Chapter 72:

The Return of Gien

Gien is alive. How was this possible? How could someone have survied being crushed inside his ship by his own creation and why does he look different? These were questions racing everyone's minds. Peridot was shaking, she hoped she'd finally be away from her dark past, but he just keeps coming back haunting her. Revenger is angered that he never fulfilled mission. Bomber was freaking out and was confused as his super powers were finally gone. Huntress looked surprised, but deep down she was relieved to see him alive and well. Gien looked at the gems and his teamates and they looked at them as if they had seen a ghost. Gien first turned his attention Viggo and Huntress.

Huntress: Gien...is that really you?

Gien: Yes Huntress it is I. I have returned from the depths of Hell intact.

Huntress ran to hug him. She wanted to yell at him to never scare her like that again, but she wasn't leader and it would seem like a bad time.

Viggo: I don't understand how this is possible.

Gien: I can say the same for you Viggo. I was so sure you perished from Project Verokran.

Viggo: It's a long story that I will explain later.

Gien motioned to Bomber as the latter gulped.

Gien: I will deal with you in a minute.

Finally he turned to the gems.

Gien: If it isn't my old friends again. Hahaha! Peridot, how wonderful to see you again.

Peridot: No...no...no...no!

Gien: Come now. Is that anyway to greet your old master?

Revenger snapped and charged at him with his wrist blade. Gien without reacting much grabs his fist before the blades could puncture him. Revenger's eyes widened, how did he do that? Gien's eyes shifted to Revenger.

Gien: You know I was going to get to you Revenger, no need to jump in. But since you're here.

Gien electricutes Revenger with his electric touch and then blasts him with his laser eyes.

Steven: Revenger!

Gien: Anyone else want to greet me personally?

Bismuth: No, but we're the goodbye party.

Garnet: I'll end it now.

Garnet charged at Gien and tried punching. He was fast and blocked every move. His arms began to glow as it formed a green aura around them and blew five punches at Garnet, knocking her back. What was going on? He was never this strong before, he never fought before but this time he is.

Amethyst: Dude, this guy's good.

Pearl: But we're better.

Pearl went up against him next and tried slashing him. His steel arms blocked every attack, barely leaving a scratch. The next attack she did, he grabbed the spear and punches her in the stomach, making her fall. Amethyst formed into a ball and spindashed at him. He simply kicked her away like a soccer ball as she ends up hitting Bismuth.

Gien: ( silent chuckles) Is that all you got?

Gien felt his body froze, he noticed it was Peridot who was holding him with her metal powers.

Lapis: Hold him so I can hit him.

Peridot: You get him!

Lapis formed what little water she had in her gem and formed ice stalactites.

Huntress: Darling!
Huntress was about to help until Viggo stopped her!

Viggo: No wait!

The orb on Gien's abdomen began to glow as it shot out an energy beam at them, causing Peridot to loose control of him.

Gien made his way to Steven. He kept his shield up. The others rejoined him, but they were now surrounded by the entire Gara Droid army, aiming there weapons at them. Steven formed a big shield.

Gien: That cannont save you this time. Prepare disruptor weapons.

The Gara Droids readied their disruptor weapons and aimed.

Amethyst: Great, now what are supposed to do?

Steven didn't know what to do and as he was in a thought he placed his hand on Charlie's back and realized something. It was going through.

Steven: Huh?

Charlie: What?

Steven: Charlie stay still.

Charlie: What is it?

Steven stuck his head inside. Steven got a look on where he was at and it was the pink dimension that was in Lion's mane and even got a glimps of the tree with Pink's stuff. He took his head back outside.

Charlie: Uhhh. That felt weird.

Garnet: What was that Steven?

Steven: I think I got a way out. Charlie you know how to get back?

Charlie: I do. For real this time.

Gien: Fire!

The disruptor weapons were fired. Steven's shield blew up and the area was all dusty that they couldn't see. Gien couldn't see what happened until suddenly Charlie barked out an energy wave at him knocking him on his back. As he fell back he noticed they were all gone.

Gien: What? Where did they go?

Charlie: Sorry, but I can't play now.

Charlie barked to create a portal and exited out.

Viggo: NOO! They escaped!

Viggo motioned to Gien who was getting back up.

Viggo: Forgive me my lord. My plan to execute the traitors failed.

Gien: I would be disappointed Viggo, but I have bigger plans this time. But first...

Gien motioned to Bomber.

Bomber: My lord let me just say I am relieved you're alive. I, I know what I did was wrong and I deeply regretted after.

Gien: Is that right?

Bomber: Y-Yes, I tried to keep your legacy alive and I tried to make up for it by bringing the boy here and...

Gien: Do not take me for a fool Bomber!

Bomber: My lord please, I know I screwed up big time.

Gien: And was that I heard about my mistake? I've made some mistakes before, but this is one I do not intend on making again!

Gien grabs Bomber by his head as he struggled.

Bomber: No master please I beg of you! Have mercy on me! Please!

Gien: Take me to our new base.

Viggo: But what about the Crystal Gems?

Gien: We will deal with them later. Right now I have some unfinished buisness to take care of.

Bomber: No! NOOOO!

Back at the house.

Connie and Volleyball were inside healing Lion when suddenly Steven and the others came out of his mane.

Steven: Whoa that was too close.

Connie: Guys you're here, but where's Charlie?

The portal opens near them and Charlie emerges.

Peridot: Charlie!

Peridot ran up to hug and pet him.

Peridot: I was so worried. I thought that clod killed you and...

Charlie: Hey, hey easy Peridot, I'm okay. Just different but I'm glad we were able to save you.

Charlie the licks her face as Peridot continued to scratch his head. Connie looked around how everyone looked like they got beat or looked upset.

Connie: Guys are you okay? What happened out there?

Garnet: It's Gien. He's alive.

Connie: What?

Pearl: He is and is somehow stronger than he was before.

Steven: How is this possible?

Peridot: That's how they were made. They're built to be the most resiliant soldiers for Homeworld even more stronger than a Jasper or any Quartz soldier.

Bismuth: Yeah well tell that to the countless scrapheaps we beat. So what made him different?

Revenger: I knew I should've searched for his body after his ship blew up! How can I be so stupid!?

Steven: Revenger relax. We all thought no one could have survived that.

Garnet: The only thing we can do now is prepare ourselves for whatever next attack he has planned next.

Revenger: ( sarcastic tone) Oh okay, so this is the plan from our great leader huh? Just sit here on our butts.

Garnet: I never said I was your great leader.

Revenger: Yeah, well you sure act like it.

Pearl: Stop it, what's your problem?

Revenger: My problem is that we never had an advantage against the enemy. Both Viggo and Gien were never dead and we slacked off because of it. We should have made sure they'd stay dead.

Bismuth: How is this our fault?

Revenger: You just assumed they were dead. I mean how could you Garnet not see them coming for someone who has future vision. How can you call yourselves guardians of this planet if you can't even get the job right?

Lapis: Revenger stop! Relax!

Revenger: Don't tell me to relax!

Amethyst: Okay dude back off! I'll admit I'm not brightest tool in the shed but if I recall you made the same mistake as we did.

Revenger: You...I...

Revenger stopped what he was saying upset, he didn't know how to reply to that.

Garnet: Revenger, we all made a mistake here. But pointing fingers and blaming others won't solve anything. You're attitude of your's isn't helping.

Revenger: I don't have time for this.

Revenger makes his way to the door.

Garnet: Revenger where are you going?

Revenger: Going out to finish something that you can't. You guys are on your own.

Lapis: Revenger.

Revenger exits the house as Steven and Lapis followed him out.

Steven: Revenger where are you going?

Revenger: Where do you think, back to the Kindergarden where they're residing. But this time I'm attacking my way.

Steven: That way of yours is going to get you killed.

Revenger: So is your way. What difference does it make? Plus I'm already dead.

Steven: You know what I'm talking about.

Revenger continued walking ignoring him.

Steven: Are you even listening to me?

Revenger: I'm listening, but I'm ignoring it. I work alone now Steven.

Lapis: If you leave and die over there, you're going to regret dying alone.

Revenger: I regret nothing.

Lapis: Have you forgotten what I told you?

Revenger: Told me what?

Lapis: When we first met, I told you it wasn't good for you to hold on to your anger and to distance from everyone.

Revenger: And look what I've accomplished by doing that, NOTHING!

Lapis and Steven frowned seeing Revenger lash out at them nor have they seen him this angry.

Revenger: I work alone now and that is final! Goodbye!

Revenger jumps up and flies away into the horizon. Lapis looked down upset.

Steven: Sorry Lapis.

Lapis: He hates us now doesn't he?

Steven: He's upset, but I don't think truly meant it.

Lapis: I hope not.

Steven: He needs time alone, but I hope we see him again and doesn't do anything reckless.

Meanwhile at the Gara Droid base.

Bomber was strapped to an operating table with Gien present along with medical droids.

Bomber: What, what is this? What are you going to do?

Gien: You commited a terrible crime that would get you executed Bomber.

Bomber: My lord, please just give me one more chance I'll lead a great attack to the gems.

Gien looks at him and thinks for a moment.

Gien: As a matter of fact I do need you for one more thing. I need you to stall the Crystal Gems for me so I can finish my new plan.

Bomber: Of course, I can do that.

Gien: But just to make sure you don't plan anything else behind my back, I am going to have to take control of you.

Bomber's eye's widened.

Bomber: W-What!?

Gien speaks to the medical droids.

Gien: Plant the mind control device in his head, I need to do something. Oh and don't switch him to stasis, I want him to feel every bit of it.

The medical droids nod and take out tools for the operation. One of them takes out a drill and turns it on.

Bomber: My lord, no please. Stop! NOOOOOOO!

Gien leaves the operating room and meets back with Huntress and Viggo in the lab.

Huntress: My lord, tell me again why you didn't want to kill him after what he did?

Gien: I need a diversion for the gems so they won't be on to me, then you can kill him.

Viggo: I diversion for what?

Gien takes out what appears to be a container from his chest. In it was some kind of cocoon with black eyes.

Gien: Place this in the incubation room so it will hatch.

Viggo: But what is this? Where did you get this? How are you alive?

Huntress: We deserve to know darling tell us.

Gien looks away from them for a minute but decides to tell them his story

Gien: It's a long story, but an interesting one and was something I've never experienced in my life...
