Previously on a Heya Love Story...

Just after 8:30 pm, Heather's phone started ringing and it was an unknown number. She hated these but decided to answer anyway. Naya looked over at her as she hit the speakerphone and held the phone out in front of her. Sophia was sound asleep between the two of them.

"Hello?" Heather said into the phone.

"Heather?" A voice that sounded terribly raspy almost like a person would sound if they've been screaming and yelling all day. This person barely had a voice anymore.

"Who is this?" Heather asked as Naya looked at the phone with a puzzled yet spooked-out expression. Nothing else was said on the other line.

They heard a lot of muffled shuffling around and what seemed like faint yelling in the background. Naya and Heather looked at each other both alarmed and confused before the line went dead and Heather looked at the screen to see that the call was ended.

Who was this? Whoever that was on the phone knew exactly who Heather was...

March 10th, 2019 (Same Day)

"What the hell?" Naya breathed out while gazing at the phone in her wife's hands. She was getting really freaked out at this point. If the caller wouldn't have said anything she would have just presumed it was a butt dial or a wrong number, but that voice knew exactly who Heather was. It was almost as if you could hear the smirk in this voice through the phone which sent a shiver down Naya's spine.

"That was weird as fuck..." Heather admitted quietly while knitting her eyebrows together in confusion. Heather shook her head as she placed her iPhone on the side table and plugged it into the charging cord. When Heather twisted back around she glanced down at her sleeping baby girl and placed a gentle kiss on her head and adjusted her multi-patterned quilt to cover her shoulders so only her head was poking out. Heather smiled at the little Naya lookalike before gazing at her wife who was fiddling with the end of her still unwashed hair from yesterday. Naya couldn't wait until she was allowed to wash her hair.

Just by glancing at Naya and observing her facial expressions, Heather could tell right away that her soulmate was particularly troubled by that phone call.

"Talk to me, beautiful. Let me know what's on your mind, love." Heather asked softly and laid on her left side so she was facing Naya who was stuck laying on her back which was always the least favorite sleeping position. She always slept on her stomach or her side. Heather brought her left hand over and was tenderly stroking her wife's cheek with the back of her hand.

"I can't explain it. Something just felt off about that call. There was more to it than just a wrong number, spam, prank, or butt dial." Naya confessed quietly and Heather knew what she was talking about because it felt odd to her too.

"I agree. It was strange but you're okay. Do you feel unsafe, do you want to call the officers and tell them about it?" Heather asked and Naya tried to shift closer to her wife before wincing in pain. She seemed to forget that she couldn't just scoot closer to her wife whenever she wanted. Heather motioned for her to stay still and she shifted higher on the pillow so she and Naya's heads were touching with their daughter safely in between them.

"I don't know. I'm probably just doped up on meds and completely overreacting..." Naya mumbled. Heather lifted her chin while she rubbed her thumb gently back and forth under her bottom lip.

"Okay, my love, one thing I have learned the past two days is to always trust your gut instinct. We were given those intuitions for a purpose and we all need to trust that more. If I would have trusted mine we wouldn't be here right now..." Heather sighed while shaking her head before laying it completely back on the pillow so she was staring at the ceiling.

"Baby, stop blaming yourself for this! Some idiot ran a red light, nobody but him is at fault and most certainly not you!" Naya asserted sternly hoping to get through to Heather who she knew was beating herself up over this entire accident.

"I didn't listen to my gut and you got hurt. I will never forgive myself. I easily could have told you to stay and you would have and this wouldn't have happened!" Heather declared as she wiped the tears that were falling from her light blue eyes. Naya peeks over since she couldn't sit up or lay on her side and whispered to her wife while holding her hand out for Heather to take.

"Baby, look at me. This is NOT your fault. This was one of those freak things and I just happened to be in the driver's way. If it wasn't me it would have been somebody else. If it makes you feel better, anytime you have one of those off days we will listen next time. It's not like you have those days often so when you do we will take them seriously, especially if it involves Sophia..." Naya said and Heather immediately nodded. That definitely made her feel better.

"Really?" Heather breathed and Naya nodded with a smile. "Ok, that helps a lot, especially about Soph, if anything...Naya I couldn't handle if anything ever happened to this little girl." Heather said while brushing her daughter's long black hair behind her back. Naya looked into Heather's eyes and nodded.

"I know baby, she is one-in-a-million and she's ours. I never thought I could love somebody else so purely and eternally until I made this little girl with you." Naya spoke softly. Heather couldn't help but lean over her daughter to place a kiss on her wife's lips.

"Did you want me to let those officers know about that call?" Heather asked as she put a few loose strands of black hair behind Naya's ear. "Trust your gut on this baby, what is it telling you?" Heather urged softly.

Naya sighed gently so her chest wouldn't hurt and she looked at Heather who was giving her the softest non-judgmental smile letting her know whatever she wanted to do was okay with her.

"Don't kill me if this is completely overdramatic, but can we call and just let them know?" Naya murmured as she picked at her nails nervously. Heather reaches over to still her hands and places a kiss on her knuckles and leans up to kiss her wife's lips.

"You don't have to ask me twice. Let me go into the side room and call that way I'm away from little ears who don't need to overhear this. I don't want her to wake up and hear me talking about this kind of stuff. It would just scare her." Heather says and Naya nods slowly. It was foolish how clingy she is with Heather and Sophia right now but it was as if she physically had to be connected with them. I mean she has been through hell so she can't be too harsh on herself.

"I'll be right in there, my love," Heather spoke as she pointed to the side room. "This shouldn't take too long," Heather whispered and Naya nodded. Heather swung her feet off the bed and put on her slippers and walked around to the other side of the bed and leaned over to place another soft kiss on her wife's lips. "I'm so damn proud of you," Heather confesses while starting into the stunning brown eyes she loves so much. "My gorgeous, fearless, powerful, and brave wife." Heather smiled before bopping her wife on the nose playfully and winking before walking into the side room with the business card that the officers had left with them.

About seven minutes later, Heather came back into the room and inserted the business card back in her wallet for safekeeping, and carefully made her way back into the bed being mindful not to jostle her wife.

Naya was anxiously waiting to hear what they said and Heather knew that just by looking at her. Heather held out her hand Naya connected her left with Heather's right before Heather explained the call she was just on.

"Okay. So the first thing Officer Mac said after I explained exactly what was said and what we both heard on the call was that they or any other precincts in the city haven't received any other reports of anyone getting a call like that. He explained it might have been an isolated incident where it was just a one-time random, bizarre call." Heather explained and Naya sighed

"Ok..." Naya said knowing Heather wasn't finished.

"...but there's another possibility that it could be targeted," Heather whispered hesitantly and Naya instinctively sat up and cried out in pain because she moved way too quickly. Heather instantly sat up and settled her wife back down into the bed who already had large tears in her eyes from both the pain and shock of what Heather had just said. This new possibility brought an entirely new level of fear over Naya. Who would do this?

"Honey! Easy, beautiful. I've got you, my love!" Heather said urging Naya to make an effort to calm down again but she was such a mess and her sobs were shaking her broken ribs and tensing her incisions. The pain felt like she was being ripped apart.

"Heather, don't leave me and Sophia! Please don't! We need you! Don't leave! What if this person is trying to hurt me or someone intentionally?! Oh, God..." Naya says shaking as she was crying. Heather was furious and heartbroken that someone would do this to her wife. Two completely different emotions but directed at the same thing. One thing was for sure, there was no way in hell that anyone would hurt or come near her girls.

"My love, I will NOT leave you and I will never leave Sophia. That's not anything you will ever have to worry about. Nobody will ever hurt you two. EVER." Heather said with determination and perseverance.

Naya continued to cry feeling completely terrified, overwhelmed, and not to mention in pain. She hurt everywhere, she was utterly exhausted, and she just felt broken. Heather had an idea and she separated herself from Naya which frazzled Naya but Heather placed a comforting kiss on her wife's lips. She swings her legs off the bed and runs to the on-suite to grab the four extra pillows. Just having Heather gone for those five seconds caused Naya's pulse to rise.

Heather came back with four extra fluffy bed pillows and crawled back onto the bed from her side. She slowly and carefully helped Naya sit up who was wincing in pain.

"Wh...what are you do...doing?" Naya stammered out while trying to breathe through the pain. Heather quickly took two fluffy pillows and placed them against the headboard before moving Sophia over towards the end of the bed. Heather made sure the bed railing was up so that Sophia wouldn't fall off. Naya didn't want her baby girl that far from her and Sophia was just cuddled up next to her. Her mind was going a mile a minute. What the officers told Heather really unsettled her.

Heather came behind Naya and snaked her leg around Naya's other side so Heather's legs were on either side of her wife. Heather then laid back against the pillows getting comfy before putting two plush pillows side by side against her chest and helping her wife lean back ever-so-slowly. Naya sighed as much as she could while Heather tucked the large knit blanket from home around them. Naya was surrounded by Heather and she finally felt safe.

"I love you so much..." Naya tearfully said while Heather kissed her head not even caring about the dried blood or anything else. Naya would be able to get cleaned up tomorrow hopefully. The doctors had to make sure there weren't any infections from the vehicle metal piercing her skin before they would bathe her properly.

Heather was just about to pull her daughter closer to her when Naya pointed sadly at Sophia who was so far away from them. She didn't know that Heather was just about to bring her over. Heather kissed her wife's cheek and leaned over just enough not to jostle her wife and scoop her daughter and slide her close with her strong muscular arm. Sophia was sound asleep with her legs tucked up in a fetal position.

Heather brought Sophia so she was snuggled against her side and put a pillow behind her back so she felt secure and safe. Heather fixed her blanket and bunny so they were snuggled and wrapped around her. Heather had one arm around her daughter combing through her hair while her other arm was lightly wrapped around Naya's waist. She put her hand underneath the cotton gown and slowly started drawing shapes with feather light pressure and it was just enough to make Naya moan in relief at how good that felt. It was such a good distraction from the pain she was feeling from her stomach wound.

"I miss this..." Naya said barely audible she was speaking so softly. Heather placed her palm flat on her belly.

"What's that beautiful?" Heather said kissing her wife's shoulder.

"Nevermind," Naya said bashfully looking down at her stomach where Heather's hands were.

"No, sweetheart, talk to me. You know you can tell me anything." Heather said soothingly

"I miss feeling your hands there," Naya said embarrassingly. "I loved carrying your child. It was hard at times but I'll never forget it." Naya said and Heather smiled wildly before she frowned thinking of this x-ray in the morning. Heather hoped everything would turn out alright.

"My love, whenever you are ready for another baby, we will have another one of our perfect babies. This summer we should really talk to Sophia. She will be four and she's crazy smart. We will see what she thinks about it, okay?" Heather said and Naya looked back at her wife.

"Baby are you serious?" Naya asked almost shocked as if she didn't expect that answer. Heather looked back at her while still drawing shapes on her stomach.

"Without a doubt, that's not even a question. Having babies with you is the second thing in my life I'm absolutely sure of." Heather says confidently and Naya looks over at her and raises an eyebrow.

"What's the first?" Naya questions.

"You. The love of my life that carries my children. Without whom none of it would even be possible." Heather says kissing her wife on the shoulder. Naya looks over and smiles with her infectious cheek-bunching dimpled grin that makes Heather's heart want to do flips. Heather wipes a tear and now it was Naya's turn to look at her questioningly.

"Baby?" Naya said turning her head to look at her wife.

Heather wipes another tear from her eye before lightly trailing her fingers over her wife's arms and stomach.

"There were several times over the last couple days that I never thought I would see that beautiful smile ever again. Naya I thought I lost you more than once. I can't...I can't live without you. I can't live through a phone call like that ever again. My entire world stopped. I don't even remember what the hell happened, someone else would have to tell you because I sure as hell don't remember..." Heather confesses as tears stream down her eyes. Naya was silent as she stares at her wife and wipes her porcelain cheeks as they continue to shed tears. "I love you so deeply, Naya. I will keep you safe. My entire heart, soul, and body will protect every part of you and Sophia from now on, you have my word." Heather finished and Naya let a tear slide down and kissed her wife on the lips. She laid back against the pillows on her wife's chest.

"Heather, thank you. For everything." Naya whispered and crossed her arms over Heather's which was carefully placed on her stomach. Heather's other arm protectively around their daughter. "I'm here because of you and Sophia. You two are my entire world. Never ever doubt that." Naya says and places another kids on her wife's lips.

"Thank you, my love. You're safe with me. I won't let you go. I'm right here. Close your eyes beautiful. I love you so much." Heather whispered and Naya smiled before closing her eyes. She knew she was safe only in Heather's arms.

"You're everything, baby. Thank you for holding me. I love you with everything I am." Naya said

March 11th, 2019 (2 days since crash)

It was just after 6:00 am when the hospital door opened and Claire (nurse) walked in with some more pain medicine since Naya was due for another dosage. The first thing Claire noticed was how close the three of them were sleeping, they were always so damn snuggly everytime she came in. She was annoyed, to say the least. She saw Heather holding Naya who was sleeping soundly against her hot wife while their adorable daughter was snuggled into their side. Heather's arm was around both Naya and Sophia. Heather was just starting to open her eyes as Claire came in and she looked over at the nurse who was grabbing Naya's chart from its spot next to the computer.

"I brought Naya some more pain medicine," Claire said while she injected the medicine into Naya's IV. Heather kissed her wife on the shoulder while Claire was injecting the medicine hoping that this would help her stay asleep a little longer. She slept well last night but Heather would still love to see her get a couple more hours. These last few days were horrible and with everything Naya has been through the last couple of days she deserves some good sleep.

"Good, she needs the sleep," Heather said while stroking her wife's stomach over her gown and instantly being reminded of the conversation they had last night. She glanced at Sophia thinking how amazing it would be to have more little kids like her in this world.

Naya's getting her x-ray done at 11:00 am. Naya just thinks it's to check to make sure her wound is healing properly but she doesn't know there's a question as to if anything is damaged and if having any more children is even a possibility for them. At the time of the accident she was way too emotionally fragile to have a conversation like that and she already had the scare with her pulse spiking so that wasn't a risk they were willing to take.

Heather didn't realize Naya had been awake the whole time and just had her eyes closed until she squirmed a little and repositioned.

"Mhmm, thanks for holding me, last night baby." Naya hummed at the feeling of Heather's hand on her stomach. Heather leaned over and smiled.

"What are you doing up, beautiful. Get some more sleep! I'm right here, love," Heather says as she places a soft kiss on her neck.

"Alright, that's done." Claire cut in, "Call if you need anything." Claire hastily said before walking out and shutting the door behind her.

"She seemed a bit edgy this morning. What's that about?" Heather asked confused

"You really don't see it, do you?" Naya asked with a soft giggle while opening her eyes.

Heather furrowed her brow, "See what?"

Naya shook her head with a smile, "Baby, she likes you. Like ALOT."

"Wha…no" Heather adamantly shook her head

"Yes, baby, she absolutely does" Naya replied

"Really?" Heather replied and Naya nodded with her head twisted to look at Heather, "Well she's shit out of luck" Heather said

"Yeah, she is" Naya blushed and connected their lips just as the door opened once again.

Claire walked back in, "I just wanted to check in on you." Claire asked.

"I'm fine" Naya replied, "My wife is taking good care of me, aren't you baby?" Naya said making Claire slightly grimace in jealousy. It was extremely subtle but both of the girls caught it.

Heather looked at Naya and smiled softly, "You better believe I'm taking care of both of my beautiful girls." Heather replied making sure this Claire chick knows she's the farthest thing from available.

Claire nodded and walked back out shutting the door behind her.

"You are fucking adorable," Heather whispered grinning

Naya looked down and blushed, "That was really sweet what you said to her baby," Naya said

"Well, people need to know that we're off the market, especially you" Heather smirked

"Ha! You're the one to worry about. You get hit on all the time." Naya sighed thinking about girls going after her wife.

"Naya, I would never…" Heather replies

"No! I know. I didn't mean it like that." Naya replies instantly, "What I meant was that you have a lot of fans, and they are usually not very subtle. I didn't mean to insinuate that you would…" Naya finishes and Heather turns her neck and leans forward so they can see each other better.

"That's good. I would burn myself alive before I would even entertain the idea of cheating on the best thing that's ever happened to me." Heather replied sincerely, "Has anyone ever cheated on you, my love?" she asked curiously.

They've talked about their exes but never really went into tons of detail. Naya always seemed extra uncomfortable when the topic came up. She noticed Naya tense a bit and Heather placed a kiss on her shoulder. "You're okay," Heather whispered reassuringly.

"I've had four relationships total. You're the only one that's never cheated on me. I've been through a lot of shit." Naya replied looking down at their intertwined hands, "Before you, I was treated worse than the dirt on the bottom of someone's shoe. One of them even tried cheating on me with Diana at the cast hang out before we even started filming the first season" Naya sadly admits.

Heather wants to break things in full-blown anger at the thought of anyone or anything hurting the love of her life.

"He's got to be the stupidest person in the world," Heather said furiously. Naya looks back at her wife.

"I know right? Di would never…" Naya says shaking her head but Heather speaks up right away.

"No...I mean to think that he could find any better" Heather answered seriously, "He's a fool."

Naya smiled and blushed as she played with Heather's fingers that were over her stomach, "Baby…"

"Seriously, love, you're remarkable. I've known that since the second I saw you for the first time."

"Ok, you're killing me, baby," Naya whispered, looking down at their entangled hands

"Sorry, I just like saying things that I've been thinking about. Sometimes I just say things out of nowhere." Heather responded shyly

"It's ok. You're just really sweet, baby." Naya blushed leaning back into her wife's embrace feeling like she could fall asleep again.

"I plan to spoil you the rest of our lives, even if it's just with words," Heather said while running her hand over her wife's arm and back over her stomach.

"Well, you're definitely good with your words, baby" Naya answered letting out a hum as she was feeling more content right now than she has in two days.

"I try" Heather shrugged with a small smirk causing Naya to manage a small giggle. "Go back to sleep, beautiful. I'll be right here holding you both." Heather assured and Naya drifted off feeling safe in the arms of someone she will never have to question the love of.

Around 8:30 am both of her girls were still asleep, however, about thirty minutes ago Sophia had gotten up to use the bathroom and came right back to bed except this time she had the brilliant idea to bring the two pillows that were behind her and stack them next to her mommies where she was laying before she climbed and sat on them before grabbing her blankie and bunny. She uses two other pillows to put behind her and she rested against them. Now she was much higher up she was able to lay her head on her momma's shoulder and her little hand resting on Naya's chest over her heart from where she laid in front of Heather. Sophia snuggled inside her neck like she always did and fell right back to sleep. Heather brought her arm around and wrapped it securely around her baby girl and wanted to cry at the feeling of having her two most perfect girls snuggled up to her.

Just after 9:00 am Heather woke up to a quiet knock on the door and it opened to reveal Antonio, Susan, Andrew, and Yolanda. Heather looked over and smiled as they shuffled in and both Antonio and Andrew began shaking their heads because of course Heather would manage to still hold Naya even in a hospital bed. Yolanda and Susan were already getting their phones out and taking pictures. Luckily, her beautiful girls slept through the clicks and adoring squeals from their moms.

"Okay, that's the most precious thing in the world..." Yolanda smiled. Heather looked at both of her girls and kissed their heads.

"How did she sleep last night?" Antonio asked as he sipped his to-go cup of coffee while taking a seat in the chair across from the bed.

"We had something a bit odd happen last night and it kinda freaked her out big time so I went from laying beside her to holding both of my girls the whole night but she slept well so that's what's important. I'm so glad she's catching up on sleep. I'm glad both of them are, they've both been through hell." Heather answered. Susan and Yolanda smiled but remembered the beginning of Heather's sentence.

"Wait, what do you mean something odd happened that freaked her out? What was it?" Andrew asked and all four parents looked back at Heather expectantly. Heather went on to explain the call they received, the feelings they both had afterward, and the call Heather made to the police where they mentioned it could be a random act or a targeted act.

Antonio and Andrew look upset and unsettled. Susan and Yolanda had their hands up to their face looking horrified. They were as nervous and scared as Naya and the thought of someone directly targeting their Naya was horrifying and unbelievable.

"Oh good, lord!" Yolanda sighs and gets up off the chair and paces the room with her arms crossed feeling terrified for her daughter. Susan got up as well and started a pot of coffee. She had to focus on something or she would drive herself crazy.

Andrew and Antonio were talking quietly in the corner when Antonio saw Naya's eyes open.

"Well good morning, Mija," Antonio says while both of the older women walk over to the bed. Heather lifts and tilts her head forward to see for herself that her wife is awake.

"Mhwttmit? (mhmm, what time is it?)" Naya sleepily mumbled out making everyone shake their heads. Some things never change.

"Honey use your words...we don't know..." Yolanda replied and Naya tiredly laid her head sideways against her wife who kissed the top of her black hair with a smile.

"It's just after 9:30 am, my love. Take your time. Are you in pain at all or still doing okay from your 6:00 am dose?" Heather asked quietly and the four older adults looked at Heather mind-boggled at how she understood the mess of letters Naya mumbled out.

"It's starting to wear off I can tell but I'm not in terrible pain yet..." Naya mumbled and Heather had already pressed the call button.

The older female nurse named Donna whom they both love came in and greeted the family.

"Good morning to all of you. How's the patient doing today?" Donna asks. Heather caresses her wife's stomach gently before kissing her cheek.

"She had a really good night's sleep for the first time last night so I'm so grateful. She got a dose around 6:00 am. She has those X-rays at 11:00 am but says the edge is starting to come back. Is she able to get another dose before the X-rays?" Heather inquires and the nurse happily nods.

"She sure can. I'll grab that." Donna says and Heather looks up at her before she left the room,

"Thank you Donna" Hearher smiled and she nodded back before going out to grab Naya's meds.

"Baby, it's not horrible yet, I could have waited unt..." Naya started but Hearher halted Naya's next words.

"No, you couldn't. I'm not having you sit in pain for a second longer than you need to. The meds are here to help you, my love." Heather said as Donna came back in and administered the medicine in Naya's IV before grabbing her chart above the computer to update it.

"Alright, sweetheart, you should feel much better in a few minutes," Donna said before giving everyone a friendly smile before leaving the room.

"You're right as always, thank you, baby," Naya said softly, she was starting to wake up a little more so her words were actually making sense.

"I don't care who's right just as long as you're okay. Thank you for being honest with me and telling me you were hurting." Heather said and they both turn their heads when they hear and see Sophia sitting up and rubbing her eyes.

"Stmontmeeee? (Is it morning time)" Sophia mumbled looking like she was about ready to tip right back over and fall asleep again.

"Yep, that's Naya's daughter..." Susan laughs along with the rest of them.

Heather giggles at her two non-morning girls and answers Sophia's question. "Yes, my little love it's morning time." Heather smiles and kisses her head as Sophia rubs her eyes.

"Ist bwkfsssst time? (Is it breakfast time)" Sophia asked speaking slightly more clearly. She was exactly like Naya and after about five minutes they spoke in normal sentences where the rest of the world could understand them once again.

"It can be if you're hungry my little love." Heather smiles.

"Nieta, would you like to come with grandpa and me to grab some coffee and you can get breakfast. It's pancake day down there and I know you love those..." Antonio said and Sophia's eyes widened and she nodded. Before she said yes she looked at her moms to make sure it was okay. Heather could tell how hesitant Naya was to let her go and she kissed Naya's head before looking back to their daughter.

Hey my little love, can you go have grandma and abuela help you change into your clothes for the day while I talk to mami, grandpa, and abuelo quick?" Heather asked and the little girl nodded and slid off the bed onto the bench before running to the bedroom followed by Yolanda and Susan.

"Hey, beautiful, look at me..." Heather whispered and waited for her wife to slowly look up at her. "Honey, I told them about the phone call, police, and everything else. I wouldn't have even considered allowing her to leave this room without me if they weren't aware of that. We also trust our fathers with her, right?" Heather says softly and Naya sighs and nods before clutching Heather and looking over at her dad and Andrew.

"Do not let go of her. I'm serious. After what the police told us I've been a nervous wreck. If Sophia's not with me or Heather, especially Heather, I freak out." Naya admits with a shaky breath and the men nod.

"Exactly what my wife said, please don't let her go, this doesn't mean she's off a few feet away and you just have your eyes on her, this means physically not letting her go. Please know this has nothing to do with your ability to take care of her, that's never been a question, but until my wife and I know what the hell is going on, we can't take a single chance, the only reason I'm even allowing this today is so I can talk to my wife before her x-ray in an hour and Sophia deserves to enjoy a good breakfast." Heather said and the men nodded as Sophia came out in her Adidas tracksuit with her hair in a high pony looking exactly like a shorter replica of Naya.

"I'm ready!" Sophia smiled

"Alright, kiddo," Andrew says as Heather holds Naya securely from their place on the bed.

"Oh, hold on grandpa and abuelo!" Sophia said before she crawls up and bench and onto the bed.

"Mami, you look a little sad. I don't have to go if you don't want me to." Sophia said sweetly making the girls smile.

"Honey you go have breakfast with your grandpa and abuelo. Mami doesn't mind. What are the rules though?" Naya asked wanting to make sure the rules were clear for their little girl.

"No walking away. I have to keep holding their hands. If I see something that makes me scared I tell abuelo and grandpa super fast...oh! and always remember my manners." Sophia said triumphantly. Heather and Naya couldn't help but grin at this little girl.

"Good job my little love. Remember the rules and be a super nice girl." Heather smiled and Sophia grabbed her blankie and stood on her knees and laid it over Naya.

"Here mami, cuddle with blankie while I'm gone and it will be like your cuddling with me. Bunny is also going to stay here with you too. Do you know the numbers for abuelo and grandpa's phones?" Sophia asked while the four grandparents looked on. Naya looked curious but nodded

"Of course we do and they have mommies numbers too," Naya explains.

"Yay! Ok, mami if you start to miss me or need me, call them and I'll come back but I won't run, i'll hold their hands but push them to go faster, okay?" Sophia said being the little caretaker she is and at that moment she went from Naya's lookalike, to exactly like Heather.

"You're the sweetest, my baby girl. I love you so much." Naya whispered, she refused to start bawling this early in the morning.

"I love you and momma more. You'll do super great for your pictures of your tummy! Be super strong and then I'll snuggle you when you get back, okay?" Sophia says and Naya smiles and nods just as Sophia leans over and gently hugs her mami. "I love you mami. All the way to the moon." Sophia says before kissing Naya on the cheek and forehead. Naya blushes at her incredibly sweet little girl.

"I love you so much, my beautiful girl. I can't wait to snuggle with you once I get back." Naya says. Sophia smiles and shows her dimples before hugging Heather and kissing her cheek.

"I love you, momma! Take super care of mami, okay?! I won't be long but I gotta get a pancake!" Sophia insists and the girls laugh and shake their heads.

"I love you too baby girl, you go enjoy breakfast. Don't let go of grandpa or abuelo's hand. See you very soon sweet girl." Heather says as Sophia nods and places one more kiss on their cheeks before she slides off the bed and jumps into Andrew's waiting arms.

The door was closing to the room just as Naya and Heather hear their daughter ask a very important question on the other side of the door...

"Do you think they have whipped cream here?..." they heard a high pitched raspy voice ask curiously before the door closed. Both girls let out giggles and shook their heads. God, they loved her so much. That girl could make them laugh like crazy and bawl like a baby in the same conversation.

A couple of minutes later all four women were having a cup of coffee, luckily the room had a Keurig machine so they weren't stuck drinking the less than pleasing bland hospital coffee.

It was now just after 10:20 am and Heather knew she had to talk to her wife. Yolanda and Susan took a seat on the love seat underneath the floor-to-ceiling picture window that overlooked the city.

"Alright, my love. There was something that was mentioned to me about the x-ray which, aside from checking to make sure your wound is healing properly, there is another main reason you are having this done..." Heather starts and looks over to her left where Heather is sitting next to her. Naya already has a troubled look on her face.

"Wait is something wrong?!" Naya says beginning to panic and breath more erratically.

"Hey, Hey, my love. Breathe, honey. Listen to me first before you get too worked up alright?" Heather says wrapping her arms around her wife and settling her back down. "Good job, love," Heather says as she kisses her wife on the cheek. Yolanda and Susan are still on the loveseat off the side and look over at the married couple with nervous smiles at the conversation they are about to have.

"Alright, love. So you know they are taking the x-ray to just check over your cut and make sure there's no infection and it's still healing okay from the inside right?" Heather asked softly and Naya nodded hesitantly. Heather can feel her noticeably tighten her grip. "They also have to check to make sure that when that piece of large metal cut through the skin in the place that it did, that it didn't damage anything internally..." Heather says and Naya looks at her

"Heather, what are you not telling me?" Naya says bluntly

"Love, they have to check your reproductive system to make sure nothing was damaged that would prevent us from having more babies in the future," Heather says softly. Both moms had put their coffee cups down at this point and brought their closed first hands to their mouth just praying this wouldn't be the case for this couple. It couldn't be.

"Naya froze in place. She didn't react or respond. Heather leaned over to check her face to see what expression it was holding so she knew how to help her. Suddenly Naya burst into tears and Heather somewhat expected that reaction so she opened her arms and scooted closer and just held her wife securely without applying too much pressure to her extremely tender body.

"No! Oh, God! Heather! What if..." Naya chokes out and Heather can tell the sobbing and heavy breathing is painful on her.

"Shhh. Love. I'm here and you're okay. We aren't going to think that way. We are going to go into this expecting the best and believe that's the only option for us. It has to be. We will have another baby, keep the faith, my love." Heather says softly and both of the moms wipe tears from their eyes.

"Heather...what if it's not okay? I mean our luck hasn't been great the past few days..." Naya cried out and Heather embraced her while kissing her neck.

"You are alive and getting better every day even though you may not feel or notice it, you are. Sophia is a happy and healthy little girl. We have made it out on the other side of what could have been a complete life-changing disaster. It's been a horrible few days but we are all alive and we are going to have an incredible future." Heather spoke and Naya twisted her head to look into her wife's eyes. Naya takes Heather's hands and places them both flat on her belly before taking a deep breath. Heather kisses her shoulder.

"It will happen, my love, you will carry our next little one just as beautifully as you carried our daughter," Heather said and Naya looked into her eyes and tucked her head into her wife's neck.

"We are so proud of you Mija. You have been so unbelievably strong. Have faith, my girl. Exactly what is meant to happen with happen." Yolanda says and Naya cuddles into Heather again with her hand on her stomach, hoping to once again in the future feel movement beneath her fingertips.

Just as Susan was about to say something the older female nurse Donna as well as two other nurses, as well as the X-ray technician came into the room with a wheelchair.

"Good morning Mrs. Rivera-Morris, we are here to take you for your X-rays. This should go pretty quickly and we will bring you back to the room after about fifteen or so minutes. By the end of the day, the doctor will review and determine if any further course of treatment is needed and what kind of injuries occurred. I will also have the lab send the images down to obstetrics so your OBGYN can review and confirm with the findings by the doctor in terms of your ability to carry children in the future." The doctor explains before glancing between the two girls. "Did you have any other questions for me before we wheel you over?" the male doctor asks and both Naya and Heather shook their heads. Naya had no idea what to say as the three nurses assisted her in slowly sitting up and easing Naya off the bed into the wheelchair. It was uncomfortable and extremely hard on her since every inch of her body was so stiff and tender.

Once Naya was in the wheelchair, Heather handed Naya her daughter's stuffed bunny knowing the blanket would have been way too big to take for X-rays. Naya grabbed the pink bunny that's been her daughter's favorite for the past four years and brings it up to her nose to breathe in the scent of her daughter which brought a sense of calm over her.

"Take this with you, Sophia would want you to and she would be very upset with me if she knew you were crying and I didn't give it to you. I don't need my protective Sophia who's looking out for her mami coming after me." Heather explains and Naya shyly smiles before grabbing the pink bunny that Heather hands her. "Have you seen that girl when she's protective over you? Even I'm scared..." Heather jokes making Naya blush.

"Wonder who she learned that from..." Naya smiled thinking about her two protective girls.

"I've wondered the same..." Heather shrugs and the other three look over at her with an eyebrow raised.

At 11:30 am just about a half-hour after they took Naya back for her X-rays, the nurses were rolling her back into her large hospital room. The four parents along with Sophia we're all in the room. Sophia was on the bed watching Aladdin on the iPad while the five adults chatted. They were all on pins and needles hoping for the best.

"Mami!" Sophia cheered happily when Naya was rolled back into the room. The five adults snapped their heads to the door and smiled at the injured girl before sitting up and moving a couple of the chairs back over to give the nurses and doctors plenty of room to get Naya back into bed.

Sophia had scooted all the way over in the bed and the moment they laid her back in bed Sophia leaned over and kissed her on the cheek.

"Oh mami, I missed you! I'm so happy you took bunny. Momma said you were a little sad so bunny was helping you, he's great at helping!" Sophia said and the nurses and doctor look enamored and adoringly at the little girl. "Can you give my mami some unicorn medicine so she doesn't hurt anymore? It makes me so sad to see mami's owies hurt." Sophia asks and the doctor smiles and checks her chart and sees she can have another dose if she needs more.

"How are you feeling, Naya? Would you like another dose of meds to take the edge off? It might help since you've been moved around a little this morning." Donna asks and Sophia nods.

"That's what I think thinking too cause my brain is super smart..." Sophia says tapping her head with four fingers and everyone laughs at the adorable child once again stealing the show.

"Thanks for your expertise Soph, it helps to consult with another doctor about important matters." Donna smiled and Sophia looked at Antonio.

"Abuelo, what does consult mean?" Sophia asked and Heather climbed on the bed and snuggled next to her wife as they listened to this little girl.

"It means to talk about something. So If I say...me and Sophia are going to consult about whipped cream on our pancakes... That means we are going to talk about it and come up with an answer." Abuelo explains and Sophia smiles and nods. She was super excited she learned a big word today.

"You're welcome, Donna. I would come with you but I can't see over the desk, I'm too short..." Sophia mumbles and everyone giggles. Donna looks like she's ready to take Sophia home with her. She's completely smitten with this little girl.

"Oh, sweetheart that's okay. I can go and get it and I'll be right back okay, Doctor Soph?" Donna smiled and Sophia nodded happily.

A couple of minutes later Donna came back in and the other nurses and doctors had left the room by then so it was just the four older adults, Heather, Naya, and Sophia.

"Back with the unicorn medicine." Donna announced and all the adults look over with a smile. "Doctor Sophia, are you available to help me?" Donna asks and Sophia's eyes go wide and she nods before sliding off the bed and walking over to Donna who's standing by the computer. Donna glances over at Antonio. "Dr. Rivera, can me and Sophia consult with you for a moment?" Donna says with a wink and Antonio smiles and nods.

"Abuelo! That means talk about big important doctor things!" Sophia says with her hands balled together adding a little bounce before getting back into serious doctor mode.

"Certainly, Dr. Hanson," Antonio says walking over. The other four women in the room our thoroughly enjoying this little play the two are putting on around Sophia but all they have to do is look down at their daughter and see the big smile on her face to know how much she loves this. Heather kisses her wife on the temple. "What can I do for you and Dr. Sophia?"

"Well, it appears Mrs. Rivera-Morris is due for another dose of unicorn medicine. For some reason, my hand isn't working right now." Donna says opening and closing her hand. "Since Dr. Sophia is the only one on staff who knows about unicorn medicine I need her help. Sophia has expressed she's a little short to reach so if I could have your assistance to lift Sophia that would be wonderful." Donna said and Sophia's eyes went wide and Antonio smiled knowing this was going to make his daughter's day. Antonio lifted her and held her like she was sitting in a chair so both of her hands were free and accessible.

"Alright, Dr. Sophia. See this bag of IV liquid? This tube right here is where the unicorn medicine goes and it's like a long straw." Donna informs the little girl who's watching intently as Donna points to the thin clear tube that goes from the IV bag to her mami's hand. "Come over here for a moment," Donna says and Antonio brings his granddaughter over to the counter where Donna pulls out another empty syringe and explains what she's going to do. "Dr. Sophia, I am going to place this in your mami's tube, this is called a syringe," Donna says. "Can you say syringe?" Donna finishes and looks at the little girl.

"Saaarrringee (syringe). That's a super silly word." Sophia says before repeating it a couple of times until it's much clearer. Both Antonio and Donna smile and go back to explain. "Alright, so I am going to set the syringe in place, and then what I am going to have you do is slowly push the liquid into the tube. Here just like this..." Donna says while taking the empty plastic syringe and placing Sophia's hand on the top and watching her push down steady and slow until the handle is all the way down.

"Well done! That's exactly what you need to do Neita!" Antonio praised and they walked over to the IV bag. Donna put some gloves on before picking up the syringe and connecting it with the tube. Heather was Naya was watching closely along with Yolanda. Susan was standing on the other side of the bed recording the entire thing to send to their friends.

"Alright, Soph, just like you did with the other syringe, slow and steady," Donna says and Sophia does it perfectly until it's pushed all the way down before Donna disconnected it from the tube and sealed the opening where the syringe was inserted. Donna removed her gloves and tosses them in the trash and gives her assistant a high-five.

"Well done!" Donna congratulated the little girl and Antonio set her down and she bounced up and down.

"Mami I helped you feel better! I did the unicorn medicine!" Sophia exclaimed doing the Naya dance shaking her left arm back and forth and shuffling around in a circle making Heather and Naya giggle. This child...

"I feel sooooo much better baby girl! You're such a good doctor!" Naya says cheerfully and Heather kisses her wife's cheek.

"I'm a short doctor but I'm a doctor! Abuelo why did you have to go to school? I'm not even in school yet!" Sophia said and the room laughs.

"Good question Mija. Donna and I could have saved so much money in med school..." Antonio said with a chuckle.

"Oh Soph, you're a cutie, alright, I have to finish my rounds but I will be back to check on you all soon! Thanks, Dr. Rivera, and thank you, Dr. Sophia." Donna says before opening the door and waving.

"Bye-bye Dr. Donna!" Sophia waved before she turned to Heather. "Momma...call Kurtsy...its an meeegency (emergency)," Sophia said in a serious tone. Heather looks around the room before landing on at Naya who's equally confused, and then back at her daughter who was jittering anxiously. Everyone was confused but Heather grabbed her phone and dialed Chris's number putting it on speakerphone before handing it to Sophia right away.

"Well, good morning Heather!" Chris said happily over the phone.

"It's me uncle Kurtsy!" Sophia squealed

"Sophia?! Are you alright my darling?" Chris asked and the room smiles hearing the two of them. Naya rests her head against her wifes shoulder.

"I'm super! Grandma's sending you guys a video! Watch it with everybody!" Sophia says excitedly and the crew gathers around Amber's phone as she opens their group chat and they watch Sophia being a doctor and putting the unicorn medicine in the IV.

"Soph! This means you are like super smart now!"Vanessa said.

"Hi, Nessy! I know! And I even know what consult means!" Sophia said and they all gasped. Heather and Naya we're embracing in the background. They loved their friends and how they were playing along with Sophia. This was the happiest they'd seen her in days and it made them so happy.

"Your kidding?!" Chord and Kevin said at the same time.

"Videos don't lie! Neither do hips..." Sophia said flatly and everyone on the phone and in the room burst into laughter. Fucking love this kid.

"Soph your the greatest." Amber laughed hard

"I know!" Sophia giggled. Naya and Heather watched and listened with their mouths wide open as they were shaking their head.

"Soph this is serious...do you have a wardrobe for this?!" Chris asked in a serious tone making everyone in the room raise their eyebrows in confusion.

"NO! That's why I was calling you Kurtsy!" Sophia sighed and nobody in the room was trying to keep up anymore. Once those two started talking about wardrobe they ended up blocking the rest of the world out.

"Does this mean I'll see my Sophia in blue scrubs?!" Antonio asked curiously with a smile. Sophia scowled and both she and Chris yelled from opposite ends of the phone.

"PINK!" Chris and Sophia both shouted making Antonio shake his head.

"Of course. What was I thinking?..." Antonio said

Alright, crew! Off to the fabric store! These can't be lame boring scrubs! Move it, people!" Chris shouted and Sophia smirked. She loved her uncle.

"Aww come on man!" Cory whined.

"Get up!" Chris yells to the boys. "Hey, Soph! I'm going to get these football-watching lazy boys off the couch and we will start working! I've got so many ideas!" Chris squealed and Susan laughed. She loved that man.

"Okay, uncle Kurtsy. I love you!" Sophia said sweetly.

"Love you more my darling. I'll talk to you soon." Chris said before they both hung up.

"I love uncle Kurtsy..." Sophia smiled and says to nobody in particular.

"I love him more," Susan says.

"Just what you want to hear from your wife..." Andrew mumbles taking another sip of his coffee. The others laugh. Sophia scowls at Susan and puts her hand on her hips.

"Well, it's true. I'm his favorite." Susan shrugged and Sophia was not amused. Her hands were on her hips and her head was tilted.

"What kind of doctor's outfit is he making you?" Sophia said and everyone's mouths opened except Naya's who happened to be sipping her water from the straw and spraying it all over her hospital gown the second Sophia said that.

"Oh my God!" Naya laughed somewhat painfully but for the first time, she didn't care. Heather was laughing so hard while also trying to make sure her wife was alright.

"Good one Soph!" Andrew says high-fiving the young girl

"Susan tries to sulk but is way too impressed with her granddaughter's quick wit. Can't imagine what parent she got that from...

The afternoon was very restful and Naya got several decent naps in which she swore was because of Dr. Soph's unicorn medicine. By 3:00 pm the room was full of their friends and family. They were laughing and able to joke around to get Naya's mind off being so damn sore all over.

"Hemo your phone is going off..." Jenna said handing over Heather's phone. When Heather grabbed it from Jenna she noticed it was the exact same unknown number as before with the weird caller.

"Everybody shut up. It's the same caller! Somebody record this so the police can hear. Nobody say a word!" Heather shouts sternly and everyone nervously nods. Naya is frozen beside her wife and Sophia is asleep on Kevin's shoulder.

Heather looks down at the phone and quickly picks it up so she doesn't miss it and presses the speakerphone button. Jenna presses the video record button on her phone so the police could see it. Heather grabs her wife's hand before speaking.

"Hello?" Heather says trying to sound casual and normal. She waits and hears rustling and clanking noises in the background before hearing that creepy cold raspy voice.

"Heather?" the voice said making Naya tense and start shaking.

"Who is this and why do you keep calling?" Heather asked sternly. Heather brought an arm around Naya who she could tell was freaking out. Heather kissed her wife on the side of the head. Most everyone had gotten up from their seats to stand closer to the bed so they could hear better

"It seems your wife ruined my car. My white pickup..." the voice says creepily before the line goes dead.
