Business as usual?

The commander made up her mind and decided to tell the members of her Resistance cell about the new threat. She had summoned them in the main hangar where she climbed on a crate so everybody was able to see her. The Jedi enhanced her voice with the Force after she commanded silence and begun to speak.
"I know that there are rumors around concerning one of the last transmissions we intercepted," she said looking at those gathered. "Those rumors are true. There was a transmission by a man we all thought to be dead. But it seems the man is alive and pulling the strings if it comes to the First Order. The man I'm speaking of is the Emperor who managed to come back from the dead. I must admit that I have no idea how, but it was really him whose voice I've heard."
There was a murmur to be heard and she saw many doubtful glances, as Tarik cleared his throat. Then the former ambassador spoke up.
"It's true what the commander is telling you. I heard it by myself. It was the Emperor's voice. This is a voice I would never forget. We don't know how, but the man is pretty alive and poses a danger to all our efforts."
There was shouting and a general hubbub. The Galactic Civil War veterans were well aware what their leader and her friend were speaking about, while the younger ones who were born after the war had no idea why the others were so agitated.
With a hand sign Nomi commanded silence again and thanked Tarik with inclining her head.
"Tarik is right, the Emperor could destroy everything we have fought for, but we won't allow this. We suppose that he is hiding somewhere in the Unknown Regions since all of the convoys we intercepted came from or were bound there. We can't explore where, but we can still be a nuisance to his war efforts. We will continue to capture First Order convoys and slow down whatever he plans to happen. We are still hoping that we will have more and more support and will be able to stand against his forces when he'll come out of hiding. But for now we will continue with our raids. That's all for now. May the Force be with us."

The Jedi jumped down from the crate and wanted to leave when her daughter was approaching her.
"So the Emperor is back? Those are really bad news, Mama."
Nomi looked at her daughter who was so much like her.
"Yes, I have no idea how, but he's back."
Dash was standing nearby and came over now.
"Don't worry, we've beaten him and his damn Empire one time and we can do it again," he said putting his arm around Nomi's shoulders. His wife leaned against his chest and sighed.
"I wish I would have your optimism, Dash," the commander responded.
Dash kissed his wife's head.
"So we will continue our raids, but do nothing to find the Emperor's hideout?" The seasoned warrior asked.
Tasherit was watching her parents and smiled despite the situation.
"Exactly, darling," the commander answered, wriggling out of her husband's embrace. "I must plan the next raid; there is another convoy on the way."

Tasherit saw her brothers standing together and walked over to them.
"This was quite a surprise, wasn't it?" She said, looking up to them.
Corran chuckled. "It wasn't a surprise for us, sis. Tarik told us already what happened in the command center."
Their sister folded her arms in front of her and frowned.
"And you didn't tell me? That wasn't nice of you."
The triplets were laughing seeing their sister behaving like in old times when they were denying her a favorite toy.
"We were sure that mother would tell you sooner or later," Dash Jr. finally said still laughing.
His sister stared at him with an unhappy expression.
"It seems it was rather later, together with all the others on base. That's not fair," she responded and kicked a small stone with her foot. "We are in this together, Junior and I would have had preferred to get the news before the rest of the base members."
Tash's eldest brother shrugged and turned to leave. "It is as it is, sis. The next time it might be you who gets some intel earlier than us."
When her other siblings were following their brother she looked after them still being unhappy.

Meanwhile the commander was back in the command center planning the next raid. After she had heard the Emperor's voice it was even more vital to her to thwart his plans. Nomi was just speaking about the tactics for the upcoming assault when she felt a strong presence in the Force.
"Leia?" The Jedi whispered and reached out with the Force, but before she was able to make certain it was her friend the sensation vanished. Maybe she was wrong and the wish was father to the thought. They were still on their own in fighting the First Order and now Palpatine. She took a deep breath and continued to point at the sector in the holo map where they would intercept the convoy.
After the briefing was over the pilots left the command center and headed for their fighters. Shortly after starting the engines were to be heard before they launched.
Nomi reached out with the Force again and there was the strong presence she had felt before. She was pretty sure now that it was Leia. The general was shining bright like a homing beacon in the Force. Her friend breathed a sigh of relief, that the heart and soul of the Resistance was alive. The Jedi was reaching out to touch the general's mind when she realized that something was wrong, terribly wrong. It was the same feeling she had when her father died years ago. This couldn't be true. Not Leia. But Nomi knew it was true, Leia Organa, leader of the Resistance was gone.
The Jedi sat down on a chair and buried her head in her hands to hide the tears which were streaming down her cheeks.
