ON WITH THE CHAPTERRRR?!
Chapter 23
Kyo still doesn't remember…. At least it seems like he doesn't. I entered the room to check up on him. He seemed to be awake; he didn't even notice me enter. He seemed to be deep in thought as he looked up at the ceiling. He remembers?
"Kyo," I called out to him. He looked over to me in shock and attempted to sit up,
"Hatori?" He frowned looking a little shocked
"Hm," I nodded in response "How do you feel now?" I asked helping him sit up, He frowned hating the help,
"..." He didn't respond, I sighed and pulled a chair over to sit by him
"...You seemed to have something on your mind though," I asked, If he won't tell me directly then I'll just have to ask this way.
"...What… What happened?" He asked looking at me with an expression that was unreadable,
"Do you not remember?" I held back my sadness,
"... I do… At least I think…" He answered looking confused
"Right," He seemed to be deep in thought. I leaned back in my chair. Kyo clutched his head looking frustrated.
"Why- What? Why does my head feel weird?!" He yelled leaping forward and grabbing me by the shirt. So he doesn't, As I thought.
"Amnesia… Or something along those lines," I frowned looking straight at him,
"That's not possible!" He let go of me and looked down to the floor in denial. I began to say something when...
"Why isn't it?" Shigure walked into the room and leaned against the wall, Why is he- Oh… I remembered our conversation earlier and frowned.
"..." Kyo put his head in his arms and moaned in frustration.
"Remember something then?"
"Shigure-"
"Something important, There's something important… I've forgotten…" He looks terrible. I looked between Shigure and the door and motioned him to get out. It was then that I noticed Tohru walk past. She stopped outside the room and peeked in.
"Get out," I sighed, Shigure laughed and left. On his way out he smiled at Tohru who looked flustered. He patted her on the head and left.
"Tohru," I said, She jumped slightly and poked her head in the room,
"Yes?" She smiled looking embarrassed slightly
"Come in," I laughed. Kyo looked up slightly. She timidly stepped in the room.
"...Kyo kun… How are you?" Tohru smiled after hesitating a little, The air seems tense. It is tense. Kyo frowned and responded with:
"Fine, How's your… your...arm?" He seemed to be growing frustrated
"It's great! See!" She smiled waving her arm around and pretending she was fine, despite the obvious pain on her face.
"Tohru you shouldn't do that," I frowned getting up and stopping her
"Sorry," She smiled sheepishly. I led her over to the chair that I had previously used and made her sit down.
"I have to go do something important, Would you mind looking over things for me?" I asked Tohru. She nodded and smiled.
"I don't mind, Go ahead," I nodded and turned to face Kyo
"Don't. Get out of that bed," Kyo frowned
"I-" He began to protest
"You're still really weak, Give it some time," I sighed as I left.
XOXOXOXOXOX
The sun is shining today. This is a good thing, It's been raining for the past few days so a little sun is good, Especially for Kyo. The rain would've caused him to be weaker than ever. I looked back towards the house. I wonder if anything good will happen… Hmm? I thought I saw Ushio just now… I looked back towards the house where I 'thought' I saw her. Maybe not. I opened the car door and was about to get in when I heard a voice
"Umm," She spoke in a whisper and it seemed to slip out by accident. I turned to face her. I knew I saw her.
"Ushio, Did you need something?" I asked, She seemed to be acting quite strangely. She hesitated and nodded, then shook her head.
"No, it's nothing," She smiled as I tilted my head in confusement
"Ah, Okay, I guess I'll get going th-"
"Haa san wait!" I was interrupted by Shigure who came running out of nowhere. I frowned and got into the car quickly. That over there is a idiot I don't want to deal with.
"Goodbye Ushio," I prepared to drive off when Shigure latched onto the window.
"Wait,"
"What is it?" I frowned which caused him to smile
"Can you do me a favour?" He grinned. No… Is what I want to say but,
"Yes," I sighed for the hundredth time that day.
"Could you get me this book?"
"Fine,"
"Thank you!" He yelled as I drove off. I looked back and saw Shigure and Ushio exchanged a glance. Strange….
Why do I have to go back to the Main House so soon? I don't know how Akito will react. Especially after yesterday…. I touched my forehead and winced slightly. I don't think I need anymore injuries…. I pulled up outside the Main House and went in. Upon entering I noticed Momiji, who then ran over to me.
"Hari! Hari!"
"Momiji, Hello,"
"How's Kyo? And Tohru?! How are they?" He jumped up and down impatiently
"Getting better," I said vaguely, Momiji sighed in annoyance
"Hariiiiiii," He sighed
"It's hard to be exact," I began, "I don't know much yet. I know Tohru's recovering faster than Kyo," Momiji nodded understanding the situation.
"So whatcha' doing here?"
XOXOXOXOXOX
I slowly opened the door to Akito's room, unsure of what to expect. To my surprise he looked over to me but didn't do anything.
"Hatori, How are you today?" He asked looking out of the window. Small talk?
"Well, How are you?" I asked going over to him. He seemed to be different today…
"..." He didn't reply so I busied myself checking him instead. He's weaker than yester-
"Have you eaten?" I frowned, He looked up and smiled slightly
"Everything tastes disgusting," He sighed looking annoyed. What? This is strange… So strange…
"..." I sighed, "You have to eat, You're going to be even weaker if you don't," He didn't speak but instead, turned and looked out the window again. I took this as my cue to leave. Upon exiting I realised that Akito was different, nicer? This could be a good thing, Maybe the curse will- No. It can't be this easy… I walked down the hallway trying to avoid looking at the gazes that were cast towards me. I hope everyone's fine… I hope Kyo didn't push himself.
Getting into the car I remembered something. Shigure asked me to get him a book… I got in and drove to the bookstore. Today was truly a beautiful day. Despite being in the middle of winter the day felt like spring. The trees usually look erie and lifeless, but today despite being bare and not having any leaves they seemed pleasant… Who knows why. Something just feels nicer. There was still some snow on the branches on the trees and on the ground. Speaking of snow, it was said that it would snow today. That would be strange considering it's so sunny right now. I pulled up outside the bookstore. Now to quickly get that book and go back. I walked over to the store and reached out to open the door when…
CRASH!
A crashing sound came from inside the store and then a few… A string of curses were heard. I went in to see a pile of books and Mayu looking rather displeased.
"Stupid-" She muttered but stopped when she noticed me. Her eyes widened slightly. "Hatori?!"
"Hello," I spoke calmly
"Why are you here?"
"Shigure wanted a book," She growled when I mentioned Shigure
"What book was it?" She asked as I began to tell her what he wanted. She nodded and began to look for it. She obviously didn't know what she was doing.
"So… How are you?" She began,
"I'm well, You?" I wanted to ask if she knew…
"Great! It's not like I could be on holiday somewhere instead of looking after this place," She sighed in annoyance. I want to ask her about-
"Kana, Do you-" She hesitated
"..."
"That night, She remembered or something happened… She suddenly remembered you?" She looked up and turned to face me,
"...Yes,"
"The next day…" She stopped and looked down, Wait what happened the next day?
"What happened?" I asked growing slightly impatient,
"She… She forgot again?!" She yelled, tears began to well up in her eyes. I was taken aback. She forgot again? That's good. I sighed in relief. "How is that possible?"
"I… don't know," I replied, She moved closer to me, looking angry.
"Why do you look so relieved?" She asked growing impatient as well,
"She won't get hurt, She better off without me," I smiled slightly. She began to cry,
"But that's not fair!" She cried,
"How is it not fair?," I sighed and patted her on the head
"Everything works out for her but not you…" No it didn't? I was confused.
"What do you-"
"Nothing happened that night, no one died… Someone got things confused…" Oh, so she did remember because of her sadness. It made her overwhelmed…?
"That's good then," Everything worked out fine,
"But-"
"Even if I did do something, What good will it make? It's hopeless," I sighed walking over the the bookcase and reaching up to grab the book. She grabbed my arm and frowned.
"Are you happy?" She refused to look away
"Of-"
"With this? Not being with her?!"
"Yes," I remained straight faced as I turned to face her
"You're a liar," She snapped, "But... I can't do anything about it," She sighed looking irritated.
"I don't know what to say to that,"
"Out," She said looking both annoyed and exhausted.
"The book?" I asked waving the book in the air
"Take it…"
"Right, Goodbye," I was about to leave when I heard her speak behind me.
"You should come by more often," I smiled and nodded
"I will," And with that I left.
XOXOXOXOXOX
I got back to Shigure's house expecting peace. Hah.
"SHIGURE! Get back here!" His editor was kneeling outside the house crying. I sighed. It's meant to be quiet here.
What is this chapter?
To be honest I have no clue…
Why do I keep writing as Hatori? His character isn't even accurate. I made him too sarcastic. Oops...
Uh hope you liked it?
I decided that the whole mess that I created before was just a bit too much. And after reading the manga again I decided that Hatori and Mayu actually are a good pairing. ^^'
SUPERR SORRY FOR THE WAIT
Kyoru next chapter!
Hopefully, ^^
Byeee
Oh oh
