"After finding out Regina's secret, our relationship kicked up a few notches, any free moment we had together we had to control ourselves, well me mostly, not to rip each other's clothes off. Neal stopped speaking to me after dinner with the Mills' became known throughout school, mostly thanks to Zelena and Killian" Amber eyes rolled and a grin formed, "not that it really bothered me all that much, what bothered me most was when they decided to make fun of me and to intimidate me, the second of which of course, did NOT go down well with any of the Mill's, especially Regina"

"You're going to make her late Mother, and she won't appreciate not being able to suck the face off Emma before class" Zelena said, a book was thrown from across the room narrowly missing the redhead who proceeded to cackle with glee,

"Zelena enough" Cora said as she set a cup of coffee in front of her eldest child, "as if break times aren't enough" Cora added with a smirk causing Zelena to burst out laughing once more, a scoff and chair scraping sounded from the kitchen behind them as Regina stormed out of the kitchen almost making Ruby lose her balance on the stool, Cora chuckled and picked up the paper, reading about 'animal attacks' happening outside Arizona, she paused causing Ruby to look at her mother,

"What's wrong?" Ruby said, appearing at her mother's shoulder immediately,

"Animal attacks are happening in Arizona again" Cora said, looking to a now worried Zelena who say up straighter and took the paper from her mother,

"It can't be" Zelena said, looking from Ruby to Cora and back to the paper, "The Volturi would be all over this if it was" Cora nodded and then sighed,

"Perhaps we need to go away for a while?" Ruby suggested, Zelena shook her head,

"No, Regina won't leave Emma, so don't even try asking her, I won't leave her either, and I doubt Killian would be if we both were to stay" Zelena said, Ruby nodded knowing how protective her entire family had gotten of the blonde, Ruby sighed,

"Do you really think it's Newborns?" Ruby asked Cora, Cora sighed and sat back, her long brunette hair falling over her shoulders,

"I'm not sure darling, but whatever it is, I've a bad feeling about it"

"Babe…" Emma managed through a moan as Regina's tongue pushed its way into her mouth once more, their morning make-out sessions were starting to get out of hand, so much so that Regina needed an extra five minutes to compose herself before exiting her Mercedes, Regina pulled back and bit Emma's bottom lip gently, "fuck" Emma muttered and had to physically distance herself from her girlfriend for fear of jumping her bones again,

"Mmmm, I'm sorry Emma, but you do things to me that I never thought were possible" Regina said, Emma rolled her eyes playfully,

"Keep it in your pants Mills" Emma said, her hand slowly sliding higher on Regina's leg, Regina gripped it tightly when it reached the obvious bulge in her tight jeans,

"Keep your hands to yourself Miss Swan" Regina said entwining their fingers and bringing their linked hands to her mouth, kissing Emma's gently, "now, before my mother accuses me of making you late, you better go" Regina said, leaning over and kissing Emma sweetly on the check, Emma smiled and turned her head kissing her fully before pulling away, lifting her bag from the floor and opening the door,

"See you at lunch babe" Emma said, blowing a kiss and closing the door, Regina chuckled and shook her head, she was head over heels in love with a human, and even that didn't scare her.

"You know, I thought you were better than that Emma" Neal's voice came from behind her causing her to stiffen, Emma took a deep breath, closed her locker and turned to glare at Neal, it was almost the end of the day, she had nearly managed a full week without having to speak to him, or anyone of her so called 'friends' who enjoyed making fun of her or bitching about the Mills' than anything else when in her company, Emma's eyes darted around the corridor to see people starting to gather around, 'oh this isn't going to end well' Emma thought to herself,

"I don't need to answer to you Neal, you made it perfectly clear that we couldn't be friends as long as I was dating Regina" Emma said, she was about to push past Neal but his hand slamming against her locker stopped that, Emma jumped not expecting it, he got right up into her face and leaned close, Emma wasn't easily intimidated by anyone, but the look in Neal's eyes made her very uneasy,

"I know what they are Emma" Neal whispered, Emma glared,

"You know nothing Neal" Emma snarled, his eyes darkened and he straightened his fist at the side of her head clenched as if to throw a punch , when suddenly he was all but thrown across to the other side of the corridor, a very angry Regina Mills, flanked by both Zelena and Killian stood before Emma, Killian spun around to check Emma over, the look on her face along with her body language was all he needed, turning back to Neal, he snarled as he stepped towards Neal trying very hard not to bear his fangs that almost burned as much as his throat did,

"Don't even think about it!" Cora Mills booming voice came from over the crowd, all three Mills' growled, Regina placed herself protectively in front of Emma, with Zelena and Killian at her side, forming a shield, Emma rolled her eyes but couldn't help but smile at the obvious show of protection from the siblings, Neal who obviously hadn't heard Cora pushed himself to his feet and charged at Killian, Killian smirked and stepped quickly to the side, causing Neal to rush into the locker, banging into it side first, but he shook himself, he turned and glared at Regina, Regina glared back she smiled evilly, her white teeth sparkling against the brightness of the lights, a hand to his bag pulling him back, stopped him from running at her,

"If you know what is good for you, you will go to my office Mr. Cassidy" Cora said, "NOW!" Neal had the sense to pale slightly, and nodded, Cora let him go, he glared at Emma and the Mills' once more before moving away and walking towards Cora's office, Cora turned to the crowd that had formed and raised an eyebrow, everyone scattered just as quickly as they had gathered causing Cora to smile, Cora then looked to a wide-eyed Emma behind Regina, who looked far too pale for her liking, Regina looked behind her, her eyes widening, moved to Emma's side, she quickly wrapped her arms around Emma's waist, Cora looked at Killian and Zelena who looked just as worried when they noticed Emma, she sighed,

"Why is it, when something happens with Mr. Cassidy, it's always you three?" Cora said, she couldn't hide the slight pride in her voice, which caused Zelena and Killian to smile, looking at their mother, their smiles faded quickly when they looked back to Regina and Emma, Emma looked like she about to be sick,

"Are you ok baby?" Regina whispered, pressing a kiss to her hair, Emma started to nod her head but stopped when it made her feel dizzy, words failing to form,

"Perhaps take her to see Mrs. Knotgrass Regina?" Cora suggested lovingly, she walked over to Emma and lifted her chin, Emma forced a smile and Cora smiled sweetly and looked to Regina who nodded and pulled Emma away, Cora looked to Killian and Zelena, she held up her hand when Killian went to speak, "I saw what happened, stop making a habit of getting involved in Mr. Cassidys affairs son" Cora said, Killian bristled and looked to his mother, fire in his eyes,

"He had her corned Ma, he would have hit her, we had to do something" Killian said, Zelena had fire in her eyes and had a hard time controlling her temper, her hand twitching, Cora smiled,

"I know, I heard" Cora said with anger, her own voice betraying her, "I deal with him Killian" Cora said when Killian went to protest, "get to class before I have to deal with you two as well"

Neal had managed to get himself suspended for a week, and a meeting with Widow Lucas and the Nolan's was set up for three days' time where Cora Mills intended to find out just how much they knew, but the look on Neal's face, Granny was about to find out just how her grandson was behaving,

Emma however, sitting with a cold towel on her head, had told Regina that she was genuinely scared of what he was going to do, to which Regina responded how one would imagine,

"I'll kill him" Regina snarled and stood, Emma reached for her hand and pulled her back down onto the bench beside her,

"I...I didn't tell you to go off on one Regina, I...I told you cause I was scared of him, I've never been scared of anyone in my life, but, there was something about him today that really made me scared of him" Emma said, trying and failing to keep her emotions in check, Regina immediately pulled Emma into her arms, not caring that they were sitting outside the nurses station in the middle of school,

"I swear to you Emma" Regina said pulling back and taking Emma's face in her hands, "no harm will ever come to you" Regina said, leaning over and kissing Emma's nose, causing Emma to smile, "and I will make sure that everyone knows that if they come near you, it's not just me they have to deal with" Regina said, Emma looked at her, and then looked behind her causing her to chuckle when she saw the four other Mills' siblings and Lacey standing behind her, having no idea when they arrived, Killian looking like he's about to explode, even August looked on edge,

"We all back her Emma, no harm will come to you ever" Killian said, his voice hard, Emma nodded and couldn't help but smile, a small blush taking home on her cheeks,

"How much trouble did you two get into?" Emma asked, Killian and Zelena grinned causing Emma to chuckle, "there is going to be a time when being the Vice-Principals kid will backfire" Emma said standing up, her hand taking by Regina right away, "thank you" Emma said quietly, it would have been missed by the normal ear, but not to the six people around her, "truly, thank you" Emma said, Ruby walked towards her and wrapped her arms around her shoulder,

"You have nothing to be scared of Emma" all the Mills' looked to Ruby, anger flashed across everyone's face, Regina's fist clenched as she locked eyes with Zelena, "No" Ruby spun suddenly, "don't...or I will tell Mom" Ruby said, glaring at Regina who nodded,

"Don't what?" Emma asked, looking from Ruby to Regina and back, "Don't what Ruby" Emma said pulling Ruby towards her, Ruby sighed but before she could answer Regina spoke,

"Our thoughts for Mr Cassidy wasn't as pure as you would hope" Regina said, knowing that if she made eye contact Emma would be able to read her like a book, she didn't need to look in her eyes however, it took Emma a second and she gasped,

"Oh, please tell you do NOT mean what I think you do" Emma said, taking a step back,

"Look love..." Killian started,

"No... I can't believe that you would want to kill someone because of me!" Emma said, her emotions going on overdrive, Regina could see the panic attack and Ruby could feel it, both women grabbed for Emma as her eyes rolled and she dropped, being caught between the Mill sisters and laid gentle onto the bench,

"Mom's gonna kill us" Ruby said, causing Killian to chuckle, overreacting about Neal Cassidy was a habit the Mills siblings had got, but when it came to the blonde, they would do anything and everything to keep her safe.

"WHAT!" Cora Mills roared when she found out what her children had wanted to do to Neal Cassidy, they had decided that coming clean to their parents was probably the wise thing to do, especially after Emma had calmed down enough but yet threatened to tell if they didn't, something which Ruby informed them she was serious about, not willing to risk it, they had agreed to tell their parents, something which now, they all were regretting.

"Now dear..." Henry started, Cora spun and growled at her husband, a click sounded knowing she had bared her fangs, Henry rolled his eyes, the flare for dramatics from his children, obviously was inherited from his wife, "put them away Cora" Henry said softly, Cora locked eyes with her husband who raised his eyebrow, before another click was heard,

"I'm sorry Henry" Cora said seriously, reaching for his hand, Henry lifted his wife's to his lips and kissed it gently, Cora smiled at him before her face got serious once more, Henry couldn't help but chuckle when his wife spun around to his children, who at least had the decency to look a little bit terrified of their mother, "I don't know how many times I have to say this, but I will continue until it goes into your heads, CASSIDY IS OFF LIMITS!" Cora roared the last one, no one looked at the elder Mills, Cora took a deep breath and opened her mouth once more, "I understand your frustration, all of you, I do, but no good will come of going after him" Cora said stepping closer to her children, they all finally looked up and Cora smiled at the look of guilt that flash across all of their eyes, "I know how dear Emma has become to all of you, to all of us" Cora said looking back over her shoulder to a smiling Henry, "but we deal with him the correct way, cause I swear, if any of you try anything, Rumple will be the least of your worries" Cora added, a twinkle in her eyes,

"He would have deserved it" August piped up, to the shock of all his family, "what, I like Emma" August said with a shrug, no one could help but smile at the youngest Mills member, Emma had become an important part of their family, they all wanted to protect her, even if it meant breaking a treaty that could get them all killed.

Two weeks had passed since the incident between Emma, Neal and the Mills siblings, the meeting between David and Mary Nolan, and Widow Lucas has caused a bit of tension between the Nolan's and the Mills, but of course, Henry Mills would not have that, he had arrived at the sheriff station a week later to invite David, Mary and Emma for dinner, his argument was not only where their daughters dating but a bad relationship between the town's law enforcement office and Mayor's office was not a good look for a small town, especially one as small as Storybrooke.

Emma had agreed that she would go straight to Regina's, like she had been doing most nights, where they would sit out by the cabin just off the lake, in front of the fire-pit, and just hang out, since she had officially had dinner with the Mills family, and help them prepare for her parents arrival, Emma still felt guilty that all of them, including Lacey, had been 'grounded', she really didn't want them to get into trouble and because of that, Regina and Emma had to get use to phone conversations and not being able to hug or kiss, Cora literally had grounded Regina from Emma, something that had infuriated the brunette and had caused a few heated arguments with Cora, finally after a week, Regina and Emma had to literally be hosed down to break them up, which was still happening a week later,

"Can you two at least wait until after the rest of us have went to bed" Zelena said lowering the hose with a chuckle, Regina glared at her sister and Emma, even though she was soaking, couldn't help but laugh, she went and got changed and came down to help Henry in the kitchen, who had already chased Ruby and Lacey,

"Favouritism gets you everywhere" Cora said with a chuckle, placing a kiss on Emma's cheek as she poured herself a glass of cider, placing a kiss on her husband's cheek also who grinned, Emma grabbed a chopping board and started to chop up the onion, garlic and peppers, Emma chuckled and Henry turned,

"What are you giggling about?" Henry asked with a small chuckle of his own, he was very fond of Emma, he loved her like a daughter already, he knew, as old as he truly was, that Emma was it for Regina, even without Ruby's feelings, he could tell that the blonde loved his daughter and would do anything for her, something which made him very proud of the young woman in front of him.

"Just...I read a book, years ago, that had vampires in it" Emma said, Henry smiled, remembering all the questions that Emma had for him the first night they had officially met,

"I would just like to once more, thank Emma, for joining us tonight, it has truly been a wonderful evening, and I can say I haven't had as much fun in over a hundred years" Henry said with a smile causing everyone but Emma and Cora to roll their eyes, Emma smiled and nodded her thanks to the head of the Mills family, Henry reminded her of her father, Tom, he was always ready to listen, offer guidance, give a hug, but never, ever judge, that's what she liked most about Henry Mills, he was easy to talk to.

"Regina mentioned that you had some questions" Henry said as he stood beside Emma on the front porch as Emma looked out over the lake, the roof of the small cabin shinning under the light of the moon, Cora had insisted that Emma as their guest was not to help clear up after dinner, Regina however, was tasked with washing, Emma chuckled as she was ushered out of the kitchen by Cora, she now found herself outside, staring out onto the lake with Henry, the lake wasn't as clear from here but it was still beautiful,

"Not really questions, more, curiosity" Emma said turned and leaning her side against the rail, Henry smiled, he had a good feeling about Emma, he was one of the few vampires that were no longer bothered with human scent, he could go all day and never bat an eye, his wife was the same, giving she worked in a school full of humans, his children were learning, it was still hard, especially when emotions grew thick,

"I...we got talking in the car, before we arrived, and Regina was telling me about...about how you came to be a vampire" Emma said looking at him cautiously, Henry smiled it was not a fond memory he had, but one that he would share with the curiously blonde, "more so, when you came back to them" Henry nodded not one of his finest moments,

"It's not something I am proud of, but it is something that had kept me going during the more difficult times, back then, vampires walked among normal people, and unlike books which I'm sure you've read long before finding out what we are" He said, Emma blushed and Henry chuckled, "well, I can tell you this, we don't combust in sunlight, it does hurt a little if it's a particularity warm day, much like if you were to get sunburnt, garlic won't repel us nor will a stake through the heart kill us, the only way to kill us, is with fire" Henry added, Emma never took her eyes from Henry, he looked out over the lake, his hand wrapped tightly around his glass of cider, Emma wondered if this was maybe unfair to him, as if sensing her war he looked at her, "it won't hurt me to ask questions Emma, it might even help you understand Regina a little bit more" Henry said, Emma let out a breath she didn't even know she was holding,

"I don't want to upset you or anything" Emma said, her voice shaky, Henry smiled, set the glass on the small table beside him and walked over to Emma, he took her hands in his and squeezed them gently, he could feel the blood rushing through her veins, she was scared, not of him, but of something he couldn't put his finger on it,

"Emma, my dear, I promise you, you will not be upsetting me by simply being curious, it's not every day you find out your girlfriend is a being you have until now, believed to only be in fiction and folktales, as l will tell you once more, and as many times as you must hear it from me, anything you say to me, will never upset me, when it comes to what I am, it took me a long, long time to accept what I am, but it gave me my family, that is something I will never be upset over." Henry said with a wide smile pulling her, for the first time into a hug he had been so eager to give since she walked through his door, Emma sighed and melted into him, Henry felt the tension leave the blonde, he smiled, he held Emma for a few more minutes before pulling back and smiling at her, "Now, what questions do you have for me?"

A/N: I left it there only because I didn't want too much in one chapter, Henry's past, along with the rest of the Mills will be in the next chapter - hopefully! Let me know your thoughts on this!
