"Why do I have to be the one to do this," I whispered behind my face mask, "She could've found literally anyone else who would ecstatic to do this,"
"She did," Jiji said.
"What?" I replied, vaguely remembering him saying something like this before.
"There were...others."
"What happened to them?"
I stopped and tried to look at Jiji who was still perched on my shoulder.
Jiji glanced at me and his gaze softened. "they're okay. And you'll be okay too," he jumped down from my shoulder and bounded up to the edge of the train tracks.
"How many were there?" I said uneasily. Jiji merely looked at me.
"A few, but we have a good feeling about this time,"
'well that's reassuring.'
I sighed and looked at my surroundings not wanting to think about the secrets that Blu was definitely keeping from me. I was gonna save L and I was gonna go home to my boring life and never think about this again. I scratched under the brown wig and readjusted my hat.
The inside of the train was large and grey and surprisingly quiet despite it being the weekend. The minimal noise that there was, was not loud enough to mask my voice if I wanted to talk to jiji. Nothing was out of the ordinary, but I knew what would happen in a few minutes.
The doors on the train would open and a man dressed in a suit with dark hair would step in. He'd be pale and his face would carefully mask the dread brewing underneath.
Jiji and I watched the doors of the train as they slid open. The sudden inflow of people made it difficult for me to pinpoint the FBI guy. I had been skeptical of Blu when she told me to get on the second carriage to find FBI guy, but she was correct. My heart pounded as I watched the man step into the train.
He sat near the door, the brown folder tucked securely by his side. That was what I was here for. That seemingly unimportant folder.
I continued to look around the train and only stopped when I saw a figure standing behind the carriage doors. Light. It had to be. He looked kind of ridiculous in the track suit though.
Half an hour passed before the two made any sign of moving. FBI guy rose swiftly leaving the folder above him on the rack. The doors opened and Light-being the arrogant prick he is-stood by the door waiting for the man to see him.
Through the doors I saw when he hunched over and dropped like a sack. I hesitated for a second a distant memory surging to the front of my mind. A woman. Her blood soaking into my shoes.
A sudden sharp pain in my hand jolted me out of my stupor, the memory slipping away until I could barely remember why I had stopped in the first place.
I rose casually taking care to make sure Light didn't notice me. I only released the breath I had been holding when the folder was safely inside my bag and I was off the train.
All that was left now was appearing on camera.
Pretending to be frantic isn't that hard when you momentatily forget that you are in an anime.
I dashed forward, dropped down to his side and shook his convulsing body.
"Sir? Sir!" He felt too real especially how warm he was. He wasn't real. He was a fictional character.
I glanced upwards to the train doors. I only caught a glimpse of him through the glass doors, but it was enough to strike fear in me. That look on his face…
It wasn't human.
But then I saw his eyes and they were red.
'It's just an anime. Calm down'
The train left taking the main character with it. I looked back down at the dying man.
"Light Yagami," He wheezed out. I frowned at him guiltily.
"I know"
I fiddled with the plaster on my hand as I watched Blu dance around the living room nervously. The scratch from Jiji hadn't gone deep, but it still ached. She had randomly popped up in the apartment she had given me, but I was grateful. JIji wasn't exactly interesting to talk to. She kept smoothing out her clothes and brushing her hair down so it would lie flat however, nothing could tame her forever messy hair.
"Why are you here?" I finally asked. I jerked backwards in surprise when Blu launched herself to sit beside me. She faced me and grabbed my shoulders in a tight grip. She looked at me intensely, like she was debating telling me something
"...I need you to get Noami,"
"Who?"
I stared at her in confusion as Jiji began to laugh.
"Raye Penbers fiance. Did you even watch the anime?!"
I chuckled awkwardly thinking back to the countless times I had zoned out of the multiple marathons of the show. Blu sighed and looked over to Jiji who had moved to sit on top of the coffee table. It seemed like they were having an entire conversation. Blu's face was completely serious.
"No. Whatever it is I'm not doing it,"
"You didn't even give me a chance to explain!"
"I'm not doing it,"
"But-"
"Nope,"
I settled back into the couch and switched on the TV. Some cheesy drama was on, but it was better than watching Blu give me puppy eyes.
I tried to concentrate on what Blu was muttering to Jiji, but I could only make out murmurs.
"She….more stubborn now...as difficult,"
I groaned in annoyance and said, "You let FBI guy die, why's the fiance so important?"
"She'll help L catch Light quicker. Therefore less chance of L dying," Jiji explained calmly.
"plus we gotta get you onto L's radar,"
"Oh. Why didn't you just say that earlier," Blu looked at me with thinly veiled annoyance, but Jiji merely looked amused. They knew I was being difficult on purpose. I smiled innocently.
"So, who wants some tea?"
"Naomi Misora?" I said, interrupting her conversation with the man behind the desk. She visibly flinched at me using her real name and whipped around to face me. I smiled at her.
"Who are you?" She asked, her eyes narrowing in suspicion. I glanced down at my watch. We had 10 minutes before Light would get here.
I floundered for a moment caught off guard by how intently she was studying me. Despite appearing cool and unbothered i was internally freaking out. I was still a 19 year old college student after all.
I began to walk out of the building and down the street. The opposite direction Light would be coming from. She followed.
"It doesn't matter who I am. You want to find Kira, yes?"
She nodded hesitantly.
"Great. We have a common goal. I need you to go to this address," I handed a small slip of paper to her, "find the old man with white hair and give him this," I pulled out the brown folder.
"Why should I trust you?"
"We both want to stop Kira," I answered simply. The truth was that she didn't need to trust me. Her curiosity would win out and she would eventually go to the address either way. She just needed to stay out of Light's path.
She took the folder from me.
"Don't look inside. Just make sure it gets to the man,"
"How will I know who to give it to?"
"It'll be quite obvious when you get there," I smiled and began to walk away, but paused. I turned back to face her.
"I'm sorry about your fiance," I said quietly. I looked away guilty and avoided her gaze.
"Thank you," She murmured, her voice heavy with grief. There was a moment of silence and then I walked away. I didn't stop this time.

"Eli's at it again," The shinigami complained. He was a grotesque thing much like the rest of his kind. HIs nose (it was more of a snout honestly) was twisted upwards and small eyes sat in his face, too small for his head.
Rin glanced up from his deck of cards, "I thought she was going by Blu now?"
"Blu, Eli, Polly Pocket. Whatever she's going by, she's still a pain in thy ass,"
"She's quite amusing though, thinking that this time will be any different,"
"I bet you 30 gallaens that she'll die within the first month,"
"You're on."
she lies on the ground as if she had been casually tossed there, her limbs strewn about haphazardly.
