I do not own Pokémon in any type of way. Game Freak, Nintendo, T.V Tokyo and any other contributors to Pokémon do.

This is written in third person point of view.

Hope you love it. Please love it.

What I write is pure fiction, if by some chance what I say is true or in any way real, it is purely coincidental. Nothing here is real.

2 WEEKS SINCE SERENA GOT DUMPED LIKE A STUPID BITCH, SHE IS.

"Can you tell me why we're parked out front of Ash's building – eff my building for the 6th day in a row, Serena?" Bonnie complained as she sat, bored to tears with her laptop on her lap, eating some chips while rubbing her stinging eyes. Delphox and Dedenne both huffed in agreement from the back seats, arms folded, looking cross.

Serena continued to stare out the driver's side, binoculars on eyes, hair unkempt, and scowl set in the face as she glared out the window waiting to see Ash Ketchum walk into his building.

It had been two weeks since Ash dumped her (although Bonnie clarified to her countless times that you had to be in a relationship to be dumped or whatever-) and Serena was not having it.

It had been two weeks since Serena realized she couldn't breathe. She didn't like this feeling.

It was 13 days since she felt his presence.

It was 12 days she could no longer smell him or remember what he sounded like.

It was 11 days since she realized she longed for his soft touch, his kisses, his gentle touches to her hair, cheeks, and hand.

It was 10 days since she took a walk to the docks.

FLASHBACK YA'LL

Serena wasn't t herself. She wore a pair of jeans, a T-shirt and sneakers; hair in a ponytail, bare-faced and a backpack slung over her shoulder.

Bonnie was horrified to see her. (Serena was always a jubilant girl when it came to fashion. She loved to dress up, it was her nature but to see her so, casual, alarmed Bonnie that she immediately called Clemont to find out what was going on.

"He finished our arrangement," Serena told her, her voice out of it as if she was a bit confused. Bonnie stared at her and pulled her into the Penthouse.

Bonnie blinked rapidly, trying to process what happened. Ash wasn't even home, he left for Kanto to return to Pallet town, some issues with Professor Oak needed to be handled. Bonnie often had to remember Ash didn't live in Kalos but frequently visited due to his business with Clemont.

Clemont had accompanied him this time to discuss some security measures with Gary, one of Ash's good friends.

She watched her friend helplessly. According to Ash from Clemont, he wanted a healthy relationship from Serena and if she wasn't willing to do that, he couldn't continue.

Bonnie blinked and scrunched her face as she sat on the sofa, processing Clemont's feedback, watching Serena as she looked dejected.

She made a decision.

She released her Flabebe and allowed it to sit with Serena. She made some half-assed excuse and disappeared into her office/ Clemont's office.

She dialed a familiar number. He picked up on the first ring.

"Bonnie." He stated his greeting, smiling despite knowing this would be a trying conversation.

She greeted him before asking what happened, he filled her in from the last couple of days, down to his conversation of self-interest with Miette and the outburst with Serena when they had dinner.

Bonnie surprised him by speaking in a quiet tone.

"Ash, why?" Her voice broke, Bonnie held her throat. His smile died and he scrubbed his face.

"I need you to not interfere, Bonnie. We have to work this out on our own and Bonnie, if we don't move forward, it's okay." He spoke.

"Don't you love her." She asked him quietly.

He hesitated; his hesitation made Bonnie close her eyes.

"I do." He whispered. Mashing his lips. He regretted saying it but felt liberated at the same time.

"Then why did you do this?"

Ash knew Bonnie would not understand.

"I'll sound selfish when I say this but, Bonnie, Serena needs to want me. She needs to figure it out herself. I have given myself one hundred percent but I'm not going to sit and wait to see if she would.

I was fine before she and I'll continue on but for us to move to a place where we could blossom, she needs to want to be there." Ash said, he realized it was easy to tell her what he wanted.

"I'm not her savior, Bonnie. I'm not the person who is going to save her from her demons. She needs to do that for herself. What I can be, is a man who loves her unconditionally." He said.

Bonnie nodded, forgetting Ash couldn't see her.

"I understand."

Ash exhaled loudly. "Bons, let's talk later, I'm dealing with something, okay?" Bonnie agreed, expressing thanks then hanging the phone up.

Bonnie headed back to the living room, resuming hr place next to Serena, her entire outlook different.

Serena sat quiet. She was angry though; her depressive thoughts were all over. Anger, understanding, acceptance, mirth, confusion. How could he do this to her?

"How could he do this to me?" Serena said.

"And what exactly are you referring to?" Bonnie asked, from her perch on the sofa, her legs crossed.

"This push and pull, I told him how I felt, I explicitly told him I liked him on many occasions, I made out with him I sought him out and I …." Serena said, working herself up.

She stood up.

"Didn't do enough." Bonnie said firmly. Serena whipped around to face her; her eyes wide. Bonnie stood up cause apparently, this was a standing conversation, Bonnie internally rolled her eyes.

"So what, Serena?" Bonnie told her sharply. "You told him he once looked good in pastel pink pants and we all knew it was a lie. What I'm saying is, you said something. Boohoo, you want a trophy?

Serena was taken aback by Bonnie.

"Bonnie, he is the one that's wrong with all of this-"

"No, he isn't." Bonnie denied firmly.

"You're the one who told me you wanted change, you wanted to be on your own, you got out of your contract because you were feeling stifled, abused and inhumane. Yet, you can't see how the years of being under Palermo have affected the way you behave to people who care about you."

"You aren't open with Ash, you're not vulnerable-"

"I am-"

"You never give him an inch of yourself. You never open yourself to him. You're as reserved and closed up as a bloody dam. It's not healthy towards a person you want to have a relationship with. Can you even give Ash an inch of who you truly are, Serena? Can you give him your fears, your jokes, your vulnerabilities, your weaknesses? Can you tell me if you can lower those titanium walls you took years to build from anyone for him?" Bonnie fired off at her.

Serena could only stare, stunned to her core.

"Ash could only do so much, Serena." Bonnie said softly. "But you have to be willing to let him break your walls down."

Serena stared wide-eyed. She was never spoken to like that from Bonnie. Sure, Bonnie spoke like that to Clemont and Ash but mainly when they needed their ass handed to them. Serena didn't realize she needed that as well. She processed.

"I'm going for a walk to the docks." Before she turned and left the Penthouse.

END OF FLASHBACK LOVELIES.

10 DAYS SINCE BONNIE HANDED SERENA HER FINE ASS.

"Didn't you tear me a new one? So, suck it up and keep an eye out for Ash." Serena stated.

It has been nine days since Ash returned to Kalos.

It was eight days since Serena was waiting in front of Bonnie's and Clemont's building (the girls were going for dinner and Serena was still rocking jeans and a T.) when Ash came out to head to his car, Pikachu surfing on his shoulder. He bumped into Serena when a swarm of Fletching came out of the sky, distracting him. Their eyes caught, no words, silence, breeze, hair whipping, the intensity of the moment, him staring down, over her. She, looking up, gazing, staring. Feeling. It was consuming.

She wanted to be consumed by him. All of him.

And like that, the moment passed. It felt like eternity but it was a moment. Ash saw her, Ash left her.

She was alone again. She yearned for him. Her heart ached, gazing as he walked away, his eyes never breaking from hers.

Bonnie met her downstairs, staring at the spot Ash's car just vacated.

Serena was in deep thought throughout dinner.

It was seven days now when Serena decided she was going to 'observe Ash' to get a better understanding of him.

"Serena, you're stalking him." Bonnie deadpanned. "Also, won't it make more sense to just hang around my place?" Bonnie huffed "He's practically there all the time."

"I'm observing him, Bonnie." Serena chimed, "it gives me a fair advantage."

"For what exactly?" Bonnie asked, eyebrow raising.

"Research purposes." Bitch brow grew. "Where did you get all of this?" Bonnie questioned quietly gesturing to all her hi-tech stuff in the van. Bonnie felt she should have candy in the back while whispering to small kids if they want any.

Serena just gave her a look and turned back with her binoculars muttering something about Clemont.

"There he is!" She squealed before switching to her monitoring goggles to zoom in on him.

Ash was getting out of his car with Pikachu on his shoulder. Koury was in the driver seat.

In a moment of deep, thrilling anticipation, a girl dressed in all white stepped out of the car. Ash was beaming at her with such happiness. A long, billowing nine tales stepped out, Pikachu dropping on the billowing tails in a similar beaming smile.

The girl laughed loudly at something Ash was saying as he explained to her. Serena saw them smile once more before bursting into laughter once again. Ash gestured to go inside and the party exited into the building.

Bonnie saw the entire exchange. The van was deadly quiet. No one moved. Pokémon stayed quiet.

Serena felt a foreign emotion bubbling in her stomach. Her heart ached. She didn't understand.

She felt rage, anger. She hated him. She absolutely hated him in that moment for she realized, she wasn't his world any more.

She realized he was hers.

An Hour Since the Van Was Dumped in Front of Citron Enterprises and A Crazed Honey Blonde Could Be Seen Storming Off.

Serena was walking along the boardwalk of the Lumiose city. The city grew as a background, illuminating the sky with its dazzling lights. She turned her back to all of the radiance to watch out into the dark, black ocean. The waves crashed against the sea wall, blackness crashing and bursting to white foams of expression. She felt the breeze on her skin, hair billowing.

She was confused and conflicted.

How did she feel about Ash?

She knew it came down to that answer. Nothing could move forward until she figured out her own feelings. She couldn't do this indecisive behavior any longer. She needed to know what she felt for him. She wanted to stare out into the ocean the entire night. In this moment, she felt so insignificant. She was a small speck in this entire world, just living, not living but moving. She wanted to feel. On a level she wanted to believe was out there. She wanted to love him, she realized it was what she wanted to do. She inhaled deeply. She looked up once again, drawing breath, filling her lungs with hope, conflict resolution.

She thought back to her past.

That night in Snowbelle

FLASHBACK

She stood in the snow, watching this seventeen-year-old, her eyes filled with absolute adoration for him. He stood before her, watching her with ignorance.

"Serena, you shouldn't have come here," Ash growled at her. "I'm not in the proper frame of mind."

"Ash, why don't you come back to the Pokémon center and figure out your next move," Serena said softly. She took a step back as he glared at her.

"You don't understand." Ash grumbled "I hurt Greninja, I pushed him, I should have known better. This isn't child's play. This is Serious.

"Maybe-

"No!" he snapped "Don't you understand I want to be left alone! For Arceus' sake, you don't even know what it means to work for something. You've been given everything in life!" He instantly regretted it but Serena didn't know.

He knew he was wrong, but Serena didn't know. In fact, he knew Serena despised her elitist upbringing more than anyone.

She knew he knew.

It was quiet. Her eyes grew wide.

She didn't react, she simply turned around and left.

Ash hated himself at that moment.

With respect to that night, Serena headed back to the Pokémon center, packed her things and left in the middle of the night.

Ash came back in the morning, feeling like shit when Clemont asked why Serena had left.

FLASHBACK OVER

Serena stared at the fingernail shaped moon; she took a deep breath. She realized now that maybe she had overreacted. But the hate was strong.

She knew why she hated him so much that night because it was true.

Serena had no problems in her life. She would have liked to say she had a horrible life; her parents were bad; she grew up not that well but it would be a lie.

Her parents loved her dearly and truly wished she did what she wanted and were supportive when she wanted to find herself. They were just a bit helpful when they wanted to use their many connections to help her with anything.

She remembered on a cold night, Ash and she had gotten close, talking about their backgrounds where she confided in how she felt, her parents' fortune in life and how she could have been home, doing nothing but being a socialite. How she hated to not have a reason to stand on the floor other than who her family was. He understood and then in the night of Snowbelle, he threw it in her face.

She promised she would make something of herself to prove him wrong.

So, she did. she took Palermo's offer, worked her ass off in contests, showcases. She did the strict diets, the pageants, the forced smiles, the fake personalities, the actress.

She made a name in an industry her family had no ties in and she continued her drive.

Serena came back to earth, she got off the bench and took a stroll, her jeans were a bit damp from the misting sea, her hair knotted from the wind.

She felt so low at this point as she re-evaluated her life.

For the first time, she felt at rock bottom.

She didn't have a career anymore. She realized she lost her drive for it. She lost her desire and passion and called quits, searching desperately for some sort of relief.

She didn't have love in her life anymore. She destroyed that before it could have even blossomed into something big and beautiful.

She didn't have a drive.

She didn't have a plan in her life at all.

She felt like the biggest loser in the entire Pokémon universe.

Her bracelets jingled as she stood poised by the railings to the sea. Her skin illuminated by the LED bulbs of the streetlamp. Her skin glowing due to the mist. She felt lost and refreshed.

Ash was with someone.

She felt her heartache but she truly couldn't be angry. This was her punishment. This was Arceus teaching her a lesson. Lunala was fuelling her punishment. Hurting her heart.

She deserved it. She is an awful person.

Ash. He was the opposite of her.

She knew now he was provoked and confused now, not angry at her but more at himself.

She just was too involved in her adoration for him to see it wasn't her.

She was s young, so lost, so innocent.

The world had hardened her and now, she was just grown.

The crashing waves soothed her, her feelings reflecting in the stirring ocean as the misting was turning to drizzle. She welcomed the rain, hoping her pores would soak up the water, cleaning herself of negativity.

She couldn't do anything anymore. This was how her book was written and now, she could only turn her page.
