…The True Heir…

P.S: So some of my lovely readers asked me some questions that I will be happy to answer.

Why is Byakuya out of character?

Well, the reason for that is his past, in the anime and the manga, he lived with Kuchiki family, which was known to be uptight about their mannerism and rules and he faced a lot of different challenge then he did in the anime which caused him to turn different, him being out of the character is because he was raised with Ichigo like a normal commoner, and not as a noble, so Byakuya doesn't really care about hiding his emotions behind any mask or trying to act emotionless, he had no reason to do it, and let's not forget that Byakuya is only eighteen in this fic, he was still young, and not the hundred plus years old as in the anime. And yes Byakuya reached his eighteen so he is not underage.

How does the soulbond affect Byakuya and Ichigo?

Well, a soul bond as I explained before is different from pair to pair, but mainly for Ichigo and Byakuya it increased their power drastically, they will be able to feel each other's feels, Reiatsu, get an idea about their thoughts, not to forget that soul bonds are only souls in soul society that can share the same Zanpakuto, or use each other's Zanpakuto on the other hand if one of the soul bonds doesn't want his lover to find him or want a space for themselves, they can cut the connection or gloss over it for a little while, but there are a drawback to the soul bond, for example, if Ichigo was injured Byakuya can feel it, it will affect him too in some way, but not as it will affect Ichigo, also if one of them died the other will die shortly.

Am I retelling the events of the anime?

The answer for that is no, this is an AU of its own, there may be a similarity to the anime and the manga in some scenes but this is me glossing all over it and choosing what I want to create this AU, you don't have to see the anime or read the manga, you only have to know that the five hundred years ago Aizen was exposed as who he truly was and he is now imprisoned for treason, Kisuke is still banished for plot reasons, but the Visored returned to soul society and took back their positions as Captains, now the only reason is that the last chapter be like me retelling the events of the anime, it was actually not, I took it and made my own twists, from farther on in the story, we are going to abandon every event of the manga and anime, and going AU.

I hoped I was able to help because a lot of readers seemed to be confused at some point in the story, don't hastate to ask if you don't understand a point in the story, I will be happy to help.

Chapter 10

Byakuya could only look at his soul bond with a blank look on his face waiting for his lover to wake up, mind going a mile in a second, trying to process what took a place a week ago. It was funny in a way, so funny that he had to stand aside while he let Ichigo risk his life saving them, as always, it was funny, that Byakuya made a promise to himself that he will get stronger that he will help Ichigo any way he can, but he wasn't strong, he was weak, so weak that he couldn't even stabilize his soul bond Reiatsu, instead, Ishida-San was the one who did it, injuring his arms in the process, it was funny because Ichigo promised them that they will have their own home as Shinigami but the thing is, Ichigo's Zanpakuto was broken, and now, now Ichigo may never become a Shinigami, because his Zanpakuto may take years to regenerate….

Byakuya closed his eyes for a second inhaling and exhaling trying to calm himself down… no, Ichigo will recover, he will recover and pull one of his many tricks to surprise them and his Zanpakuto will recover, Zangetsu will recover and he will surprise them too, this is Ichigo he was talking about, the man that never back down, even when everything was against him. Byakuya opened his eyes and return to gaze at Ichigo, waiting for the man to wake up ignoring the yells he was hearing from the outside, nodding his head to Ishida-San when the teen came to site with him after offering him a cup of tea.

It has been a week, a week since Ichigo fell into coma, and a week since Yoruichi arrived to the human world followed by few Captains from the Gotei 13 helping the students and the Shinigami to get rid of the hollows, a week since the students returned to soul society, a week since the Captains took Inaba to stand in central 46 to receive his sentence, but they couldn't do this without Ichigo, because it was in fact Ichigo who receive the damage more than any other Shinigami out there, but the thing is, Ichigo couldn't return to soul society until he woke up from his coma, and they couldn't return him themselves because his Zanpakuto was not only broken, but his Reiatsu was hidden so deeply it could have been none-existing, so until he woke up, Byakuya was the only one who was allowed to stay here, and that was only because he finally confess to Yoruichi and Kaien that he and Ichigo where soul bonds, that made the two of them shocked, which made them curse, because if Inaba was in big trouble for what he did, he was going to be in deep shit trying to attack and separated a soul bonded couple, but Byakuya begged them to keep the information to themselves, knowing Ichigo he would have done the same, so Byakuya stayed while the rest of his friends were forced to return to soul society which they were dragged to kicking and screaming because they didn't want to leave Ichigo and Byakuya alone.

"Good morning to you two." Byakuya and Ishida both turned toward the person who spoke only to see their host Kisuke Urahara, he was the 'friend' Yoruichi talked about, the friend that helped them trying to care for Ichigo until the young man woke up, he was kind too, though he was shocked when he first saw Ichigo, asking Byakuya and the rest of his friends so many questions about him, the group of friends didn't know why, and they made sure not to answer the personal question the man asks, but he seemed nice, even when he bothered Byakuya about Ichigo since he learned the teen was his lover. "Hmm, he is not awake…" Kisuke said to himself as he comes to closer to check on Ichigo, leaning a little closer to him trying to get a feel about his internal injuries.

Byakuya blinks as he felt a shift in his conscious, and before he warned Kisuke to back away, the man was thrown to the other side of the room at the sliding door, which he passed through, Byakuya heard the shouting from outside but personally he didn't care, because Ichigo was waking up. "Ichigo…" Byakuya gasped as he rushed toward the man and helped him to sit up, being mindful of his injuries, Byakuya heard Ishida's voice which made him turn to see the man holding a glass of water nodding his head to Ichigo which made the teen give a grateful smile and take the glass, making Ichigo drink the water slowly.

"What happened?" Ichigo whispered after he was done looking at Ishida who was bandaged like a mummy, then he turned to himself to see that his torso and hands were bandaged too. That made the man frown as he looked at his surrounding, the sound of his name being screamed made him turn to the caller to see Yoruichi rushing inside of his room, which made him blink a little his mind still a little bit foggy.

"Finally you are awake! That's great, just make sure not to throw any people through any doors next time, brat!" Yoruichi's voice made the man turn to the cat that trotted to him which made him blink a little and look at the broken door that a blond man with a strange hat was sitting next to.

"Oh, worried about me Yoruichi-San, so kind of you!" The man stood up as he dusted himself and start walking inside of the room with a happy grin on his face making the cat hiss at him. "But it doesn't matter; Ichigo-Kun is finally awake! There is good and bad news at the same time, because the good news we don't have to worry about him, and the bad that he can't go to the soul society that his Zanpakuto is broken…" The man didn't finish his blabbering because Yoruichi jumped at him and start scratching him in the face.

"Are you an idiot?!" The cat screeched as she continued to try and scratch him, which made the man yell and try to make a run for it. "He just woke up and you start vomiting shit, do you want him to go into shock?" Yoruichi spate as she jumped away from the man hissing at him ignoring his whines as she went to Ichigo who was looking at the pair with a blank face.

"I will really appreciate it if someone will tell me what the fuck is going on." Ichigo said after a while of silence which made the cat sigh at that and walked toward Ichigo to sit by his side and start explaining to him what took a place after he passed out, all the while Ichigo was listening to her words closely. "OK… where is what's lift of my Zanpakuto?" Ichigo said after pressing his lips into a thin line trying to process what Yoruichi told him.

"Here, Ichigo…" Byakuya said as he gave the hilt of Zangetsu to his lover which made Ichigo give the teen a grateful smile before taking the hilt and close his eyes tightly, a few seconds passed, which made everyone look at each other, and then they saw the hilt puls, once, twice, before suddenly the hilt glow and the Zanpakuto was regenerate like it wasn't even broken in the first time.

"Interesting! How did you do that? It would have taken months sometimes years, for a Zanpakuto to regenerate! You must have a very massive Reiatsu to be able to do this, tell me again, what's your full name?" Kisuke said which made Ichigo look at him with a bored look on his face and narrowed eyes, which made the man, laugh a little, trying to back away especially when Yoruichi start hissing at him. "Now, now, Yoruichi-San don't get angry I only wanted to help, speaking of help, isn't Inaba-Kun's trial in three days?" Kisuke asked his smile disappearing at the mention of the trial, that made Yoruichi sigh at that and for her tail to swish in irritation.

"Two days actually, and everyone is supposed to be there, even you, his actions has not only hurt students, humans, and souls nearly causing their deaths if the Captains weren't fast to arrive in Karakura, but in the midst of this his actions hurt a soul bonded pair, which are the only one alive in soul society considering the last pair both died a hundred years ago, if he wasn't killed after hearing this, he will be either exiled or striped from his powers, though I think it's going to be the last, after all, he is a Kuchiki, even if his family wanted nothing to do with him and his father from the start." Yoruichi grumbled to herself which made everyone looked grim at the thought.

"Fuck this, let's get this over with then, you are coming with us too aren't you Uryu?" Ichigo asked which got a nod from the Quincy, which made Ichigo stand up after he throws his covers away, and walked toward the door, only to be stopped by Yoruichi, who was following him and hissing at the man.

"Where do you think you are going?" The cat snapped at him which made the orange hair male rolls his eyes at her, and try to sidestep her only for her to stand in his way.

"Where does it look like? I am returning to soul society, in the hope of stopping everyone from killing that idiot. He may be a bastard, but even I know killing is never the solution, are you coming to Byakuya?" Ichigo asked which made Byakuya sigh at him and grumble to himself as he stood up and helped Ishida to stand and walked toward Ichigo.

"Well, as much as I appreciated the sentimental you are going to rest, we are going to soul society tomorrow." Yoruichi hissed which made Ichigo look at her with boredom, sending her a challenging look that said 'Make me' that done it for the female and she growled at the man, before she let her Reiatsu lose, that made the teens back away and look at the glowing cat with a little bit of fear especially when the cat starts glowing. "Got your fucking ass in bed or I will kick you to the next century!" The sound of a female made them look at the cat… scratch that, she wasn't a cat anymore, instead of a cat there was a woman with purplish-black hair standing in front of them, and it wasn't the reason why Byakuya and Uryu squeaked and turn away with red faces, it was because the woman was naked.

"The fuck woman, are you insane!" Ichigo screamed as he looked to the side trying to ignore the woman that was showing her girly-bits, feeling embarrassment at what he saw. "Go change into fucking something before you flash everyone!" Ichigo growled which only made the woman smirk at him and cross her arms under her breasts ignoring Kisuke who gave a whistle at that, she could get him later.

"You want me to change you sit your ass in bed until tomorrow, other than that me and you are going to go at it all night with me Stark naked, so choose wisely, I am not self-conscious about how I look." The woman said with a smirk which caused Ichigo to snarl at her but he turns to his futon and starts walking toward it with Byakuya and Uryu rushing to follow him, the woman purred proudly at that.

Ichigo was so easy sometimes…

Soujun could only frown as he walked toward central 46, he wasn't really needed per se, his father was the head of their family, but he just wanted to get out of his office and this was the only excuse he has. It wasn't like Soujun cared about what was going to happen to his nephew, it may seem cruel for him to say that but it was true, Inaba had taken everything too far, he was disrespectable, arrogant, doesn't follow the rules, and he was an idiot to think that he was going to be the heir to the Kuchiki clan… Soujun, he knew that his brother was the reason that he lost his baby, after all his brother Sora was a petty person, and his pettiness only increased after their father informed the clan that Soujun, despite his weak health, was going to be the clan's heir, that made his brother furious, and it seems that everyone in the Kuchiki clan knew this too, knew that Sora was the reason the heir was killed, but the thing is there was no visible proof, and without a prove their hands were tied, even the clan couldn't do a thing unless they wanted the central nagging at them.

Soujun doesn't care about being the head of the clan, he never did, after his husband died, he only cared about taking care of his son, being a carrier, a male that can get pregnant, meant that he was a prize, and people will line up to have him, but Soujun never cared, he wanted to live peacefully, refused to get married like the elders told him to, and he thought by doing that the elders will finally stop bothering him and choose his brother freeing him from their constant nagging, but it seemed that his refusal was some sort of 'test' and he passed it, and because of that Soujun was here, alone, and his son was forever gone, what will his late husband Kazui think of him now? Soujun really hopes that Inaba will be killed, at least then it will be a fitting punishment, poetic justice and all…

Soujun turned around the corner only to be stopped by a Shinigami pulling him by his hand, which made him growl, can't he brood in peace for one day? Before he can dress down the idiot with the strange hair color the man looked at him with annoyance. "How many times do I have to tell you not to run away Byakuya?" The young man or maybe he was a boy in front of his scowl at him, which kind of made him blink at that, especially when the name he wanted to forget was uttered. "I understand that you are all excited to show Uryu around soul society, but seriously, we have Inaba-bastard to take care of." The man continued to rant as he pulled Soujun with him, and the older man was too shocked to do anything other than allowing the other man to drag him as he rants. "And by the way what's with the strange hair accessory… wait a minute, you are not Byakuya…" The man said after a little pause which made Soujun look at the man like he was an idiot.

"That is what I was trying to tell you, but unfortunately you were too busy blabbering to let other people talk." Soujun snipped which made the teen look at him lips twitching, and Soujun doesn't even know if the man was trying to smile or frown, but the boy did end up murmuring 'Salty' under his breath which made Soujun pause not knowing why the boy used this word.

"Well, excuse me if you looked like my runaway lover who seemed to have eloped with my friend and by the way he is good at hiding his Reiatsu from me when he wanted to, believe me, I wouldn't bother you at all if I knew you weren't him." The boy said which made Soujun pause, taking in his words before nodding at them, and understanding that there was an apology hiding deep with them.

"Apology accepted, also my name is Kuchiki Soujun, just in case you are going to mix me with your lover again." Soujun said knowing that the second he will say his name the boy will either run away or will turn into an ass-kisser, and he will choose the former any day if it didn't mean he will suffer another 'Oh, Kuchiki-Sama!' the boy thought was intriguing as he only blink his eyes and nod his head.

"Cool, my name is Ichigo, nice to meet you too, now if you excuse me I have a runaway to catch, and a bastard to kick and reeducate, have a nice day Soujun." The brat said as he runs which made Soujun growl at the boy, how barbaric and uncultured! Calling him by his first name without an honorific, though Soujun wasn't about to deny that it was amusing, being talked to like he was a friend instead of some noble people tried to be on his good grace…

Though he didn't stop thinking about what the man said when he meets him…

"I can believe you two, running away like this, what if something happened to you?" Ichigo ranted as he and his friends walked to central 46 after Ichigo finally found Byakuya and Uryu who were surprisingly hidden in a broom closet, he spent the day ranting at them, especially when they admitted that they have been chased by the clown bastard from last year, which caused Ichigo to nearly have an aneurysm, as he sower to find the clown and finish his job.

The rest of their friends were laughing at that silently, Rukia was having the time of her life as she was helping Renji who broke his arm while they were fighting hollows a week ago trying to protect her, Hitsugaya was having superficial injuries considering that he was one of the students who awoke his Zanpakuto a long time ago, that left Byakuya and Uryu who were grumbling at Ichigo who was growling at them.

"You are late!" The sound of a woman's screaming made everyone turn to Yoruichi who was in her Captain uniform; you can say that yesterday was the day of surprises to all of them because not only Yoruichi was, in fact, a shape-shifting woman, but she was the Captain of the second division, which hurt a little that she didn't trust them enough to tell them, but they understood that the woman didn't have a choice in the matter.

"Well, wouldn't be late if your clown-faced collogue didn't chase Uryu intending to dissect him!" Ichigo snapped which made the woman blink and look at Uryu who looked haggled and Byakuya who looked tired and her face became dark as a growl left her, which made everyone take a step back except Ichigo because he was a scary AF that doesn't care, and because an angry Yoruichi is the last thing you want to deal with… after Ichigo of course.

"I will deal with him, you go to the central." Yoruichi said which made everyone get ready and walked away but Ichigo was stopped by Yoruichi's on his arm. "I did what you ask; even when I think it's total bullshit." Yoruichi said which made Ichigo nod his head and give a small smile at her then rushed to his friends who were waiting for him, sighing in relief that the woman hide the information about him being a soul bond.

Ichigo had to say that it was boring; entering the central to see the trial, and even Ichigo had to wince when he saw Inaba shackled to the ground with the guards surrounding him, everyone was practically there, the Captains though a few of them were missing or were running late because of the heavy patrols on Karakura in fear of another gathering of Hollows, the Commander which was funny that Ichigo recognizes him as the older man in Toshiro's trial, and there where Ichigo's group and his supervisors, some of them like Ai-Sensei and some students were absent because of the injuries they sustain during the fight.

The trial was boring, to say the least, and even Ichigo knew that by the end of the trial that Inaba was going to be executed, so Ichigo ends up taking a big breath and look at Byakuya who was looking at him with narrow eyes like he already knows what he was planning to do, though Byakuya ends up sighing and shaking his head at Ichigo muttering something like 'Here we go again, into the fray.' It only made Ichigo smile at that, his soul bond knows him too well.

"Excuse me for interrupting, but can I say something?" Ichigo said as he Shunpo to stand beside Inaba which made everyone look at him with confusion and surprise then resignation, though Ichigo can see some of the central members groan at his sight which made Ichigo smirk at that.

"Not you again, why is it that every time some student do something stupid it's you that I see!" One of the members whined and Ichigo had to hold his chuckle in, it was true that he drove the central crazy ever since Toshiro's trial, which made him quite known in the centeral as the 'Suicidal and disrespectable brat' which was a name that he was kind of proud of.

"Well, excuse me, even I don't want to spend more than necessary of my precious time here, but you don't get what you wish for, do you?" Ichigo rolled his eyes at the man that made the man sigh at that and lean of his chair after throwing his arms in the air, and Ichigo was proud that he could get under everyone's skin.

"So what do you want this time, to give him a pardon after everything he did?" A Shinigami from the central asked irritated by the events taking place, as much as she wanted to ignore the boy's words she can't, especially after the Sou-Taichou took a liking to the strange boy in front of them.

"Oh, hell no, for all I care Inaba-bastard can go and die in a ditch." Ichigo said which got him a glare from Inaba but he was stopped from attacking Ichigo by the guards. "I just think that it's fair that his clan be the one responsible for punishing him, after all, you refused to punish Inaba's father when he was responsible for the heir's death, and when the clan tried to punish him you throw a fit, so yeah, it's only fair that his clan be responsible for him and his psychopath ways." Ichigo said offhandedly which made the central and the Captains go quiet, especially the Captain of the sixth division Kuchiki Ginrei.

"How did you know about this, boy?" Ginrei asked as he took a step toward the young man who was looking at them with such calmness and uncaring façade and deep inside Ginrei asked himself who was this boy? And how did he know this information when no one other than the central and the Kuchiki clan knows about.

"Well, it isn't this hard when someone loves to brag about how his father slipped from his punishment when the Kuchiki tried to punish him for something he 'didn't' do…" Ichigo drawl looking at Inaba who was glaring at the man with a dark look on his face, but Ichigo's words were enough to make everyone pause at that.

After a few minutes of the central talking with each other, ignoring Inaba's screams about him doing this only because he wanted to prove himself to everyone, which was kinda pathetic and sad especially when the boy's father barged in like he owned the place and ordered the guards to let go of his son, which didn't go well for the man or his son. "After coming to our final decision, the central decided to punish Kuchiki Inaba by sealing his Reiatsu, as for his full punishment, it fell on the Kuchiki's clan head to punish the boy for his wrongdoing, and no one is to interfere with the Kuchiki's decision." The last sentence was said to Ichigo as the man was looking at the central with a smug look on his face, causing several of them to sigh and for the Sou-Taichou to give a low chuckle at the boy…

The youngster was really interesting after all…
