Hello, everyone! This is a new chapter! Chapter 100! I hope everyone will enjoy it and without further ado, let's start!
-Rimuru POV-
So... how did it come to this? Why are we sitting at the table in the mansion of 'Vongola' facing this guy called Ninth? Well...
An hour before, Aichi and Kai had suddenly yelled at the top of their lungs after I saw their faces paled a few shades.
" Wh... What's wrong?!" I exclaimed out
" The puppets... They got found out by other people that don't know their secret..." Aichi muttered
" Huh? I-Is it that bad?" I ask
" It's the other side of Vongola Family and CEDEF... We did erase their memories but they found anyway... But no, no, not just that... They had let their magicules carelessly leak out into the world... Now there are some enemies causing trouble..." Kai explained
" Wait, huh?!"
[It is true that magicule leaks in a world without it might birth strong foes.]
Huh?! You're kidding! We taught those guys to absorb magicule particles in the air so that this wouldn't happen!
" Were they that careless?" Benimaru ask the two
" I can't believe it either, but yeah..." Aichi sighed
" And I thought we only had to handle the distorted world's problem." Kai sighed
" ... I'll go with you guys. It was also my mistake. I kind of forgot how they are Majins too. We'll have to give them a good talking to and get rid of the magicule leaking problem." I said
" But..."
" Benimaru, Rigurd, Shion. Make sure no one else, aside from Shuna, finds out about our absence. Give an excuse. We'll return as soon as we can. Can we leave Tasuku to Shuna for now? With such a crisis, I think it's best to leave him in safer hands. Milim is here too." I said, looking over to her sleeping form, " She is a Demon Lord, after all. If she asks about us, give her a plausible excuse but don't tell her where we actually went. I don't want her to find out about Aichi and Kai's powers to travel to different worlds."
" Yes, sir!"
" Where will we end up first? Vongola? Or the troublemakers?" I ask
" It seems like the troublemakers will converge in one place. Seems like they're trying to eliminate our puppets, the strong sources of the only magicules existing in our world. They are currently in the Vongola Mansion." Kai explained
" Alright. I guess I should change my outfit, huh?" I muttered, looking at my current casual wear
A slight darkish blue shirt with a long black bowtie around my collar along with long black pants and black shoes. This doesn't seem like a good outfit to wear to a mansion. I should go a little formally. Maybe that outfit I wore when I signed the contract with King Gazel?
" Oh, you don't have to. Ninth doesn't care about these things." Aichi interjected my thoughts
" Vongola Ninth is pretty laid back about clothes since this is not an official meeting." Kai added
" Okay..."
" But I think I do want to have a slight hairstyle change for you. May I?" Aichi ask, procuring a black ribbon from somewhere
" S... Sure..."
I turned my back to him while he bundled my hair up into a high ponytail, securing it with the ribbon.
" There! So cute!" Aichi exclaimed
" Yeah, yeah! You have good taste, Aichi." Shion said, giving him a thumbs up
What am I, a doll...? No, I already am one for quite awhile now. Don't you dare hide your laugh, Benimaru. I can hear you!
" But are you sure you don't want any of us to accompany you?" Rigurd ask
" Aichi and Kai are plenty in their world. We wouldn't want to cause more trouble by bringing monsters over. They might have met you guys before, but it's safer to not bring any more of us over. Also, as Aichi and Kai said, they had requested some of those that we had met to have their memories silently erased. It'll be too shocking for them to see us now." I explained
" It's frustrating as a secretary that I can't accompany you..." Shion said
" It's okay. Listen, if you behave, I'll let you cuddle my slime form later." I said
That brightened her mood. At least that's one troublesome one put at ease.
" Let's head off, Aichi, Kai." I said
" Okay."
Kai stared at me this time, he seemed to be pondering something. I raised my eyebrow at him.
" Kai?"
" Your face. Wanna hide it, cute face?" Kai smirked
This guy...! He's teasing too! Well... I guess using my mask would hide my magicule completely too, so it's not that much of a harm.
" You think so too?" Aichi ask
" Sure I do, you styled him that way. You're cute too." Kai replied, poking his cheek
Anddddd, he blushed. Of course... These two will seriously be soulmates for life it seems. I got my mask out and wore it.
" There! Better now?" I ask
Kai simply let out a huff of laughter before nodding.
" Then let's go."
They had immediately gotten their swords out to open the portal and we stepped inside it. When we walked out of the portal to their world, I am immediately amazed. What a big mansion!
" This is the Vongola Mansion." Aichi said
" It's been a long time since I've seen a building like this." I took in the sight
" Come on, you're telling me you won't build one? You seem to have those kinds of big thoughts going on in your head." Kai huffed
" No. My priority right now is to just build up the town as much as we can. I don't have such a luxurious idea right now." I said
" Sooner or later." He shrugged his shoulders
He's not wrong about that...
[Mental image of mansion captured. Image of mansion can now be shown through Thought Communication to your subordinates.]
Great Sage sure knows me well. Maybe one day, but not now.
" Oh, who do we have here?"
We turned towards the entrance and noticed the person that called us out.
" You're..." Aichi trailed off
" I'm Ninth's Rain Guardian. It's nice to meet you again, Aichi-dono, Kai-dono."
Rain Guardian? Oh right, this world uses flames most of the time for fights among mafia families.
" Us too."
" And this young girl?"
Me? He's talking about me, isn't he?
[Yes.]
So I'll be treated like a young girl no matter where I go... I think that's why they get worried about people seeing my face. Earth can have weird men going after lolicons, after all. Not like I was one of them. I prefer elf ladies.
" Um..."
I forgot about him for a moment there.
" We'll have proper introductions later. We were called by our puppets, so can you bring us there?" Kai interjected
" Okay..."
We were led to the big meeting room. There had already been people gathered inside. I recognize some of the young ones, most being Aichi and Kai's friends from here. Seems like some of them recognize me from my mask. Right... I wore this during that fight too.
" Hey, it's been a long while!" The young blond greeted us
" Miwa-san! Everyone!"
There was a sudden shifting of the chairs and we looked over to the two individuals that stared back at me with shocked looks. Ah... There's our problem puppets.
" L-Lo-"
Aichi immediately silenced his puppet with a finger to his lips. Does he intend to keep my identity a secret until introductions? Though this seemed to calm those two enough to have them sit back down.
" Since everyone has arrived, shall we settle ourselves down and have our conversation?" An old man across the meeting table got our attention
Seems like he wants either Aichi or Kai to sit on that seat across from him. I moved over to one of the seats at the side, but was caught off guard when Kai tugged my arm to settle me down on that seat. Wait... Wait, wait, wait!
" You're our Lord and you wanted to get involved." Kai sent a communication
" Huh?!"
Aichi giggled at my obvious demise hidden by my mask, settling on the seat to my right. Kai settled right beside him after that. And that's how I ended up in this situation. Ugh... Everyone's just staring holes into me now... What do I do with this awkward situation?!
[Suggestion: Divert attention with introductions.]
I guess... we can start with that.
" Uh... Can we first just get to know each other?" I suggest, raising my hand
" ... Sure."
The old man is, as I suspected, the Vongola Ninth. His Rain Guardian, Brabanter, left to get us some refreshments while I listened to their introductions to me. So, the Tenth Generation has his grandson as the next leader of Vongola. He and his friends are at least two years younger than Aichi and Kai's friends. Those babies are ex-Arcobaleno, previously cursed with their form, but they are now steadily growing to return to their old form before being cursed. Some of the other men that were in suits are from a mafia police force called CEDEF. Seems like Aichi's father is here too.
" And now it is your turn. Who might you be?" Ninth ask, turning the attention back to me
Well, I guess here goes nothing.
" My name is Rimuru Tempest." I introduced myself
" That is enough, Rimuru-sama. Most of the people here had their memories erased, so they don't have to know what you do for now." Aichi communicated
" Got it."
" And may I ask what is your relation to Aichi and Kai?" Ninth continued
Yikes... Is he onto us? Should I actually just say it out loud...?
" Someone important. I think we can leave it at that." Aichi interrupted
" Important enough that she has to join us today?" Ninth prodded further
And did he call me a 'she'?! Oh god, this is not good...
" Yes. In fact, she had offered to join today because of our case. That's why we returned." Aichi replied
... Kai! I heard that snort! You're laughing at this too, aren't you?!
" Hm... Alright then."
" Then back to our topic at hand. You're saying that an elemental power leak created something unknown in this world?" Aichi ask
" Y-Yes!"
Interesting. Aichi's trying to hide that we have magicules, something that doesn't exist in this world. I wonder...
" And where are they currently?" Kai ask
" Well, they are coming here for sure. They sense our power since we gathered." Puppet Aichi replied
" How did you guys even find out about them in the first place?" Aichi ask
" There had been some... interesting news around the world. We could tell that it was ma... elemental powers at work." Puppet Kai explained
" And you believe that they are coming after you guys for more. Thus, the gathering to fight them." Kai said
" Yes."
Makes sense. They had accidentally let their magicules leak. They must have magicule signatures that those things can detect. Brabanter returned with some drinks for us. I guess juice is fine with me. I would want some wine but drinking alcohol at such a time might be a bad impression on them.
[Warning: Making that decision will result in angering individual Aichi.]
I know... Also, if I had gotten tea, I'll have to remove my mask. I think Aichi and Kai wouldn't like that, for now. I sipped on my juice with a straw while the conversation continued.
" Do we have an estimate on their arrival?" Aichi ask
" From what we've tried to sense around, might be a few hours or so." Misaki replied
" A few hours? ... I see."
Huh... That's way too much time for preparations. I have a feeling that this isn't the case, but since Great Sage hasn't sensed anything hostile approaching, I guess we can only rely on that information.
" Are they so dangerous that everyone is here?" I ask
I am curious because from this group, I can tell that they are strong individuals in this world's logic and rules. Yet they are extremely wary of some 'elementals' that appeared out of nowhere.
" We're also calling on the help of other Family. We hope that this threat wouldn't be too big of a problem though." Ninth replied
" Damn... That serious, huh?" I muttered under my breath
" Not just that! You guys left puppets and ran off to some other place! You never explained that yet!" The grey-haired hothead, Gokudera, yelled
" There have been a number of unique circumstances and we left them here to take care of things in our place. I believe Misaki-san and the others explained it before we arrived." Aichi said
" Nothing that they tell us adds up!" Gokudera rebutted
" Additionally, you guys bought a child over for such an important meeting! What is the meaning of this?" That busty blackhead, Adelheid, ask
I got called a child again! This won't work without changing my body's age...
" I asked to come with them." I replied
" This is the mafia. I can't believe you'll bring someone like that over." Adelheid ignored me
" No, wait-"
" In the first place, leaving puppets to do whatever you guys do never felt right! How long did you guys plan to keep this secret?!" Another hothead, Koyo, had yelled
Ugh... My voice is being drowned out. Should I do something? Some others are chiming in with the previous ones. The puppets along with Misaki and the others were looking uncomfortable. They don't want the secret behind the magicules being spilled. Aichi and Kai can still be calmly listening to those complains! I need their patience... I find it hard to endure. Without this mask, my expression to them must be uncomfortable too.
" G-Guys!"
Hm? Tsunayoshi and Enma had started to voice out to stop their friends. Wow. They actually can listen to them. Must be the potential future positions that they will inherit. Still, I'm amazed at how Aichi and Kai are still keeping their silence like that. The room is finally quiet again...
" Aichi-san, Kai-san. Sorry about this. But still, we want our questions answered, at least." Tsunayoshi finally spoke
" We understand that everyone is upset, especially you, Father. But we would like to withhold information and maintain our silence. I'm unsure how you figured out that our puppets are not us, but we can leave it at that. Right now, we are just here for the threat that's coming soon." Aichi answered
Nice save, Aichi. I guess I can leave the talking to them after all. But... What's this?
[Analysis reveals this to be a gun made out of special material that can handle the Sky element.]
I can see that. That thing is pointing at my head right now. I noticed him but you know, I don't really know how to react either in this situation.
" X-Xanxus!"
" You trash. Who are you?" This guy, Xanxus, ask
" Me? My name is Rimuru Tempest." I introduced myself again
" Who do you think you are? You shouldn't be sitting here." He said, glaring at me
" I put her there." Kai admitted
" Trash. I didn't permit you to speak. I'm asking this kid." Xanxus said
" Xanxus! Cease immediately!" Ninth ordered
He still has that thing on my head. Guess he's a hard head. What do I do? I don't want to fight him... But if I don't, I think something else will snap in this room. As soon as I set my glass down, I started to stand. The gun was beginning to emit a soft glow.
" I really didn't want to do this..." I sighed
But I didn't have to do anything after all, because Aichi's patience had snapped. It was way too late... He was already holding the tip of his golden sword at this guy's neck.
" Xanxus-san. This is a civil talk and this is someone important. I recommend you put your gun down." Aichi warned
His smile isn't wavering but he's serious. If this guy knows what is best, he should probably put that down, but it wouldn't be that easy. Maybe I can show off a bit... I give Aichi a signal to put his weapon down. He noticed and did as I signaled, sitting back down.
" Fine then. Then try shooting me. If I don't survive, then I guess I really can't sit here." I said, tempting him to pull the trigger
" Hey!"
" Don't be crazy!"
" Xanxus!"
He just continued to glare at me but the gun is put away soon after. I guess it was the fact that Aichi interfered that got him to really stop.
" Hmph. I'll be in the other room. This room is just full of trashes."
He just stomped off with other people and closed the door. I sat back down and realized that I had many eyes on me.
" Don't look at me like that! I can deal with it, really!" I exclaimed
" That was dangerous, kid!" Yamamoto pointed out
" Uh, well..."
Kai snorted again! This guy just thinks this is funny!
" Quit laughing at me already, Kai! How long do you plan to think of me as a kid?!" I exclaimed
" Can't be helped. You're so small, after all." Kai shrugged
" You...!"
" It's okay. You'll grow one day." Aichi assured
" Come on, Aichi! Don't joke around with me!" I exclaimed
" You can't be serious. You decided to play with fire and wanted to actually get shot. Who's the joking one?" Aichi ask
" Ugh..."
" Anyway... We'll wait for those things to come over and do something about them. That's what we promised to do. After that, we'll have to return to what we have to do again." Aichi said
He set his teacup down and got up. Kai followed afterwards while I took Aichi's hand to stand up.
" You two, come with us for a bit." Kai said
The two puppets nodded and followed after us.
