This is third in the series, following An Uncertain Future and Healing. The guys are on their way back to NY. Although the bounty on Bucky's head has been cancelled, he's still wanted by most law enforcement agencies on the planet. Steve is committed to bringing Bucky in from the cold. Bucky just knows that he needs to stop killing, whatever the cost to himself.

67. Chapter 67

The next morning, Tony called Bucky to the lab for another "quick look" at his prosthetic arm.

On his own, and eager to share what Bucky had done to Hydra, Steve tracked Natasha down at the shooting range, figuring she would appreciate the joke, and the justice.

"UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders, CARE, ASPCA, Wounded Warriors…" She fell silent, read through the rest of the donation list, then handed it back with a shrug.

"If it makes him feel good to help people, fine. But if he's looking for absolution, that's not possible for people like us. Understanding, maybe. Forgiveness, never."
