It had already been three months since Brianna had started a new life in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was like any other day as Brianna walked down the street of her hometown with her three best friends, Davina, Tim, and Lucas, after a long day of learning at school and an even longer day of soccer practice - hense the reason why it was already five in the evening.
"Ugh," the teenage vampire, Lucas, groaned out while he leaned his body against the Gilbert girl's equally sweaty navy blue KIPP Renaissance High Bobcats soccer jersey before he complained, "coach is working us too hard." Lucas let out a chuckle when Brianna pushed him off of her before he continued to complain, "I mean, come on, we barely formed the team a month ago and he's already pushing us like we're going to Nationals tomorrow."
Brianna rolled her hazel eyes at the complaining vampire - who shouldn't even be tired from soccer practice thanks to his supernatural abilities - so she knew he was just complaining for the hell of it. The Gilbert girl glanced over to Lucas with a wide smirk playing on her lips before she teasingly told him as she bumped her shoulder with his, "you could always quit if you want."
Lucas immediately barked out a loud laugh before he exclaimed, "fat chance, princess." The Galvez vampire bumped his shoulder back into the human girl's before he continued with a proud grin shining across his face, "you just want to take my captain spot." Lucas was quite proud of himself when three weeks ago he was named captain - even though he did use his supernatural abilities at try-outs but he would never admit that to Brianna or she would have his ass.
Tim shook his head with a quiet chuckle as he glanced at the two soccer players of their group before he mumbled, "you guys are too competitive." The young teenager had gotten used to Lucas and Brianna's antics ever since Davina had brought the two athletes into their small circle but it was always amusing to watch it happen in person.
Davina, who was standing between Tim and Brianna as they walked down a familiar neighborhood in New Orleans, bumped her jean-clad hip into Tim's before she jokingly told her best friend while she shot the two soccer players a playful grin, "we're the normal ones."
Brianna rolled her hazel eyes with a small chuckle escaping her lips at the sight of the smiling Claire girl before she deadpanned at the giggling non-athletic teenagers, "oh, ha ha, you're hilarious."
"You guys are just boring," the Galvez vampire exclaimed as he defended himself and the Gilbert girl. Lucas lazily tossed his right arm over Brianna's shoulder before he cockily told the two humans with a smirk playing on his lips, "we're the fun ones."
Tim shook his head with a small chuckle as he glanced over to the confident soccer players. "Well, this normal teenager is going to nap unlike you two jocks," the brunette teenager jokingly muttered as they slowly came to a stop in front of the driveway of his family's small, yellow house.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Lucas mumbled with a roll of his brown eyes as he lazily waved his hand at the human teenager before he told Tim, "we'll see you later."
The Gilbert girl pushed herself out of Lucas' grip before she made her way towards Tim to tell him goodbye like she did everyday. "Have fun being boring," Brianna teased the brunette teenager as she pulled him into a short hug before she and Tim both shared a small laugh together.
Once Brianna had taken her spot back beside the pouting Galvez vampire, Tim pulled the Claire girl into a hug before he reminded the brunette teenager of their daily tradition that they had done everyday since middle school, "call me later."
"I will," Davina promised her best friend once their embrace had ended before she waved as Tim made his way into his house. The three teenagers waited until Tim had entered his home before they continued to walk down the streets of New Orleans in a peaceful silence. However, that silence was soon interrupted after a few minutes when Davina bumped her hip into Brianna's before she asked, "hey, are you doing anything tonight?"
Brianna instantly shook her head as she knew that she didn't have any plans for the day since she did her vampire training in the mornings so it wouldn't interfere with soccer practice and she didn't have to work at the library today. "Nope," the Gilbert girl mumbled out her answer before she glanced over to Davina with a raised eyebrow and curiously wondered, "why? Do you have any plans?"
The Claire girl looked away from Brianna's hazel irises as she glanced down to her fingers that were playing with the hem of her purple blouse with a hint of nervousness in her bones. Davina had gotten better with her emotions around the Gilbert girl as they got to know each other more over the past three months but she still got this fluttery feeling in her chest when she knew they would be alone - like what she was trying to ask. Davina took a silent deep breath as she tried to gain some ounce of confidence before she glanced back up to Brianna with a grin playing on her lips and she cheekily murmured, "I will if you say yes to hanging out tonight."
The Gilbert girl couldn't help but to release an amused chuckle at the young witch. Brianna found it quite adorable how Davina acted when she would say certain things around her. It reminded Brianna of an innocent kitten.
The Gilbert girl could tell that Davina was starting to get nervous when she didn't say anything after a full minute, so Brianna quickly told the witch before she could panic, "well, it looks like you have plans tonight." Brianna shot the Claire girl a small smile before she stated, "I'll meet you at Rousseau's at seven."
A wide grin immediately pulled onto Davina's face at the Gilbert girl's agreement to hanging out tonight before she softly murmured with a twinkle to her brown eyes, "I'll see you there, then." The Claire girl couldn't help but to be excited for seven o'clock - like she was every time that she and Brianna hanged out with each other. It just always made Davina forget everything else that was bothering her like with her witch heritage. Brianna just brought out that calmness, even when they would do something crazy like riding the scariest roller coasters at the amusement park, that Davina loved so much.
The three teenagers of the witch, the human, and the vampire continued to walk through the streets of New Orleans in a comfortable silence with little jokes and murmurs being passed between the trio every now and again before they finally came to a stop in front of the Claire house after about thirteen minutes.
The Gilbert girl didn't even get the chance to tell Davina goodbye or that she would see her tonight before the aforementioned girl wrapped her arms around Brianna's waist into a tight embrace. The hug lasted way longer than the one between Davina and Tim - but neither girl minded it. It was one of Brianna's favorite things about their relationship with how cuddly and clingy they could be with each other since it was so calming and normal for them.
The embrace finally ended, though, when the Galvez vampire lightly cleared his throat after a full two minutes had passed. The Claire girl awkwardly chuckled as she slowly pulled herself from Brianna's body before she shot the Gilbert girl an equally awkward smile. Davina then moved over to the silent but smirking Lucas and pulled him into a hug as well before she rushed out in a mumble, "I'll see you tomorrow." The Claire girl shot her two friends another smile once she was finished hugging the two soccer players before she quickly turned around and headed towards her house with a skip to her step.
"Ugh," the Galvez vampire exaggeratedly groaned out once he had seen Davina close the front door behind her and she was safely inside of her home. Lucas glanced over to Brianna as they continued to walk down the road before he complained, "could you guys please get together already?" A look of disgust crawled onto the young vampire's face as he mumbled, "it's just plain sad watching you guys dance around each other and act like love-sick puppies."
Brianna rolled her hazel eyes at the Galvez vampire while she cursed herself for letting Lucas find out about her adoration for the young witch over a bottle of vodka last month. "We're just taking it slow and having fun," the Gilbert girl explained to the vampire with a small shrug of her shoulders as she finally answered his question after Lucas continued to puff and let out annoying sounds to get Brianna's attention.
The fact that they were taking it slow didn't really bother Brianna all that much than she thought it would when Davina had asked her if they could take it slow the next morning after they confessed to liking each other three months ago. Brianna was used to jumping straight to sex then a short and meaningless relationship so she found Davina's way refreshing. She loved how they still acted like friends but with the added touchy feely and flirty moments. It made it all that much more enjoyable to their relationship and where it could go.
"Well, it's sad," Lucas repeated himself for the second time to get his point across - which also jumped Brianna out of her thoughts of the Claire girl. The Galvez vampire rolled his brown eyes when Brianna only gave him a grin before he complained once more as he stomped his feet, "just get together already!"
Brianna rolled her eyes at the young vampire before she mumbled as she carelessly waved her hand, "yeah, yeah, yeah." The Gilbert girl glanced over to Lucas with a smirk playing on her lips before she sarcastically uttered, "I'm sure it's just absolutely killing you to not see us together."
The Galvez vampire placed his hand over his unbeating heart before he fake cried out, "it really is." Lucas wiped away an invisible tear from his honey brown eyes before he continued with his crying act as he shouted out in agony, "I just want my two bisexual besties to get together already!"
"God, you're so dramatic," the Gilbert girl mumbled as she shook her head in amusement before she and Lucas couldn't hold their laughter in any longer as they busted out into giggles. The laughter of the human girl and the young vampire continued while they joked around with each other until they slowly came to a stop in front of Marcel and Brianna's apartment in the French Quarter.
Brianna wiped away the tears from her hazel eyes once they had finally calmed down before she pulled the Galvez vampire into a tight embrace. "I'll see you at the compound later tonight," the Gilbert girl told Lucas into the hug as it was her usual routine since Marcel always wanted to take her out for dinner after their long day of school and work.
Lucas silently nodded his head against the shorter girl's temple before he mumbled out, "you should at least thing about asking Davina out." The Galvez vampire squeezed the Princess of New Orleans' shoulders before he reminded Brianna, "you already know she likes you." Lucas, despite his teasing, did want Brianna and Davina to get together. He could see how much they cared for one another so it only make sense for them to stop being stubborn and sail his favorite bisexual ship.
Brianna released a soft chuckle against the young vampire's chest before she pulled away from his embrace. "I'll think about it," the Gilbert girl uttered with a small nod before she pointed her finger at Lucas and exclaimed with her hazel eyes squinted, "but don't think this will take my focus off of beating you for your captain spot."
The Galvez vampire shot the human girl a wide smirk before he raised his hands up in innocence as he slowly took a few steps away from the Princess of New Orleans. "I don't know what you are talking about," Lucas exclaimed with a wink and a small chuckle before he swiftly turned around and headed towards the compound.
The Gilbert girl rolled her hazel eyes at the vampire, who she, sadly, called her best friend, before she watched him speed away with a chuckle escaping her lips. Brianna loved the relationship that she had when the supernatural being as it was very playful - like the one that she had with Caroline if that was even possible.
The human girl waited until Lucas had turned down the corner and disappeared before she twisted her body and entered hers and Marcel's apartment. The place where she and Marcel lived was a single apartment, so Brianna didn't have to walk very far - just a small set of stairs - before she was pushing her key inside of the hole and opening the door. The Gilbert girl silently made her way through the foyer before she stepped foot into the living room - where she immediately spotted hers and Marcel's favorite vampire protector, Diego, resting on the leather couch.
"Hey," Brianna greeted the curly haired vampire before she glanced around the living room and over to Marcel's closed office door. However, when the Gilbert girl couldn't hear any other movements in the apartment, Brianna looked back over to Diego before she wondered about the whereabouts of her Godfather, "is Marcy home?"
Diego straightened his body instead of resting lazily on the couch like he had been doing for the past two hours when he noticed the Princess of New Orleans' presence before he shook his head. "He's working at the compound," the vampire explained to Brianna as he crossed his arms over his chest with a small yawn.
The Gilbert girl nodded her head in understanding as she figured that was where Marcel was like he usually is. Brianna continued on her way to bedroom after she got the information on her Godfather's whereabouts as she headed for the staircase before she suddenly remembered one of the rules that she had to follow while she lived in New Orleans. Brianna turned around and faced her vampire bodyguard before she mentioned, "oh, hey, I'm going to be leaving to go to Rousseau's in a few hours."
Diego nodded his head from his spot on the leather couch before he told the human girl like he did every time Brianna wanted to go somewhere in the city, "I'll be here when you're ready to go."
Brianna shot the curly headed vampire a small smile and murmured, "alright, thanks, D," before she continued her way up the staircase. The Gilbert girl didn't really mind have the president treatment whenever she would go somewhere. The first month in New Orleans, it bothered Brianna because she's always been such a free spirit and doing whatever she wanted but now it was comforting to know that there was someone constantly watching her back and keeping her safe.
It only took a short three minutes of Brianna slowly walking up the staircase before she was pushing open the door to her bedroom. The Gilbert girl happily breathed in the lavender smell that her room always had - thanks to the candles Davina would always give her - as she walked towards her bed before she tossed her backpack onto the ground and face planted right onto her comfortable and soft bed.
However, though, before Brianna could take a much needed nap after a long school day and an even longer soccer practice, the Gilbert girl released a loud groan when she remembered that she had an English paper due tomorrow and she had barely even started it. Brianna knew that she wouldn't do it after hanging out with Davina, so the brunette girl knew that she'd better do it now or it would never get done in time.
The Gilbert girl released an exhausted sigh as she was dreading having to work on her essay before she finally stretched her body across her bed and grabbed the laptop off of the bedside table. Once Brianna had the device that Marcel had gave her before school started in her hands, she pushed herself against her white headboard before she opened up her laptop. The Gilbert girl waited until her laptop started up before she logged in to get to work.
However, before the Gilbert girl could press on the dark blue icon that would open up Microsoft Word so she could finish her essay, Brianna was suddenly interrupted when the familiar sound of a Skype call rang throughout her bedroom and the familiar light blue tab popped up onto her screen. Brianna couldn't help the squeal of excitement that escaped her lips when she saw her sister's sparkling brown eyes in her icon before she quickly pressed accept and immediately greeted her sister with a shout, "Lee!"
The other Gilbert girl, who was resided in Mystic Falls, Virginia, - Elena - shook her head with a soft chuckle as she stared into her sister's shining hazel eyes. "Hey, Bree," Elena greeted her sister back with a slight wave of her hand while she grinned across at the brunette girl.
The relationship between the two Gilbert girls was much better than it had been three months ago when Brianna had decided to leave Mystic Falls - hence the reason why the sisters were currently grinning at one another. It had taken the two girls much longer than Brianna had wanted to make up - at the two month mark of Brianna being in New Orleans to be exact.
The Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls had been having a bad day last month and all she wanted to do was to be in her sister's presence, so that is how Elena finally ended up calling Brianna - where the two girls spent three and a half hours on the phone as they talked through their problems about Brianna's adoption, Brianna's leaving, along with their feelings over their parents' death. And ever since that day two months ago, the sisters had never been closer.
"So, what's up?" Brianna asked her sister with a raised eyebrow after a few minutes of calm silence had passed between them as she rested her laptop across her thighs and relaxed comfortably on her queen sized bed.
Elena lightly shrugged her shoulders as she stared across at her sister's calm face over her computer screen before she teasingly questioned with a slight pout to her pink lips, "what? Can't I call my sister for no reason?"
The Gilbert girl in New Orleans playfully rolled her hazel eyes at her sister's pouting face before she stubbornly mumbled out with her own pout, "yes."
The Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls immediately grinned when her sister gave her the answer she wanted before she exclaimed, "thank you." Elena released a small chuckle when Brianna continued to pout at her before she wondered as she wanted to know about how her sister was doing, "so, how was school today? Did you have soccer practice?"
"School is school," Brianna muttered with a small shrug of her shoulders before she told her sister with a small chuckle, "you know me, everything is boring except for history class." That was just how Brianna had always been since she started going to school. It was like everything else was just white noise until she got to her history classes. It was the one subject that could always hold her interest no matter the topic.
The two Gilbert sisters shared a small chuckle together at the truth of what Brianna had said before the aforementioned girl complained, "and don't get me started on practice." Brianna leaned her head against the white headboard behind her as she moaned out, "practice was so long. I barely got home a few minutes ago."
Elena's brown eyes widened in surprise. "Wow, really?" The brunette girl inquired as she took a quick glance at the time on her laptop - where she noticed it was already six o'clock in Mystic Falls but five o'clock Louisiana time. "Why did they need you guys for that long?" Elena wondered with her brows furrowed together as she remembered how excited Brianna was when she had finally convinced her new school to start a soccer program, "didn't you guys just start the team?"
Brianna rolled her hazel eyes before she threw her hands in the air and exclaimed, "that's what I'm saying!" The Gilbert girl shook her head in annoyance at how rough practice was already getting - and she used to be on the varsity team in Mystic Falls. "It's stupid that we're being pushed like professional athletes," Brianna complained before she released a small sigh and murmured, "but I'm not gonna start complaining when the school finally agreed to a soccer team."
Elena silently nodded her head as she listened to her sister rant before she tried to comfort the hazel eyed girl as she murmured with a small smile, "you'll get used it. They're just probably trying to find the right routine for you guys."
Brianna released another sigh before she mumbled, "well, Coach Finstock better hurry up and figure what he's doing or people are going to start quitting." The Gilbert girl was quite nervous that the soccer program would end up getting canceled by all the people that were complaining about the practices. Brianna made a mental note to ask around about her teammates' opinion on the team so she can somehow convince Coach to listen to their opinions before anyone started to quit. I'll probably get Lucas to compel him if he doesn't listen, the brunette girl thought as she knew just how stubborn Bobby Finstock could get.
Brianna shook her head after a few minutes of silence had passed as she wanted to focus on her family instead of what was going on with the Bobcats soccer team. "Anyways," the brunette girl mumbled as she lightly waved her hand before she shot Elena a small smile and asked at rapid speed, "how's everyone doing in Mystic Falls? How's Jer doing? And Jenna? And Caroline? What about you? Are you still doing okay?"
The Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls couldn't help but let out an amused chuckle before she teasingly told her sister, "slow your roll, you worry wart." Elena shot the hazel eyed girl a quick grin before she began to answer Brianna's questions, "everyone is fine. Jeremy is doing better than he was a few months ago but I think it's because he's distracted with Vicki..."
However, though, before Elena could continue to answer her sister's questions regarding their family, the Gilbert girl in New Orleans quickly interrupted Elena when she heard that familiar name. "Wait," Brianna called out before she asked with her hazel irises slightly widened, "as in Vicki Donovan?"
"Oh, yeah," Elena muttered with a small nod of her head before she added with a humorless chuckle, "the one and only." It wasn't that Elena didn't like the older Donovan girl, it was just that she didn't think Vicki was good for her little brother right now. Vicki was just too much to handle and Elena didn't want Jeremy to end up hurt when he was still healing from their parents' death.
"Fucking junky," Brianna growled underneath her breath as she thought about the Donovan girl. Brianna knew exactly what type of person Vicki was. She was the person that used to always try to get free weed or pills from Brianna all the time. The Gilbert girl knew she wasn't a saint when she sold drugs to the students at her school but she just didn't want that around her young and innocent brother.
Brianna released a heavy sigh at the thought of her brother with someone like Vicki Donovan before she focused back onto her sister with seriousness shining throughout her hazel irises. "I'm glad Jer is doing better," the Gilbert girl commented before she ordered, "just watch out for him, okay? I don't want him to get dragged into Vicki's bullshit."
Elena immediately nodded her head in agreement before she mumbled with her own heavy sigh, "I've been trying." The Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls briefly closed her eyes before she muttered in disappointment, "it's just hard to talk to him." It was times like this that Elena wished Brianna was still in Virginia. Brianna just always knew the right things to say, so Elena felt like a failure that she couldn't do the same for her brother.
Brianna gave her sister a small but comforting smile before she stated, "you just have to keep on trying - no matter if he tries to shut you out." The Gilbert girl in New Orleans knew from her own experience of trying to cheer Jeremy up as kids that he was always the stubborn one in the family but he always comes around. "He's a kid," Brianna reminded her sister before she added with a small shrug, "just give it time and don't give up on him."
Elena nodded her head in understanding as she trusted what her sister was saying since Brianna used to be the one to calm their brother down whenever he would throw a tantrum when they were younger. "I'll do my best," the Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls mumbled as she hoped and prayed that she could live up to what her sister would do.
Brianna gave her sister another assuring smile - even though she really wished that she could pull Elena into a hug right about now to comfort the brown eyed girl when she needed her. However, Brianna knew that wasn't possible since they were hundreds of miles apart and she didn't want to dwell on that aspect during their daily chats, so Brianna decided to change the direction of their conversation before either of them had to end their Skype call to something that wouldn't cause either of them sadness.
"How's my best friend doing?" The Gilbert girl in New Orleans inquired about the spunky blonde teenager. Brianna shot her sister a small smirk before she continued her questioning, "has she been getting into trouble?"
Elena released a small chuckle, like Brianna had hoped for, before she murmured with a roll of her brown eyes at the thought of what the blonde had been doing lately, "you know how Caroline is when school starts up. She's already on momanger level with making sure cheerleading is going 'Caroline perfect'." The two Gilbert girls immediately chuckled as they both could picture the control freak that is Caroline Forbes before Elena mentioned as she remembered what Caroline had told her the other day, "oh yeah, and she said that she's waiting for you to come back since you took all the stupid with you."
Brianna couldn't help the wide smirk that lifted onto her lips as she could imagine Caroline's face as she told her sister that. It was a thing that they would always say whenever they would have to be separated for anything - even during class projects. The Gilbert girl in New Orleans released a soft sigh at the thought of her blonde and erratic best friend before she mumbled with a pout, "I miss her." Brianna never really realized how much that she missed having the Forbes girl around unless they were talking on the phone or on Skype and they had to end their calls. It was always so depressing when they would say goodbye since they've never been apart for this long.
"Give her a call," the Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls commanded with a chuckle like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Elena playfully rolled her brown eyes as she recalled a memory to her sister, "she's always complaining that she misses seeing you on the soccer field during cheerleading practice."
Brianna shook her head with a soft chuckle as she recalled all the fun moments that she and Caroline would have during their separate practices. They would always end up beside each other by the end of practice - no matter if they were on opposite ends of the field. It was like they migrated towards each other - or it was because Brianna would kick the soccer ball too far so they could talk to one another about useless gossip or plans for that night.
"I'll call her later," Brianna told her sister as she felt like she and Caroline were overdo of a phone call to catch up with each other. Brianna and Caroline didn't talk everyday like Brianna and Elena did since Caroline was always so busy with being the captain of the cheerleading squad along with volunteering throughout Mystic Falls. They tried to have set dates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to talk over the phone or Skype but Brianna didn't think Caroline would mind an extra day this week.
Brianna, now that she had a plan to call her blonde best friend, decided to focus back onto her family in Mystic Falls as she inquired, "and how's Jenna handling everything? Is she still struggling with school and taking care of you troublemakers at home?" The hazel eyed girl knew her aunt hadn't been handling things well in the beginning but she hadn't had the chance to ask how Jenna was doing lately since Jenna always just wants to know Brianna is doing in Louisiana.
Elena immediately rolled her brown eyes at her sister before she muttered in amusement, "I think you were the only troublemaker here." Even though Elena was just joking, it was partly true. Brianna was always the sibling getting in the most trouble with their parents with the hazel eyed girl sneaking out, partying, getting in trouble with the police along with selling drugs - but their parents never really caught on to the selling drugs part.
"But Jenna's doing much better now," Elena told her sister as she focused back onto Brianna's questions about their aunt. "She's down to one bottle of wine instead of her usual three," Elena mentioned before she commented with a small shrug of her shoulders, "so, I think that is progress."
Brianna nodded her head in agreement with her sister as she stated, "for Jenna Sommers, that is major progress." The Gilbert girl in New Orleans' statement immediately pulled out a laughter between the two sisters as they knew that was the truest statement in history about their wine-loving aunt. Brianna didn't think there had been a day that she didn't see Jenna with a glass of wine in her hand.
It took a few minutes of the Gilbert sisters laughing over memories of their drunk aunt before they slowly calmed down into a comfortable silence. However, the silence only lasted for about a minute before Elena softly cleared her throat and uttered, "alright I have a confession to make." Elena briefly closed her brown eyes as she took a deep breath before she confessed, "I did call you for a reason."
Brianna's hazel irises immediately widened at her sister's confession before she quickly pointed towards her laptop screen and swore in a screech, "I fucking knew it!" The Gilbert girl in New Orleans shook her head with a small chuckle before she moved her fingers in a come-here motion and muttered, "alright, lay it on me. What's the problem in boring Mystic Falls?"
"Mystic Falls isn't boring," Elena mumbled as she defended her hometown before she quickly shook her head so she could focus back onto the reason that she called her sister. "It's Bonnie," the brown eyed girl mumbled out with a small sigh before she told Brianna her problem with the Bennett teenager, "she doesn't like Stefan."
Brianna silently nodded her head as she took in her sister's current issue before she wondered, "that's the boyfriend, right?" The Gilbert girl in New Orleans remembered hearing that name for the past couple of weeks during their daily Skype calls - where Elena would gush over how cute and sweet this Stefan guy was.
Brianna listened as Elena mumbled out a small yes before she immediately rolled her hazel eyes. "Of course Bonnie can't be happy for her best friend," the Gilbert girl in New Orleans complained about the girl who her sister called her best friend. It was one of the reasons why she and Bennett girl never got along - how she didn't support Elena even when it was something stupid. It was just how Brianna felt since she would support Caroline no matter how much trouble they would end up getting into.
Brianna knew complaining about her sister's best friend wasn't going to help her problem, though, so she pushed away her annoyance for the Bennett girl before she clapped her hands together as she planned how she was going to help her sister. "Alright, here's what you're going to do," Brianna began before she explained her master plan, "you are going to call Bonnie and invite her over to dinner with this boyfriend of yours." The hazel eyed girl quickly lifted up her finger before her sister could say anything and told Elena the secret weapon to her plan, "but you aren't going to tell Bonnie that Stefan is coming as well."
Elena immediately furrowed her brows at her sister through her webcam before she mumbled, "I-I don't know. I don't wanna lie to Bonnie." The Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls didn't like the idea of tricking her best friend. She had always been honest with Bonnie and she didn't want to ruin their friendship by lying when Bonnie could end up getting mad at her.
Brianna rolled her hazel eyes before she exclaimed, "it's not lying." The hazel eyed girl lightly shrugged her shoulders before she explained why it wasn't lying, "you never said who would be coming to dinner as well." Brianna could see that her sister was still on the fence about the whole plan, so she shot Elena an assuring smile before she stated, "just trust me on this, Lee. I mean, it's like when I brought Cory home for dinner with mom and dad when I told Cory it was just us."
The Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls couldn't help to immediately burst into giggles at the memory of Brianna bringing her then boyfriend home. "Cory was so mad when he saw mom and dad around the table," Elena recalled as she remembered seeing the shocked expression on the blue eyed teenager's face when he realized that he was meeting their parents for the first time.
Brianna carelessly shrugged her shoulders as if she wasn't even sorry for her actions from last year. "That's what he gets for cheating on me with Slutty Suzy," the Gilbert girl in New Orleans exclaimed with a roll of her hazel eyes at the memory of her cheating ex-boyfriend and finding out he was cheating on her from Cory's best friend and Elena's then boyfriend - Matthew Donovan.
Elena shook her head with a small chuckle over her sister's petty antics before she wondered, "but did you have to tell dad that Cory was interested in Medicine?" The brown eyed girl had thought her sister's plan at the time was to just make Cory embarrassed for a few minutes but it ended up lasting way longer than that.
"Yes," Brianna uttered with her own chuckle as she thought back to that dinner. "I knew dad would end up going into this long story about his medical career," the hazel eyed girl commented before she stated with a small shrug, "and I knew it would bore Cory to death."
"Where did you end up going, anyway?" The Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls curiously wondered after she let out a small chuckle before she commented, "you just left all of a sudden when dad got to the description of his favorite medical procedures." Elena remembered sitting next to her sister and joking around the whole night before Brianna ended up disappearing for almost two whole hours.
A smirk immediately lifted onto Brianna's lips at her sister's question before she proudly stated, "I went to Cory's house and slept with his sister." It was one of Brianna's plans that she was the most proudest of. It didn't hurt that Cory's sister, Sara, had been crushing on her since they started high school and it was a bonus that she was hot as well. It was the sweetest revenge that Brianna had ever performed - along with sleeping with Sara multiple times while Cory was home.
Elena shook her head with a roll of her brown eyes when she finally got her answer to what happened last year. "You are trouble, Bree," the Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls joked as she pointed her finger towards her webcam. Elena let out a small chuckle as she remembered how her sister would be like in relationships or her flings before Elena curiously wondered, "so, are you up to your old games down in New Orleans?"
Brianna immediately shook her head with a small smile playing on her lips. "Nah," the hazel eyed girl murmured before she stated, "it's not like that here." Brianna hadn't been up to her old games ever since she arrived in New Orleans. At first it was because she wanted answers about her birth parents but the feeling of wanting to play around disappeared the day that she walked into that bookstore during her second day in New Orleans and met a certain brunette beauty.
"Why not?" Elena immediately inquired with a frown embedded onto her face as she never knew her sister to not want to play around when it came to her relationships since Brianna wasn't one to get serious about anyone. However, Elena soon got her answer when she noticed her sister's face - it looked like hers whenever she would think or speak about Stefan.
"Oh, my God!" Elena practically screeched with her brown eyes widened and a large grin playing on her lips when she realized why her sister wasn't still playing her usual games. "There's someone isn't there?" The Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls hurriedly and excitedly interrogated about Brianna's potential relationship, "who are they? Who has my sister's heart?"
Brianna instantly rolled her hazel eyes at her sister's exaggeration and giddy attitude about her love life before she explained with a small shrug of her shoulders like it wasn't a big deal, "it's just this girl I met when I first got here." Brianna didn't really like to show her emotions when it came to relationships, so she didn't show how important Davina was becoming for her with her answer - at least that's what Brianna thought, anyway.
"Well, what's her name?" The Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls continued with her interrogation in an excited voice. Elena always got like this when her sister started to become interested in someone. She knew how her sister was, so she knew it was a big deal whenever Brianna would admit to liking anyone - and Elena could tell it was big by how her sister's eyes were practically shining right now.
Brianna could feel a warmness rise onto her tan cheeks at her sister's question before she mumbled with a small smile pulling onto her lips at the very thought of the aforementioned girl, "Davina."
"Oh, my God!" Elena practically screeched, once again, before she exclaimed as she pointed towards her sister through her webcam, "look at you!" The Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls shot Brianna a wide grin as she was excited that her sister was actually interested in a person for real this time and not just for fun before she murmured with a soft smile, "you must really like her." Elena glanced at her sister's face for a moment before she teased, "you're literally blushing right now."
Brianna immediately gasped at her sister's accusation before she exclaimed in embarrassment as she could feel her tan cheeks heating up from the thought of the Claire witch, "shut up! I am not!" Brianna couldn't help to be embarrassed from the way she was reacting to just saying Davina's name. The girl just had this affect on Brianna that she absolutely loved. Davina's innocent and kind nature was so refreshing for the Gilbert girl from her usual relationships. It reminded Brianna of a summer romance that was never ending.
"You are so adorable," Elena cooed as she cradled her grinning cheeks in her palms at the fact that her sister could be getting into a happy and healthy relationship soon instead of her usual flings and feeling-less relationships. Elena couldn't remember even one time when her sister was into someone where she would blush like this, so she planned on getting all the information that she could.
"What's she like?" The Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls interrogated with happiness dripping from her voice, "when do I get to meet her?" Elena felt like she was the Forbes teenager right now by how much gossip she wanted from her sister. Elena's brown irises quickly widened a second later as her mind was running a mile of minute before she asked Brianna a very important question in Caroline's book, "oh! Have you kissed her yet?"
Brianna shook her head with a small chuckle at all of the questions that her sister was throwing her way. "We are so not doing this," the Gilbert girl in New Orleans murmured in a singing voice with a small smile playing on her lips. Brianna just, surprisingly, felt shy to even talk about her adoration for Davina. She just wasn't someone that liked to gush over people like her sister and Caroline do. Brianna usually only get into a relationship for the sex, so being around and feeling for Davina was something that Brianna had never experienced before and she didn't really know how to process it all.
"Aw, come on!" Elena complained with a loud groan before a deep pout settled onto her lips as she had hoped that her sister would have gossiped about her crush. The Gilbert girl in Mystic Falls shot her sister another excited smile before she teasingly exclaimed, "I just wanna know about the girl who stole my sister's heart and made her into such a big softy."
Brianna immediately rolled her hazel eyes at her sister's teasing before she uttered with a smirk and light wave of her hand, "goodbye, now, Elena." The Gilbert girl in New Orleans didn't give her sister a chance to say anything else before she swiftly ended the Skype call and the last thing Brianna saw was her sister's begging, big brown eyes and her mouth gaped in surprise.
Brianna released out an amused chuckle as she could only imagine what her sister was mumbling to her computer before she closed her own laptop and tossed it to the side. The Gilbert girl in New Orleans released a small sigh as she moved her body down her bed until her head was against her pillows instead of the white headboard.
The Princess of New Orleans couldn't help the soft smile that lifted onto her lips as she stared up at her ceiling that was covered in stars that Davina had placed there a few weeks ago during one of their sleepovers. Brianna couldn't be anymore happier than she was at this moment. She was finally starting to feel like she belonged somewhere, she loved her role as the Princess of New Orleans, and most importantly - she was happy how her and Davina's relationship was smoothly moving along.
It had been a little over three months since she and Davina had admitted to liking each other and it was still going perfectly without all of the awkward moments that Davina had originally been worried about. They were still close like friends but there was the added bonus of them acting like love-sick fools - or that's what Lucas would call it - with all the loving touches and shameless flirting.
Brianna wasn't one to ever label her relationships, anyways, but that was mostly because she never really cared about them like she did now. However, Brianna didn't mind that she and Davina were just friends right now when they were enjoying every second of what they had. The Claire girl had recently taught Brianna to cherish the little things in life and one of those things for Brianna was being around Davina Claire - and she wouldn't have it any other way.
