Celestia drank her cool can of grape juice next to Isogai, watching the guys play ping pong. She had also tried to play a round of arcade earlier with her group, but achieved a rather embarrassingly low score because of how easily flustered she was. Steering the racer car was a very difficult feat for her as well as the claw machine. Karma didn't miss the chance to make fun of her constantly before he challenged her to a shooting game. She still lost due to the confusion with instructions. And when they finally reached the punching bag, Celestia had finally won against him but she felt the little pride she had was damaged. She left them, curious as to why she felt a heavy tug of defeat, before getting invited by Mimura to play ping pong. After relieving her stress onto the ping pong and having a streak of undefeated victories, she decided to cool off with a can of grape juice.
When the final match was over, the classmates agreed to go their separate ways. Celestia stared at her can, not feeling completely refreshed. She wandered up to the sorting bins for trash and recyclables, before it was too difficult for her to determine where she would throw the can and thus, went to purchase another drink. As she inserted her coins into the machine, she realized that she didn't have enough change so she pressed the refund button while unnecessarily knocking the machine. She had an extra coin than what she began with. Celestia looked around before inserting all the coins and then cancelling to hopefully pick out any extra change. As she did, very few times, she purchased her drink and drank it all in one go. Then she reached her previous dilemma: where to throw away her cans. She suddenly vaguely remembered a scene on television, where they crushed their soda cans before tossing them into the trash. She had been confused by the sorting system of recyclables and apparently, it was common sense to her classmates so she never asked them and only could refer to television shows. She liked the dramas they put on about high school children considered as dropouts, and all they seemed to do was fight for the sake of their school gang. Celestia had thought that they had a similar setting as her and thus believed that if she followed their example, maybe she would do alright in society. Celestia let the can fall from her hands before someone caught it.
"Cans don't go in the trash. They go into this recycling bin." Nagisa smiled, seemingly as if he understood the struggle Celestia was going through before tossing it in its rightful place.
"Is this what the ex model student did during her time in her high up position? Polluting our poor earth? Also scamming spare change out of a machine?" Karma emerged from behind Nagisa, whispering the last part. Celestia immediately refuted her answer, a little too suspiciously fast. Karma took one good look at the panic from what he realized was very expressive eyes on a not so expressive face, before laughing at the contrasting imagery. And a sprinkle on top, she was quite the cheapskate. Nagisa sighed and patted her shoulder. "You can always ask us to borrow money…"
"I don't know what you are talking about." Celestia averted her gaze, clearly not wanting to owe up to her actual poor identity. Nagisa nodded, deciding to play along. He knew that she was surprisingly stubborn even if she was caught in the act, which made him curiously and innocently wonder if she would ever crack under interrogation. As the atmosphere settled down, Karma leaned against the vending machine with a somewhat exhausted smile.
"Are you dying?" Celestia asked, not enjoying the serene and troubled look on his face. To be perfectly honest, she found it rather repulsive and terrifying. For a psycho like Karma to be able to perfectly nail a peaceful/sorrowful expression was a sign of a sociopath with a talent for manipulation. She wasn't one who was able to observe and identify people's emotions but even for someone who is neither emotionally or intellectually intelligent, it was rather apparent.
"No. We brought Koro-sensei to the 'perfectly designed assassination spots but we couldn't even get a chance to try and attack him with our weapons. Our teacher is always filled with surprises."
"I mean, he is an octopus moving at an insane speed." Nagisa laughed sheepishly. "Well, nothing good comes with thinking too hard and worrying about it when we are tired. Let's call it a night." Good soldiers know when it is time to retreat. Celestia has heard and used the phrase a few times before and to think it would apply in what she thought was a rather relaxing time and referred to sleep, made her decently surprised. She expressed her farewells for a second time that night, not responding to some taunts Karma threw at her, and headed to the girls' room. To her surprise, the moment she entered, Rio pulled her to her side and wrapped her arms around the girl's shoulders. All of the girls were circled around the blond, the mood was unusually serious. They all looked like they were huddling to discuss something confidential, causing Celestia to feel slightly anxious.
"What's going on Rio?" The girl asked in confusion as she glanced at the blond. Rio merely grinned cheekily as she raised her hand as if declaring something. " Now! It's girl talk time. What do you all think about the boys in our class? I think Isogai and Maehara are total cuties and a catch. Right, Celestia? Or maybe even that little desk mate of yours?"
"Huh?" Celestia couldn't process anything. From the switch of the mood to the topic of the boys and to the mention of a cute desk mate. Who, near her desk, was considered cute?
"But he's a little bit psycho. Karma could win just on appearances, if we ignore that part though. Also Nagisa is also pretty cute..." Kaede shuddered at the thought of imagining Karma and his sadistic tendencies before whispering the last part.
"...You think Karma's cute? Where?" Celestia genuinely couldn't comprehend the girl at all. How in the blasphemy did she connect Karma to the concept that applied to frail snowshoe bunnies?
"Cute as in good looking Celestia. We're pushing personalities aside because other than Isogai - who is perfect all around - all of the boys in our class are utterly trash." Rio didn't hesitate to shoot down the boys' images. The girls immediately nodded and Celestia seemed to understand.
"Speaking of which boys are cute, who do you think is good looking, Celestia? You seem indifferent to these kinds of things so I'm actually curious about what you think. Especially since none of us dated, consider this as your initiation to the single gals of Class E club." Kaede laughed, which seemed somewhat forced and a little bit crazed.
"I've dated." Celestia answered, quite sincerely, Rio noted. Silence settled in and Celestia looked around before continuing, the attention unnerving her and forcing her to talk more. "I don't really talk about it though because it was an unpleasant experience. In terms of good looking...I mean I guess I agree with Rio. Isogai, Maehara, and Karma are more attractive than the rest. Isogai is more my type or preference though."
"What?!"
"Who's the lucky guy? What did he do, should I rip his ball sacks out?" Rio gripped her hands tightly, making an example of what she would do. Celestia's face turned blue from the imaginatory pain the boy would experience.
"No, you don't need to. It was Gakushu Asano. And it was merely contractual."
"...contractual?"
"In exchange for money and comfortable living expenses, I had to enforce discipline on students. So blackmailing, breaking up fights, starting fights, following and spying on students so he has access to blackmail materials and the sorts. And because we had come in contact pretty often, it was convenient to just write it off as dating." Celestia listed the things she did by folding one finger and another.
"He's such an awful person to have you do all those things…" Kanzaki lifted her hands to her mouth in horror.
"You could say the same to me. I wasn't forced to do it, although there was slight pressure. I've told you all before, money is my priority. I'm very materialistic."
"Have you done that to us?" Rio asked seriously, releasing her hold of Celestia. A sudden chill filled the room as the two supposedly really close girls had a thin sheet of ice between them.
"Yes."
"I've been wondering about this for a while, Celestia. What do you think about us? Would you and are you still doing it?"
"Like I said, the relationship was in the past-"
"If the relationship continued, would you still do the same thing?"
"I don't know." Celestia replied without hesitating and a look of disappointment and maybe wariness spread amongst the other girls. But Rio, after taking a good look at Celestia's face, broke into a wide smile. "That's fine. That's good enough for me. I've noticed that you've always been honest with me and that's what I like about you because I like to think that you based our relationship off of honesty. And I do know that if you were truly materialistic, you wouldn't have broken off the contract between you and him anyways."
"Rio…" Before Celestia could say anything else, Irene burst through their door holding a large bottle of alcohol. She crossed her arms and ordered the children to go to sleep.
"Aw come on...don't be like. Tell us your romantic stories, teacher."
"Yes, tell us all about it!" The kids immediately tried to flatter their teacher on her experiences and love sniffed in pride as she felt her ego inflate. She sat down and slowly introduced her youth and beauty while Celestia laid out her futon. She was tired and she knew that if her teacher had her ego grow bigger any further then she would see no end to her stories. But before she could slip in and sleep, everyone discovered that Koro sensei was among them listening to Irene's story.
"Teacher, do you have someone you like? Your romantic stories?" Celestia froze, wanting to hear an octopus' romantic story. The idiotic octupla of a teacher grinned shyly before running away.
"Get him, pin him down for the story!" Irene screamed, Celestia moving the quickest out of all of them.
"She seemed...unusually interested." Kaede mused as Rio and Kanzaki nodded, pursuing her. Celestia withdrew her knives, running out of the room and threw two daggers before holding two more knives and chasing him down. The octopus made a sharp turn and she stopped, adjusting to the sudden environment almost bumping into Karma.
"Spawn of Satan. What are you doing here?"
"Just chasing that, Ancient One." Karma pointed at a lightning fast Koro-sensei swiftly evading his students' before disappearing. All the male students were chasing after him out of desperation and Celestia looked at him with curiosity. Karma crossed his arms in amusement as he pointed at a list Maehara was holding.
"We just ranked the girls and found who each guy liked-" Nagisa clamped his hand over the redhead's mouth. He laughed nervously as he tried to graciously tell Karma that the boys didn't want that information to leave the boys and that's the reason they are chasing down the octopus. At least one of the many reasons. Celestia hummed as her eyes were locked on the paper, before Maehara noticed and clutched onto it for dear life.
"You're surprisingly nosy." Karma observed before she looked away.
"Well, the girls did something pretty similar."
"Oh? I'm curious."
"You're not-surprisingly nosy. Well, I'll be honest there are a few that are aesthetically pleasing to the eye-personalities aside. Isogai is my type though." Celestia crossed her arms, boldly announcing her preferences. Karma stared at her, somewhat at a loss of what to say while Nagisa flushed at her bold and straightforwardness. They watched their teacher flit around before eventually being cornered and losing all of his mischievous antics.
"I guess in the end we were able to designate an assassination spot."
—
Everyone came back to school but to their surprise, there was a black box next to Celestia's seat. Celestia stared at the black box with incredulity. She wasn't really sure what to expect from it. The most expressive way of her displaying her incredulity is a frozen her resting bitch face can be. Karma leaned over and whispered: "Looks like one transferred assassin isn't enough."
Celestia leaned back and responded: "I transferred after the government didn't find you strong enough."
Karma opened his mouth then closed it, clicking his tongue in annoyance. Later on in the day, it turns out that the black box was more than what anyone expected. It was equipped with large machine guns and shotguns. But what really bothered everyone the most was its untimely and very interruptive shooting sessions. The students were caught in the middle of the had continuously dodged the bullets fired by their classmate who had not considered the wellbeing of the students. And because of that, it turns out Karma and Terasaka had taped up the box the next day. Celestia sighed and signalled to her redhead neighbour, asking if it was a bit too much. He just laughed and responded: "Like you've mentioned before , I'm sadistic. It is never too much."
And then the following day, there was ANOTHER change. When the box turned on, Celestia felt the life sap out of herself. Even though she was adaptable to change, this was too much. She was trained for different assassination scenarios and possibilities but she did not expect an 180 degrees turn in personality evolution. Ritsu, the name of the box, was now every 2D loving otaku's ideal girl. She had sparkly eyes with an even sparklier background and personality. She even held 2D birds in her hand and held flowers. Everytime Celestia tried to look out of the window and glanced at Ritsu, the AI grinned and waved at her. Feeling that simply turning away would be awkward, Celestia nodded each time before she attempted to study.
And then the day after, she turned 180 degrees again. Apparently, Ritsu's creators had taken away all additional components that they could see. Now she was a heartless killing machine but when the students prepared for it to take out its big guns, flower bouquets popped out along with flower petals. They were all plastic though. Celestia decided to just focus on studying and read her book even as flower petals fell mainly on her head and the rest floated around the rest of the classroom. Plucking off the petal from her head, she scratched her head.
"Would this sell for money?"
