Another chapter takes off as we go into a time skip, I feel proud that my overall writing has improved since the prototype story, and I get more excited writing this one then I ever had the last one, and I do hope you readers can enjoy it just as much as I do so I am much more invigorated for this, and if you guys are feeling it see if you can create some illustrations for this, would love to see them. Now for the record the rail gun gang will appear but they will only pop up from time to time or when something involves them, slowly they will be brought in as compared to the prototype story, so no need to fret.

Chapter 3: Missing You
Academy City, the city of science was a walled off self sustaining sovereign city state located in the Tokyo Metropolitan Employment area, the most advanced city in the world with technology 20 years ahead of the rest of the world, containing all manner of schools from kindergarten to universities while also holding various laboratories and business areas divided into 23 consecutive districts.
The crown jewel of the city was the power curriculum program which granted youths psychic abilities becoming what was known as an Esper.
Espers would be categorized by levels from 0 to 5, level 5 being the strongest and there were only seven of them.
Within this utopia of science and supernatural powers lived a peculiar teenage boy who can be found anywhere, the only significant thing about him was his spiky black hair, his name was Touma Kamijou.
Touma was considered the weakest level 0 due to the fact he didn't have any power, much less an AIM diffusion field which distorts reality around the individual charging what was called a personnel reality, a regular level 0 still emitted these albeit very weak, but not Touma, and because of this the city gave him a bare minimum stipend which just barely let him get the essentials he needed.
Touma was walking his way back from school, as he did so reached under the orange shirt that was worn under a white blazer and pulled out a golden fox necklace, the necklace that Tamamo gifted to him, a decade had passed since that disastrous day, he remembered his first meeting with Tamamo, an adorable girl with pink hair, golden eyes that gave an ethereal glow, a blue kimono, and most of all her more unique features, a fox tail and ears.
Not a day goes by where he didn't think about her, was she ok? Where is she? Those questions never stopped looping in his head especially after he was transferred to Academy City, sure his parents had him come here to escape superstition since it was a place of science and the supernatural was the norm as well as explainable, but that didn't stop his bad luck from kicking in as bad things still happened to him, other kids would notice and he would be bullied for it.
School became more difficult when he entered middle school and started taking the system scan as part of the grading as he always failed it, things of scientific nature and esper theory would fly over his head so he started lagging behind in his classes and would have to take extra ones, and it would follow into his first year of high school.
Touma was drawn out of his musings when he heard an explosion go off, a sign of trouble and by his very nature he had to jump in an help, forgetting to tuck his necklace back into his shirt.
Reaching the scene he could just make out what looked like the third strongest level 5 Mikoto Misaka fighting another individual, and caught up in the mess was a girl with a flower headband protecting a little girl, as a graviton explosion went off leaving them to brace for impact, however they were never hit as Touma blocked the attack with his right hand.
A little after the incident the graviton bomber was subdued and arrested by Anti Skill, a police force which comprised of a lot of teacher volunteers.
Misaka to stay back along with her friend Kazari Uiharu and another friend with tawny pigtails named Kuroko Shirai, the latter two were part of judgment which was a student volunteer neighborhood watch type of organization that patrol the city, to make statements, they were approached by their other friend Ruiko Saten who had something in her hand.
"Guys check this out, I found this really pretty necklace on the ground!" She said as she held up a peculiar golden necklace with a fox ornament on it.
"Who do you think it belongs to?" Uiharu asked.
"I don't know but it would be best to return it to whoever lost it." Misaka pointed out, though she did have a slight idea of who it's owner was, after all she did see a certain idiot jump into the fray and leave just as quick without getting the credit she ended up taking instead.
Touma POV:
Touma finally made it back to his dorm room satisfied that no one was hurt in the incident as he plopped onto his futon, his energy sapped, as he lay there his mind wandered back to Tamamo, the moment before she had to leave, despite accepting she still had tears flowing from her eyes, and her smile was pain stricken, that image bothered him very much, he didn't mean to make her so sad, he remembered promising that he would find her no matter what but he just didn't know how, but when ever he looked at his necklace he held onto hope, it also served as a reminder that she was real and not a figment of his imagination as a kid. He missed her.
He brought his hand up to his chest to place where he could feel the necklace and felt nothing, jolting up he began to feel around himself to see if he still had and then searched every inch of the floor he could get into to see if it dropped somewhere, panic began to rise in his chest.
He would look along the balcony floor outside, the elevator, nothing, when he got to the ground level it dawned on him that he may have lost it during the bomber situation, and he screamed at the top of his lungs for all to hear.
"ROTTEN LLLLUUUUUUCCCCKK!!!!!!"
As the wail of misfortune resounded in the city somewhere in the outside world in an unknown location was a cave, and inside that cave was a sleeping beautiful girl, she had pink hair tied by a purple ribbon, a blue shoulder less Kimono tied by a black sash which hugged her curvaceous figure, black thigh high leggings and wooden black sandals, but the most notable thing she had was a big fluffy fox tail and ears, it was none other than Tamamo no Mae.
After escaping from Touma's hometown to her reluctance she found a cave to hold up in, as time passed she had to learn to survive in her current living conditions, she would continue re strengthen her witchcraft when she got the chance as well, getting her own food, and bathing in a nearby stream, Tamamo never thought she would have to be so resourceful at all, but situations can force one to adapt. Eventually when she regained a good amount of her power she used her territory creation to set up a makeshift work shop, she managed to make things more bearable overtime.
As time went on she used the isolation to sort out the many memories she had from different ventures before her mind drifted back to a peculiar boy.
Touma Kamijou was a strange boy, but he was one that she enjoyed being around, all the times they spent together were ones she treasured dearly, someone who without a second thought or an ounce of fear took it upon himself to give this fox the light of day for nothing in return but simply wanting to, someone who for the bad that happened never stopped putting an infectious genuine smile on his face like nothing was wrong, he showed an anti-hero like her nothing but kindness from the bottom of his heart.
The day she had to leave him and the time after was hard, but whenever she looked at the dragon necklace it kept her from the edge of depression, and reminded her of the promise he made that he would find her, some days as the years went on she had doubts that it would never be fulfilled, but every time she felt her treasured item she still clung to hope, she missed Touma dearly, dare she say she was starting to feel a sense of deep affection for him, but she wouldn't sort it out till they were together once more.
At the present time Tamamo was jolted awake by a distant cry, opening her eyelids revealing her golden eyes beneath she just made out the sound and a familiar set of words that made her eyes go wide.
'Rotten luck,' there was only one person she knew that would utter such a phrase, a very unlucky person.
She got up and made her way out of the cave facing the direction of the sound, Tamamo never strayed to far from her makeshift home as to avoid any human contact, but she was willing to make the trek to see if she would find her answers, and she was on her way, hoping that what was on the other side was who she hoped it was.
Touma POV:
Touma ran around the streets of district 7 in a desperate attempt to find his necklace, he would ask random people if they had come across it and would always get the same answer, no.
He searched for hours until it was about to sunset, curfew would be called soon, he was tired and frustrated, until he finally collapsed on his knees clenching his hands into fists.
"I'm sorry...Tama." He whispered.
"Hey idiot!!" Yelled a familiar but unwanted voice.
Wonderful, just as his day couldn't be anymore frustrating now he had a bug zapper to deal with, and he was not in the best of moods.
"What do you want zapper, curfew will be coming so you should probably go home."
"My name is Mikoto Misaka!!" She yelled in annoyance and threw an electric blast at him which he blocked without looking behind him with his right hand.
He then got up and turned around sporting a very frustrated and annoyed look, Misaka was caught off gourd when he gripped her wrist with his right hand, not enough that it hurt her but just to render her powerless.
"Listen Zapper, I'm not in a good mood, so it would be courteous of you to not start shit with me right now, so I'm only going say this once. Go. Back. Home."
Misaka was speechless, she never saw this kind of aggressive nature from the guy that always tried to avoid her at every confrontation, it freaked her out a bit.
With his point made Touma let her go and started to walk away.
"Wait a sec!" Misaka called out again.
Touma was starting to get a headache, but after a heavy sigh he turned around to acknowledge the girl behind him.
"What is it this time?" He said exasperated.
Misaka then pulled out familiar golden necklace and showed it to Touma whose eyes went wide.
"One of my friends found this at the scene of the graviton bomber fight, I wanted to give to you if it was yours."
Touma gently took the necklace from her as stray tears began to fall from his eyes, Misaka looked on shocked, she never saw him cry before.
"Thank Misaka, I'm sorry for snapping at you earlier, it's not like me to do so."
Misaka looked away feeling embarrassed and cleared her throat.
"Maybe I could have went about approaching this a bit better you know, are...you ok? What makes that necklace so special?"
Before Touma could answer he was ambushed by a raging teleport who drop kicked him in the face.
"Kuroko what the hell?!" Misaka blurted out.
"I saw how that troglodyte grabbed your wrist, I'm not gonna let an ape like him taint my sissy!!"
Kuroko barred into Misaka's underdeveloped chest and received a high voltage shock for her troubles leaving her twitching on the ground.
"Ah sissy's love!!"
Misaka looked up to find that Touma had long left, he always had the knack for being there one moment and vanishing when your back was turned, he was just slippery like that.
Touma POV:
Touma was once more back in his dorm, and he was exhausted, at least he had his necklace again, his stomach began to have other ideas as it rumbled, so Touma worked up the nerve to fix himself a quick dinner before going to bed.
Tamamo POV:
After a long trip Tamamo found her self on top of a wall that surrounded a high tech looking city, could this be where Touma is? She then felt the air around her, not only was she feeling the abundant mana she felt something else as she got close to this place, as she focused in on this unknown source of power she saw multiple distortions in reality throughout the city, and that's when she saw it, that unmistakable void she first saw when she met Touma, it still disturbed her but it didn't deter her.
She then flashed into her spring casual mystic code which consisted of a white and pink hoodie with ears which was partially unzipped to reveal ample cleavage covered by a pink bra, thigh high black leggings with matching ribbon laced shoes and a black shirt skirt with red fringe edging, her hair was down passed her shoulders with nine purple ribbons adorning the back she shape shifted her fox features from view and decided to put her hood up over her head and tucked her hair back for good measure.
Once she was all set she made her way down to the streets below to follow the void, she was walking through the quiet streets as there was hardly anybody out, but her extra sensory perception allowed her to see various apparitions of people, ghosts perhaps, more questions popped into her head as she saw a lone girl standing in the middle of the street who took notice of her, they both stared at each other saying nothing as she noticed that the girl seemed to be glitching, it reminded her of the AI's in the Moon Cell, and the moment she blinked the girl was gone.
Tamamo shelved further questions and continued on her way till she found herself in front of a dorm complex and the void was up on the seventh floor. Which she proceeded to make her way up to.
Touma POV:
Touma was woken up by a knocking noise, who was disturbing him so late he had school tomorrow, if it was Tsuchimakado he was gonna sock the bastard.
Opening the door he was surprised to see a girl standing before him though the front of her hood covered her eyes, however his own eyes went down a good bit to see the girl's prominent cleavage and his face began to turn beat red.
"Um, can I help you miss?"
"I'm looking for someone, I heard he lived around here." The girl said.
Touma noted the girl had a very sweet voice, and he went on to ask her another question.
"Can you describe him?"
"He has cute spiky hair and is very unlucky." The girl said with a small smile.
That description dumbfounded Touma especially the mention of being very unlucky, it was too specific to him.
"Who exactly...are you?" He asked nervously.
The girl then reached her hand to her chest which made Touma look away a bit as his face went more red, only to look back quickly to see a familiar necklace and the girl dropped her hood revealing unmistakable golden eyes and pink hair, and to top it off a big fluffy fox tail and ears proofed from her making Touma drop his jaw, there was just no way.
"Tama...is that really you." He whispered.
"It's really me, it's so good to see you again Touma Kamijou, I missed you so much."
Touma only continued to stare in disbelief but light tears streamed down his face, same for Tamamo.
Touma slowly walked up to her and went to embrace her, she had her arms out to accept it, and upon contact an all to familiar glass shattering noise went off, and in a matter of moments Tamamo's mystic code was completely shredded leaving her bare as the day she was a newborn pup.
Touma slowly backed up as his face heated up even more to a boiling point, Tamamo finally registered what happened and looked down going red herself, Touma thought she would hit him out of embarrassment but instead she started to giggle before it turned into full blown laughter.
"Hahahahaha!! Touma you missed me that much? You haven't even taken me to dinner you sly dog easy on this fragile fox."
That did it, Touma was passed the boiling point and in a mere second he passed out via nosebleed.
"Mikon!! Touma are you ok?! Touma!! Come on wake up!!"
Yep a beautiful reunion indeed with an unexpected outcome, and it would only be the beginning of a long road ahead that they were unaware in a world where when science and magic collide a story is born.
AN: third chapter down folks, I'm on a roll, but I'm be methodical through it all, so I hope you enjoyed the chapter and I will see you in the next one.
