxed and calm voice, "definitely marshmallows."

The Gilbert placed her right palm over her chest before she teasingly cooed, "you know just the way to my heart." The two teenagers both chuckled at the small joke for a minute or so before Brianna told Davina once the room grew silent, "I'll be right back." The Princess of New Orleans gave the Claire girl one last smile before she finally exited out of her bedroom and jogged down the staircase.

Brianna made her way into the kitchen once she reached the bottom level of Marcel's apartment before she headed straight towards the pantry. The Gilbert girl had gotten pretty familiar with the whole apartment like it was her own home, so she knew exactly where everything was located. Brianna didn't even have to look as she grabbed the box of instant hot chocolate on the second row of boxed foods before she exited the pantry closet and headed to the sink.

The Gilbert girl pulled out two packets of hot chocolate from the box before she opened up the second cabinet on her left and grabbed two mugs - one red and one orange. Brianna filled the two mugs half way with water from the sink before she poured the hot chocolate mix into the mugs as well. The brunette girl then opened up the drawer to her right and grabbed a metal spoon before she stirred the mixture all together.

Brianna made sure there wasn't any powder left unmixed before she walked six steps to her left by the stove and placed the two mugs into the microwave. The Gilbert girl put the timer on for two minutes and pressed start before she turned around and headed back into the pantry with the box of hot chocolate while the drinks were being warmed up. Brianna placed the box back into the right place before she grabbed the glass canister of mini marshmallows.

Brianna made her way out of the pantry just as the buzzer on the microwave rang - which alerted the brunette girl that the hot chocolate was ready. "Perfect timing," the Gilbert girl mumbled to herself before she made her way to the microwave and grabbed the two mugs. Brianna placed the mugs down onto the kitchen island before she opened the glass canister and poured about a hand full of mini marshmallows into each mug of hot chocolate.

The Gilbert girl quickly placed the glass canister back into the pantry closet as she made sure the kitchen wasn't a mess for when Marcel would come home before she carefully settled the two warm mugs into her hands. Brianna then cautiously walked back up the stairs as she prayed that she wouldn't spill any hot liquid on her. Thankfully, Brianna made it safely back into her bedroom after a slow three minutes of carefully walking. "Here we are," Brianna murmured as she headed towards the Claire girl on her bed.

"Thank you," Davina murmured in the same quiet tone that the Gilbert girl used before she grabbed the orange mug from Brianna's outstretched hand. The young witch slowly brought the mug to her lips and blew on the warm liquid for a moment or two before she took a small sip of the hot chocolate. "Mmm," Davina instantly moaned out after she got a taste of the sweet drink before she complimented, "so good."

Brianna let out a small chuckle as she walked around her bed until she reached the right side. The Gilbert girl then maneuvered herself underneath the large covers beside Davina with her hot drink before she teasingly uttered, "I'll make sure to put hot chocolate perfectionist on my resume."

Davina playfully but carefully, so they didn't spill their hot drinks, bumped her shoulder with the Gilbert girl's before she joked right back, "you should." The two teenagers both laughed together before they settled into a comfortable silence as they enjoyed each other's company and drank their mugs of hot chocolate.

However, after about another four minutes had passed of tranquility, Davina placed her now empty mug down onto the bedside table before she turned her body slightly to the side to ask something that she had been wanting to do since she had first seen Brianna and Marcel together. Davina had been so curious about the fact if Brianna knew about the existence of vampires since she lives with the King of New Orleans.

"I know Marcel is your God father," the Claire girl began as she subconsciously played with her fingers before she inquired, "but how come you guys are so close?" Davina slightly shook her head before she added from what the Gilbert girl had told her, "I'm sure this is the first time you've seen him since you mentioned this is the first you have been back home in awhile."

Brianna placed her mug down onto the bedside table to her right before she turned her attention onto the curious witch. The Gilbert girl didn't say anything right away, though. Instead, she stared across at Davina while she thought about how she was going to answer Davina's question. Brianna wanted to tell the young witch about her involvement with vampires since she didn't want to hide anything from someone that she saw as a friend. Brianna also took in account the fact that Davina is a witch along with the fact that she obviously knows what Marcel is by how nervous she was when she entered the apartment earlier.

The Gilbert girl decided that she could tell Davina the truth on why she and Marcel were so close but Brianna knew that she needed to act like she didn't know Davina was in the supernatural world as well. Brianna took a deep breath after she came up with a plan to tell the young witch the truth before she asked the Claire girl in a false timid voice, "alright, I know this might sound a little crazy, but do you happen to believe in vampires?"

Davina didn't want the Gilbert girl to ever find out about her witch heritage as she was afraid that Brianna would treat her differently, so the Claire girl widened her brown eyes like she was shocked to hide the fact that she was a witch. "I-I mean, yeah, I guess so," the young witch stuttered out before she asked with false confusion, "but what does that have to do with Marcel?"

Brianna couldn't help but roll her hazel eyes when she saw the lie terribly come out of the young witch's mouth. "Oh, come on, Dee," the Gilbert girl exclaimed before she chasted, "I know you're smarter than that." Brianna rose one of her eyebrows as she stared across at the twitching Claire girl for a minute or two before she inquired to get Davina to admit the truth, "you've lived in New Orleans all your life and you haven't noticed anything strange?"

The young witch tried to stay strong with her act to keep her identity hidden but as Brianna continued to stare at her, Davina knew that she couldn't keep it up any longer. Davina released a heavy sigh as she slowly nodded her head before she confessed the truth, "alright, yes. Everyone who's from here knows all about the King of New Orleans." The Claire girl looked down at her fingers as she played with them before she muttered, "New Orleans vampires don't exactly try to keep a secret."

Brianna knew that the Claire girl would end up telling her the truth but she still couldn't help but release a breath of relief as she exclaimed, "oh, thank God you know." The Gilbert girl despised not being able to talk to someone about all of the vampire crap that seems to surround her life now. Brianna would have went to Caroline if she was back home, so it was nice to actually be able to talk about it. "I can finally tell someone, other than Lucas, about my problems," Emily continued with a small chuckle as she just felt so relieved that she didn't have to hide this part of her life from the Claire girl.

Davina immediately became worried when the Gilbert girl, someone who she has come to care about, mentioned her problems in the same sentence as vampires, so she quickly grabbed ahold of Brianna's wrist as she hurriedly asked all in one breath, "is there something going? Are you in danger?"

Brianna lightly waved her hand, the one Davina wasn't still holding, with an amused chuckle at how worried the Claire girl sounded before she assured Davina that it wasn't that serious, "no, no, it's nothing like that." The Gilbert girl lightly shrugged her shoulders as she silently slid her hand down until her palm was locked with Davina's instead of her wrist before she explained in a quiet murmur, "it just gets stressful sometimes." Brianna shot the Claire girl a small smile as she ran her thumb across the young witch's hand before she added, "so, it's nice to be able to be normal around you."

The Claire girl's cheeks were instantly dusted with a rosy color after the small comment from Brianna - which slightly affected her more than she thought it would. It was the ultimate compliment for someone to tell her that they felt normal around her. However, Davina was still worried about Brianna and her vampire problems so she tried to push away her blush as best as she could before she wondered with her brows furrowed, "why are you so stressed?"

Brianna lightly cleared her throat before she began in a mumble, "well," as she turned her body more to the side so she could fully look into Davina's brown eyes. The Gilbert girl slightly shrugged her shoulders once she was comfortable on her side of the bed before she told Davina her problem like as if she was talking about some normal teenage problem like school, boyfriends, or girlfriends, "the other day, Marcel made me the Princess of New Orleans."

It barely took half of a second before the Claire girl's brown irises widened in surprise at the brunette's problem that Davina was definitely not expecting. "Holy crap," the young witch couldn't help but mumble as she was still shocked before she commented, "wow, I can see why you would be so stressed. That's a big thing to handle."

The bedroom in the French Quarter stayed silent for about two minutes after Brianna's problem was spoken out loud as the Claire girl tried to absorb the fact that her friend was family with the vampire that a lot of people hated and was also apart of that kingdom of vampires as well. However, Davina wasn't going to judge the Gilbert girl because of it like she hoped will never happen if Brianna was to ever find out about her witch heritage. The Claire girl didn't want Brianna to regret telling her about her problems, so the young witch gave Brianna's hand a small squeeze before she wondered with actual curiousness, "what does being the Princess entail, if you don't mind me asking?"

Brianna quickly shot the young witch an assuring smile as she could see the worry wheels spinning in Davina's head before she affirmed, "no, please, ask away." The Gilbert girl released a small chuckle before she jokingly told the Claire girl, "I will go crazy with all of this if I don't talk about it."

The young witch joined in with Brianna's chuckling for a moment as Davina was glad that the Gilbert girl wasn't any danger nor did she mind talking about her new role. "Anyways," Brianna began once her bedroom grew silent before she explained to the young witch about her duties as the Princess of New Orleans, "Marcel started me on this training routine with a couple of vampires to be able to fight and defend myself." The Gilbert girl let a grin lift onto her lips before she added with a bit of excitement in her voice, "I will even have my own army of vampires someday."

It took exactly one full Jazz song from the streets of New Orleans before the Claire girl finally murmured, "wow, that's a lot." Davina quickly looked over to the Gilbert girl instead of staring down at their connected hands before she shot Brianna a sheepish smile and apologized, "I'm sorry. I-I don't know what to say to make you less stressed about all that."

The Gilbert girl shook her head to let Davina know that it was okay before she joked, "trust me, I feel that way everyday now." Brianna was handling everything pretty well considering that she barely found out that she was adopted and the existence of vampires in the span of two weeks. However, she did have her moments of being stressed since she hadn't had anyone to vent to. It was nice to vent to someone that wasn't apart of the vampire kingdom like Lucas and Marcel - even though Davina wasn't completely human.

"Anyways," Brianna began as she shot the Claire girl one of her real smiles before she praised the young witch, "thank you for listening and not judging me because I'm basically apart of the vampires." The Gilbert girl released a small sigh before she commented, "it's nice to actually share this since I can't exactly call up any of my friends or family back in Mystic Falls and vent to them about all of this." Brianna was so used to going to Caroline or Elena about her problems, so Brianna liked that Davina could be that person for her.

Davina gave the Gilbert girl's hand a slight squeeze to let Brianna know that she was there for her before she promised with a shake of her head, "I would never judge you." Like I hope you won't judge me if my witch heritage was to ever come out, Davina added as she thought to herself. The Claire girl shot Brianna a small smile before she softly murmured, "I will always be here for you if you ever need someone to talk to."

The Gilbert girl squeezed Davina's hand right back with a small smile playing on her lips before she told the young witch in a soft voice, "and the same goes for you as well." Brianna couldn't help but keep her hazel eyes locked with Davina's brown ones for a moment as she just felt this sense of tranquility that she had never felt in Mystic Falls with drugs, alcohol, boyfriends, or girlfriends. It was a nice feeling but Brianna didn't want to make the Claire girl feel awkward or nervous with her staring, so Brianna move her hazel eyes off of Davina before she muttered, "alright, that's enough vampire talk for one night."

Brianna glanced around her bedroom for a minute or so as she tried to get rid of her thoughts that were constantly about Davina and the way that she makes her feel before she glanced over to Davina with a quick smile when she knew what she could do to distract herself from those thoughts of the innocent girl. "How about a good comedy movie?" The Gilbert girl suggested.

Davina nodded her head as she liked that idea before she murmured, "that sounds perfect." The young witch was just glad to move off of the topic of the supernatural world since she didn't want to take the chance of spilling her secret. Davina also liked the suggestion because it gave her time to spend time with Brianna and get close to her. The Claire girl knew that she could get shy around Brianna quite a lot but she did love being around the Gilbert girl.

Brianna shot the young witch a wide grin before she swiftly jumped out of her bed. "Alright, so I think I have a movie around here somewhere," the Gilbert girl mumbled before she began to search her bedroom for a DVD. It took about three to four minutes for Brianna to look around her slightly messy room before she found a movie underneath a pile of clothes.

The Gilbert girl brightly smiled when she saw it was one of her favorites that she had accidentally packed when she left Mystic Falls. "You can't go wrong with a classic," Brianna told the young witch as she showed Davina the cover of the DVD - Mean Girls - before she walked over to her flatscreen TV and placed the movie into the DVD player. The Gilbert girl then grabbed the remote and fast forward through all the old advertisements for other movies that had came out in 2004 before she pressed play.

Brianna made sure that the movie actually worked before she swiftly jumped right back into her bed. The Gilbert girl slithered herself underneath her navy blue cover and laid beside Davina right as the first scene of the movie came on when Lindsay Lohan's character, Cady Heron, began her first day of high school.

The Claire girl and the Gilbert girl watched the classic comedy while they shared laughs and jokes throughout the whole movie. It was like they knew each other their whole lives as they went back and forth with one another with a sense of calmness surrounding them. However, though, when the movie reached the one hour and five minute mark where the famous Burn Book was released out in the hallways and everyone began to fight, Brianna realized just how late it was.

Brianna didn't want to get the Claire girl in trouble by being out this late with her mother like she did when she had taken Davina out with her to the park when the young witch was working at the bookstore. The Gilbert girl wanted to make sure that there wouldn't be any problems, so Brianna turned her body on her side to look at Davina before she inquired, "do you need to get home or is your mom fine with you staying over?"

The Claire girl turned her body so she was lying on her side before she looked into Brianna's hazel eyes and uttered with a hint of amusement in her voice, "my mom would kill me if she knew I was in the King's castle." Davina rolled her brown eyes before she explained once she noticed Brianna's confused expression, "my mom despises Marcel."

The young witch knew that her statement might arise questions about why her mother, a supposedly human woman, would hate a vampire, so Davina quickly continued before Brianna could question her about it. "However, luckily for me," the Claire girl began before she told Brianna with a wide grin, "my mom is gone for the rest of the week in Chicago so we're fine."

The grin on the Claire girl's face, however, was soon washed away, though, when she got lost in her anxiety filled thoughts. Davina swiftly pushed her body up from the bed and quickly faced the Gilbert girl before she hurriedly exclaimed as she didn't know if Brianna was hinting at something, "but I can leave if you want me gone."

Brianna couldn't help but release a chuckle at the anxious girl, who had been relaxed and calm for over an hour, before she assured the young witch with a soft voice, "no, no. I just didn't want you to get in trouble, angel." The Gilbert girl could still see Davina's mind running even after her reassuring words, so Brianna sat up before she gently pushed Davina back onto the large pillows.

Brianna leaned her head onto Davina's shoulder once the now relaxed Claire girl was lying back down before she looked up at her plain white ceiling with an air of tranquility surrounding them. "I like hanging with you," the Gilbert girl softly murmured after a moment of silence as she spoke her thoughts for the first time about the girl beside her, "you're very different from the people I'm usually friends with." Brianna let a small smile lift onto her lips as she commented, "you're so kind, innocent, and gentle."

The Gilbert girl stayed silent for a few minutes after she had uttered her thoughts out loud as she felt like she was just surrounded by the girl beside her - and it was surprisingly not a bad feeling. Brianna felt more alive than she had in years when she's around the Claire girl. Brianna was used to partying all the time and getting into trouble so it was refreshing lying beside the girl that made her feel things that she had never felt with any of the boyfriends and girlfriends that she has had through junior high and high school.

Brianna had came to absolutely love the way that the Claire girl has made her feel over the last couple of weeks and Brianna decided that she didn't want to hide it any longer. The Gilbert girl silently lifted her body onto her left elbow and looked down at the young witch with a soft smile. Brianna slowly rose up her hand after a moment and pushed a portion of Davina's brown hair behind her ear before she lightly placed her hand onto the young witch's cheek as she confessed in a soft whisper, "I like you, Davina Claire."

The young witch couldn't help but to be immediately shocked by the Gilbert girl's confession. However, that shock only lasted for a minute or two before Davina slightly blushed as she also pushed her body up until she was leaning her head on her elbow. Davina connected her brown eyes with Brianna's hazel ones before she slowly linked their hands together and whispered right back with a wide grin threatening to spill across her face, "I like you, too, Brianna Gilbert."

A wide grin immediately pulled onto the hazel eyed girl's face as well when she heard Davina's confession. Brianna leaned across the mattress until she was only centimeters away from Davina before she placed a feather-like kiss onto the young witch's button nose. The Gilbert girl let out a soft chuckle when Davina scrunched up her face before Brianna laid her body back onto her pillow. Brianna then grabbed ahold of Davina's waist and pulled her closer before she guided Davina's head onto her chest.

The two smiling and giggly teenagers laid there in a comfortable silence with only their heartbeats pounding together and the rest of Mean Girls playing in the background. The Claire girl slowly moved her hand down until she felt the tip of Brianna's fingers before she linked their hands together with the sound of New Orleans locals playing their smooth Jazz music.

I guess I'm one of those love-sick fools now, Brianna thought to herself in amusement as she ran her thumb on the back of Davina's hand before she brought it to her lips for a quick but sweet peck. However, Brianna could care less that she was turning into one of those of people who she had complained about earlier.

It was that innocence the Claire girl carried with her that affected Brianna so much. Brianna was used to being around people that were labeled as bad and mischief, so being with Davina, an innocent and sweet girl, was just such a new experience. The Claire girl was like this mythical creature that Brianna had never seen before.

Brianna felt like she was at home with the way that she felt around Davina. The Claire girl made her feel so relaxed like as if she knew Davina all her life. That has always been the ideal feeling that Brianna always tried to seek out whenever she's with someone - that feeling of home.

The Gilbert girl released a sigh of content as she watched the rest of the iconic comedy movie with a sense of calmness surrounding her. Brianna honestly hadn't feel this relaxed in a very long time. It was like she was experiencing a summer romance that are always on those romantic comedy movies that her aunt Jenna watches and Brianna didn't want that feeling to ever end.
