Part 7: Knights appear
The next day Suzaku was walking to the student council office, "From what I hear Lelouch is acting as the Vice President," he thought before seeing his old friend standing outside the room.
"Glad you could make it," Lelouch said calmly.
"Sorry, but I meant to tell you last night that it wouldn't be best if were hanging around each other, people could get suspicious," Suzaku said looking serious.
"Just like last time," Lelouch thought but kept his face calm, "Its important that all the students here are part of a club, I know your still in the military but at least by joining us it wont cause any problems," he said before opening the door and the entire council was waiting for them.
"Hey looks who's here, welcome to the student council," Rival said standing up from his seat.
"So this our new member, you sure hes up for the task vp," Milly said from where she was sitting on the table.
"Of course madam president, this is Milly Ashford the student council president and the one who welcomed you was Rival," he said.
"This is Shirley, shes a member of the swim club," Milly said.
"Hello," she said without looking up from her work.
"Uh is she okay," Suzaku said looking confused.
"Oh shes still a little down that Kallen and Lelouch started dating," Milly said, "Over there is our final member Nina," she said.
"How do you two know each other?" Nina asked looking at Lelouch and Suzaku.
"He was in my class and I decided to welcome him," Lelouch said before he felt his phone vibrate and he opened it, "Oh Kallen it looks like were all set for later," he said. Kallen nodded knowing what he meant.
"Wait what," Shirley said sitting up.
"Lelouch are you taking your girlfriend out on a romantic date," Milly said smiling.
"Well I'm not one to tell stories madam president," Lelouch said smiling nervously, "I better make sure C2 stays out of sight, people see the two of us walking together I wont hear the end of it," he thought annoyed.
"Wait is she going to be coming to your matches Lelouch," Rival said.
"What matches?" Suzaku asked looking at Lelouch.
"A life he left behind him," Kallen said calmly before getting out of her chair, "Lelouch lets get something to eat before we leave," she said.
"Right sounds good," Lelouch said before they left the room and when they were far enough he let out a breath, "Thanks for that," he said and she smiled.
"No problem, so were all set to go," Kallen said.
"Yeah, Cornelia will be in for a surprise and the black knights will appear much earlier to before to show we fight for what is right," he said looking determined.
Much later in Shinjuku, Cornelia was in her mobile command centre as she ordered her troops around the area, "Guilford would you say the conditions here are the same as from a few days ago," she said.
"Yes your highness, according to the report a resistance group was able get a hold on some Knightmares and fought back," Guilford said, "They came close to victory had it not been for the Lancelot,".
"Yet they still got away and Clovis was killed," Cornelia said, "We will use this and draw Zero out from hiding, now go out and destroy the resistance," she said as the knightmares went out and started killing the members of the resistance group in the area.
Underground the person in charge was looking nervous, "We don't stand a chance against knightmares," one of the people said when their radio went off.
"This is Ohgi, can anyone hear me," Ohgi said from the radio and the leader picked it up.
"Ohgi, the new viceroy is already attacking, where is Zero?" He asked.
"Zero told me to give you some messages, he says if you follow these instructions then the viceroy will retreat from the area," Ohgi said making the group look confused before the leader looked determined.
"Very well, what were Zeros instructions?" The leader asked. After listening to what Ohgi said, the group was able to get their hands on enemy Knightmares. They shot down their enemy but never moved further up.
"All teams move further in," Dalton said giving instructions. The knightmares moved forward and continued to pursue the resistance.
"Dalton whats happening?" Cornelia asked.
"It appears they're not interested in coming after you your highness," he said.
"They could be trying to lure us into a trap," Guilford said looking at Cornelia.
"Possible since they know this area well," she said before noticing one of the men at a console talking to someone on the radio.
"Sir Guilford theres a call for you, its from sir Jeremiah," he said and Cornelia looked confused since he had a surprised look on his face.
"Tell him were in the middle of a battle," Guilford said.
"But sir, he says hes spotted Zero," he said making all three of them look surprised.
"Put him through," Guilford said before standing next to the console, "Sir Jeremiah whats this all about," he said.
"I was following a lead, apparently someone had spotted Zero, before I could catch up to him one of our own Knightmares and the Glasgow I fought a few days ago showed up," Jeremiah said, "They're attacking a warehouse and I'm not sure why,".
"Princess if we hurry we can still catch him," Guilford said before someone else spoke up.
"Its an ambush," he said as the signs for their units being destroyed appeared on their map.
"Tell everyone to retreat, Zero isn't coming," Cornelia said standing up and looking annoyed, "Just what was he doing all this time,".
"Your highness the resistance is attacking more of our troops, it will be a while before they reach us," Dalton said.
"If they don't get back here soon, Zero will be long gone," Guilford said looking annoyed.
"We've been tricked," Cornelia said.
They were able to get most of their Knightmares back before they left Shinjuku. The resistance cheered as they left.
Flashback:
Much earlier in a warehouse district, "Its an old one I had repaired, but it might not be best to use it if Cornelia gets here on time," Jeremiah said looking at Lelouch who was dressed up as Zero.
"It will do just fine, if all goes according to plan we will be long gone and our message will be out there," Lelouch said calmly before looking at Kallen who was standing outside the cockpit of her Glasgow.
"All good to go here," Kallen said before looking at Tamaki and some of the others. They were now dressed in their black knight uniforms.
"Yeah lets get read of this stuff for good," Tamaki said.
"You should leave now Jeremiah, be ready to make the call," Lelouch said.
"Of course and good luck your majesty," Jeremiah said before running off as Lelouch entered the knightmare.
"Tamaki take down the door, me and Kallen will go in after," Lelouch said.
"Copy that Zero, alright everyone lets move in," Tamaki said as they all ran to the warehouse door and shot it down. After it was opened Kallen and Lelouch moved in and started destroying the boxes that were inside. What came out were broken tubes of refrain.
They were taking down the factory where it was being made after getting its location from Kallens mother. "Zero all that's left is the room in the back," Kallen said before moving the door and going inside the dark room.
Even though she saw it already, seeing it a second time was still shocking. They were people who had taken the drug and were walking around saying different things, "This isn't right," she thought before Lelouch spoke over the radio.
"Kallen move," he said before a police knightmare pushed into Kallen and she did her best to avoid hitting any of the people.
"So they had guards all day long as well as the night," Lelouch thought looking annoyed before noticing another knightmare pull out from another section, "Wait theres two of them," he thought looking surprised. Knowing there was only one last time.
He moved quickly avoiding the gun fire and moved around the storage shelf. The police knightmare gave chase and Lelouch fired taking off its gun arm but still had a shield. Then a rocket hit it from the back destroying it.
"Thought I might see these guys again so we came prepared," Tamaki said.
"Excellent work, start getting the people out of here," Lelouch said before going to help Kallen who was fighting against the other officer. She got read of its gun but had lost her Knightmares left arm.
"Come on," Kallen said before pushing the Knightmare into the shelf and grabbed its head, "I can at least stop you from seeing," she said before ripping its head off.
It then took out its knife and started swinging around wildly.
"No," Kallen said as the knife managed to hit the front of her knightmare.
Lelouch yelled from behind Kallen and pushed the Knightmare into the container behind it. Its cockpit facing the container and was destroyed.
"Zero Im sorry," Kallen said looking down from needing help.
"Don't worry about it, its been a while since we used this kind of knightmare before anyway," Lelouch said before taking a breath. After making sure they got everyone out, they headed outside Ohgi was waiting for them, "I just got a report, they got them falling for your trap," he said.
"I still haven't gotten the report from our ally, so we have plenty of time to make our escape," Lelouch said before the man in charge of the building spoke up.
"Just who do you think you all are," he said before Lelouch walked up to him.
"Tell the new viceroy the black knights were responsible for taking refrain off the streets, we are the ones who will fight for justice," Zero said before his phone went off and saw it was a a message from Jeremiah.
"Hey Zero we found another one of those corrupt cops," Tamaki said walking out with the other black knights and a cop that had been tied up.
"So he was working with the two knightmares you fought," Ohgi said with an annoyed look on his face.
"Yes, but he gave up the name of the man in charge when we told him about what happened to the other two," Lelouch said noticing the man had a nervous look on his face. He then took out his phone and made a call.
Flashback end
By the time Cornelia, Dalton and Guilford arrived at the warehouse the black knights were long gone. There were barricades set up and there was a news reporter being filmed. People in suits and a cop were bing put in vans.
"Viceroy," Jeremiah said walking over to her.
"What happened here Jeremiah, where is Zero," Cornelia said.
"I'm afraid by the time I came back here with the police, Zero was long gone by the time we got here and we discovered that the drug refrain was being made here," Jeremiah said before taking out a piece of paper, "I found this in the warehouse," he said.
The words on the note were the last two things Lelouch said to the man in charge. The note was signed Zero and the black knights.
"So this group has a name," Dalton said.
"Yes and they've made themselves look like the heroes," Guilford said looking at the news crew.
The next day at Ashford, Lelouch and Kallen were in the student council room watching the news report on the black knights appearance at a warehouse that was being used to make refrain.
"Hey looks who are the first ones here," Milly said walking in with the rest of the student council.
"Yeah can you believe that, they said there was a lot of that stuff in there," Rival said sitting down at the table.
"Well hopefully that's the last will see of that drug," Lelouch said before he noticed Suzaku staring at the tv, "Hey is there something wrong,".
"Why wouldn't these black knights just join the police, if they wanted to help people they should be fighting for justice," he said.
"Maybe that wouldn't have been a good idea," Rival said bringing his attention back to the tv. That showed a police officer in handcuffs. Then about the arrest of an officer that was a high rank.
Later on in the day Lelouch and Kallen were waiting at the school gate for someone. Then a taxi pulled up and man stepped out. He was wearing a hat and sunglasses but Lelouch knew it was Jeremiah.
"Its good to see you again old friend," Lelouch said.
"Yes you as well, I must get back to work soon otherwise there will be trouble," Jeremiah said. The three of them headed to the girls dorm and reached Lelouch and Nunnallys room.
"Master Lelouch, Lady Kallen welcome back," Sayako said from sitting across from Nunnally.
"Thank you Sayako, Nunnally I brought someone back with me," Lelouch said as Jeremiah walked over to her.
"Whos there," she said before Jeremiah kneeled down.
"Lady Nunnally, its been some time and I'm sure you don't remember me," Jeremiah said.
"That voice, its been a long time but I think I saw you talk to my mother before," Nunnally said.
"This man served under our mother, Jeremiah Gottwald," Lelouch said.
"Is its safe for him to be here," Nunnally said looking worried.
"Actually Nunnally, hes here to help you and so am I," Kallen said kneeling down next to Jeremiah.
"I don't understand," she said before a blue light shot out from Jeremiah. Then after a few moments Nunnally looked surprised as she could see.
"I'm sorry about this," Kallen said activating her geass as the red light surrounded Nunnallys eyes.
"Nunnally," Lelouch said looking worried as she locked shocked. Then after a few moments she took a breath and looked around.
"Where am I, Kallen your okay," Nunnally said before looking confused, "But why are you back in uniform," she said before looking surprised to see Lelouch.
"Lelouch," she said smiling, "It really is you," she said holding out her hand.
"Yes, I'm so glad your alright," Lelouch said holding it as he shut his eyes looking relieved.
Kallen put a hand on his shoulder to comfort him. Knowing he had almost lost her during the other timeline.
"Big brother whats wrong," Nunnally said.
"Its hard to explain my lady, but all of us along with others have travelled back in time," Jeremiah said standing back up.
"Im sorry Nunnally, I have a lot to explain to you," Lelouch said looking at his sister. Now ready to tell her everything.
