If the devil knows the piano so well, who's to say he doesn't know all the other instruments?

this is loosely based on the song 'Devil Went Down to Georgia', I so wanted that to be part of the show

One of the nights Chloe had dropped Trixie at Dan's to come hang out with Lucifer, he was late so she began rummaging around his flat. She texted him quick to say she was there, and went to a room she hadn't seen before, loaded with fancy cabinets stacked to the high ceiling. One she opened had...adult toys. Another, coupons...why would the devil need coupons? A third one she opened, held a tangle of gleaming instruments. A trombone, saxophone, violin, tuba. She found a fiddle and heard him calling for her.

"Detective?"

She came out with the fiddle in both hands, delighted at her newfound treasure. Lucifer's always-present grin faded as he saw the instrument.

"If you have this and those other instruments, does that mean you know how to play all of them?"

"Yeah" He replied, nervous and shuffling his feet.

"Have you played them recently?"

"Not as frequent as my piano, but yes. I stopped playing the bloody fiddle the last time I came back from Georgia."

"Oh my God," Chloe replied, a smile spreading. "That song's true?"

"I suppose Dad must've had something to do with it, but yes, that is one of the few songs that are." Lucifer said, then eyed the fiddle.

"Why don't you play something on it?" She offered, handing it out to him.

"Well, long as a chap called Johnny doesn't some poking around." He joked nervously, taking it.

"I bet it's hard to find someone better at something than you are." She agreed, before finding a spot to sit and listen.

When Lucifer began to play the fiddle, it was sweet and fast, the notes all hit perfectly. A combinaiton of something sad and just playful enough that it was a work Lucifer must've either written or helped to write. Chloe's grin went from the fast-moving hand over the fiddle to his emotionally invested face, to the instrument, wondering how old that particular one was despite looking brand-new.

Silence enveloped the flat when he finished, and Chloe had to force herself not to clap at the performance.

"That was beautiful, thank you." She said, eyes shining. Lucifer grinned and set the fiddle down, then went to join her at the piano bench where she'd elected to sit.

"You know, detective, it wasn't my pride bring stomped into the ground with Johnny's skill on the fiddle that makes it such a raw memory still." Lucifer said. She nodded for him to go on, staring in the same compassionate way he'd found to be so comforting. "The fact he insulted my mother, back before I knew the reason she had been cast into hell with me. It felt like the wound opening all over again, the memory of her doing nothing to stop Dad from kicking me out becoming fresh."

Chloe nodded again and put an arm around his waist, leaning her head on his shoulder. He leaned his head against hers, smiling at the closeness.

"Do you think you could ever see her again?" She asked.

"I honestly don't know, detective. The sword I used to open the universe, lightbringer, I'm the only one who's able to activate it. That's to say she hadn't found a way to create a being who could do the same so she could visit on the weekends." He joked. Chloe smirked.

"I'm glad I know everything now, Lucifer. Everything, since the day we met and before that." She replied, putting her other arm up to his shoulder in a full side-hug. He rested a hand on hers and lifted his head to look at her.

"As do I, Chloe."
