March 12th, 2019

It was just after 12:30 pm in the afternoon when Susan, Yolanda, Nickayla, Ashley, Heather, Naya, and Sophia were pulling up to Naya and Heather's house on their way home from the hospital. The girls took Yolanda's SUV since the girls didn't have a car at the hospital and Yolanda was the only one who had a car seat for Sophia.

Andrew, Mychal, and Antonio are following right behind Yolanda's vehicle with all the luggage from their hospital stay in Susan's white crossover.

As they're pulling up to the driveway gate they already see several eagerly awaiting paparazzi on their street as they get closer to the house and a few paparazzi that is right outside their gate.

"Seriously?! Right outside our home?!" Heather growls and Susan shakes her head at them from the front passenger seat. She wanted so bad to smack each of them across the face for even surrounding their car after what happened when her wife.

Heather is infuriated that they have such a lack of human decency. Yolanda enters their gate code allowing the two cars in before the gate closes once again behind them. They tried to look behind them and make sure the gates were closed and sealed since there was a group of strangers outside their home with cameras just waiting to sell them out. Yolanda decided to pull the car into the garage and once the SUV was parked she instantly put the garage door back down to keep prying eyes away. She didn't want to allow these leeches to get a photo of any of her girls.

"How are you doing Mija? Still okay?" Yolanda asked looking in the backseat while putting the keys to her vehicle in her purse and Heather looked over from where she was in for middle row, their daughter's car seat was separating her from Naya.

"It hurts, I'm not going to lie, especially with the bumps and motion of the car," Naya confessed and both Heather and Sophia look troubled that their wife and mami were hurting.

Heather didn't get much sleep at all the night before because, with everything that happened with the police officer and creepy caller, she ended up holding both of her girls and slept with one eye open. Despite the safety and security of the hospital room, Heather couldn't relax her mind enough to fall asleep. She had to protect her family.

"Alright, my love, hang tight while I unbuckle Soph then I'll come around to the other side and help you out. Don't move, sweetheart." Heather says and Naya nods with a smile as she watches her wife undo the clasps of Sophia's car seat and lift her out immediately handing her to Susan. Heather folds down the seat once she is out and helps Nickayla and Ashley out of the backseat before closing the door and running over to Naya's side of the car, which this time is in the back seat.

Heather opens the backdoor and reveals her wife who had reclined the seat slightly so she wasn't sitting so upright which put more pressure on her stitches and ribs. Heather reached inside and undid the seatbelt just as Naya was about to twist and do it herself. Naya couldn't help but grin at her doting wife who was always one step ahead.

"Easy, love, and go as slow as you need to." Heather urges and slowly turns Naya so her feet are sideways in the seat and hanging out the side. Naya was cringing at the small jump she would have to make to get out of the car. Her ribs were already throbbing in anticipation. Heather must notice her apprehension and leans over and places a gentle hand on Naya's middle back and another under her knees before softly lifting her out of the seat and into her safe embrace.

"Are you okay to carry her, Heather? Honey does that hurt?" Yolanda asks and Naya shook her head and snuggled into Heather. She felt so incredibly safe in her wife's arms.

"Mhmm." Naya moaned out with her face in Heather's neck and Heather smiles at her wife.

"I take it you're comfortable..." Yolanda giggles and shakes her head making Heather look back up and smile at her.

"Who has Sophia?" Heather asks promptly and Yolanda looks back at the young mom before answering.

"Susan and the girls have her. Sophia's hungry and it's lunchtime so Susan and I will find her something to eat in the kitchen." Yolanda says and Heather nods with a smile.

"Thank you. Your help will be so appreciated so I can truly be there for Naya. You've all been incredible this entire time. Thank you, Yolanda, for everything." Heather spoke sincerely and Yolanda smiled at her daughter-in-law. She loved this girl like she loved Naya and Nickayla.

"Honey, we wouldn't be anywhere else in the world than right here with you three. That's what family does for each other and you know that better than anyone." Yolanda spoke. Heather smiled and glanced down to see Naya nodding off. The pain meds from the hospital were still in her system and Donna told the girls and their parents she would likely be very sleepy this afternoon. Yolanda smiles at her content daughter because she hasn't looked this comfortable since before the accident. The way she's being held must be supporting her ribs in a manner where she's able to combat some of that pressure. Meanwhile Heather makes it look like she's carrying around a puppy that weighs next to nothing.

Are you settling her on the couch, Heather?" Yolanda asks as she closes the backseat door and they walk unhurriedly into the house. Heather was walking like she was floating on air which made Naya feel like she was barely moving yet this barely-there-motion made her so relaxed rather than flinch in pain. Naya closed her eyes and didn't even realize they were already in the living room and Heather had set her down on the couch, this was how seamless and caring she was. The second Heather let her go though she instantly missed the connection and felt the pain in her ribs when they weren't being supported in the way that Heather was holding her. Heather was draping one of their other knitted blankets over Naya when she heard her mom call her name from the kitchen.

"I'll be right back, my love. Can I get you anything to drink, beautiful?" Heather asked and Naya smiled and winced at the soreness.

"A water would be awesome since I'm almost positive that we drank the last of the ice tea several days ago. Thanks, baby." Naya smiles and Heather places a kiss on her lips before sprinting into the kitchen to retrieve the drink for her wife. Susan points to the open refrigerator and Heather looks inside to see foil pans of two lasagna's, casseroles, spaghetti, Sophia's favorite homemade golden brown mac and cheese that Chris makes, and other fully prepared meals that had baking instructions on little post-it notes attached to each of them. All they had to do was stick them in the oven.

Susan points to a note that was on the pad they always kept on their dining room table and Heather takes a photo of the inside of the fridge with a big smile on her face before walking over to the note.

Naya, Heather, Sophia, and family,

We are so happy you are home! When we were staying at Lea's we decided to make ourselves useful and prepare some of your favorites for you. Just follow the cooking instructions on the top of each one and it will tell you how long to bake and at what temp. Open the freezer and there are a few other surprises, including one for Sophia's dinner time dessert. We love you and let us know if you need ANYTHING. Family sticks together. Oh, and Naya's ice tea is stocked in the refrigerator downstairs. We ran out of room up here!

Love you all!

Chris, Amber, Jenna, Vanessa, Cory, Diana, Harry, Kevin, Lea, and Chord

Heather shook her head and willed away tears at the love that was shown by this group of people. Even when they weren't with them in the hospital, they were doing everything for them. Heather and Naya were so lucky.

Yolanda walks into the kitchen and sees the stocked refrigerator and looks at it in confusion before Heather hands her the note from their friends and both of the older women lean in to read it.

Heather walks to the freezer and pulls it out to reveal cookies and a couple of their favorite pies including apple, and Sophia's favorite, a chocolate pudding pie with whipped cream. A larger container that wasn't there before caught her eye and she picked it up and read the post-it note stuck to the top.

Banana Splits for everyone! Just set this container in the upstairs or downstairs refrigerator (wherever there's non-existent room left) and they'll be perfectly ready by dinner time. A brand new can of whipped cream is in the fridge on the side door. We didn't put the whipped cream on because it's not the same if it's not right out of the can! Enjoy my darling! Xx

"God I love them." Heather breathes out shaking her head. These people were her family, no question. Heather pulls the pan with ten individual banana splits and rearranged a few things and managed to find room in the fridge for them. She took out one of the lasagnas for tonight.

Susan and Yolanda finish reading the note that was on the banana splits and they both shake their heads at the incredible friends their girls have.

"Wow. You two are so fortunate to have these people in your life." Susan lets out before taking a seat at the kitchen table. Yolanda pours herself a cup of coffee and does the same next to Susan.

"So lucky. You've got the best bunch of friends I've ever seen." Yolanda smiles and Heather nods before running down to the other fridge to grab a couple of ice teas which sounded really good to Heather too. Once Heather comes back upstairs and heads towards the living room she waves the older women over.

"Come lounge with us instead of sitting on the uncomfortable dining chairs. Grab a blanket, your coffees, and relax." Heather smiles and opens her wife's ice tea before setting the bottle on the side table. Naya is on the chaise part of the couch and is wincing trying to find a comfortable position as Yolanda and Susan look on feeling completely helpless that they can't take away her pain. They sit in the recliners that are opposite the couch. They are separated by a side table in between them as they watch the girls and their heart breaks for Naya.

"Sweetheart, what can we do for you, mi amor?" Yolanda asks in a pleading tone and Naya is so sick of the constant pain. A tear runs down her cheek but she wipes it away quickly.

"I don't know. It just hurts and I can't get comfortable even if I wanted to take a nap it's impossible with how much this hurts. Heather kisses the side of her head and hunches over so so she can see her wife's face.

"Talk to me, beautiful. Is there something I can do for you to make you more comfortable?" Heather begged and Naya put her head down and shrugs shyly. "There's got to be something, beautiful, just talk to me." Heather urges and tucks some of her dark hair behind her ear.

Naya shakes her head before another spasm of pain shoots through her stomach and she squirms and whimpers. Heather's had enough of watching her wife in pain. It is excruciating for her so she can't imagine the pain Naya actually feels. Heather knows precisely what Naya wants but she's too proud to admit that she needs it.

Heather lifts her wife in the same way she did before and sinks back down into the chaise bringing Naya's body sideways across her lap and adjusting her so her ribs are supported but not squished or forcing pressure on any of her incisions.

Heather helps Naya lean against her and tucks a part of the blanket in a spot under her ribs so there's no tension on them. Heather feels wetness on her cotton shirt and looks down to see Naya teary-eyed and bends her head down to meet her beautiful brown eyes.

"Does this hurt you, my love? Should we set you back down so your flat on the couch instead?" Heather asks and Naya almost frazzled starts shaking her head.

"No! It feels so good. It's such a damn relief." Naya whispers and takes a semi-decent deep breath and Heather covers her with a blanket.

"I'm so happy that this helps you. I will hold you for as long or as I need to so you're not in pain." Heather mumbles while placing a kiss on her wife's cheek while using her fingers to push the hair away from her face.

"You're so beautiful, my love," Heather says and Naya opens her eyes and smiles before leaning her head to the side and burying it into Heather's chest between her arm and breast.

Yolanda and Susan stared at the two lovebirds in awe and admiration. Sometimes love will take your breath away where you can't believe it's real, that's the feeling every single time their family sees Heather and Naya together.

"It's just humiliating that I need to be held like a fucking child to not be in pain..." Naya huffs before burying her face in Heather's chest. "You've been sitting in a hospital for days, I should get off of you so you can enjoy being home finally." Yolanda and Susan look heartbroken.

"Hey. Don't you ever think like that. Honey, look at the pure hell you went through?! We almost lost you! More than once! I wouldn't trade holding you for anything in this world. Don't you even think about leaving my lap because I'm not letting you go." Heather smiled and Naya looked up into those dazzling blue eyes and blushed at how amazing her wife was.

"I love you," Naya whispered and Heather kissed her forehead.

"More than anything. You and Soph are my girls." Heather smiled.

A few minutes later Nickayla, Ashley, and Sophia came into the room.

"Hey did you know there's like ten new outfits on her bed and we had to watch her try on each one?" Ashley says using her thumb to point behind her at the bedroom.

"You're just mad they weren't in your size, aunt Ashley." Sophie giggled and Ashley glared at her making her laugh harder. If these two were left to their own devices they would go at it for hours. They were great entertainment if the power ever went out though.

Heather, Naya, and the two older women look over with a smile but their eyebrows were still knitted in confusion before Naya speaks up.

"Did you two buy her more stuff?" Naya inquired turning her head towards their moms who put both of their hands up in defense.

"For once we aren't to blame!" Susan let out and Heather rolled her eyes because if it wasn't them it could only be one other person... Heather got out her phone and called the only culprit. Naya and the other girls watch Heather with amused looks on their faces. Heather puts the phone on speakerphone holding it out in front of her.

"Hello, my favorite blonde dancer!" Chris answers sweetly over the phone.

"Arent you sweet, my Christopher!" Susan replies and Naya can't help but laugh.

"Mom not y..." Heather starts but rolls her eyes. "You know what I'll let you have your moment of glory." Heather sighs.

"Hi to you too Hemo!" Chris says cheerfully and Heather throws her head back.

"Yeah whatever..." Heather sighs making everyone laugh.

"Hi, Kurtsy!" Sophia squealed. They have been on the phone with Chris for nearly twenty seconds and she hadn't said anything yet. She couldn't hold herself back any longer.

"My darling! How's my favorite girl?" Chris asked and Sophia blushed and showed her dimples before she excitedly had to talk again.

"Uncle Kurtsy! Thank you for my outfits! I tried them all on and made Kiki and Ashley take pictures! We will send them to you!" Sophia squealed and bounced on her knees. Everyone in the room smiled at her.

"I have no idea what you are talking about..." Chris said flatly.

"Yes, you do..." Nickayla said unimpressed with this lying skill.

"This is accusatory and I won't stand for it!" Chris defends his shopping addiction.

"Chris you freaking bedazzled them! You might as well of just left a long trail of unicorn pee from the front door all the way to your house..." Ashley deadpanned and they all snorted out a laugh. Naya buried her face in Heather's chest as her shoulders shook from laughing. Yolanda nearly spits out her tea.

"There was also no Barbie pink amongst the ten outfits...clue number two," Nickayla said and both Chris and Sophia spoke up at the same time.

"Yuck!" Chris and Sophia both said in unison and disgust.

"So did y..." Chris starts but the phone must have been stolen from him and all they hear is Chris shouting hey in the background.

"Hi, guys!" Vanessa squeaks out "We miss you all, even though it's been like a day..." Jenna adds with a laugh.

"Nessy! NaNa!" Sophia squeals while clapping. "I miss you!" Sophia says before taking the phone from Heather's palm. "Hold on aunties. I'm going to my princess room!" Sophia announces as she turns on her tummy and slides off the couch and runs to her room with her momma's phone.

"What the hell just happened?" Heather whispers confused as she is still holding her palm up that the phone was just stolen. Naya looks just as baffled and looks behind the couch at the hallway their daughter just ran down.

"You guys aren't cool to talk to in front of anymore." Nickayla laughs. Heather and Naya glared at her but the smiles on their faces can't be helped.

"Love that damn child!" Ashley chuckles and Susan laughs just as they hear Sophia coming back into the hallway to get the crackers she left on the table but she looked troubled and less than impressed on the phone.

"I will go all Lima Heights!" Sophia yelled and the living room looked at her with faces they looked between a mixture of amused, entertained, slightly worried, but thoroughly enjoying this.

Naya looked at Heather just as the little girl was about to go back down the hall.

"Soph, Mija, what happened?" Naya asked and the women all look over.

"Nessy is saying she wants skittles and can't remember where we hid them but I do. I'm not telling her because she can't eat them without me. I'm very upset right now..." Sophia stomps off and the living room bursts into laughter.

"This child may be related to Naya..." Ashley mutters. Taking a sip of her black coffee.

"You don't even need a damn DNA test. An asteroid is less obvious." Nickayla says and Yolanda, Susan, and Heather nod their heads with breathy giggles. Honestly, this laughter was exactly what Naya needed after the hellish few days she had been through.

"Less obvious than actually pushing her out of my body..." Naya glared.

"I mean if you are going to get all technical on me..." Nickayla replies. Heather laughs and holds her wife close before whispering in her ear.

"How are you feeling, beautiful? Doing okay right now?" Heather asked kissing her forehead. Naya nods and smiles at her doting wife.

"Whenever you are holding me I feel so much better and safe. You're my rock, Heather." Naya confesses and Heather smiles at her wife.

"I love you so much, my love," Heather replies softly just as Sophia comes back in with her phone. Once she gives it back to Heather she puts her hands on her hips.

"I don't know how to make plans. I'm supposed to facetime my aunties and uncles when the clock says five but I don't know what that is. I told them my people will call their people..." Sophia said with a shrug. Naya and Heather shake their heads. Yep, they are Sophia's event schedulers now...

"Oh, and LeLe said five means five... I don't know what she means either but she told me to tell you mami." Sophia said pulling herself back on the couch and looking at Naya. Heather silently laughs while hiding her face in Naya's dark hair.

"Please never get rid of these friends, I like them so much..." Nickayla laughed as she went back into the kitchen to refill her cup.

Heather opened her arm for Sophia who cuddled into the other side of her chest and put her little arm out to take Naya's hand.

"I'm so glad you're okay mami," Sophia mumbled and squeezed Naya's hand tighter.

"Oh mi amor, so am I. That was so scary but we got through it together, right? I got better so much faster because you and momma take such good care of me." Naya responded while taking her good arm and playing with her daughter's long wavy hair.

Sophia smiled but a little tear came out of her right eye as she lifted he head to look at her moms. "I just love you both so much. You're the bestest mommies ever and I love you. I would give away all my toys and pretties if you stay super safe." Sophia says and wipes her eyes. Meanwhile, everyone in the room including Naya and Heather is doing the same. Damn this child.

"Oh, Mija, you are the best little girl in the whole wide world and by far the sweetest and compassionate girl I've never met. Momma and I are so proud of the sweet little girl you are." Naya says

"You are our everything, my little love," Heather said kissing her daughter. Susan came up and grabbed a second blanket since Naya had most of the first one and covered Heather, Sophia, and Naya's exposed feet with the second before placing a kiss on all of their heads.

"Thanks, ma," Heather said before all three of them settled and fell asleep curled up together.

At 5:00 pm the crew called Heather's phone and Heather gave it to Sophia right away. Sophia squealed when nine faces showed up on the screen.

"Soph!" They all said and her cute little wave and dimpled smile were sent back to them.

"Hi!" Sophia replied with a big smile never leaving her face. "I miss you!" Sophia frowned. It was ridiculous how much she saw these people.

"We miss you! Are you taking good care of mami?" Jenna asks as the phone turns to her.

"I think so. I'm really trying super hard!" Sophia admitted and everyone smiled. "Oh here!" Sophia says and turns the phone so the friends could see Naya and Heather.

"Nay!" they all say happily making Susan and Yolanda grin wildly. Naya and Heather smile Naya gives a little wave with her good arm.

"Hi, you guys! Seriously you all are amazing for the food and desserts. That was such a nice surprise to not have to worry about that. I can't thank you all enough for being there for me." Naya says and Heather kisses her forehead.

"Of course girl. We got you, you know that. We love you so much and are so grateful you are alright." Amber says and they all nod.

"What did the short one think about the dessert portion?" Diana says with a smile and Sophia looked up in confusion but had wide eyes.

"She doesn't know..." Heather smiled and turned the camera around when Susan motioned for Sophia to follow her into the kitchen which she did and they went to the refrigerator. Susan hoisted Sophia on her hip and five seconds later they heard squealing and screeching. Susan put her down and covered her ears and Heather kept the phone pointed at Sophia while she did the Naya dance. Everyone on the other side of the phone laughed at the Naya clone as she ran back over to the phone.

"Oh thank you! Nana splits! This is a great day! Mami's home and nana splits!... Wait, is Santa here too?" Sophia asked bouncing on her heels looking around for the jolly white-bearded man. They all laugh at this comedian they have for a daughter, granddaughter, and niece.

"Sophia I love you." Vanessa laughs.

"Love you too Nessy! You're not having skittles without me are you?" Sophia whined and Vanessa sighed.

"No, I can't find them!" Vanessa feigns annoyance and groans. Sophia smirks knowing she hid them well.

"Soph, do you just hide crap at people's houses for when you are there?" Ashley asks and Sophia smirks and nods.

"Yep! Saves room in my glitter bag." Sophia says and Naya hides her face in Heather's chest and laughed.

"Practical..." Chord laughs.

"Soph, what did you hide in my house?" Lea asked curiously.

"A bag of beef jerky that me and Nessy found when the boys were watching the tv," Sophia answered innocently.

"You hid meat in my house?!" Lea shrieks looking at Vanessa and back through the camera at Sophia.

Yolanda, Susan, Nickayla, Ashley, Heather, and Naya are all laughing with their hands over their mouth. You really can't make this shit up.

"Sophia hid beef jerky in a vegans house..." Cory bursts out into uncontrollable laughter and Lea hits him on the back of the head. Naya is laughing so hard with tears in her eyes. Her body was killing her but this shit was hilarious.

"Ow!" Cory said pouting rubbing the back of his head.

"Seriously?! Soph where is it?" Lea whines.

"But then you'll eat it..." Sophia whines and pouts.

"Soph, I don't eat meant. Jerky is meat. This better not be stuff that has to be refrigerated! I don't need a rotten animal in my house!" Lea whined and everyone laughed.

"Oh no, I checked with..." Sophia started but stopped. Lea's eyes went wide.

"Who did you check with?" Lea challenged and Sophia put a hand over her mouth.

"No that's tattling! They helped me hide jerky. That's like a really nice thing to do..." Sophia said.

"Shiiiii...my ribs" Naya laughed with tears in her eyes. She was in so much pain but literally could not stop laughing. Heather was holding her but laughing so hard as well as everyone else in the living room.

"Why do you guys even own a tv. This is free entertainment right here." Susan said wiping her tears as she giggled.

"Soph, what else do you have hidden around here?" Lea asks and Soph puts a finger to her chin.

"Mostly candy, some snacks. I think I hid I pair of socks too. I always forget to put those in my glitter bag and then my feet get cold..." Sophia admits.

"Sophia you're the greatest human to ever live," Kevin says and Sophia smirks.

"Soph! You have more stuff here than I do!" Lea says and Sophia giggles.

"I'm just being eeepare...momma what's the word?" Sophia asks and Heather narrows her eyes trying to guess what she's trying to say.

"Say it again baby..." Heather asks and Sophia tries to say the word

"pared? I think" Sophia says and Heather nods and smiles. Naya is leaning against Heather with a smile and Heather has a hand over her chest to stabilize her ribs.

"Oh, pre-par-ed sweetheart," Heather said slowly and Sophia repeated it a few times while everyone on the phone and in the living room looked on adoringly.

"Thanks, momma! Yeah, LeLe! I'm just being prepared!" Sophia insists.

"Well, this has been enlightening," Lea says shaking her head with a smile.

"Now I'm hungry for beef jerky..." Harry whines. Having talked about beef jerky for so long he was starting to crave it.

"Good luck uncle Harry..." Sophia said knowing there is no way anyone would find it.

It was around 6:30 pm and Naya was just waking up from a short nap. After they hung up with their friends around 5:30 pm Naya started to get sleepy and she was still laying constantly against Heather. It was truly the only way she felt comfortable.

"Mhmm ow!" Naya groaned as she started to wake up from her nap. Heather looked down at her and felt her forehead before running her hands through her hair. They did give her a crappy barely qualifying as a sponge bath in the hospital and Heather swore there was still blood in her hair since they only used warm water. Naya almost felt worse after that. All she wanted was to take a normal bath or shower.

"Oh, honey are you hurting?" Heather says and Naya nods and grimaces. Heather looks up to her mom who's sitting on the recliner just noticing Naya was waking back up. "Ma can you grab her a pill and glass of water please?" Heather asks and Susan instantly gets up and goes to the kitchen cabinet to grab the pill. "Ash, would you mind changing her bandages while I hold her so she stays comfortable?" Heather asks the blonde nods and grabs the medical bag where they had everything they needed to change Naya's dressings and apply the cream to her stitches.

"Absolutely." Ashley replies and Heather smiles in gratitude as Susan comes back with a pill and glass of water.

"Here, sweetheart," Susan says and Heather keeps Naya upright enough to swallow the pill before settling her back down and them placing a pillow behind her head. Naya was on her back with her head propped up against the corner of the couch with her body laying across her wife. Heather put pillows around her and everywhere she needed the extra support. Naya breathed out as much as her broken body would allow.

"Here Ash, let's give her five minutes just to let the pill kick in," Heather says to her sister who nods in agreement. Meanwhile, Ashley heads into the bathroom to wash her hands.

"I love you. You're the best wife in the world." Naya said and Heather leaned down and kisses Naya's lips.

"Nah, beautiful, that award goes to you. My brave, powerful, wife." Heather says with a smile. Naya looks up and into those bright blue eyes and grins back at her.

"Mami?" Sophia says quietly. Heather and Naya turn their heads to where Sophia's coming around the couch. "Mami are you hurt again?" Sophia asks sadly. She's never seen her mami's wounds, only the bandages.

"No baby, these are the same ones but aunt Ashley is a doctor so she's helping to change the bandages for mami," Naya explained. Sophia nodded somberly. She hated that her mami was hurt.

"Mami can I stay with you too?" Sophia asks and Naya looks at Heather.

"I mean, if you want to you can baby, but these are a little different than the owies that you get..." Heather said softly.

"Mami never leaves me when I get hurt so I will never leave mami. I'll stay." Sophia says with conviction. Naya smiles tearfully and gathers her baby girl who hugs her side. Heather helps Naya lift her shirt to expose her stomach which is covered with minor scrapes, scuffs, scratches, and her large bandaid-covered gash which the doctors had to stitch. Sophia sits up a bit to watch Ashley as she sets her new bandage face up on the towel she grabbed from the linen closet.

Ashley slowly removed the dressing from the deep wound and Sophia stared at it and she must have realized just how significant these injuries were. She brought her little hands to her mouth as tears streamed down her face. Naya and Heather try to comfort her and tell her it's okay. Ashley debates putting the bandage back over until Sophia leaves but Sophia won't let go of her mami's hand.

"Are you okay Soph?" Ashley asks placing a kiss on her cheek and she nods slowly.

"Who hurt my mami?" Sophia asks angrily. Sophia is never angry like this. She's such a happy child. Naya and Heather were surprised at her tone.

"Neita..." Antonio said from his place on the recliner next to his wife.

"Who hurt mami!" Sophia shrieks to nobody in particular.

Antonio grabs Sophia as she fights against him

"No abuelo! Someone hurt my mami!" Sophia screamed out in tears and Naya lifted her arm from where she lay on the couch. Antonio looked at her before Naya urgently nodded just wanting to comfort her baby girl. Sophia wiggled out of Antonio's arms and scurried into Naya's side and hid her face in her mami's neck. Naya held her daughter close while Heather and Ashley looked absolutely heartbroken.

"I'm so sorry mami." Sophia cried and Naya lifted her little chin and looked into her blue eyes.

"Sweetheart, what are you sorry for?" Naya asked while wiping her daughter's tears.

"That I wasn't there to help and a bad man hurt you. I need my mami." Sophia said and Naya let a tear fall as she held her daughter.

"I'm right here, my baby girl. I'm right here. Mami's here. I'm okay. You have been here, Mija. You've been so wonderful to your mami and I'm so lucky to have you as my daughter. I love you so much, my precious girl." Naya said as she held and cupped the back of her daughters head. Heather reached over and kissed her head as well.

"I love you mami. I love you, momma." Sophia mumbled and snuggled into her mami. Ashley cleaned the wound and changed the bandage while Sophia was occupied. Ashley went on to change Naya's thigh, arm, and forehead bandage as well. Sophia never disconnected from her mami.
