Chapter 73: Bomber's Last Stand
Viggo: I don't understand any of this. How is something like that possible?
Gien: What else is there to say, but this cocoon needs to be hatched. The creature Semimaru will help us succeed.
Huntress: Semimaru?
Gien: Once he hatches, he will be useful against the gems, homeworld and will help me reclaim Pink Diamond.
Viggo and Huntress looked at each other. Gien still wants Pink Diamond back after what she did? They tried to kill Steven because they blamed Pink Diamond for his supposed death.
Gien: What are you looking confused for?
Viggo: My lord, you still wish to bring back Pink Diamond?
Gien: Of course I am, why wouldn't I?
Viggo: My lord, I understand you respect her, but she's the cause of all this trouble.
Huntress: I have to agree with him darling. I know you have been holding back on the invasion when you started because you want Pink back.
Gien: Have the two of you forgotten that she is the reason I made this army. That she inspired me to follow my dreams. Without her, neither one of you would be here today.
Viggo: But at the same time she betrayed you.
Gien: NO!
Gien shot out an electric beam at the wall from his arm, silencing both Viggo and Huntress.
Gien: She never wanted this. It was her Pearl and the Diamonds. They hated her and me. They lied and manipulated her. I am trying to save her from that. I didn't come back here just to simply destroy. I want her to see what I've accomplished and maybe, just maybe if she still wants this planet to be her colony I will help her finish it and make it suitable for her and us. If not of course I'll destroy it so it would never haunt us again.
Huntress: Of course... we apologize for questioning your motives.
Viggo: We live serve you to the end my lord. But about the plan, you say this Semimaru will help us.
Gien: It's what I was told, but I know the fusion of there's will see it and try and stop us and I need 24 hours to incubate it to hatch. That's why I need Bomber to distract them.
Huntress: How do you know he won't betray you?
Gien: He won't, I'm making sure of that.
One of the medical droids enters the room and approaches Gien, speaking to him in beeps and buzzes.
Gien: Excellent. Viggo, Huntress take Bomber to a large populated area and have him destroy whatever he see's.
Viggo: Will he be strong enough to defeat the Crystal Gems.
Gien: No. As I said, he's only a distraction,but he won't be easy to kill with this.
Gien gives him a remote control.
Gien: If he falls, just press the button and he'll be forced back to fight.
Viggo: Yes my lord.
Gien: I will remain here to incubate the cocoon so Semimaru will rise.
Viggo: Yes, let's go Huntress.
Viggo leaves the room. Huntress looked at Gien and hugged him.
Huntress: I don't want to go, I want to stay with you.
Gien: You have your orders.
Huntress: I thought you were dead, I wanted to avenge you. Do you have any idea how devastated I was.
Gien: I can only imagine. But I need my trusted troops to handle this. I have to make sure the plan goes accordingly.
Huntress sighed and looked at him in the eyes dead serious.
Huntress: Alright darling, I'll be back. But... don't ever scare me like that again or I will hunt you down.
Gien was taken back of Huntress's tone, but then smiled and kissed him.
Huntress: I'm kidding my love, just stay here.
Huntress let's go of him and leaves the base.
Gien: I swear I don't understand her.
Gien proceeds with his work and places the cocoon in a dome case as he turns up the heat.
Gien: Soon Semimaru, you will rise.
The next day at the house.
Steven: No.
Steven changed the channel on his tv.
Steven: No.
He changed the next channel.
Steven: No.
As he flips through the channels Pearl and Amethyst enter.
Amethyst: Dude, what's up?
Steven: I'm trying to find something else to watch, but theres nothing on.
Pearl: Steven with all these channels on this television there has to be something.
Amethyst: Give me the remote, I'll find ya something.
Amethyst takes the remote and changes the channels super fast.
Steven: It's too fast, how can you even tell what's on?
Amethyst: I can tell I have amazing eyesight.
As she flips through the channels Steven's phone rings. He looks at the caller ID and it's Connie. Steven answers.
Steven: Hey Connie.
Connie: Steven where are you at now?
Steven: At home, trying to find something to watch why?
Connie: Turn on the news. I think you need to see this!
Steven: Amethyst, put on the news.
Amethyst: Why it's just a bunch of mumbo jumbo stuff?
Steven: Connie say's it's urgent.
Pearl: Why? What's going on?
Amethyst: We're about to see hold on.
Amethyst continues flipping the channels until they noticed she passed the news channel.
Pearl: Wait that was it.
Steven: Go back!
Amethyst: Too late already half way through I need to around it's faster...oh hey Batman the animated series.
Pearl and Steven: Amethyst!
Amethyst: Okay jeez...( mumbles) Mrs. Bossy and Bossy Jr.
Amethyst continues flipping the channels until she got back at the news.
Steven: Okay that's it!
Pearl: Stop right there.
Amethyst stops on the channel as the watched the Channel 6 news.
Anchorman: We've recieved numerous reports all over the country of citezens witnessing what appears to be a super sonic UFO flying all over the country.
Footage of someone recording from the ground a black figure from the sky flying at high speed.
Amethyst: Dude, what is that?
Steven: Do you think this is Gien?
Pearl: I'll go get Garnet just to make sure, keep it on.
Pearl goes down to get Garnet as they kept watching.
Anchor woman: We just sent a jet fighter pilot to investigate.
Anchor man: That's right, we now go to Ollie Williams live on the story. Ollie?
Ollie Williams: IT'S MOVING REAL FAST!
Anchor man: Thanks Ollie.
The Anchorman is then recieved a report on the update.
Anchor man: Oh, we just recieved reports that the investigator pilot was shot down by the UFO. Reports also say it's heading next to Empire city and with that the military is now on pursuit for it.
The scene cuts to the military. A jet fighter squadron of 12 fighters flying up to take on the target.
( Queue Get Rodan or Get King Ghidorah theme)
Lead pilot: Come in Cheeta S Squadron. The target is getting close.
They were getting close and saw the target. They didn't recognize it, but it was really Bomber the Great but much bigger than before. He was now the size of Alexandrite. His hands were also missing his right hand had a built in sword and his left had a hook. His visors were no longer red but now were pitch black.
Pilot: Look at the size of that thing.
Pilot 2: What the hell is that?
Lead Pilot: Get into formation! Ready, fire!
The jets fired at him from behind, but it didn't really hurt him.
Lead Pilot: Direct hit!
Bomber looked back to see what hit him.
Bomber: Filthly insects.
Bomber turned around and attacked them he went at them. The Jet fighters continued firing at him, but Bomber got close to two of them and destroyed them with his sword arm. Another two he destroyed with his arm cannon. He flew into a summersault to get behind. The lead pilot looked up trying to find him. Bomber got them from behind and shot another pilot down.
Lead Pilot: Watch out! Spread out and attack!
The squadron did so and tried attacking him from different angles. Their weapons however were no match for him. The lead pilot however noticed the engines attached to his feet. Maybe that's the weak spot.
Lead Pilot: All units. Get him from behind and fire at the engines in his feet. I repeat aim for the engines in his feet.
While Bomber took down yet another jet. The lead pilot and two others were behind him.
Lead Pilot: Ready, fire!
The jets fired at the engines at Bomber's feet, this time effecting him.
Lead Pilot: Fire!
They fired again, causing the engines to explode and Bomber falls to the ground.
Lead Pilot: Target is falling. I repeat! Target is falling.
Bomber was falling down. He was near Empire City and was falling into the bay. He lands in the water and sinks deep below. As this happened, Viggo and Huntress were on top of one of the buildings watching the whole thing.
Huntress: There he goes, losing to something weaker than him. This time by this planet's primitive military.
Viggo: He won't be down for long.
Viggo takes out the remote Gien gave him.
Viggo: Let's see what this does.
Viggo presses the button. They noticed the water in the bay bubbling and flashing. Moments later, Bomber jumped out of the water and onto land. He was screaming like a maniac and started to attackt he city. He was destroying buildings, knocking them down and setting them on fire. The military tried to fight back. This time on land and rows of tanks and missile launchers were set.
Soldier: Sir I can see the target heading this way. And judging by this next scene, I fear that...
But before he could finish his sentance the general slaps him across the face.
General: Damn it we're not doing that gag anymore, fire away.
Soldier: Roger, fire, fire!
The military fire away at Bomber. He took every hit, the weapons weren't much harmful to him but did agrovate him.
Bomber: Puny...insects...DIE!
Bomber fired away at the military, blowing up the tanks as the soldiers retreat.
Soldiers: Where the heck are the Avengers?
The general slaps him in the face again.
Gerneral: Damn it we're not doing that gag anymore either because the writer here can't think of anymore jokes, plus we don't to drag the story. Retreat!
The army retreats as Bomber continued attacking. Far from the city the whole Crystal gem team arrive with Lion.
Pearl: Is that Bomber?
Amethyst: How did he get so big?
Bismuth: I don't know, but we're putting that uppercrust scrap heap down.
Steven: Do you guys need me to be Obsidian?
Garnet: Judging by his power and past fights, we should be able to handle him.
Peridot: Just call us for back up.
Garnet: Alright. Pearl, Amethyst, lets do this.
The three of them danced together and fused into Alexandrite. She made her way to Bomber in the city.
Viggo: Ah, here comes the gems now. Lets see what Bomber can do.
Viggo presses the button again as it shocks Bomber. He turns to the Crystal Gems.
Bomber: Crystal...Gems...
Alexandrite: This has gone far enough Bomber!
Bomber: No... I will destroy you for my master!
Bomber runs at Alexandrite and slashes her. He tries to hit her again until she grabbed his arm and throws him aside. He gets back up and fires his arm cannon at her, she dodged every attack and formed Sardonyx's hammer and slammed in the front of his body. She hit the hammer upwards, under his chin sending him in the air. She jumped up and was slightly above him. She hit him once more with the hammer sending him back to the ground. Alexandrite landed back onto the ground and saw Bomber trying to get up, but fails and his body goes limb, appearing to be dead.
Steven: They did it!
Peridot: Ha! That clod was hardly challenge to them.
Bismuth: Yeah! That's how we roll!
Alexandrite dropped her guard and was about to leave.
Huntress: There he goes, back down.
Viggo: Not for long.
Viggo presses the button. An electric shock forms around Bomber's head as he is revived, screaming in agony. Alexandrite turned back, but is pushed down by Bomber.
Bismuth: Wait,he's alive!
Steven: Guys!
Bomber was trying to stab his sword arm at Alexandrite's face, she doged every move and kicked him off. She formed Amethyst's whip and wrapped it around his body. But he easily cut free with his hands.
Bomber: Missile mode!
Bomber transforms into his missile form and launches himself at Alexandrite. He hits her as she falls back into a building, collapsing onto her. He stabs her in the chest with his sword hand as she roars in pain. He was about to do the same to her face with his hook. However she grabs his hook hand with one arm and with three of her other arms she tried pushing him off by grabbing the edge of his arm sword and pulling the blade out of her. She got back up and punched him across the face and in the stomach. She picked him up and threw him into another buidling and finally formed Opal's bow and arrow.
Alexandrite: This ends now...
Alexandrite fires the arrow at Bomber as it pierces through his chest. He grunts as he looked down at the clean hole in his chest, leaking black blood.
Bomber: I can't...
Bomber falls back, dying. Alexandrite turned back to walk away. Then she heard Bomber screaming in pain again.
Alexandrite: What?
Suddenly she felt pain in her chest. Bomber quickly got up and stabbed her again. He pulls out his sword and blasts her with an arm cannon.
Bismuth: Hold on what?
Steven: Nobody could have survived that!
Lapis: Even Malachite lost to it.
Peridot: Something is not right here. Gien had to have done something to him.
Steven: There's gotta be something we can do to help.
As they watched Alexandrite struggling against Bomber, Steven suddenly heard a faint voice that sounded like Bomber.
Bomber: Help...
Steven: Huh.
Steven looked at the fight. He thought he heard something.
Bomber: Stop...please...
Steven: Did you guys hear that?
Connie: Hear what?
Peridot: The only thing I hear is just loud fighting.
Steven heard his voice again.
Bomber: Help me...please...
Steven: That. Don't you hear Bomber pleading for help?
Bismuth: Uhhh Bomber or Alexandrite? Because its her who needs help.
Steven: No I hear him.
Bomber: Stop it...
Steven: There it is again!
Lapis: How come only you can and not us?
Steven: I don't know unless...wait, I think this is all coming from his mind.
Peridot: His mind?
Steven: I need to take a nap!
Bismuth: Uh Steven, I don't think this is a good time.
Steven: No I mean I need to fall asleep if I want to find out what's wrong with him.
Bismuth: Oh okay it's the freaky deaky, psycic stuff I don't get.
Steven: Okay, uh does anyone have a pillow?
Connie: Get on my lap.
Connie sits down as Steven lies his head on her lap. But there's too much noise going on with the fight with Alexandrite and Bomber.
Steven: Urgh! I can't sleep.
Peridot: Don't worry Steven, I'll just turn of some lofi and...ugh. Of course I didn't bring the tablet.
Connie: I got my phone.
Connie put some music and placed the headphones in Steven's ears. It worked and Steven fell fast asleep. He looked around the area and it was a dark void area. He saw Connie still on the same spot, but she looked transparent.
Steven: Wait what's going on here? AH!
Steven looked down and saw his body.
Steven: Wait am I dead? Am I ghost?
He looked around the area. Everyone he knew was there on top of their own body.
Steven: Whoa, I never seen this before. Connie are you seeing this?
Connie didn't answer him, as if he wasn't there.
Steven: Hey Connie.
Steven tried touching Connie and went right through her.
Connie: Steven?
Steven tried holding her hand, realizing he had to touch the person in order to speak to them.
Steven: Connie can you hear me?
Connie: Steven is that you? Where are you?
Steven: I'm not sure, but I think it's a classic psychic ghost type thing.
Connie: Of course.
Peridot: Hey uh who are you talking to?
Steven goes to Peridot.
Steven: Peridot can you hear me?
Peridot: Steven. I can hear you, but I can't see you. Are you invisible?
Steven: No, I'm sort of a ghost, it's complicated.
Lapis: Wait you can hear Steven, I can't?
Steven goes to Lapis.
Steven: I'm right here Lapis.
Lapis: Steven where are you? You're not dead are you?
Steven: I'm fine it's just a new power I just learned.
Bismuth: Okay seriously who are you guys talking to? Steven's right there sleeping.
Steven goes to Bismuth next.
Steven: Bismuth can you hear me?
Bismuth: AAAHH! Something's got me!
Steven: That was me sorry.
Bismuth: ( gasps) Who's that?
Steven: Who's that? Who do you think it's me?
Bismuth: Are...are you my conscience?
Steven: ( groans) You know what yes, I'm your conscience, we haven't spoken in a while. How are you?
Bismuth: Hm, can't complain.
Steven: Bismuth it's me, Steven!
Bismuth: Steven? Wait you're my conscience?
Steven: No I'm not your conscience I'm communicating with you through your mind.
Bismuth: So you are my conscience.
Steven: No I...you know what I don't have time for this.
Bismuth: So what's the plan young leader?
Steven: I have to see what's happening to Bomber. If I can figure it out, we might win this. Just do me a favor and protect my body.
Bismuth: You got it, you go get him.
Steven flew to where Alexandrite and Bomber was. He saw Alexandrite on her knees looking tired.
Alexandrite: He just keeps getting back up. We can't beat this. No We have to keep going.
Steven jumped through her to give a quick message.
Steven: Just hang on a little longer Alexandrite. Don't die on me!
Alexandrite: Steven? That's right I have to keep going.
Steven finally got to Bomber. The whole scene reminded him when he was communicating with Lapis during her time as Malachite. He was on the top of his head, arms chained up, looking tired and weak.
Bomber: Why... why can't you just let me die?
He is suddenly electricuted as he yells.
Bomber: ARRGH! Damn you Viggo! If I wasn't under control I'd...
He is electricuted again as he yells and falls to his knees breathing heavily. Steven approached Bomber and placed his hand on his shoulder.
Steven: Bomber, is that you?
Bomber looked up all surprised.
Bomber: Who said that? I demand you show yourself!
Steven: You know who I am.
Bomber: I do...wait the boy? Where are you!? I can hear you, but I can't see you.
Steven: Don't try looking, you can't get me.
Bomber: What do you want?
Steven: I heard you screaming and calling for help.
Bomber: I don't need your help.
Bomber is electricuted again as he yells.
Steven: I think you do. Just what happened to you.
Bomber: After you retreated, Gien reprogrammed me and made me his puppet. That one you see fighting is just the puppet. I'm here now, just watching and being forced to give my energy to fight. Now that you're hear you can help.
Steven: Help?
Bomber: See that link between me and Viggo?
Steven looked behind him and saw a neon cable attached to Bomber's head and to Viggo.
Bomber: Use that spiked shield of yours and cut it.
Steven formed his spiked shield about to throw at it, but then hesitated.
Bomber: What are you waiting for? Do it!
Steven: I don't trust you on this.
Bomber: What?
Steven: I don't trust you. You're one of the most unpredictable poeple I've ever met. You're worst than Jasper. You've terroized us mulitple times.
Bomber: I was a slave to Homeworld and to Gien.
Steven: You just kidnapped me just to win back Viggo's trust.
Bomber: I was hoping to join back as a member. But that has failed. I should never have tried to overthrow Gien and become the new leader. I went from the top to the bottom. I never realized what oppression was like on others, I guess this is what it is. I now know I have no place in this universe. All I ask now is to just my freedom. I don't plan on going back. I'll leave this planet and never come back.
Steven looked at him. He was a horrible person, but in a way he felt pitty for him. No one deserved this kind of treatment. He wasn't sure to trust him, but he doesn't have much of a choice. Bomber is electricuted again.
Bomber: AAAAAH! I swear it!
Steven looked at him and turned at the neon cable. He tossed his spiked shield at it. The moment it hit it, a white flash of light formed and engulfed the whole area.
Steven woke up with everyone still there.
Connie: Steven did you do it?
Steven: I think so.
Lapis: Guys look!
Alexandrite and and Bomber were in a struggle when suddenly he pushed her away. His body was shaking as a blue aura was forming around him. His visor eyes were flickering red and black. Viggo tried pressing the button again, but it wasn't working.
Huntress: What's happening?
Viggo: It's not working. Something has interferred with the mind control device.
They watched as Bomber was slowly shrinking back to normal size. He tried to get back up, but was so weak and tired. Alexandrite looked down at him. He panicked and tried to run away. She unfused and Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl were back.
Amethyst: Yo, what just happened?
Garnet: Steven happened.
Pearl: Is that it?
Garnet: Not yet, let's find him. He's not getting away this time.
They searched him through the ruined city. Bomber was in the middle of a street.
Bomber: Must...get away... find a way off this rock. They will never have me. Neither one of them will have Bomber the Great.
Bomber gasped as he stopped on his tracks. He saw a figure coming through the smoke. It was Huntress.
Bomber: Hu-Huntress?
Huntress: So it looks like you're usefulness has end.
Bomber: Wait, spare me. I'll let you have Gien, just leave me be.
Huntress: I don't think so.
Huntress took out her rifle and aimed at Bomber, he tried blocking with his sword arm and hook, but the blast broke them off with the sword sticking out of the ground. Huntress charged at him, as she did she picked up his sword and stabs him stomach. Bomber grunted as he coughed up black blood. The Crystal gems arrived as they just saw what happened.
Huntress: You're days as general have ended Bomber. This is somehting I've wanted to do for a long time. Do you have any last words?
A small grin formed on Bomber's face as he let out a chuckle.
Bomber: Just tell Gien... I'll be seeing him in Hell...
Angered by this, Huntress raised up her steel arm and slashed down at Bomber vertically, leaving a huge cut in his body.
Huntress: Goodbye, Bomber.
Huntress turned and walked away as Bomber body was spazzing out, finally he fell onto his back and explodes ending the self righteous general for good. The gems couldn't believe what had happened.
Amethyst: Well, that's the end for Bomber the Lame.
Garnet: Let's head back.
They regrouped with Steven and the others and told them what happened.
Steven: What? Are you serious? Huntress killed Bomber.
Pearl: We saw it. All of it.
Peridot: Well I'm not surprised, he had it coming after everything he did.
Bismuth: Well, good we never have to deal with that uppercrust again.
Garnet: That we can garantee, but it's not over yet. We still have Gien, Viggo and Huntress. But still we couldn't have won this without you Steven.
Garnet placed her hand on his head as he smiled at her. They all head back to rest and prep for the next attack.
Meanwhile at the Kindergarden.
Gara Soldier guards were guarding the entrance to the base. Suddenly they are attacked one by one by a mysteriuos figure, it was Revenger.
Revenger: This time I will succeed.
He entered inside and went through an air vent as he crawled his way to where Gien was.
Gien was in his lab, incubating the cacoon. It was bigger now as it began to flash. He was on the computer monitor speaking to Yellow Diamond.
Yellow Diamond: I'm surprised you're alive Gien. I was told by Bomber you were destroyed by your own creation.
Gien: He has said many things in order to get what he wants.
Yellow Diamond: Right, still I've gotten reports that you still haven't accomplished your mission. We will be departing to do this.
Gien: NO! I mean there is no need for you my Diamond. Everything is under control.
Yellow Diamond: You've said that after your first failure.
Gien: But my Diamond, I have a new plan. This is something unheard of. I guarntee this will work. I just need more time.
Yellow Diamond thouht about it for a moment and answered.
Yellow Diamond: Very well, you can commince your plan. But Gien...this is your last chance.
Yellow Diamond ends the transmission as Viggo and Huntress entered the room.
Gien: How did the mission go?
Viggo: Well I don't know to call it a success. Bomber lost.
Gien: That's fine, the plan was to never have him win. Where is he now?
Huntress: Dead. I killed him.
Gien: ( chuckles) That fool. I warned him multiple times, but he never learned. OH!
The cacoon flashed again and began to shake.
Viggo: My lord, what is happening?
Gien: What do you think? It's finally time for him to hatch.
As they watched, Revenger made it to the lab. He was still in the air vent as he prepared to attack.
Revenger: There you are. I got you right where I...what?
Revenger noticed the cacoon.
Revenger: What is that?
The cacoon flashed again and shook. Semimaru was finally about to emerge.
Gien: It's finally happening! Semimaru...Semimaru is being born! Come forth, the devil of destruction!
The cacoon began to hatch, a black hand with red claws emerged from it, soon the whole thing opened up. We only saw it's shadow on the wall, it's upstraight and muscular body with wings and horns on his head. Gien looked excited while Viggo and Huntress looked horrified by it's appearence as it let out a belowing roar. Revenger saw it all, even he was disturbed by it.
Revenger: My god...

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. I was meant to upload this a couple days ago, but then I faced a major power outage and we had no power for almost two days but everything is okay now. If you were expecting this to be a flashback episode of how Gien survived, that's what this was meant to be until I realized that, it was a completely different story. The idea was that it would revolve around Gien being transported into a different dimenision as he meets the world's inhabitants and finding a way back to his dimension. But the problem was that, I had other characters developed and putting them here along with the concept of dimesions would not have fit the theme. Sorry if this was a cop out, but I'm not abandoning it, instead what I plan on doing is making a spin off or a midquel to this story. But anyway, I do hope you enjoyed this and Bomber's time here.
