Mal P.O.V

About two o'clock Mal woke up panting. It was too hot her head hurt her throat hurt… What was going on? Mail tried to recall what she did before falling a sleeping. I was feeling like crap so I hid in the storage room and… SHIT Ben. Mal looked around. She was in Ben's room. She was thinking of only one thing.
"I have to get away fast." She hid because no one had to see her this weak but now Ben had seen her, Shit.
Then she spotted Ben on the sofa.
Opening the door would probably wake him up…
Then my best option is the window.
But as soon as she got up black spots appeared in her vision. "Just ignore it," Mal said to herself.

CLING!… Did I just hit something?!

In the middle of the night, Ben heard something that woke him up.
He searched where the noise was coming from.
He spotted something by the window. The window was wide open and… Mal was nowhere to be seen!
WHAT?! He made his way to the window.
Then he saw Mal sitting on the roof looking puzzled.
What is she doing?!

B: "Mal!" Ben reached out to grab her. "Mal come back inside! It's dangerous!"

Mal looked at him with a straight face making no movement.

B: "Mal trust me…"

On the island, it was easy to jump from rooftop to rooftop or from window to window. It was a very normal thing to do. but this building was high and there are no other buildings within reach. She could not get away like this. There was no escaping... Damn it. So Mal had to go back inside.

Mal slowly moved back to the window with Ben guiding her inside. Both moving to the sofa.

B: "Hey what is going on!? Why did you go through the window?"

M: "I wasn't trying to jump off or anything. (Mal said in a quiet voice.) I was just leaving."

B: "There are doors for that. Ben said with a sweet end tender voice."

M: "I know that, i... I didn't want to wake you."

Mal looked down. Her face was still pale maybe even more than before. Her eyes half-closed and her movements slow.

B: Mal you should have woken me up. Mal was still looking down and not looking at Ben.
"Why don't you te-"
"Wait could it be that...you don't want me to know that you're sick?"

Mal turned her head away.
"I am not sick! and I just wanted to go to my dorm. and I didn't want to wake you."

B: "Mal you and I both know you're sick. But I want to know why you are trying to hide it."
Ben laid his hand on her shoulder. Mal pulled away. and tried to back up.

"Don't touch me!" She said.

Ben looked sad. "Mal…" Ben came closer and pulled her in a strong hug.
Ben couldn't say why but in his eyes, Mal looked scared.
So he did the first thing that came to mind... He hugged her.

Mal didn't know what to do. He was hugging her. And he felt so warm.
MAL KEEP YOUR GUARD UP! The voice in her head yelled But it was no use… Ben felt so warm.
They stayed like that for a little while.

Mal couldn't help it, Ben felt so warm, but hugging and leaning against Ben made her so drowsy.

Ben felt Mal leaning more and more on him. She also felt very warm. Ben walked backward guiding mal to his bed. He made Mal sit on the bed. They just sat there. Mal was so tired, she did her best to keep her eyes open. But with no success.

For the second time, Mal fell asleep in Ben's arms. And for the second time, Ben laid his girlfriend on his bed under the covers. He laid his hand on the forehand of his girlfriend. It was hot.

He got himself a cloth made it wet and lay it on her burning forehead.

But this time he didn't go to sleep on the couch. He took the blanket from the sofa and laid himself down next to his girlfriend above the covers, but under the blanket.
He didn't want her waking up again and going through the window again.

So sleeping next to her was a better way to keep an eye on her.

He looked at the beautiful girl in front of him. He didn't even get the time to give her any medicine.
Why did she deny being sick? And why did she look scared when he touched her.
He was so confused. he brushed the hair out of her face.
He was going to find out why she did what she did. He really wanted to understand her.
Because he loved her, so so much.
Then he fell asleep.

The next morning Mal didn't know what to do. She could not stay, because of the fact that she just had woken up while cuddling whit Ben on the bed!
She started blushing like crazy. But she did feel a little bit better, her stomach still felt like crap but her head was better and so was her throat.
Then Mal got up out of bed. As quiet ah she could.
Then she looked at ben one more time. She knew Ben was trying to take care of her. But she didn't need that.
Sickness is not something that can be helped or something anyone can help with. It just has to pass.
Mall sneaked out. First out of the bed than out of the room.

Belle: "Ben…. Ben?"

Ben: "Mmm yeah?"

Belle: "Where is Mal?"

Ben: "…. She is right here ...What? She left?!
Well, I can't say I didn't saw that coming."

Belle: "Huh? what do you mean?"

Then Ben told his mother what happened that night.

Belle: I am so worried about her. Acting so strange. She is such a smart girl.
My son, something is wrong with her and it is to you to find out what.

Ben: yes mom that is exactly what I am going to do.

One hour later

Mal made it to class. She felt better so going to class was the normal thing to do. And her being absence would probably not go unnoticed. And would raise suspicion.

But things were going downwards again. All the symptoms from the day before had returned.
But it was too late she already was in class. And now, well people began to notice. Damn, What a bad idea, why didn't she leave and hide somewhere?

Lonnie: "Hey Audrey what's going on with Mal?"

Audrey: Pfff, I don't know Lonnie. I always said there is something wrong with that girl. Are you finely seeing it too?"

Lonnie: "No, I mean look. Mal's skin literally looks snow white. And well the look in her eyes it's like... It just isn't right"

Audrey: "Well yeah that's because she has no tan. I don't think she ever goes out in the sun."

Mal was shivering nonstop. It was so cold!
It's like the whole school had turned into a giant fridge. Plus she couldn't stop coughing.
Evie was also in the class and noticed Mal's behavior. They head a problem.
Slowly another hour went by.
Mal drifted in and out of sleep nonstop.
Luckily she was sitting in the back of the class. So the teacher didn't see her very well.

When class was over Evie shot to Mal.

"E: "Hey Mal come on class is over."

M: "Yeah…" Mal grabbed on to Evie's arm. She had no other choice."

Lonnie: "Um Mal is something wrong?"

Audrey: "Yeah she looks bad. But I mean not the usual bad. worse than normal."

Evie: "Euhh… nothing we were just watching late-night movies and she's just really tired I guess.
Evie lied with a smile. (Lying was nothing new to vk's)"

Mal: "Yeah it was pretty late last night. Mal could barely finish her sentence because she had to cough, she tried to hold it back but it came out anyway."

Lonnie: "Is she sick?!"

Evie: "Nonono…"

Audrey: "I'll get fairy godmother!"

Evie: "Nooo that's not... and Audrey was already gone."
Evie: "Shit. Common Mal let's go."

Evie and Mal made their way towards the dorms.
There were not too far now

But then Belle and fairy godmother came their way.

Fairy gm: "Oo look at you, dear!"

Belle: "Mal you should say something when you are sick. I've been looking for you."

Both Mal and Evie didn't trust the situation anymore, they were too sweet and it was getting too crowded.
Evie was still holding Mal up but she had to defend her friend. She saw that Mal was uneasy in the situation as well.
She had to get her out.

Evie: UMm were really sorry but we're leaving now. We got somewhere to be.
Evie and Mal made their way there dorm

Fairy gm: "Wait! We have to go to the school nurse!"

In the hallway, Evie saw Ben rushing towards them. He saw how Evie was trying to get Mal out. He didn't know why but he knew Mal didn't want people to think that she was sick. It was a weird fiasco but Ben directly decided to help. He took Mal's arm and wrapped it around his neck supporting Mal's weight and help them "escape."

Ben: "Where to?"

Evie: "Our room Ben"

Behind them were Fairy godmother, Belle, Lonnie, and Audrey.

They made it to The girl's dorms.
Evie locked the door. And they all got inside. Mal sat on her bed.

They could hear fairy godmother ask if everything was okay and that we had to go to the nurse with her.
But thankfully Belle calmed her down and gave the girls and her son some space. leaving together with Fairy Godmother

Thank god for Belle.
