"It seems we were betrayed by those we thought to be allies!" He blurted out unceremoniously. "The Commander is missing. She was supposed to meet with the pirates whom became our allies recently. My wife didn't call us as she promised." There begun a murmur in the ranks of those gathered. All of them were clearly upset. Dash commanded with a gesture silence before he continued to speak. "We haven't any proof yet, but Tasherit is sure that Dracon is hiding something. He claimed that the Commander is on her way back already. But we don't believe this. Therefore I need volunteers for a search party. We will begin with questioning the pirates." He strained the word 'questioning' and looked then expectantly at the crowd. Many hands, paws and claws were raised by those who wanted to take part in the mission to find their leader. The retired mercenary nodded his head in approval, before he took his pick. Besides his two youngest sons he chose Tarik and two of the former ambassador's honor guards who joined him when he pledged his allegiance to the Resistance. It was only a small strike force, but Dash was pretty sure it would be enough since the pirates won't recon they would show up./p
p class="_1tvZk _1iFR7 _3s8-3"As her husband was assembling his team, Nomi was sitting in her cell pondering about a way to escape. She was angry with herself. How did it come that she was so stupid and careless? She sighed. The Ysalamiri seemed to be awake all the time. There was always this sickening void in the Force. Canady was really smart she had to give him this. But would he be smart enough to hold her captive? Back during the Galactic Civil War she even escaped Darth Vader himself who had imprisoned her in his castle on Vjun. And now this First Order Commodore thought he could accomplish what the Dark Lord failed to do? The Commander felt thirsty, but there was no water in the cell. So she was forced to wait for what they might bring to keep her alive. She wasn't sure how late it was and how many hours she was onboard, but from the ship's vibrations she could tell that they made the jump to hyperspace. It was another move to make it even harder for her people to find her. The cell door opened and a trooper stepped in carrying a tray with food and water. He set the tray on the floor without saying a word, unshackled her and left. Nomi rose from the cot, picked up the tray and settled down to eat; being almost sure that Canady has something else in mind than to poison her./p
p class="_1tvZk _1iFR7 _3s8-3"Dash padded his eldest's shoulder before he entered the span class="da-editor-italic" style="font-style: italic;"Outrider/span. "I'm pretty sure that the base is in good hands under your command, Junior." His son winced inwardly. It seemed his father would never quit calling him this. Even not after he transferred the power of command to him. "I will do my best, father. Show the damn bastard that he chose the wrong family to mess with and bring Mama back." His father smiled at him. "We will bring her back sound and well." Then he entered the YT-2400, together with his younger sons, while Tarik and the two guards were climbing in Z95-Headhunters. Dash Jr. watched how the space vessel launched and resumed then his duty. His father hailed his comrades after they reached the jump point. "Ok, I fed the coordinates Draco gave the Commander to your nav computers. Hopefully he's still around there. Jump on my mark. One, two…three." There was a flicker to be seen and then the small rescue team had entered hyperspace./p
p class="_1tvZk _1iFR7 _3s8-3"It didn't take them long until they arrived at their destination. Dash Rendar grinned broadly when seeing Draco's ship in front of him. Corran rose from his seat and addressed his brother. "Come, Biggs we'll prepare for the boarding." His brother nodded his head, rose and followed him. When they reached the midsection, Corran opened a locker and took a heavy blaster rifle from the rack. Biggs chose another model, which was more suiting to his abilities. Meanwhile their father was hailing the fighters to coordinate the attack. "I jam their comms, before you move in on them. Stay alert." While speaking he was already on it and made also the calculations for the shot with the Outrider's ion cannon. The elderly man smirked. It seemed that the pirates weren't aware of the imminent danger yet. "Disable the shields and then go for the hyperdrive." "Copy that," came Tarik's response. "You've heard the Commander." His two wingmen acknowledged that they understood and readied themselves for the upcoming strafing run. Dash waited for the signal indicating he has a lock on his target. When it came he pushed the button. The ion beam went straight to the span class="da-editor-italic" style="font-style: italic;"Draco's Pride/span and hit. The former mercenary almost cheered; when he saw the ion burst engulf the vessel in front of him. The span class="da-editor-italic" style="font-style: italic;"Draco's Pride/span was easy prey now with her shields and weapon systems down. This was the moment the three Z95-Headhunter pilots had waited for. They steered their fighters and moved in at full throttle with blazing laser cannons./p
p class="_1tvZk _1iFR7 _3s8-3"Realizing that they were sitting ducks out of a sudden, Draco cursed and barked orders at his crew to bring the ship's systems online again. But it was too late. The ship shuddered under the Headhunter's shelling. "We're under attack, Captain!" Rool shouted while fumbling with a hydrospanner at the main console. "I know, I know," Draco's answer came angrily. "We should do something!" Rool cried with a hint of panic in his voice. "There's nothing we can do! Send some men to the hatch! I think I know who's knocking on our door." "Shield generator and hyperdrive disabled, Commander," heard Dash over the comm accompanied by Tarik's chirping laughter. "Thank you. Boys, prepare for boarding," the Commander ordered his two sons per intercom. He steered the span class="da-editor-italic" style="font-style: italic;"Outrider/span toward the span class="da-editor-italic" style="font-style: italic;"Draco's Pride/span and docked. Draco heard the noise of the docking ship and headed for the hatch, seeking cover behind a corner. Dash left the cockpit and joined his sons, checking his blaster and putting a fresh ammo pack in. He nodded to Biggs who activated his lightsaber and begun to cut through. Corran and Dash readied themselves to give covering fire when the hatch would give way. At the other side of the hatch the pirates made up their stand to defend their ship when the intruders would break through. They stared at the melting durasteel in disbelieve. The part Biggs had cut out of the hatch fell with a loud bang and the young Jedi jumped through the hole deflecting the incoming blaster bolts. Corran followed his brother without hesitation firing at the pirates while seeking cover. Their father made up the rear going in with blazing blaster taking out two of the pirates hitting them dead center. "DRACO!" Dash was shouting to drown out the battle noise, while his sons were still fighting. "DRACO! YOU KARKING BASTARD! SHOW YOURSELF!"/p
p class="_1tvZk _1iFR7 _3s8-3"There was silence when the last of the defenders were lying either dead or wounded on the floor, but Draco wasn't still to be seen. "YOUR CHOICE, DRACO COME OUT OR GO DOWN WITH YOUR SHIP!" Finally there was a movement at the utmost left side and Draco came in sight with his hands folded behind his head. Dash nodded to Corran. The young Rendar cuffed the pirate captain and dragged him to the destroyed hatch and in the span class="da-editor-italic" style="font-style: italic;"Outrider/span. Biggs followed them while Dash attached explosives to primary structures and set the timers to 10 minutes. With a smirk he left the pirate ship and entered the span class="da-editor-italic" style="font-style: italic;"Outrider/span's cockpit. "Time to leave," he said as he undocked. Then the small assault team headed away from the ship to not be caught in the explosion. Corran hold Draco in his grasp and forced him to watch when his beloved ship was blown in oblivion./p
