Chapter 75: The War is Over. The Gara Droids have Won?!
Viggo: Shall we?
Semimaru nodded as they warped. He was hoping to warp to their base, but instead it was the Kindergarden.
Viggo: What? No not here, the base. The Crystal Gem base is where we're supposed to go.
Semimaru growls and warps again, now they were in front of the old gem ships where Centipeedle resides.
Viggo: No! This isn't it either. Do you not know where it is?
Semimaru growls in response.
Viggo: ( groans) Of course, just keep trying until we get there.
The next day.
Connie was at her house in her room. She was sitting on her bed, still upset over yesterday. Steven didn't want to be with her anymore. The way he told her to stop coming and pushing her away with his powers. Even if he hadn't done that, the way he told her truly hurt her. She thought they had something together, but no there wasn't. But did she go too far when she slapped him in the face? Her phone began to ring. If it was Steven she was going to ignore him. Probably wants to apologize, well too late it's done. But she checks and see's that it's actually Pearl and answers.
Connie: Hello?
Pearl: Hello Connie.
Connie: Pearl...hey.
Pearl: You don't mind if I talk to you for a bit do you?
Connie: Oh no it's fine, of course I can talk to you...unlike a certain someone.
Pearl: That's why I'm calling. Connie, I want you to come over, for one thing I want to help you and Steven make things right with each other.
Connie: ( sighs) I can't do that. Do you even know what he did?
Pearl: We only listened after we heard him yell. Did he hurt you?
Connie: Well his powers bursted and hurt my arm but nothing is broken. But still, what he did was uncalled for even if he didn't do that.
Pearl: He didn't mean it did he? It's not like him to hurt people.
Connie: Well... he did try to apologize, but I rejected it. I mean he was trying to get me to stop coming and if he wants that so badly he'll get it.
Pearl: Connie... he regretted this soon after. He told us that he did this to protect you. He didn't want you to go because he was scared of losing you.
Connie: Is... is that it? But I'm no dansel in distress, I'm a fighter like you guys.
Pearl: Yes I know, you have no idea how much you mean to him or to us and to me. You're the best apprentice I ever had.
Connie: I'm your only apprentice.
Pearl: ( chuckles) I know.
Connie thought about it for a moment. If that's what his true intentions were, why didn't he come clean to her. He was doing that same move he did on her when she went to go see him after Jasper and Peridot first invaded. He knows she's someone he can trust. Maybe she should go back to talk to him.
Pearl: Connie are you still there?
Connie: Oh uh yeah I am. I'll be there as soon as I can.
Pearl: Good, we really need your help right now.
Connie: Did something else happen?
Pearl: We'll explain when you get here.
Connie: Okay, see you soon.
Connie hangs up as the scene cuts to Pearl who was calling her outside of the house to have a private call. She wanted to tell her about Semimaru and that her gem is gone, but maybe thought it would be better for her to here it from them. She goes back inside where everyone else including Peridot, Lapis, Volleyball, Acha and Kocha were there as well.
Steven: I'm still trying to call Revenger and he still isn't answering.
Amethyst: Dude if he's still mad at us for and I quote " slacking off" I don't think he'd want to talk to us for a while.
Lapis looked down frowning as Peridot held her hand.
Garnet: We have to move on without him? What do you know about him Peridot?
Peridot: Sorry, but this Semimaru doesn't ring a bell.
Bismuth: Are you serious? You don't have an elite that steals people's powers or gems.
Pearl: But he didn't look mechanical. Has Gien ever made biological monsters?
Peridot: It was once attempted but then pulled the plug over 500 years ago. With him recently coming back and even before that, he doesn't have the time to make any new warriors.
Bismuth: So how do you explain this?
Peridot: ( shrugs) I don' t know?
Kocha: How are you two even here still? I've seen the Diamonds remove gem stones from gems bodies and they poof.
Acha: It is not pretty to look at I'll tell you that.
Volleyball: He sounds terrifying, how could such a creature exist?
Amethyst: Okay look who cares of where he came from, what matters is how we beat him without hurting Bismuth or Pearl.
Peridot: Well, maybe if we caught him and sedated him I could surgically remove the gems from him and they should automatically merge back with thier original owner.
Acha: Would that work?
Peridot: I guess, I don't know I never heard of something like this before.
Steven: You sound so unsure.
Peridot: Because I'm not sure. We thought Gien was dead. Next thing he comes back a month later, all high tech and all of the sudden he has a monster with him.
Lapis: Calm down. I can still tell you're still upset over your destroyed lab.
Peridot: I was so far on finding a cure, but then that clod Huntress had to ruin it all.
Garnet: Peridot you must breath. It means a lot to us that you're trying so hard to help the corrupted gems. Just help us with this now and we will help you in return.
Peridot takes a deep breath.
Peridot: Right, right okay sorry.
Suddenly the warp pad began to activate. Everyone looked momentarily confused and then shocked to see Semimaru and Viggo.
Viggo: Salutations.
Steven: Viggo?!
Viggo: Semimaru, get the rest of them.
Semimaru walked up to them about to attack.
Acha: Wait, that's the monster you were talking about? That stole your gems.
Bismuth: Yup, Pearl and I are defensless.
Garnet: The two of you get back. Everyone else, hold him down but don't hurt him.
Viggo: Gara Soldiers!
Ten Gara Soldiers teleported in the room. They targeted Peridot and Lapis as they tried defending Volleyball, Acha and Kocha. Pearl and Bismuth didn't want to stay aside. Bismuth resorted to hand to hand combat with out shapeshifting and Pearl stole one of their spears and used that instead.
Garnet, Steven and Amethyst tried to fight Semimaru, he formed Pearl's spear to fight back. Amethyst using her whip tried to restrain him, but he was quick like Pearl was and had her fighting style and thus knocked Amethyst down. He grabbed her and began to absorb her.
Steven: Amethyst!
Semimaru now had Amethyst's gem and he formed her whip.
Amethyst: Dude not cool.
Semimaru pushed Amethyst down and targed Garnet. Although Garnet tried to fight back without hurting the others, she didn't last long. Semimaru wrapped her in his whip and pulled her to him. He grabbed Garnet and began to absorb her.
Steven: No, Garnet!
Semimarue lets go of Garnet. She was still intact, not unfused, but Ruby and Sapphire's gems were gone on her hands. Now they appeared on Semimaru's hands forming her gauntlets. He turned his attention to Steven.
Garnet: Steven! Run!
Steven just formed his shield as Semimaru began pouding on it to get to him. His horns glowed and even shot his laser to cut through, but it wouldn't work. He wasn't backing down so he began to throw furniture at the shield in hopes of breaking it. At one point he ripped out the stove, which caused a gas leak. Semimaru smelt it and got the idea, his horns began to glow aiming at the gas pipe.
Viggo: What are you doing? Stop you fool, you'll destroy us all!
Steven: Wait no!
But Semimaru does so and shoots the gas...causing the whole house to explode.
Scene cuts to Greg washing a car while listening to music until he heard a vague explosion. He turns around and see's smoke coming from the temple.
Greg: What the...
Greg gets into his van and drives over there.
Back at the house ( or what used to be).
The whole house was in bottom portion was all thats left as the rest of it was gone or on fire. Everyone was buried under the wood. Viggo and Semimaru emerged from it, okay.
Viggo: You idiot... I said to attack them not blow us up!
Semimaru growls at him.
Viggo: Atleast we're fine, but what about the others?
No one else emerged for a moment, but then Lapis finally did.
Lapis: Steven, Peridot! Where are you?
Peridot: Uhhh...
Lapis heard Peridot's monans and dug through the wood looking for her which she did.
Peridot: I think I bruised myself.
Lapis: You'll live, but where's Steven or the others?
Just then some figures were rising from the ground. But they were Gara Soldiers, six of them still alive dragging out the uncounsious gems along with Acha and Kocha out.
Peridot: They're taking the others away.
Then they heard a scream from Volleyball. They saw Semimaru approaching Volleyball to get her gem. She was trying to get out, but couldn't. Lapis formed a water hand from the ground to attack Semimaru as Peridot got her out.
Peridot: I got you.
Volleyball: Thanks. But where's Steven?
They heard a faint moaning, coming from underneath a pile of lumber and It sounded like Steven. They looked and saw Cat Steven who appeared to be unharmed thanks to Steven saving her and looking at the spot where Steven was buried.
Lapis: You guys dig him out, I'll hold him off.
Lapis formed more water hands to catch Semimaru. His horns began to glow as the laser shot out, cutting the water hands clean in half. Lapis continued forming more, but he just cut them all with his laser horns. She flew up trying to out run him, but of course he flew as well. He kept forming spears and threw them at her which she doged. Then he formed his guantlets and rocket launched at her. The explosion from them caused her to lose control and Semimaru grabs onto her as the two of them fell. Once they landed, Lapis tried to feel her back, but her gem was gone.
Lapis: No...
Semimaru had it and immediatly formed a water hand, grabbing her. He brought her close to her and tried crushing her. Peridot saw this and she couldn't let him hurt her. She ran to help her until she is cut off by Viggo.
Viggo: Going some where Peridot?
Peridot: Out of my way Viggo.
Viggo: Oh please...
Viggo tried to whip her with his electric whip. She got out of the way and pushed him away with her powers. But when she looked back at Lapis, she was on the ground uncounsiouss, but Semimaru was gone. She looked around for him until he appeared behind her and hits her on the back on her neck, knocking her out. Semimaru places his hand on her and absorbs her gem now.
Viggo: Excellent Semimaru. Let's take these two back to base.
Viggo picks up Peridot as Semimaru takes Lapis. The two of them are approached by two Gara Soldiers.
Viggo: You two remain here and find the boy. Meet us back at base.
Viggo and Semimaru gets back onto the warp pad which was still intact and working to get back to the Kindergarden as the two soldiers remain to find Steven. The soon saw Volleyball digging Steven out and approached them. She gasped seeing them and took out a broken piece of wood to defend herself.
Volleyball: Stay back!
Volleyball tried to hit them with the lumber, but the doged and opened up their faces and fired lasers from their eyes, blasting the wood to pieces. They were cornered about to be killed, when suddenly a pink portal opened next to them and Lion and Connie. Lion roared an energy wave at them, paralyzing them. Connie looked at the destroyed house and gasped. She came too late, what happened here?
Volleyball: Thanks for the save.
Connie: Sure, but what happened here. Where's Steven?
Volleyball: He's under here. Help me get him out.
Connie went to help Volleyball as the two got Steven out of the wood. He was uncouncious as blood was dripping from his head. Volleyball got a first aid kit from her gem and she and Connie bandaged his head.
Connie: Steven! Steven are you okay? Please wake up!
Steven was regaining concious, he heard Connie's voice, he thought he wouldn't hear the sound of her voice again. He opened his eyes and saw her begging him to be alright.
Steven: Co-Connie?
Connie: Oh Steven!
Connie hugged him relieved he was okay.
Steven: You...you came back.
Connie: Of course I came back. I couldn't stay mad at you forever.
Steven hugged Connie again, holding her tight.
Steven: Connie, I'm sorry.
Connie stroked his hair trying to clam him down, when Greg finally shows up.
Greg: Steven! Oh my god! What happened here!?
Steven: The Gara Droids did this. Gien's new monster Semimaru attacked us. He destroyed the house and took everyone.
Connie: They were overpowered by one monster.
Volleyball: He absorbed their powers. The others lost their powers and they took them away.
Connie: I should have been here sooner.
Steven: No, they would have killed you. I don't want that to become a reality.
Connie: What?
Steven: That's why I tried to get you to stop coming with us. Connie, I'm so sorry that I hurt you, I was just trying to protect you.
Connie: You tried that once remember. Why were you doing it again?
Steven: Because ever since Gien came back, I couldn't sleep and just kept thinking about him killing you. If anything ever happened to you, I would never forgive myself. I would blame myself for failing to protect you. But instead I felt worse when I hurt you.
Connie: Steven...
Connie placed her hand on his cheek.
Connie: You could have just told me. You know me better than that. You know I'm not a weakling, I'm a fighter like you. I wanted to train for a reason you know. To be by your side and back you up. I want to be a part of your universe.
Steven: I know, I just...
Connie: I get it, it's okay.
Steven: Do you still hate me?
Connie: Of course not. I can never hate you. I'm sorry for slapping you. That was uncalled for of me.
Steven: I kinda deserved it. Jam buds.
Connie: Jam buds.
Steven and Connie hugged, but the two Gara Soldiers got back up and approached them armed. Steven saw the sword Bismuth made for Connie next to him under the wood and gave it to her.
Steven: Connie, this is your new sword Bismuth made. Here.
Steven gives her the sword as she draws it out. It was a gladius sword featuring a golden pommel, a purple hilt, a gold, upside down star emblem at the blade's base, an aqua chappe, and a crystalline pink blade. Unlike Pink's sword, Connie's new sword was smaller to fit her size. She took on the two soldiers. They blocked each of her attacks and tried to attack back, but the moment the let their guard down, she slashed at them both, the sword cutting right through their bodies in half.
Connie: Wow, it's perfect. I want to thank Bismuth, but...
Steven: You will thank her, because we're getting them out.
Greg: Wait just the two of you?
Steven: Their's no one else dad.
Greg: Yeah but...
Connie: I'll be with him Greg, I promise.
Greg: Ah geez. Well what can I do about it anyway? The Just don't get killed okay Stu ball.
Steven: Sure dad.
Steven turned to Connie as they held hands and fused into Stevonnie.
Stevonnie: To the Kindergarden, lets go.
Stevonnie ran to the warp pad and warped to the Kindergarden leaving Greg, Volleyball, Lion and Cat Steven behind.
Volleyball: They'll be fine. I know they're strong.
Greg: I know they are. Just hope they return.
Meanwhile at the Kindergarden.
Huntress was entering the lab Gien was in. He was looking down at something. She thought he was stressted over what's been happening with him so she decided to go relieve him. She approached him from behind and hugged him.
Huntress: Whatcha doing?
Gien: Nothing.
Huntress: You okay dar...
Huntress noticed something on Gien's wrist. It was some kind of bracelet. On it was a silver pendant that had the name Erza. Huntress grabbed his wrist too take a closer look.
Gien: Huntress what are you...
Huntress: Where did you get this?
Gien: It was a gift.
Huntress: From this Erza? Is she another woman?
Gien: It was from the girl who found me.
Huntress: You said she was a child.
Gien: She is...
Huntress: Is she really? Or did you say that to keep it a secret from me?!
Gien: Secret?
Huntress: Have you been seing another woman when you were gone?
Gien: What? No of course not.
Huntress: Did...did you have some kind of relationship with her?
Gien: No! I liked her as much as I did Pink Diamond, but not like you my dear.
Huntress: Do you really?
Gien pulled Huntress into a kiss. Huntress calmed down and kissed him back. She doesn't recall a time he kissed her. Noramlly she does it first.
Huntress: I'm sorry I didn't mean to snap at you. I just haven't seen you in so long and I have no idea what you've been through.
Gien: You know me better than that. There is no other woman I would want to be with than you Huntress.
Huntress smiled and nuzzled on Gien's chest, but they let go once Viggo enters.
Gien: My lord, we have the Crystal Gems.
Gien: Really? All of them?
Viggo: Yes, although Steven has not yet been brought in.
Gien: He'll come on his own. I know he will.
Huntress: You think so?
Gien: He'll do anything to save them. Once he is here, Semimaru will deal with him. But right now, let's free Revenger. I think he is due for a fight with Semimaru and bring our guests too.
Later.
Revenger was set free from his cell. He went through a door and was in a large room like arena with a glass dome.
Revenger: What...what is this?
Gien: This is the arena Revenger.
Revenger looked up and saw Gien with Viggo and Huntress on the top taking a seat.
Revenger: Gien!
Revenger fired away at him, but the laser projectiles just bounced off the dome he was behind.
Gien: Nah-ah-ah! You can't break the rules.
Revenger: Alright. What's this all about?
Gien: This is the fight I was saving you for. It is you against the great Semimaru!
The door across the arena opened and Semimaru emerged roaring at him.
Revenger: You again.
Gien: And here are our special guests.
Gien motioned to the left and Revenger looked and saw the Crystal Gems and Acha and Kocha chained and hung upside down. They looked so weak without their gems.
Garnet: Revenger...help...
Revenger: My friends! Let them go!
Gien: Maybe we will after you fight. Semimaru!
Semimaru looked up at Gien.
Gien: Give him everything you got! Tear him apart.
Semimaru nodded and roared at Revenger as he formed his gauntlets and spear.
Revenger: Wait that's...
Semimaru lunged at Revenger. Revenger blocked his attacks, but when he slashed them, all the gems felt the pain. He didn't notice it and hit him again. They yelled in pain from that.
Gien: Peridot...
Peridot turned to him. Gien grabbed her head and forced her to look at the fight.
Gien: Let's watch together just like we used to.
Peridot: I would enjoy it back then when I didn't know the victims you forced to fight against your elites were innocent lives.
Gien: When you put it that way you take the fun out of it.
Semimaruformed Amethyst's whip and wrapped it around Revenger pulling him towards him. As he did, he formed a gauntlet in his other hand and puched Revenger in the face. Revenger was getting back up as Semimaru's horns began to glow and fired at Revenger. He dodged the attack and then Semimaru formed water from Lapis's gem and made ice stalactites and fired at Revenger. He fired at the stalactites, breaking them and one of the laser projectlies hits Semimaru, but this also hurts the gems as they yell in pain.
Revenger finally notices this and was confused. When he lost his guard, Semimaru formed the spear and guantlet into Sardonyx's hammer. He tried smashing Revenger, but he jumped away and tripped back. Semimaru tried to smash him on the ground. Revenger fired at the hammer breaking it into pieces, he quickly got up and slashed Semimaru which hurt the gems again, Revenger see's this.
Revenger: What's going on here?
Gien: Hahahahaha! Every hit you inflict on Semimaru also hurts the gems. They're linked to his life. If you kill him, they die too.
Revenger: What?!
Revenger looked back at Semimaru.
Revenger: ( in his mind) What do I do? I can't kill him without killing them.
Revenger couldn't fight anymore. He didn't want to kill his friends. He puts away his weapons appearently giving up.
Garnet: Revenger. What are you doing?
Pearl: You can't stop now!
Revenger: I will not destroy him if it means killing all of you.
Semimaru with his spear attacks Revenger. Revenger tries dodging, but he eventually gets hit. Semimaru picks up Revenger and slams his head to the wall multiple times.
Amethyst: Dude you have to fight!
Bismuth: You can't let that uppercrust get to you.
Semimaru stops what he's doing. With his metal powers from Peridot, he lifts Revenger up in the air and hits him up on the ceiling dome and back on the ground.
Lapis: Forget about us, just fight back!
Peridot: Yeah beat that clod!
Revenger: I...I refuse... to be responsible for your deaths.
Semimaru punches him in the face, knocking him down. Revenger was down but he gave up. Semimaru formed Opal's bow and arrow and aimed it at him.
Gien: That's not like you to give up a fight Revenger. I was hoping more from you. You truly have grown soft. But atleast you will be dealt with now. As for the rest of you, I will take great pleasure when Semimaru destroys this world and you suffering from his pain.
Gien motioned to Peridot, Acha and Kocha.
Gien: And you three will be executed for your crimes once this is over.
Suddenly he was grabbed by the neck from someone from behind and felt the tip of a sharp object on his back.
Stevonnie: Don't move.
It was Stevonnie.
Viggo and Huntress got up about to attack. Gien put up his hand to tell them to stop.
Garnet: Stevonnie...you came.
Gien: I knew you'd come boy.
Stevonnie: I am giving you three seconds to call of the fight and to get that thing to give my friends gems back.
Gien: Hmmm being dead serious are you? I rarely see that. Semimaru!
Semimaru looks up at Gien.
Gien: Stand down.
Semimaru puts away the bow and arrow and stops.
Stevonnie: Now get him to give back the gems.
Gien: I cannot do that. I don't know how.
Stevonnie: Don't play dumb.
Gien: I mean it. I never made Semimaru. He's just a monster I discovered during my absense.
Stevonnie: From where.
Gien: A different world, a different time lets just say.
Stevonnie: So you don't know how to get him to return his powers.
Gien: No and that is the absolute truth. But now that I have you...
Gien pressed a button on his throne which opened a trap door under Stevonnie, it was a slide that lead her to the arena. Once she was down, Semimaru immediatly attacked her. She defended herself and kept Semimaru away. Revenger got back up and pushed him away.
Stevonnie: Revenger.
Revenger: That thing...it has your friends linked to his life.
Stevonnie: I already know that. But Gien doesn't know how to get him to stop. I was hoping to interogate him to get him to stop.
Revenger: So what's the back up plan?
Stevonnie: Uh...
Revenger: You don't have a back up plan!?
Stevonnie: Hey I didn't have much time for this you know.
Just as they were talking, Gien, Viggo and Huntress entered inside the arena.
Gien: Isn't it great to have the whole family here? Now do you mind unfusing so I can speak with Steven himself?
Stevonnie: I am partly him so you can talk to me.
Gien: No I need to see him, Semimaru...
Semimaru appears behind her and his laser horns pierce through her body causing her to unfuse and Steven and Connie are back.
Revenger: Steven! Connie!
Revenger was going to help them until his is shot down by the lightning in Viggo's hand.
Viggo: Wait your turn.
Steven and Connie had their weapons ready to defend themselves.
Connie: Stay back.
Gien: Huntress.
Huntress attacked Connie, though she tried defending herself, Huntress knocked the sword off her hand and grabbed onto her.
Steven: Revenger, Connie. Let them go Gien. I'm the one you want aren't I?
Gien: Yes of course. After all the hell you put me through I finally have you. Everytime you thought you got rid of me, I came back. You want to know why, because my devotion to Pink Diamond to bring her back is what fired me up. I'm not that easy to kill.
Steven: If you were to bring her back, she would not approve of what you've been doing. We're defending everything she fought for.
Gien: She was manipulated by her own kind.
Steven: Listen to yourself, your in denial. You refuse to accept the truth. You refuse to accept that she didn't want to colonize the Earth anymore, to rebel Homeworld even if it meant leaving you. And when you finally do learn what she wanted, you refuse to believe it.
Gien: Is it me or is it you who is in denial?
Steven: What?
Gien: You think you are a new being. Your own gem. But that gem of yours belonged to someone else. You're just a vessel for that gem.
Steven: N-No... I'm not... I'm...
Gien: As I remember Pink gave up her physical form to make you. You have her gem and powers. Jasper and other Homeworld gems think you're her in a different form. Wouldn't that just mean you are her but somehow your memories are deleted?
Steven: No...that's not it...
Connie: Don't listen to him Steven! He's just trying to mess with you!
Steven: No you're wrong, everyone knows I am my own person. Everyone was sad when she left, but they had to accept it and accept me. I have her gem and powers but that's it. I'm not her or just a shell for her to hid in.
Gien: ( silent chuckles) We shall see. Semimaru, bring me his gem.
Steven gasped as Semimaru approached him. Gien grabbed him so he wouldn't escape as all his friend watched in horror.
Connie: Steven!
Revenger: Gien! Let him go now!
Pearl: What no! Steven!
Garnet: Stop! You don't know what you're doing!
Amethyst: Get your filthy hands off my number one fan you slag head!
Bismuth: Leave him alone you uppercrust scrap heap or else!
Lapis: Leave him out of this. Do whatever you want with me but not him!
Kocha: No! Let go of him!
Acha: He's just a lad!
Peridot: Stop it! He's just a kid, I'm the traitor, deal with me!
Semimaru lifted up his shirt as Steven looked scared. He gazed onto his gem. Semimaru places his hand on Steven's stomach and began to absorb his gem.
Gien: Pink Diamond... at long last we shall be together again.
Connie: NOOOO!
Semimaru stops and presents to everyone in his hand...Steven's gem.
