Ahh, another day, another chapter. Think I'll be doing Hero or Last breath next, we'll see. Anywho, the winner.
Spoiler: Winning! By a Possible Landslide
[X] Near a Summit: Very Cold, Very Green, Bitterly Sweet, Not the Most Stable, Great View
Still don't own anything. Never have, probably never will. Available here, is a link to my P A Treon. And if you're looking for something not once a month try here, which is a link to a pool, for those of you looking to commission or just some incentive for me. If these links aren't available, check my profiles! Any of em! Consider yourself informed.
Now let's see if we crash and burn. Possibly literally!
You saw a picture perfect clearing just beside the mountain top. It was nestled between towering Pine trees and had a wonderful view of what you assumed to be a glacier spring.
Naturally, you decided to park your jet on this untouched paradise.
Roll 1d100 for Landing: Rolled...77! Pass! Barely.
With a deft hand and adjustable thrusters, you gently landed amidst the snowbanks along a relatively solid looking section. You felt the jet sink in a bit upon landing, but after a full minute with your hand on the lever ready to gun back up, you were still fine, so you let go of your white-knuckled grip.
After another few minutes carefully pulling on a plush, and more importantly warm, black and red jacket to protect yourself, Third-Arm Sash now pulled up higher to act almost as a scarf, you opened up your cockpit, and jumped down to adventure!...before falling flat on your thankfully covered face as it turns out the 'ground' you parked on was literally ice.
Roll 1d20 Difficult Terrain:Ice. AUTO-PASS due to Skill Level.
In face, as you got to your feet and balance on the ice, you could actually see that the entire 'plateau' you had found was in fact a glacier, with the trees surrounding it simply part of the ride and the small spring off to the side simply being from where it had broken off before.
"Woooah, I'm super lucky this didn't kill me." You breathed out as you purposefully stood and made a small jump into the air, looking over the area with Wing Road..for all of a minute, before you had to drop back to the ice, shivering like crazy as you desperately stuffed warming pads against your back inside your jacket.
Right, NOT a great idea to have the flightpack that moves air through it to fly in a place with literally freezing winds. Good to note. Still, limited use was better than nothing, and this hopefully wouldn't take too long.
With a small grin hidden by your pseudo-scarf, you took out the Eagle Scope you had packed and began surveying the area, carefully keeping the metal from directly touching your eyes, magical bullshit or no.
Sight Check: RollAUTO-PASS due to Magical Bullshit.
And holy crap were you glad you brought this thing. Now that you thought about it, this was your first real time using it, but it did NOT disappoint. With the Wu pressed not quite to your face, you could see every individual spec of snow as it landed in piles, the footprints left behind by whatever living creature was nearby, and even a sign signaling a sale on cargo pants over in the town a few hundred miles away.
Eagle Scope OP, please don't nerf.
In all seriousness though, you saw a lot of things that could lead to the Wu, with Wuya confirming it was indeed on this specific mountain.
That left you to investigate...
CHOOSE 2 OF THE BELOW
[] The Abandoned Mine: Leads deeper into the Mountain, directly beneath where you parked
[] The Strange Footprints Leading Into the Forest: Strangely Massive, you'd Probably have noticed them even without the Eagle Scope
[] The Glacier You Landed On: These things are Hella rare, and something seems...cool, about this one, pun intended
[] The Peak: You were already this close, why not reach the top? Bet the View would be GREAT!
[] The Syrup Taps: They were all over the place, why not get a bucket or two? You can do things for multiple reasons!
END OF CHOICE
And there we go! Not gonna lie, if we failed that landing, I would have rolled to see if we escaped the resulting avalanche or not. If we failed that too, we'd have lost the Jet. Good thing that didn't happen!
