A difficult Decision

Dash looked at his wife when he heard a knock at the door. He went out of the bed and put on his pants.
"Who's there?" He asked fighting with the button fly.
"It's me," the answer came given by a very familiar voice.
Meanwhile Nomi went also out of the bed and dressed in haste. "This I call bad timing by our offspring," she muttered under her breath. Then she walked over to her husband to help him with the button fly.
"Finished, darling," she said smiling at him and gave him a kiss.
Dash opened the door where his eldest stand waiting patiently to be let in.
"Good morning, Mama. Good morning, father. May I enter?" This time he waited for his father to make way. "I hope I haven't disturbed you," he said looking at his father only wearing pants and his mother whose clothes were not as neat as usual.
"Not really. Come in, son," his father answered him with a sideways glance at Nomi. "Why are you here?"
Dash Jr. entered the room and took a seat at the table. "We met in our room yesterday after the meeting and were wondering if we should invite also the pirates of Takodana. They helped Tash and me a lot after we landed there. Some of them even donated for my first prosthesis. They were always friendly to us and I think they want to pay back the First Order for their attack at Takodana. Many of them lost their home basically."
His mother sat down opposite of him, while his father was searching for a shirt.
"It's something your mother has to decide," the seasoned warrior said while putting on a shirt he found finally. "She is the leader of our cell." Then he sat down at Nomi's side.
The Jedi Master looked at her son thoughtfully. "You want to work with pirates?"
Her son nodded his head. "All of us agreed, Mama. They aren't bad people."
Nomi raised an eyebrow and cast a sideways glance at her husband. "Even Biggs agreed?" She asked still recalling vividly how her mostly silent son argued with her after the failed attack on the First Order convoy.
Her eldest smirked; folding his hands behind his head while leaning back in the chair. "We were able to convince him, Mama. He wasn't able to counter our reasoning. So, do you agree to invite the pirates?" Dash Jr. looked expectantly at his mother.
Nomi closed her eyes for a moment. Pirates were actually criminals, but weren't this smugglers as well? It was a difficult decision to make. She wondered if the old rules and morals were still in place with the fall of the New Republic. Should her Rebel cell really side with people most of the common people despised?
Her son felt the Jedi Master's inner conflict in the Force, but he withstood the urge to push it. Dash Jr. knew all too well that it would be with no avail and would make his mother only angry. So he took some calming breathes and waited patiently for his mother to make up her mind.
It took a while until Nomi finally opened her eyes. "Are you sure they won't betray us? I don't want to jeopardize the cell."
Her son leaned over the table and looked in his mother's eyes. "I vouch for them and I'll invite only those we are friends with, Mama."
"Your mother puts great trust in you, Dash. Don't disappoint her," his father said while taking Nomi's hand.
"I won't fail neither Mama nor you father. I promise," the young Rendar answered with a steady voice. "So you agree that we add pirates to the cell?"
A split second his mother hesitated but then she nodded her head. "I hope I will never regret this, Junior."
"You won't. I have a lot of work to do now." He stood up, walked over to his mother and kissed her cheek. "Trust me, Mama it will work out."
Then he nodded goodbye at his father and left the room.
Dash squeezed his wife's hand. "You are only half convinced am I right?"
"Is it this obvious, darling?" The Jedi Master's answer came silently. She looked in her husband's eyes. "I hope that Dash is right about his pirate friends."
"You should trust his judgment, love." He leaned over and kissed her. "Our son isn't a child any longer."
"I know, Dash," she answered him. "We should continue where our eldest disturbed us."
"This sounds like a very good idea to me." Dash smiled and went over to the bed.

Meanwhile Dash Jr. was entering the room he shared with his younger brothers. Four pairs of eyes were looking expectantly at him. The young man gave his siblings and his future brother in law a wide smile and sat down in a chair.
"You should put us out of our misery, Dash," his sister said. "Mama has agreed to involve our pirate friends?"
Her eldest brother nodded his head with an even wider smile before answering Tasherit's question. "Mama has agreed when she heard that we even convinced Biggs." He withheld his mother's concern that the pirates might turn against them at some point, well knowing that it wasn't fair to his siblings. But he didn't want to put a spoke in their wheel. They looked so happy.
"These are good news, Dash," Jaden said before he gave Tasherit a kiss who was sitting in his lap. "So when will you contact them?"
"After breakfast," he answered realizing how hungry he was when his stomach growled.
Corran chuckled and slapped his brother on the shoulder. "We all can hear how hungry you are, Dash. We should really eat first before contacting your friends."
All gathered in the room were laughing when they stood up to go for breakfast.

After they finished breakfast Biggs and Corran went back to their room, while Tasherit, Dash Jr. and Jaden went for the Trader's Luck. There Tash's brother sat down in front of the comm unit and called the first of their pirate friends.
"Draco? Here's Dash. I can give you an opportunity to do harm to the First Order."
