Chapter 71: Power Surge
Peridot: Uh...what happened?
Peridot was starting to wake up. She realized she was in a cell and the outside looked familiar.
Peridot: Huh, where am I?
Peridot realized where she was at. She was in the Beta Kindergarden and she was in one the old cells used for Jasper's corrupted gems.
Viggo: Ah, your finally awake.
Peridot: Viggo?
Viggo: Peridot, how wonderful to see you again. Now you and the others can join our little reunion.
Peridot: Reunion?
Acha: Peridot? Is that you?
Peridot: Acha?
Peridot could hear Acha and Kocha both in separate cells next to hers.
Peridot: Acha? You're here too?
Acha: Yeah, welcome to the club.
Viggo: This will be the end for all of you.
Peridot: Oh yeah we'll see about that!
Peridot attempted to break out by moving the bars with her metal powers.
Viggo: Are you?
Peridot then just realized she had the restraint collar on her neck.
Peridot: ( groans) Of course. What did I expect?
Viggo: Now all that's left is Steven.
Peridot: What? What do you want him for?
Viggo: Because Pink Diamond betrayed Gien a long time ago. She's the cause of this. If she hadn't had a soft spot for this planet, our lord and master would still be here.
Peridot: But Steven isn't her.
Viggo: He's the closest we can get and once we have him. Our first phase, exterminating the traitors will commence.
Huntress enters with a group of soldiers.
Viggo: Have the other gems arrived yet?
Huntress: No sign of them anywhere.
Viggo: They wouldn't wait this long. What are they doing?
Meanwhile.
Bomber just drank a vile of super gartronium. He grunted and yelled as he felt the power changing him. Everyone just watched as he transformed.
He stood up again. Now towering 8 feet tall with large muscular build. Brief glimpses of electricity would surrond his body now and the. He looked at them with a mad looked as he breathed loudly.
Pearl: I can't believe he actually did that.
Amethyst: It's a Super Bomber the Lame.
Steven: I thought that stuff would kill him.
Revenger: Only if he takes a second dose.
Garnet: Do have any advice Revenger?
Revenger: Just one. Stay alive until the effects wear off.
Super Bomber: Give...him...to me...now!
Bismuth: No way you uppercrust!
Bismuth runs to Super Bomber.
Garnet: Bismuth. No!
Bismuth was about to hit Super Bomber, but to him, she was going so slow and he throws one punch at her , sending her flying far away.
Pearl: Bismuth!
Lapis: He's that strong?
Revenger: Do not let him get to you!
Super Bomber turned back to everyone. He rose up into the air and formed a glowing ball of red energy in his hand. He fired it down the raining projectiles at them.
Steven: Guys, take cover.
Steven formed his shield and enlarged it to cover everyone.
Connie: Steven, I think we should fuse on this one.
Steven: I agree.
Super Bomber: That can't protect you. Missile mode!
Super Bomber transforms into his missile form and launches himself at Steven's shield, causing it to disappear. The smoke clears up and Stevonnie stands where Steven was.
Revenger: You're fusions won't stand any chance against him.
Stevonnie: I know that, but it's a little safer for Steven and Connie.
Super Bomber: Hahahaha! That won't do you any good.
Everyone kept their guard up as Super Bomber made his way to them. He kept moving at fast speed attacking each of the gems one by one with just one hit. He knocked Pearl's spear out of her hands and kicked her away. He blasted Amethyst with his enhanced laser cannon. He knocked out Lapis before she could use her powers at him. Garnet tried attacking him from behind. He saw her coming and blasted her. Revenger lasted a little longer against Super Bomber. He was able to dodge a few of his attacks, but he couldn't land a hit on him either. Super Bomber punched him in the stomach and then across the face. After that the only ones left standing were Stevonnie, Lion, Charlie and Volleyball.
Super Bomber got a glimps of Volleyball, remembering the time he first saw her, still disgusted by her appearence.
Super Bomber: You! It's the ugly pearl.
Volleyball gasped when he called her that. She was frozen in hear. Charlie stood in front of her trying to protect her.
Super Bomber: I can't stand that look of yours. Let's fix that.
Super Bomber aimed his arm cannon at them. But Lion roared an energy wave at him. It barely nudged him. Lion and Stevonnie tried to guard them. Lion teleported and attempted to get him from behind. Super Bomber stepped sidestepped and elbowed Lion on the head and kicks him to the ground. Lion was down and Super Bomber was about to shoot him, until Stevonnie stepped in and shielded him.
Super Bomber: You again!
Stevonnie: Revenger said I don't have to beat you, just stall you until you power out.
Super Bomber heard a beeping noise coming from his wrist. He looks down and saw a meter indicating his super gartronium supply is running low.
Super Bomber: Already? I used that much of it? No matter, this won't change anything.
Super Bomber at high speed knocked the shield out of Stevonnie's hand and knocks her down. He stomps onto her back.
Super Bomber: Unfuse.
Super Bomber stomps on her back again.
Super Bomber: I said unfuse!
He grabs her by her hair and punches her in the face. She tried slashing him with her sword ( which was Connie's sword that used to be Pink's), but he grabs her arm before she could hit him.
Super Bomber: Is this your weapon fusion? This toy?
Super Bomber with his free arm formed and aura around it and swipes the blade, shattering it into pieces.
Stevonnie: No!
He lets go of her as Stevonnie looked at her broken sword.
Super Bomber: This has gone far enough! Missile mode!
Super Bomber transforms into missile form and launches himself at Stevonnie. She kept her shield up, but the impact was too strong realeasing an explosion. The smoke cleares up and Steven and Connie were on the ground, the latter holding her broken sword. Bomber finally got back up, but was back to normal.
Bomber: Well, it was fun while it lasted. Atleast I got what I need.
Bomber made his way to Steven, who was weakened.
Steven: Bo-Bomber...
Bomber: It's time to go boy.
Bomber teleports out of the area with Steven. Connie just saw this happening but was too late to stop him.
Connie: No, Steven!
The others finally got back up after the beating.
Pearl: What happened? He took Steven?
Connie: I saw. He lost his power, but still won.
Revenger: If that's the case then he should be weakened by that kind of power.
Lapis: You guys said Viggo was gathering them at the Beta Kindergarden right. We should go save them.
Pearl: Wait where's Bismuth?
They heard Bismuth from behind as she was running to them after being thrown far into the distance.
Bismuth: ( panting) So-Sorry guys... let's take this uppercrust down...
Amethyst: He already left with Steven.
Bismuth: Augh! Seriously how do I keep missing the action. Wait, he took young leader? Okay, now I'm mad.
Amethyst: Alright G, everyone's here and accounted for, let's go to the warp.
Garnet: Wait, they'll be expecting us there. We need to get around them. We need Lion for specific teleportation.
They looked over to Lion who Connie and Volleyball were comforting. He looked hurt after being beaten by Bomber. Lion tried getting up, but fell back down.
Connie: Oh no, Lion can't warp us to our destination.
Revenger: So then we'll have to take them head on on the warp.
Lion motioned to Charlie and gave him a soft growl to come to him. Charlie approached Lion as the latter tried speaking to him with his growls.
Charlie: What? I can do that?
Lion nodded in response.
Garnet: What is it Charlie?
Charlie: Lion tells me because Steven healed me the same way his mom healed him, I have the same powers as he does. He says I can warp you to where ever you need to go.
Bismuth: So you're a magical pink dog now. Great, take us now.
Garnet: Do you remember where the Beta Kindergarden is?
Charlie tilted his head.
Charlie: Uh, um... no.
Garnet: Okay uh...how do I explain this? Do you atleast remember when you first met us? Desert area. Lots of holes around.
Charlie: Vaguely.
Lapis: Just try and concentrate, you can do this Charlie.
Charlie: Okay.
Charlie let out a bark that created a portal.
Charlie: Whoa. I actually did it.
Connie: Alright let's go.
Pearl: Connie, I think it's best for you to stay here with Volleyball to help Lion.
Connie: But...
Revenger: No offense, but without a weapon, you can't go. But we will get him back.
Bismuth: And later I'll make you a new sword. A better one.
Connie: ( sigh) Okay, good luck guys.
They stepped inside the portal to their destination, but once they got out, they weren't at the Beta Kindergarden, instead it was the barn.
Amethyst: Wait, this isn't it?
Pearl: What happened?
Charlie: Sorry, I'm trying to remember every place I've been, but I ended up here.
Garnet: Try again.
Charlie lets out another bark and makes a portal, instead it took them to Cherrystone park.
Revenger: This is still not it. What are you trying to pull?
Charlie: I've never done this before. One minute I was dead, suddenly I'm back with magic powers, what do you expect?
Lapis: Don't pressure him Revenger. Keep trying Charlie.
Charlie tried again as they kept jumping from location to location.
Meanwhile at the Beta Kindergarden. Bomber was dragging Steven to Huntress and Viggo.
Steven: Let me go!
Bomber: Stop that. You're not making this easy for me.
Suddenly he is cut off by two Aerodroids. They landed down and aimed their arm cannons at him.
Bomber: Wait! I bring a gift to your leaders.
Bomber showed them Steven as they lowered down their weapons and looked at eachother confused.
Next shot shows the two Aerodroids guiding Bomber to Huntress and Viggo who were in front of the cells. They noticed Bomber and did not look happy.
Viggo: Bomber, how dare you show your face again after what you did?
Bomber: Wait I did not come to fight, but make peace, look.
He showed them Steven as they looked surprise. Peridot, Acha and Kocha saw this as well.
Peridot: Steven!
Bomber: I bring you the boy. I, I have done this. I captured him. I was wounded. I fought off those gems to get him.
Viggo stepped forth and looked at the two.
Steven: Viggo?
Viggo: Did you miss me? I have to say Bomber I'm impressed. You actually brought him here.
Huntress: Viggo, what are you...
Bomber: Consider this my atonement for what I've done. I don't ask to become leader again, just part of the winning team once more.
Viggo: I understand.
Huntress: What?
Viggo: Guards! Lock up these two.
Bomber: Wait what?
A group of Black Knight droids come in and grab them and locks them up in their own cells.
Steven: Peridot?
Peridot: Steven! Not you too.
Bomber: Stop what are you doing? I brought the most wanted target. You should be thanking me.
Viggo: Do you really expect us to forget everything that happened?
Bomber: Well... I mean can't we just put the past behind us.
Viggo: Yes, yes we can. And we'll do that once we excute you.
Bomber: NOO!
Viggo leaves the cells to meet back with Huntress.
Huntress: You startled me right there.
Viggo: You know me better than that. I'm not stupid.
Huntress: I never said you were. Now, is it time to kill them?
Viggo: We'll be starting very soon. Now that they're all here, gather all droids with fire arms.
Huntress nods to go get them as we cut to the prisoners.
Acha: Well, I guess this is the end for us.
Kocha: That's really not helping.
Acha: Too scared!
Peridot: Steven, if this is truly the end for us. I want to let you know that you truly were my friend. Even when you found out who I really was you still cared about me. I'm sorry I got you involved in all this.
Steven: It's not your fault, you didn't know better. I love you Peridot.
Peridot: ( sniffs) Wow, thanks.
Bomber: Hey, do you mind keeping your sentimental fluff to yourself?
Peridot: What are you gonna do about Bomber the Clod. What did you do to get yourself kicked off?
Bomber: Let's just say I've done something unforgivable to your master before he died. If I haden't used the vile of super gartronium, I could've easily busted out of here.
Peridot: Wait, what?
Acha: You consumed super gartronium?
Kocha: Are you insane?
Bomber: I was desperate to get back and I hoped turning you in would help.
Steven: Wait do you have anymore?
Bomber: Just this one vile right here.
Bomber takes out the second vile of super gartronium.
Bomber: But I'm not using it to save you and even if I did I would die from it.
Peridot: Unless if you take only a drop, it should last a few minutes which will break us free.
Bomber: And why should I do this?
Peridot: You want to die like this?
Bomber looked at the Aerodroids loading their arm cannons and he gulped.
Bomber: I can't believe I'm doing this. But fine.
Bomber attempts on taking a few drops of super gartronium, but his vile is suddenly taken away by Huntress.
Bomber: No!
Huntress: What is this?
Hunterss looks at the vile and realizes what it is.
Viggo: What is going on?
Huntress: He was going to break out by drinking super gartronium.
Huntress strapped the vile around her waist for safe keeping.
Viggo: So you'd rather die escaping than by our hands Bomber.
Bomber: I don't wanna die. I wanna live.
Viggo: Of course you do. Take them out.
On the top cliffs of the Beta Kindergarden.
After many failed attempts on getting there, Charlie finally gets there with the gems.
Charlie: Is this it?
Lapis: Yes, good job Charlie.
Pearl: I hope we're not too late.
Amethyst: Hey guys look.
They looked down and saw the hostages being pulled out of their cells and about to be executed.
Acha: Come on Huntress you don't want to do this to us. We've known you as long as Gien did. We were friends.
Huntress: We were, but that was a different time for us. Things changed. You changed for the worst and because of this, you're going to die.
Huntress and the soldiers pulled them all out, tied up their hands to the back and blind folded them. They were going to execute them by firing arms.
Viggo: Any last requests?
Bomber: Uh, could you just let me go and kill these three.
Viggo: ( silent chuckles) That's what they all say.
Acha: Actually wait, can we watch the recent episode of Camp Pining Hearts. I just got into it and I need some catching up to do.
Peridot: And I haven't watched in like...forever.
Kocha: That's what you're worried about?!
Steven: And I never told Connie how I felt about her.
Kocha: Well that's understandable.
Viggo: Ok enough already! Huntress, you may fire when ready.
Huntress nodded and was with four Aerodroids.
Huntress: Ready!
They presented arms.
Huntress: Aim!
Then they aimed their firearms at them. Suddenly the portal appeared in front of her. Charlie jumped out and barked an energy wave at them, knocking them away. As he did the others appeared behind him.
Charlie: Stop this now!
Peridot: Charlie?
Huntress: You again? Does nothing stay dead anymore?
Viggo: Ah so you did come.
Garnet: Viggo, you won't be executing any of our friends. Pearl, Lapis, go free the others.
Pearl: Right.
Lapis: We're on it.
While Pearl and Lapis went to rescue Steven and friends, the others took on Viggo, Huntress and their groups of soldiers.
Pearl: Steven are you okay?
Steven: It was scary for a moment, but I'm okay.
Peridot: Do you guys always show up the last minute?
Pearl: We don't always show up last minute, but this time Charlie was just getting used to his new powers.
Peridot looked over to Charlie, who was now pink and had powers like Steven's pet Lion.
Steven: I brought him back for you Peridot.
Peridot: Wow, thanks.
Acha: Oh god what's going on! I can't see. Kocha if this is the end, I was the one who used the last of your steel polish.
Kocha: You what?
Lapis: Guys, relax your fine.
Lapis takes off both their blindfolds and frees them.
Acha: Oh thanks Lapis.
Kocha: You want to run by that me again?
Acha: Can we discuss about this later?
Bomber: Wait, what about me?
Peridot: What about you?
Bomber: Free me and I can help you.
Pearl: Like how you stole Steven from us? Absolutly not.
Lapis: You should be dead right now after everything you did.
Steven: Sorry Bomber, but you're too unpredicatable.
They leave Bomber and go back to fight with the others.
Bomber: You will regret this. You hear me? You will regret this!
The others go back and fight. Acha and Kocha mainly stayed out of the fight, until one of the Gara Soldiers fell dead in front of him. Acha looked down and back at the others and picked up the spear it was holding.
Kocha: What are you doing?
Acha: We can't hide, we have to help. This is what I've been training for. If Pearl can do it, so can I.
Another Gara Soldier was approaching them. He tried to remember what Pearl taught him, but he mainly defended himself. The soldier knocked off his weapon. It was about to kill him until it is stabbed from behind by Pearl.
Acha: Thanks Pearl.
Pearl: That's very brave of you Acha, but we'll talk more later, right now stay by me.
Acha: Right.
Kocha: I'll help.
Mainly Garnet, Revenger and Bismuth fought against Viggo and Huntress, during the fight the vile of suepr gartronium Huntress stole from Bomber fell out and broke, but it broke in front of Bomber, who was just setting himself free. He noticed a single drop on a glass shard.
Bomber: One drop is all I need.
Bomber carfully takes the shard and lifts it above his mouth as the last drop of super gartronium falls to his mouth. His eyes widened as dropped the shard, he began to transform again. Everyone stopped and turned to him as he turned into Super Bomber again.
Viggo: What?
Amethyst: Great, not this again.
Super Bomber: I told you would regret this!
Gara soldiers surrounded him, but he blasted them all into pieces. He attacked everyone, both the Crystal Gems and Gara Droids. Viggo wrapped him around with his whip, but he broke out and punched him across the face.
Huntress: Viggo!
Huntress went over to help Viggo up. Super Bomber grabbed her by her ponytail and lifted her up.
Super Bomber: How does it feel to be beaten by a low class robot Huntress?
Super Bomber punched her in the stomach and threw her into a wall. Super Bomber turned to the gems, mainly Steven.
Super Bomber: I have officially had enough of you gems, especially you boy! Missile mode.
Super Bomber transformed into his missile form and flew up into the air and was coming down at them.
Super Bomber: You want to know what Gien's biggest mistake was? Letting you all to live just to get what he wants!
Super Bomber was about to make impact on him, until all of the sudden, he was struck by a laser beam, knocking him down back into robot mode.
Super Bomber: Who...who did that?
?: That's my target!
Everyone heard a familiar voice. They looked up on a cliff and saw a silouhette figure on a cliff.
?: I finally found you all here.
Revenger: Wait, who's that?
Garnet: I don't... I don't know...
Bomber: Who are you? I demand you show yourself.
?: Perhaps you need a closer look.
The figure landed to the ground and showed himself. He was a tall android figure that stood 6.2 with a metallic silver body with a athletic build. He had a red orb on his abdomen, sharp fingers and built in boots. He had a more humanoid like face with a long chin, more detailed robotic yellow slanted eyes, and a familiar looking V crest. He formed a grin on his face.
?: Now do you recognize me?
They were still confused, but Peridot, Steven, Bomber Viggo and Huntress recognized him.
Huntress: ( gasps) Is it...
Viggo: This defies all logic.
Steven: Peridot is it..
Peridot: It is...Gien.
Everyone now looked horrified as they realized that android is Gien.
Amethyst: Wait what?
Pearl: It can't be.
Revenger: No...you're supposed to be dead.
Bomber: No. You can't be. You're dead!
Gien: Oh but it is. I have returned!
